      • 200 GeV/핵자 유황이온과 핵건판핵의 충돌에 의해 생성된 헬륨 파쇄핵의 극한파쇄 연구

        고에너지 중이온 원자핵과 핵건판의 충돌에서, 200GeV/핵자 유황이온에 의해 생성된 파쇄 헬륨핵(Z=2)의 실험실계의 방출각 분포는 표적핵에 무관한 회귀공식. dN=exp[a+k exp(η-y_b)]d[exp(η-y_b)]로 잘 표현된다. 여기에서 의사신속도 η=-ln[tan(θ/2)]이고, y_b는 실험실계의 입사입자(^32S)의 신속도이다. 이 공식에 의한 적합에서 k=-0.057±0.008로 얻어진다. 즉, 핵건판과 고에너지 중이온의 충돌에서 파쇄 헬륨핵의 exp(η-y_b)의 분포는 "극한파쇄" 현상을 잘 설명하고 있다. The angular distribution of emission angle θ of helium (Z=2) produced in the collisions of incident particles of 200 GeV/nucleon ^32S in nuclear emulsion is well expressed by dN=exp[a+k exp(η-y_b)]d[exp(η-y_b)] where the pseudorapidity is η=-ln[tan(θ/2)], the laboratory system primary rapidity is y_b, and k=-0.057+0.008. The shape of this frequency of occurrence distributions in terms of exp(η-y_b) attests to the validity of the concept of "limiting fragmentation" for helium projectile fragments produced in the projectile fragmentation regions of heavy ion collisions in nuclear emulsion.

        Enhanced adipogenic differentiation and reduced collagen synthesis induced by human periodontal ligament stem cells might underlie the negative effect of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein‐2 on periodontal regeneration

J Periodont Res 2011; 46: 193–203. © 2010 John Wiley & Sons A/S</I> </P><P><B>Background and Objective: </B> Recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein‐2 (rhBMP‐2) is a potent inducer for the regeneration of mineralized tissue, but has a limited effect on the regeneration of cementum and periodontal ligament (PDL). The aim of the present study was to determine the effects of rhBMP‐2 on the <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I> biologic activity of well‐characterized human PDL stem cells (hPDLSCs) and to elucidate the underlying mechanism of minimal periodontal regeneration by rhBMP‐2.</P><P><B>Material and Methods: </B> hPDLSCs were isolated and cultured, and then transplanted into an ectopic subcutaneous mouse model using a carrier treated either with or without rhBMP‐2. Comprehensive histologic, histometric and immunohistochemical analyses were performed after an 8‐wk healing period. The effects of rhBMP‐2 on the adipogenic and osteogenic/cementogenic differentiation of hPDLSCs were also evaluated. The effect of rhBMP‐2 on both soluble and insoluble collagen synthesis was analyzed, and the expression of mRNA and protein for collagen types I, II, III and V was assessed.</P><P><B>Results: </B> In the present study, rhBMP‐2 promoted both adipogenic and osteogenic/cementogenic differentiation of hPDLSCs <I>in vitro</I>, and the <I>in vivo</I> potential of hPDLSCs to form mineralized cementum and organized PDL tissue was down‐regulated following treatment with rhBMP‐2. Collagen synthesis, which plays a crucial role in the regeneration of cementum and the periodontal attachment, was significantly reduced, with associated modification of the relevant mRNA and protein expression profiles.</P><P><B>Conclusion: </B> In summary, the findings of the present study suggest that enhanced adipogenic differentiation and inhibition of collagen synthesis by hPDLSCs appear to be partly responsible for the minimal effect of rhBMP‐2 on cementum and PDL tissue regeneration by hPDLSCs.</P>

        Ozone Inhalation with 4-(N-methyl-N-nitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone and/or Dibutyl Phthalate Induced Cell Cycle Alterations via Wild-type p53 Instability in B6C3F1 Mice

        Changes in cell cycle control in the lungs and liver of the B6C3F1 mice (20 males per each group) exposed to ozone (0.5 ppm), 4-(N-methyl-N-nitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone (NNK, 1.0 mg/kg), and dibutyl phthalate (DBP, 5,000 ppm) after 52 weeks were examined through Western, Northern blot, and immunohistochemistry based on alterations in protein expression levels of G1/S checkpoints (cyclin D1, cyclin E, and PCNA), G2/M checkpoints (cyclin B1, cyclin G, and cyclin A), negative regulators (p53, p21, GADD45, and p27), and positive regulator (mdm2). Expression levels of cyclins D1, E, G, PCNA, mutant p53, and mdm2 proteins were higher in the lungs<br/> and livers treated with combination of toxicants than in those treated with ozone only. Expression levels of the wild-type and mutant p53, p21, GADD45, p27, and mdm2 proteins and mRNAs were<br/> higher in toxicant-treated groups than those of the control. Immunohistochemical analysis revealed staining intensities of the PCNA, cyclin D1, c-myc and mdm2 protein- treated lungs and livers were stronger than those of the control group. Our results showed that combined treatment of ozone with NNK/DBP altered the cell cycle control through instability of the wild-type p53 gene. Such pivotal p53-mediated cell cycle alterations may be responsible for the toxicity observed under our experimental condition. These results may be applied to risk assessment of mixture-induced toxicity.

