The objective of this thesis is to investigate the influence of the initial residual stress on the fatigue crack growth after the distribution of the initial residual stress is measured when the crack is growing from the compressive residual stress to the tensile residual stress field. In the case of as welded material, respective of load ratio, the span of the fatigue is the shortest in base metal, while in weld metal and HAZ, the crack growth was retarded due to the effect of the compressive residual stress at the crack tip as well as the span of the crack is longer than base metal. In region II that is in stable growth state of the fatigue crack, da/dN=C(ΔK)^m of power law was satisfied. Also, it was considered that the value of m is not affected by residual stress. Superimposing welding residual stress intensity factor K_res on ΔK, the value of ΔK_eff calculated was lower than ΔK in the same value of da/dN, while the ΔK_eff is almost the same at the high ΔK.
硫酸鐵內의 鐵 Ion에 對한 Mo¨ssbauer 效果測定

Mo¨ssbauer spectra of Fe^2+ ion in FeSo_4·7H_O were taken at room and liquid air temperature of 300°K and 80°K respectively. The isomer shifts at these temperature were measured to be 1.07mm/sec, 1.18mm/sec. The quadrupole splittings of this sample were also observed as 3.25mm/sec and 3.44mm/sec at room and liquid air temperature. these data indicate that the isomer shifts and quadrupole splittings of Fe ion in this sample increase with the decrease of temperature. The temperature dependece of quadrupole splitting could be caused by thermal excitation of the Fe ion. and these Mo¨ssbauer patterns do not show that the magnetic hype rfine splitting.

Currently knowledge of strain in welds has mainly been obtained from strain gaging method; that is directly attaching most of the material to the gage. The very few non-contact method are still in the early stage. One of the non-contact methods is by the use of the laser that has high-level of the accuracy for the measurement, and this laser also has excellent characteristics on which many studies for its applications are focused throughout the many fields. The dissertation is on the measurement of the strain caused by the characteristics and the temperature changes of the TIG welded zone which is used with 3D ESPI system that is functionally modified through the laser ESPI system. This system employed the aluminum sheet-metal which are mainly used for the steel plate such as for the electronics, chemistry, food instrument and electronic appliances.

Background : Gastric cancer is the most common malignant tumor in Korea. surgical operation is one of the major treatment modalities for gastric cancer patients. Therefore, gastrectomy is one of the most common procedures in General Surgery. There were variation in length of hospital stay and medical treatment for gastrectomy between three surgeons at Asan Medical Center. Clinical pathways have received considerable attention as a tool for recucing the medical practice variation, increasing the efficiency of care process, and improving the quality of care. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a clinical pathway for gastrectomy in gastric cancer patients. Methods : The clinical pathway for gastrectomy was developed and implemented by a multidisciplinary group in Asan Medical Center. A computerized clinical pathway program was developed and revised after a pilot test. A total of 145 patients underwent gastrectomy by three surgeons at Asan Medical Center. We compared the length of hospital stay, patient satisfaction, and unplanned readmission rate between the pre-pathway group(n=67) and the post-pathway group(n=78). We also investigated the degree of satisfaction among the physicians and nurses who were main end-users of the clinical pathway. Results : The clinical pathway was applied to all target patients. The average length of hospital stay was shortened from 12.7days to 10.6days(p<0.01). The degree of patient satisfaction with the care process changed from 90.3% to 89.2% after the implementation of the clinical pathway, but the difference was of satistically significant(p=0.761). Unplanned readmission rate was 2.9% in the pre-pathway group. More than 90% of physicians and nurses answered that the clinical pathway had been a useful tool in their medical practice. Conclusions : The findings of the study demonstrated that implementation of the clinical pathway for gastrectomy produced substantial reduction in the length of hospital stay while improving the quality of patient outcomes. The computerized clinical pathway program can be used as one of the powerful patient management tools for reducing the practice variations and increasing the efficiency of care process in Korea hospital settings.

Characteristics of benthic microalgae and sediment properties were investigated for the intertidal flats of Kwangyang Bay, Korea. Sampling stations were selected every 100 m in the intertidal flats from land-side to open ocean at two different sampling sites. Samples were collected in June 2004, July, September, November, February and May 2005. Sediments properties were measured including temperature, water contents, sediment bulk density, nutrient concentrations in porewater. Chlorophyll a concentrations in surface sediment (0.5 cm) were measured and relationships between the chlorophyll a and various sediment properties were analyzed to identify major mechanisms regulating biomass of benthic microalgae in the intertidal flats using simple linear regression analysis. Sediment chlorophyll a concentrations were maximum during winter and minimum during warm seasons ranging from 4.4 mg $m^{-2}\;to\;81.2\;mg\;m^{-2}$. No clear spatial variations were observed for the sediment chlorophyll a in the study sites. Results from regression analysis suggested that benthic microalgae biomass was affected by sediment temperature and nutrients especially ammonium and silicate. Grazing effect was estimated using chlorophyll: pheopigments ratio, indirect indicator of grazing activity, and the positive correlation of the ratio and chlorophyll a implied that microalgae biomass is affected by grazing of zoobenthos although direct measurement of grazing activity is required to determine the importance of top-down controls in the benthic microalgae dynamics.
척추측만증의 추나 치료를 통한 Cobb`s angle 감소를 나타낸 임상 증례보고

Objectives: The Purpose of this study is to compare X-ray Cobb`s angle and clinical symptoms with a 13-years-old girl who has C-T spine 12。, T-spine 20。, T-L spine 33。 with X-ray Cobb`s angle. Methods: Clinical datas were compared visual observation (Included IBS 2000) and Cobb`s angle with X-ray Full spine A.P. and Lateral view. Results: Patient`s chief complain is scoliotic position, high left shoulder, left rib hump, hip right projection and walking disorder. Most symptoms and Cobb`s angle(C-T spine 12。→9。, T spine 20。→17。, T-L spine 33。→25。) decreased. Conclusions: We experienced improvement of symptoms to this patient by Chuna therapy.
Hydrodynamic controls on phytoplankton-nutrient dynamics in a river-dominated estuarine system

유입되는 담수의 영향을 크게 받는 한 하구 (미국 버지니아주의 요크강)의 크기별 식물성플랑크통의 역학에 대한 수리역학적 조절에 대한 조사를 위해 플랑크톤 생태계모델이 계발되었다. 모델은 요크강 하류의 상부층에서의 탄소 및 영양염의 분포를 나타내는 12개의 구성체 변수로 이루어져 있다. 빛, 온도, 바람, 해류 그리고 조수와 같이 이송과 혼합을 일으키는 물리적 변수들로 포함하고 있다. 모델은 포트란으로 계발되었고 Runge- Kutta technique을 이용해 미분방정식을 풀었다. 모델분석 결과, 크기가 큰 마이크로 식물성플랑크톤의 수화는 수체내의 생산보다는 이송이나 확산 때문에 나타나는 것임을 알 수 있었다.
