Purpose This study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of communication and the moderated mediating effect of the role of human resource (HR) in the relationship between external-oriented organizational culture and burnout. Methods We analyzed the responses of 10,005 employees from the 2017 human capital corporate panel (HCCP) dataset with SPSS PROCESS macro. Results (1)The moderating effect of the role of HR was significant. (2)Communication partially mediated the relationship between innovative-oriented culture and burnout and fully meditated the relationship of task-oriented culture and burnout. (3)The moderated mediating effect of the role of HR was significant. Conclusion Based on the findings, the present study discussed implications on the relationship between organizational culture and burnout according to the role of HR effect.

The large-conductance calcium-activated potassium channel (BKCa channel) plays critical roles in smooth muscle relaxation. In urinary bladder smooth muscle, BKCa channel activity underlies the maintenance of the resting membrane potential and repolarization of the spontaneous action potential triggering the phasic contraction. To identify novel BKCa channel activators, we screened a library of natural compounds using a cell-based fluorescence assay and a hyperactive mutant BKCa channel (Lee et al., 2013). From 794 natural compounds, kurarinone, a flavanone from Sophora flavescens, strongly potentiated BKCa channels. When treated from the extracellular side, this compound progressively shifted the conductance-voltage relationship of BKCa channels to more negative voltages and increased the maximum conductance in a dose-dependent manner. Whereas kurarinone strongly potentiated the homomeric BKCa channel composed of only the a subunit, its effects were much smaller on heteromeric channels coassembled with auxiliary beta subunits. Although the activation kinetics was not altered significantly, the deactivation of BKCa channels was dramatically slowed by kurarinone treatment. At the single-channel level, kurarinone increased the open probability of the BKCa channel without affecting its single-channel conductance. Kurarinone potently relaxed acetylcholine-induced contraction of rat bladder smooth muscle and thus decreased the micturition frequency of rats with overactive bladder symptoms. These results indicate that kurarinone can directly potentiate BKCa channels and demonstrate the therapeutic potentials of kurarinone and its derivatives for developing antioveractive bladder medications and supplements.

Background Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations in non-small-cell lung cancer predict sensitivity to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). EGFR mutation types are associated with efficacy of EGFR TKIs. We investigated the clinical outcomes of erlotinib, gefitinib, and afatinib according to EGFR mutation type in patients with lung adenocarcinoma. Methods Between May 2010 and December 2018, we investigated 363 patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma harboring EGFR mutations who received EGFR TKIs. Efficacies of EGFR TKIs such as response rate, progression-free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS) were retrospectively evaluated according to exon 19 deletion (E19del), L858R point mutation (L858R) and uncommon mutations. Results The frequency of E19del was 48.2%, that of L858R was 42.4%, and that of uncommon mutations was 9.4%. E19del and L858R were associated with superior PFS and OS compared with uncommon mutations. Erlotinib showed significantly inferior OS than other TKIs (30.8 ± 3.3 in erlotinib vs. 48.4 ± 6.3 in gefitinib vs. 39.1 ± 4.3 in afatinib; P = 0.031) in patients with L858R. Gefitinib showed significantly inferior PFS (4.6 ± 1.1 in gefitinib vs. 10.6 ± 2.7 in erlotinib vs. 11.6 ± 2.7 in afatinib; P = 0.049) in patients with uncommon mutations. Conclusion Significant differences were found in clinical outcomes among EGFR TKIs depending on EGFR mutation type.

Amentoflavone, a biflavonoid from Selaginella tamariscina, is known to possess several bioactivities such as antitumor, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal effects. However, the mechanism of the anticancer effects of amentoflavone on human cervical cancer cells has not been studied in detail. In this study, we demonstrated that amentoflavone induces apoptosis in SiHa and CaSki cervical cancer cells by suppressing human papillomavirus protein E7 expression. The cyclins and tumor suppressors were modulated by amentoflavone in SiHa and CaSki human cervical cancer cells: cyclin and hyperphosphorylated retinoblastoma (p-pRb) were down-regulated, whereas cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors and p53 were enhanced. Amentoflavone up-regulated peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) and phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome 10 (PTEN) expression levels while inhibiting E7-mediated cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2)/interleukin-32 (IL-32) expressions were downregulated, and Akt phosphorlylation was decreased in an amentoflavone-induced apoptotic process, suggesting that amentoflavone may be a PPARγ activator. Additionally, the expression of the anti-apoptotic factor Bcl-2 was decreased, whereas that of the well-known apoptotic factor Bax was increased, thereby releasing cytochrome c into cytosol in amentoflavone-treated cervical cancer cells. Furthermore, amentoflavone treatment led to the activation of caspase-3 and -9 and proteolytic cleavage of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase. The expression level of the extrinsic death receptor Fas (CD95) was not altered by amentoflavone treatment. When these findings are taken together, the biflavonoid amentoflavone activates PPARγ/PTEN expressions and induces apoptosis via suppressing E7 expression, cell cycle arrest at sub-G1 phase, and mitochondria-emanated intrinsic pathways in SiHa and CaSki human cervical cancer cells. These findings suggest that amentoflavone has potential for development as a therapeutic agent for human cervical cancer.
Effect of Taping Therapy and Inner Arch Support on Plantar Lower Body Alignment and Gait
Lee, Sojung,Jeong, Dawun,Kim, Dong-Eun,Yi, Kyungock Korean Society of Sport Biomechanics 2017 한국운동역학회지 Vol.27 No.3
Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of taping therapy and inner arch support on pes planus lower extremity alignment and gait. Method: The study was conducted on 13 women in their 20s who had pes planus and no gait problems. Independent variables were the condition of wearing basic socks (S1) and the condition of wearing socks with taping therapy and inner arch support (S2). The dependent variables were resting calcaneal stance position (RCSP), plantar pressure distribution during gait, and underlying and medial longitudinal arch angle measured using radiography. Statistical analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test with SPSS 23.0 for comparison of S1 and S2. Results: In the RCSP measurement, the angle range of S2 changed to normal. Meary's angle appeared to be less than the angle of S1, indicating alleviation of the degree of pes planus. The calcaneal pitch angle increased at S2 from that at S1. The plantar pressure distribution was divided into four areas (toe, forefoot, midfoot, and hindfoot). At S2, the maximum pressure increased in the toe and midfoot. The maximum force increased significantly in the toe and midfoot but decreased significantly in the forefoot and hindfoot. In addition, the contact area increased overall especially at the midfoot and hindfoot. Contact time decreased in the toe and forefoot, but increased in the midfoot and hindfoot. Conclusion: Taping therapy and inner arch support showed structural improvement of the pes planus. In addition, the force and pressure applied to the foot during walking are distributed evenly in the area of the sole, thus positively affecting walking.