        Liquid-liquid extraction of lithium using lipophilic dibenzo-14-crown-4 ether carboxylic acid in hydrophobic room temperature ionic liquid

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A green liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) system was developed for the recovery of lithium (Li<SUP>+</SUP>) from sodium and potassium ions, which are typically present at high concentrations in seawater. Dibenzo-14-crown-4ether (DB14C4) was functionalized with a long lipophilic alkyl C18 chain and a pendent proton ionizable carboxylic acid group to obtain a lithium (Li<SUP>+</SUP>) carrier system (DB14C4-C18-COOH) with high Li<SUP>+</SUP> extraction performance and good stability in the room temperature ionic liquid diluent, CYPHOSIL 109. The Li<SUP>+</SUP> extraction efficiency of DB14C4-C18-COOH/CYPHOSIL 109 can be enhanced by increasing the solution pH and DB14C4-C18-COOH concentration. Further examination of extraction results reveal 1:1 coordination between DB14C4-C18-COOH and Li<SUP>+</SUP> which was also supported by density functional theory calculations. At room temperature, the developed LLE system effectively extracted dilute Li<SUP>+</SUP> from Na<SUP>+</SUP> (selectivity α<SUB>Li</SUB> <SUP>+</SUP> <SUB>/Na</SUB> <SUP>+</SUP> =1954) and K<SUP>+</SUP> (α<SUB>Li</SUB> <SUP>+</SUP> <SUB>/K</SUB> <SUP>+</SUP> =138). Kinetic and thermodynamic parameters were evaluated for optimum Li<SUP>+</SUP> extraction conditions. Sequestered Li<SUP>+</SUP> can be easily recovered from the LLE system using dilute hydrochloric acid. Results from recycling tests showed stable Li<SUP>+</SUP> extraction performance hence it can be used for long term application. Overall results indicate the potential application of DB14C4-C18-COOH/CYPHOSIL 109 as a treatment step to recover Li<SUP>+</SUP> from brine or seawater.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Crown ether in RTIL CYPHOSIL 109 LLE system was developed for Li<SUP>+</SUP> recovery. </LI> <LI> Ligand lipophilic dibenzo14C4 crown ether with ionizable COOH group was synthesized. </LI> <LI> Highly selective LLE towards Li<SUP>+</SUP> in the presence of high Na<SUP>+</SUP> and K<SUP>+</SUP> concentration </LI> <LI> Ligand concentration, solution pH and temperature affected Li<SUP>+</SUP> extraction. </LI> <LI> Convenient Li<SUP>+</SUP> recovery and LLE reusability via dilute acid stripping treatment </LI> </UL> </P>

        Ferroelectric properties of Mn-doped BiFeO<sub>3</sub> thin films

        Bi(Fe<SUB>0.99</SUB>Mn<SUB>0.01</SUB>)O<SUB>3</SUB> thin films were prepared on a Pt(111)/Ti/SiO<SUB>2</SUB>/Si(100) substrates by pulsed laser deposition at various deposition temperature, such as at 520 <SUP>o</SUP>C, 530 <SUP>o</SUP>C, and 540 <SUP>o</SUP>C, respectively. The film deposited at 540 <SUP>o</SUP>C exhibited better ferroelectric property such as large remnant polarization (2P<SUB>r</SUB> = 139 μC/cm<SUP>2</SUP>) and low coercive field (2E<SUB>c</SUB> = 630 kV/cm). However, high leakage current density was observed especially in a high electric field range. The improvements were attributed to the facts of highly (111)-preferred orientation and uniform large grain size when the film was deposited at 540 <SUP>o</SUP>C.

