        The average indoor concentration of the library's TSP was 0.03 ng/m³. TAB in library and lounge in college of engineering showed higher concentrations in corridors than indoors. The correlation coefficient between TAB and humidity is 0.985, so it is judged that there is a significant need for humidity control in indoor air quality management to reduce the concentration of total suspended bacteria(p<0.01).

      • 흡연에 의한 급성 호산구성 폐렴 2예

        최근 흡연을 시작한 젊은 성언에서 급성 호산구성 폐렴의 발생에 대한 증례가 보고되고 있다. 급성 호산구성 폐렴은 대개 발열을 동반하기 때문에 초기에는 감염성 폐렴으로 잘못 진단, 치료되는 경우가 많다. 아직 정확한 병태 생리 및 조직학적 소견은 밝혀져 있지 않지만 병력 청취 및 임상 양상, 방사선 소견의 관찰을 통해 급성 호산구성 폐렴을 의심하고, 진단을 위해 기관지 폐포 세척액 검사를 시행한다면 좀 더 쉽게 진단 내릴 수 있을 것이다. 본 저자들은 최근 처음 시작한 흡연에 의해 발생한 급성 호산구성 폐렴을 진단하고, 스테로이드를 투여하여 성공적으로 치료한 환자 2예를 경험하였기에 이를 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Acute eosinophilic pneumonia(AEP) is characterized by acute febrile respiratory illness associated with diffuse pulmonary infiltration and pulmonary eosinophilia. The specific etiology for acute eosinophilic pneumonia is elusive. By some investigators, cigarette smoking is suggested as a causative substance which can cause AEP. In recent, the authors experienced two cases of AEP following cigarette smoking. Both cases had characteristic features including age around 20 years, new onset smoking before occurance of AEP, diffuse infiltration on chest radiography, pulmonary eosinophilia based on bronchoalveolar lavage and acute improvement after steroid therapy. These clinical features are resemble with previous smoking induced AEP case reports. Base on these clinical features, cigarette smoking associated AEP could be diagnosed more easily.

        부산타워의 경관조명 색채 변화에 따른 주관적 반응 평가

        This study aims to evaluate the exterior lighting image on Susan Tower, the most representative landmark in Susan, by research and analysis with Questionnaire surveys. It has been videoed and researched with references and field surveys in order to evaluate the subjective response. Questionnaire surveys were conducted by 88 P university students and were statistically analyzed by SPSS. The results of study are as follows: ① It is analyzed that the image of Susan Tower has been improved because of the exterior lighting, but the surveys show that its general contentment is not totally satisfied. ② The pictures shown in the surveys has been analyzed that there is no difference among them whether a picture is taken in one location or in any as long as it shows all parts of Susan Tower with the exterior lighting. ③ It is suggested that well-expressed 'beauty' is advantageous to improve its image quality and contentment. ④ Factors that shows the exterior lighting image of Susan Tower are as follows: its beauty, clearness, presentation, and familiarity.

        반월형 사구체신염이 병발된 T 림프구 기원의 원발성 간림프종 1 예

        The primary lymphoma of the liver is a rare disease. We report a case of primary hepatic T-cell lymphoma associated with crescentic glomerulonephritis. The case, a 53-year-old male was presented with a 2-year history of hepatic mass and a 1-month history of foamy urine, rapidly progressive azotemia, and oliguria. The kidney biopsy revealed diffuse crescentic glomerulonephritis. The result of immunohistochemical study of liver biopsy specimen was consistent with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in T-cell lineage. Because renal function was deteriorated rapidly and there were signs of volume overload, hemodialyses were performed. Although the patient received 2 cycles of combination chemotherapy with CHOP(cyclophosphamide, vincristine, prednisolone, and doxorubicin), he did not respond and died of sepsis.

      • Biofilter 를 이용한 VOC 처리특성 및 미생물 첨가에 의한 영향 연구

        The removal effects of VOC vapors in a pilot-scale biofilter have been studied. Biofiltration test was performed in a biofilter fed downward with contaminated air at ambient conditions. The biofilter was packed with the bark of a tree(1∼2 ㎝ size). The biofilter was operated under various inlet-airstream benzene concentrations. The flow-rate and temperature in the biofilter were 0.398 L/min., 5∼15℃, respectively. We investigated the removal efficiency variation of benzene with different concentrations were changed. Also, we studied the effects of VOC treatment when microorganisms (Pseudomonas) was added to the biofilter. The results showed that the removal efficiency was fairly improved by addition of microorganisms.

        Potential Utility of Fecal Calprotectin in Discriminating Colorectal Polyps From Other Major Etiologies in Children Presenting With Isolated Hematochezia

        Background: Colorectal polyps are the most common cause of isolated hematochezia in children, which requires a colonoscopy for diagnosis. We aimed to investigate the potential utility of fecal calprotectin (FC) in assessing colorectal polyps detected by colonoscopy among children presenting with isolated hematochezia. Methods: Pediatric patients of the age of < 18 years who had undergone both colonoscopy and FC tests for isolated hematochezia from June 2016 to May 2020 were included in the present multicenter, retrospective, cross-sectional study. Comparative analysis was conducted between major causes of isolated hematochezia and FC cut-offs for discriminating colorectal polyps were explored. Results: A total 127 patients were included. Thirty-five patients (27.6%) had colorectal polyps, followed by anal fissure (14.2%), ulcerative colitis (UC; 12.6%), and others. A significant difference in FC levels was observed between patients with colorectal polyps (median, 278.7 mg/kg), anal fissures (median, 42.2 mg/kg), and UC (median, 981 mg/ kg) (P < 0.001). According to receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, among patients diagnosed with colorectal polyp or anal fissure, the most accurate FC cut-off for discriminating colorectal polyps from anal fissures on colonoscopy was 225 mg/kg (sensitivity, 59.4%; specificity, 94.4%; positive predictive value [PPV], 95.0%; negative predictive value [NPV], 56.7%; area under the curve [AUC], 0.8; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.678–0.923; P < 0.001), while among patients diagnosed with colorectal polyp or UC, the most accurate FC cut-off for discriminating colorectal polyps from UC on colonoscopy was 879 mg/kg (sensitivity, 81.2%; specificity, 56.2%; PPV, 78.8%; NPV, 60.0%; AUC, 0.687; 95% CI, 0.521–0.852; P < 0.001). Conclusion: FC may assist in assessing the cause of lower gastrointestinal tract bleeding in children who present with isolated hematochezia.

