        한국여성환경운동의 성별관계와 지구화 논점들

이영숙 이화여자대학교 한국여성연구원 2001 여성학논집 Vol.18 No.-

        1. Research Purpose and Questions Although the Korean women's environmental movement has contributed by expanding environmental activities into the daily life of the mainstream women's movement it is far from the gender conscious activities. Thus, this study aims to propose ways to improve women's involvement in the environmental movement as an autonomous agent, but not as objects of the movement and ultimately help realize gender equality in activism and the international community in the era of globalization. In this study, the Korean women's environmental movement is defined as an organized activity for anti-environmental pollution. The scope of the study is not limited to activities informed by a gender perspective, but includes all activities performed as citizens. In reality, most Korean women in the movement have participated in the activities without attention to gender concerns. What has been the impact of globalization on the establishment of a gender equal environmental movement? Specifically, what is the impact of globalization on the Korean women's environmental movement? how do they respond and react to global tendencies? and what aspects can they contribute to the establishment of the global environmental movement from a gendered perspective? In this context the research questions are as follows: ① What are the gender problems in the Korean women's environmental movement? ② What patriarchal elements impede women's subjective participation in Korea? ③ What influences do global tendencies and solidarity in the global women's environmental movement bring about in the Korean movement? ④ What are the implications of the responses of the Korean women's environmental movement to the global ecofeminists' efforts to increase women's subjective participation? 2. Research Methods and Data Collection The major research methods are in-depth interview and literature review. For the in-depth interviews, 10 women in the environmental movement in the Seoul area were interviewed between April and May in 2001. 3. Results This research project investigates whether globalization has brought about greater gender equality in the women's environmental movement in Korea through global citizen solidarity, and to see what are the positions and responses of Korean women in the environmental movement toward international trends. Based on the data, we can conclude as follows: ① Women's relationship to nature that stems from women's daily life experiences in the local do not easily change. Thus, the distinctiveness among women of different nations tends to remain unchanged at this stage of the globalization process because of existing historical legacies. ② The strong essentialist characteristics in their motivation and the activities relevant to domestic labor reflect more rigid patriarchy traditions in Korean society than in other societies. ③ Globalization generally brings social changes that tend toward greater gender equality in consciousness, systems, and social movements via the flow of global standards and norms. However, in the Korean women's environmental movement, although some changes have started through trans-national organizations and global solidarity, its influence has been weak so far. This is because technology changes rapidly in Korea, but consciousness does not change as easily. ④ The reluctance among Korean women to accept feminism and ecofeminism shows friction between the global and the local because both statements do not cover Korean women's daily life experiences and social psychology. In sum, this research has implications for globalization. On the one hand, changes in technology without changes in consciousness do not easily bring about gender-concerned agents in the movement. On the other hand, the friction between the global and the local and the lack of reflection of local experience in the movement impedes the international trend towards gender equality in Korea. In conclusion, the study shows that it is important to collect the experiences from the local to the global for a successful social movement.

상악 매복 견치와 관련된 석회화 치성낭

        윤숙자,김영희,이재서 대한구강악안면방사선학회 2000 Imaging Science in Dentistry Vol.30 No.3

A 35-year-old man was referred to the department of Oral and maxillofacial surgery of Chonnam university hospital for the chief complaint of asymptomatic swelling on the buccal vestibule of upper right canine area. Radiographs revealed that the upper right canine was impacted and there was a well-circumscribed pericoronal radiolucency related with the canine. Multiple radiopaque foci were scattered in the radiolucent lesion, and the roots of the lateral incisor and the first premolar related to the lesion showed external resorption. The radiographic features of this lesion were typical of adenomatoid odontogenic tumor, but considering the gender and age of the patient, the tentative diagnosis was made as calcifying odontogenic cyst. Microscopically this lesion was diagnosed as calcifying odontogenic cyst, Because calcifying odontogenic cyst has no pathognomonic feature of radiographs, to consider radiographic features with clinical findings is necessary in order to establish more correct diagnosis.(Korean J Oral Maxillofac Radiol 2000; 30: 223-227)

Cognitive psychology is a discipline which tries to delineate and to understand fundamental mechanisms of human thinking. The mechanisms that have been found by cognitive psychologists have such meaningful implications to other areas of social research that they now serve as important frameworks for research of a variety of social phenomena. In the first part of the paper, brief history of how cognitive psychology has evolved is presented in a very schcematic style for who dont have any background in psychology. Secondly, main part of the paper will be devoted to introduce a few basic topics in cognitive field, including attention, memory, schema and metacognition and discuss their implications in a couple of related fields. Finally, current interests both by novice people and experts on neurocognitive approach to human thinking and education is briefly highlighted, although the topics presented are far from exhaustive.

