Pericles, the first one in Shakespeare's romance plays has been known as the work to test romance patterns employing motifs such as shipwrecks, adversity at the sea, lost children, marvelous visions, family separation and reunion. This article purposes to explore the process retrieving Pericles's lost identities based on maternity and how he reconstructs his family and kingdom. Especially, Pericles, the central figure in the play is a father and ruler of Tyre. He has a variety of experience with himself sea-tossed. Through his repeated sea-suffering he unexpectedly loses his identities-a patriarch and monarch and recovers them with the help of female characters in the end. It is remarkable that the role of the female figures is not limited to patriarchal instrument in Pericles. Their positive maternal power plays a significant part in relieving Pericles's suffering, rehabilitating his power and reuniting his families. It is certain that maternal power play a significant role on central male figures escaping from their suffering rehabilitating their power as fathers and rulers, and harmonizing with their families, and others. The romance plays show it is impossible for men to accomplish absolute patriarchal order, further revalidation of kingly authority without the help of maternal power. In the final scene, Thaisa and Marina lose previous active energies and are rather silent against Pericles. It is considered that women in the play are supposed to intend not to completely incorporate themselves into the men-centered patriarchal society. Therefore, it is difficult to accept the fact that Pericles succeeded in recovering his identities completely and establishing his absolute kingdom.
도로 네트워크 환경에서 효율적인 Maximizing Range Sum Query 처리를 위한 알고리즘

Recently with widespread of use of mobile computing device , various services with location information appear. Therefore Location-based Service(LBS) is one of the most promising application for processing location-related query on spatial database. In spatial database research, MaxRS(Maximizing Range Sum) is introduced. The goal of MaxRS query is finding the optimal location of range r such that the total weights of all the points covered by r are maximized. In most traditional researches, it is assumed that MaxRS methods follow Euclidean distance. But in real location-based services, the motion of objects is limited by road network. Therefore object in spatial road network cannot move freely. In this paper, we propose the external-memory algorithm for processing MasRS query in a road network. It is suited a large road network database. And this algorithm can retrieve all the possible optimal location rather than finding only optimal location. This can help clients choose their own optimal location by considering their own additional conditions. In last of this paper, we evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm by using simulator.
셰익스피어의 『페리클레스』와 황석영의 『심청』에 나타난 여성의 몸과 모성

This paper aims to explore the female body and maternity in Shakespeare’ romance play, Pericles and Hwang Seokyoung’s novel, Shimchung. Pericles and Shimchung are similar in that female figures have sea experiences and their bodies are in danger under men’s power. The female body in each work is described as a product to make much money in male-centered ideology or a patriarchal society. In Pericles, although Marina separated from her father is sold to the brothel and is confronted with losing her virginity, she succeeds to keep her virginity and tries to educate men visiting the brothel with the outstanding wit and persuasive language skills. Eventually, her excellent capacities enable her to overcome her crisis. In Shimchung, Shimchung sold by money, apart from her family makes a miserable tour of the whole Eastern Asia including China, Taiwan, and Japan. Even though Shimchung faces the cruel reality of capitalism and loses her virginity under men’s power unlike Marina, she actively responds to her severe reality without only submission, trying not to lose the original independence for her spirit. Pericles and Shimchung also emphasize the importance and power of maternity. Maternal power in Marina plays a significant part in relieving Pericles’s suffering as well as rehabilitating his power and reuniting his wife and daughter. Shimchung begins to show her maternity in taking care of her colleague’s daughter, and her maternal instinct is expanded for the neglected. Marina and Shimchung create their own maternal value and demonstrate their capacities as the subject of each life in male-centered society. It is obvious that Shakespeare and Hwang Seokyoung describe Marina and Shimchung as not petious victims but strong-minded women to be try to overcome their perilous moments.