        농후사료 급여수준이 비거세 한우의 증체와 부위별 지방조직의 지방산 조성에 미치는 효과

        The study was conducted with 63 Hanwoo bull calves of 193 days old for 19 months(up to 26 month of age) to examine the effect of feeding level of concentrate on the body weight gain, feed requirements and fatty acid composition of adipose tissues of various locations(subcutaneous, abdominal, kidney, intermuscular and intramuscular fats). The calves were allotted into 3 treatments according to the feeding level of concentrate(85, 100 and 115%), and fed concentrates of Grower(7∼10 month of age), Finisher I(11∼16 month of age), Finisher II (17∼20 month of age) and Finisher III(21∼26 month of age). The feeding levels of concentrates for the cattle of 85% and 115% were decreased or increased by 15%, respectively, up to 15 month of age based on the similar body weight to the cattle of 100%. The feeding levels of the concentrates for the cattle of 85% and 100% were continuously increased for the next 2 months, to make same levels as for the cattle of I15%, thereafter amount of concentrate were continuously increased based on the rate of body gain for all the cattle. The cattle were fed in a individual feeding system through the experimental period. The cattle were slaughtered at the ages of 6, 14, 18 and 24 month and adipose tissues were collected to analyze long chain fatty acids. Results observed from the study were summarized as follows Overall mean dry matter intake and body gain per day and feed requirements of Hanwoo bulls during the 19 months of feeding from 193 day old calves were 6.69㎏, 0.95㎏ and 7.06, respectively. Body gain of the Hanwoo bulls during experimental period was greatly affected by the feeding level of concentrate, but feed requirement was improved up to 20 month of age with the decreased feeding level of concentrate. Fatty acids of C_(16:0) C_(18:0) and C_(18:1) in the adipose tissues at various locations of Hanwoo bulls were dominated. The feeding level of concentrate did not affect the fatty acid composition except for C_(16:1) and C_(18:1) in subcutaneous fat, and C_(18:1) and C_(18:2) in intramuscular fat of the cattle that were fed at the level of 85% at the age of 14 month(P$lt;.05). No differences were observed in fatty acid composition of adipose tissues of each location for the cattle of 18 and 24 month of age among treatments. There were tendencies of greater C_(16:1) and C_(18:1) in subcutaneous and intramuscular fats while higher C_(18:0) in abdominal fat. There were also trends of greater unsaturated fatty acid compositions in subcutaneous and intramuscular fats and higher saturated fatty acids in abdominal, kidney and intermuscular fats. Percent C_(18:0) tended to be decreased while C_(16:1) C_(18:1) and C_(18:2) increased with the age of Hanwoo bulls.

        Preparation, Ferroelectric and Electrical Properties of Lead Germanate Pb5Ge3O11 thin films prepared by sol-gel methods

        Lead germanate Pb5Ge3O11 (PGO) thin flms were prepared by sol-gel methods and their electrical properties were obtained. Single phase of prepared PGO thin flm was confrmed by X-ray diraction peaks. PGO thin lms with c-axis oriented grains were prepared on (111) Pt-coated Si substrates when heat treated at 450C 600C for 1 h. Grains showed a plate like shape and grain size was increased with increasing annealing temperature. PGO thin lms were found to be ferroelectric at room temperature, and remanent polarization was about 4 C/cm2 at a coercive feld of 100 kV/cm. In this work, preparation, ferroelectric and electrical properties of PGO thin flms were investigated.

        Dielectric properties of KNbGeO5 glass

        We report the frequency and temperature dependence of dielectric properties for KNbGeO5 glass. The sample was prepared by the plate quenching method and the measurements were carried out in the frequency range from 102 Hz to 1.5 107 Hz with the heating rate of 2 C/min. The frequency dependence of the electrical data has been analyzed in the framework of the impedance Cole-Cole plot and the universal power law. It has been found that the activation energy obtained from the distribution of relaxation time of the Cole-Cole formalism is similar to the value 0.84 eV of the power law, indicating that the activation energy is an appropriate arameter to describe the relaxation mechanism.

      • 1.88A GeV ^56Fe 중이온에 의해 원자핵건판 내에서 회절들뜸 및 준회절들뜸 기구로 생긴 다중발생

        원자핵건판 내에서 1.88A GeV의 에너지를 갖는 ^56Fe 중이온(heavy ion)의 평균자유행로는 비적추적법(along-the-track scanning method)을 사용하여 8.01±0.27㎝로 측정되었다. ^56Fe 주이온에 의한 회절들뜸반응을 KHP 판정법으로 찾아내었으며, 회절들뜸반응에 대한 평균자유행로는 0.86±0.10m로 측정되었다. 입사중이온의 정지계 내에서 ^56Fe 중이온에 의한 80개의 회절들뜸 및 준회절들뜸반응에 대한 알파입자와 단일하전 입자의 의사신속도 분포는 각각 (γ_a-η_b)_max=3.31, (γ_a-η_b)_max=2.30에서 최대값을 갖는 가우스분포함수 형태를 이루었다. By employing the method of along-the -track scanning. the mean free path of inelastic collisions for 1.8A GeV^56Fe heavy ion in nuclear emulsion is measured to be 8.01±0.27㎝. "Diffractive Excitation" events are identified by using the KHP method and the mean free path of diffractive excitation is measured to be 0.86±0.10m. The distributions of pseudorapidities of alpha and singly-charged fragments for diffractive excitation of 1.88A GeV ^Fe heavy ion are well fitted by Gaussian distribution function with peaks having (γ_a-η_b)_max=3.30 and (γ_p-η_b)_max=2.24.