Purpose: This study was aimed to specify roles of nurses from the anesthesia and recovery room by analyzing nursing activities as well as anesthesia nursing during surgery. Method: The objects were 12 RNs working in the recovery room of a university hospital located in Incheon. Self-report was performed by measuring stop-watch for five days from May 17th to May 21st in 2004. Research method was designed to record the time and frequency of the nursing activity from anesthesia and recovery room based on nurses' statement and other references for five days. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and t-test via SPSS Win 10.0 program. Result: Nursing activities in anesthesia recovery room were classified into two different characteristics such as direct and indirect nursing activity. The activities consisted of 11 direct nursing areas and 39 nursing activities in anesthesia preparation room. The indirect nursing was classified into 8 nursing areas and 32 nursing activities. The direct nursing was classified into 12 nursing areas and 55 nursing activity. Also, the indirect nursing was classified into 7 nursing areas and 21 nursing activities in recovery room. In terms of prevalence of nursing activities in the anesthesia preparation room, observation and cooperation of anesthesia was the most prevalent activity, drug and eqipment management the second prevalent, and drug administration the third. On the other hand, in the recovery room, the most prevalent activity was vital sign checking and observation, the second most prevalent activity informative activity, and the third body temperature control. Nursing activity time was recorded according to the nursing characteristics. In the anesthesia preparation room, the direct nursing spent for 8092.20 minutes was larger than the indirect nursing spent for 7198.50 minutes. Also, in the recovery room, the direct nursing spent for 2361.16 minutes was larger than the indirect nursing spent for 1134.13 minutes. 4. Nursing activity time was compared to duty shifts. In the anesthesia preparation room, the direct nursing was more prevalent on day shift and the indirect nursing was prevalent on evening shift. However, in the recovery room, both direct and indirect nursing activities were prevalent on day shift. Conclusion: The role of anesthesia and recovery room nurses was analysed according to the time, frequency, and its characteristics.

      • Alcohol, NAFLD, Other : The Uneven Distribution of Liver Fat Estimated from MRI and its Clinical Importance

( Young Rok Choi ),( Tae Yoo ),( Suk Won Suh ),( Jeong Moo Lee ),( Hye Young Kim ),( Hae Won Lee ),( Nam Joon Yi ),( Kwang Woong Lee ),( Kyung Suk Suh ) 대한간학회 2013 춘·추계 학술대회 (KASL) Vol.2013 No.1

Background: This study was aimed to evaluate the discrepancy between hepatic fat fraction based on MR chemical shifting images (MRC) and hepatic fatty change of the frozen section as well as the regional difference of hepatic fat and its clinical importance using MRC. Patients and Methods: Between Feb. 2010 and Jun. 2012, 278 living donor liver transplantations were performed at Seoul National University Hospital. 29 living liver donors who had fatty liver (macro-vesicular fatty change > 5%) were retrospectively reviewed. Fat fraction was estimated in the different 13 regions of the liver (segment 1, 2, 3 and the peripheral & deep portion of segment 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) on MRC images. And the pathologic report for frozen section of their liver biopsy was investigated. Results: The degree of discrepancy between liver frozen biopsy and fat fraction from MRC was increased corresponding to the level of fatty change on biopsy. And the degree of regional difference in the hepatic fat also depends on the amount of fat content. The difference of fat fraction went up to 10.6% in this study. And the highest fatty region of 25 donors (86.71%) was located in the right liver right liver and the lowest fatty region of 17 donors (58.62%) was in left liver. Conclusion: Because a needle or wedge biopsy cannot represent the remaining liver completely, especially in a fatty liver, MRC will be helpful to realize the accurate amount of hepatic fat and its regional distribution.