      • A study on the distribution characteristics of microplastics introduced into the water system from the paint on the Gongjicheon Stream trail

        Paint peeling was found on the pedestrian road in Gongjicheon Stream. The peeled paint was introduced into the water system in the form of microplastics, which was discussed as an environmental problem in the local community. The introduced microplastics are a mixture of chemicals that can cause water and ecological health degradation and spread along the Bukhangang River water system to the Hangang River basin. In general, microplastics refer to plastics of 5 mm or less, but in this study, microplastics in the soil were analyzed, and a total of 5 research points were designated based on the size of 2 mm or less to be quantified and qualitatively analyzed. As a result of quantitative analysis, the particle size of microplastics observed in the soil was 0.000173 mm to 2 mm and 70 near Uiamho Lake in Chuncheon MBC, 13,128 in Gongjicheon Seoksa Bridge, 17,700 between Gongjicheon Toegye Bridge and Namchuncheon Bridge, 8 in Gongjicheon Recreation Area, and 205 at Gongjicheon Gongji Bridge were detected. As a result of the analysis, at least 1.1×10<SUP>9</SUP> microplastics were calculated based on a maximum particle diameter of 2 mm and a maximum of 1.5×10<SUP>17</SUP> microplastics were calculated based on a minimum particle diameter of 0.000173 mm. As a result of qualitative analysis, the same IR value was confirmed at all wave numbers except for 1550 /cm to 1200 /cm and 700 /cm. Through IR spectral analysis, matching of OH, NH, NH amide or Aldehydes and Ketones or Ester, NH amines, C=C trans, H-C=C, C=C cis or C-Cl functional group components were confirmed. Qualitative and quantitative analyzes were able to demonstrate the release of microplastics into the surrounding soil.

      • Nonvolatile Memory Thin-Film Transistors Using Biodegradable Chicken Albumen Gate Insulator and Oxide Semiconductor Channel on Eco-Friendly Paper Substrate

        <P>Nonvolatile memory thin-film transistors (TFTs) fabricated on paper substrates were proposed as one of the eco-friendly electronic devices. The gate stack was composed of chicken albumen gate insulator and In–Ga–Zn-O semiconducting channel layers. All the fabrication processes were performed below 120 °C. To improve the process compatibility of the synthethic paper substrate, an Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> thin film was introduced as adhesion and barrier layers by atomic layer deposition. The dielectric properties of biomaterial albumen gate insulator were also enhanced by the preparation of Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> capping layer. The nonvolatile bistabilities were realized by the switching phenomena of residual polarization within the albumen thin film. The fabricated device exhibited a counterclockwise hysteresis with a memory window of 11.8 V, high on/off ratio of approximately 1.1 × 10<SUP>6</SUP>, and high saturation mobility (μ<SUB>sat</SUB>) of 11.5 cm<SUP>2</SUP>/(V s). Furthermore, these device characteristics were not markedly degraded even after the delamination and under the bending situration.         Essential Engagement of Toll-Like Receptor 2 in Initiation of Early Protective Th1 Response against Rough Variants of <i>Mycobacterium abscessus</i>

        <P>Although <I>Mycobacterium abscessus</I> (<I>M. abscessus</I>) is becoming more prevalent in patients without overt immunodeficiency, little is known about the factors that contribute to disease susceptibility. This study was undertaken to investigate how Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) functionally contributes to the generation of protective immunity against <I>M. abscessus</I> in a morphotype-specific manner. We found that <I>Tlr2</I><SUP>−/−</SUP> mice were extremely susceptible to an intravenous (i.v.) model of infection by <I>M. abscessus</I> rough variants, displaying uncontrolled infection in the lungs and a significantly lower survival rate than with wild-type (WT) mice. This uncontrolled infection resulted from failures in the following processes: (i) production of the crucial cytokines gamma interferon (IFN-γ), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), and interleukin 12p70 (IL-12p70); (ii) early infiltration of neutrophils, monocytes, and dendritic cells (DCs) in the lungs of <I>Tlr2</I><SUP>−/−</SUP> mice; (iii) rapid influx of CD4<SUP>+</SUP> and CD8<SUP>+</SUP> T cells; and (iv) the expansion of memory/effector T cells. Notably, systemic administration of <I>M. abscessus</I> culture filtrate-treated syngeneic DCs from WT mice greatly strengthened immune priming <I>in vivo</I>, resulting in a dramatic reduction in bacterial growth and improved long-term survival in <I>Tlr2</I><SUP>−/−</SUP> mice, with a recovery of protective immunity. Our findings demonstrate that TLR2 is an essential contributor to instructive and effector immunity during <I>M. abscessus</I> infection in a morphotype-specific manner.</P>
