Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)는 화학적 안정성과 높은 기계적 강도를 가지고 있어 식품, 의류 등 다양한 분야에서 사용되고 있으며, 이로 인해 PET는 주요 폐플라스틱 폐기물 중 하나이다. 본 연구에서 PET를 재활용하기 위해 ethylene glycol (EG)와 glycolysis의 반응을 이용하여 단량체 회수에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 마이크로 튜빙 반응기를 사용하여 EG/PET비율 1~4, 반응시간 15~90 min, 반응온도 $250{\sim}325^{\circ}C$에서 망간, 구리 촉매 조건하에서 연구를 진행하였다. 10 wt% $Cu/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ 촉매에서 반응온도, 시간과 EG/PET의 비가 각각 $300^{\circ}C$, 30 min와 1 : 2였을 때 가장 높은 89.46%의 bis (2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate monomer (BHET) 수율을 나타내었다. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) has been widely applied in polymers and packaging industries to produce synthetic fibers, films, drink bottles or food containers. Therefore, it has become one of the major plastic wastes. In this article, glycolysis known as one of the main methods in PET chemical recycling was investigated using a glycol to break down the polymer into a monomer. Glycolysis of PET and ethylene glycol was performed in a micro-tubing reactor under various conditions. The effect of glycolysis conditions on the product distribution was investigated at experimental conditions of the EG/PET ratio of 1~4, the reaction time of 15~90 min and the reaction temperature of $250{\sim}325^{\circ}C$ with Mn and Cu catalysts. The highest yield of bis (2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate monomer (BHET) was obtained as 89.46 wt% under the condition of the reaction temperature of $300^{\circ}C$ and the time of 30 min using 10 wt% $Cu/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ catalyst, with the PET and ethylene glycol ratio of 1 : 2.
백서 적혈구에서 glutathione이 paraquat 독성에 미치는 영향

The participation of superoxide in initiating tissue damage from administration of a xenobiotics is best illustrated by paraquat intoxication, in which it is known that one electron reduction of paraquat leads to the formation of radicals which react with molecular oxygen to give superoxide. In the present study, the effects of paraquat on the level of glutathione and activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD), catalase, glutathione peroxidase, glutathione reductase and glutathione stransferase were investigated in rat liver and erythrocytes. The contents of glutathione in liver and blood were sinificantly decreased by paraquat administration, but the activities of enzymes were unaltered. Incubation of the buffered aerobic mixture of erythrocyte in the presence of 5mM glucose, Paraquat and/or N-ethylmaleimide(NEM) resulted in the formation of lipid peroxide, the activities of various enzyme and the levels of glutathione were determined. The malondialdehyde(MDA) contents as a indicator of lipid peroxidation was decreased and the levels of total glutathione were not changed but the levels of oxidized glutathione(GSSG) were in creased in paraquat treated erythrocytes. The activites of ezyme were decreased in paraquat treated erythrocytes but in reduced glutathione(GSH) treated erythrocyte, the enzymes activities were less decreased by paraquat. These results suggest that paraquat toxicity was probably somewhat reduced by GSH, but paraquat-induced injury were not increased by GSH depletion in erythrocytes.

Estimation of Cerenkov Radiation Generated in Various Dielectrics Using MCNPX Simulation

<P>To estimate Cerenkov radiation generated in various dielectric materials, in this study, we calculated therapeutic photon beams induced electron fluxes in a CaF2, PMMA, SiO2 and Al2O3 by using the Monte Carlo N-particle Extended transport code (MCNPX). Also, we clarified the relationship between electron fluxes produced in various dielectrics and energy depositions in water by irradiation of therapeutic photon beams. The electron fluxes and the energy depositions were calculated as a function of water depth.</P>
위치기반 데이터를 활용한 도시보행탐방경로와 이용자 행태의 부합성 연구

본 연구는 현재 설정되어 있는 보행탐방경로와 탐방행태의 차이점과 문제점을 실증적 방법으로 진단하고 이에 대한 개선 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 서울특별시 종로구 경복궁 서측 지역(이하 서촌) 일대의 보행탐방로 11개소를 대상으로, Tranggle 사이트에서 GPS를 기반으로 수집한 실제 탐방객들의 탐방행태, 기설정된 탐방자원 및 경로를 중첩분석하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 현재 설정된 탐방경로들은 실제 탐방객들의 탐방행태와 차이가 있었다. 탐방경로가 대상지 내의 공식화된 자원들 위주로 설정되어 있어 탐방객들에게 획일적이고 형식적인 경험을 제공하고 있었으며, 계획된 탐방경로를 따르기보다 자율적인 탐방행태를 보이는 경우도 많이 나타났다. 이 문제를 해결하려면 계획 수립단계에서부터 실제 조사된 탐방객들의 탐방행태를 반영하고, 공식 대상 경로에서는 소외되었으나 탐방객들에게 가치 있게 인식될 수 있는 자원들과도 연계를 고려하는 등의 노력이 필요하다. 중첩되는 구간이 다수 존재하는 문제점도 있다. 소수의 중복된 구간에서는 혼잡과 과밀이 발생하고 있지만, 그 외의 구간에 다양한 탐방자원이 존재함에도 불구하고 탐방빈도가 낮게 나타나고 있었다. 이에 서촌 내의 다양한 탐방자원들이 고르게 탐방 될 수 있도록 수평적이고 분산적인 탐방경로 설계가 필요하다. The purpose of this study was to diagnose the differences and problems between the currently established walking tour route and the tourist behavior by empirical methods and to suggest directions for improvement. For 11 pedestrian trails in western part of Gyeongbokgung(Seocheon), Jongno-gu, Seoul, the analysis was conducted on the basis of GPS collected from ‘Tranggle’, and the existing set of exploration resources and routes were superimposed. According to the research, existing pedestrian roads show large discrepancy with visitors’ behavior pattern and do not properly reflect various resources. In addition, they only provide uniformed and one-sided experiences; thus, visitors often derail planned route and show arbitrary visiting pattern. To solve this problems reflection of surveyed behavior pattern and consideration of connection with outer resources are needed. Moreover, some tour routes are excessively overlapping. On the contrary, although having compelling resources, other routes are ignored. Not to be visited biasedly, Seochoen’s visiting routes need to be adjusted.

Mesenteric venous thrombosis is an rare type of intestinal ischemia associated with significant mortality and morbidity because of its delay in diagnosis. Mesenteric vasculitis associated with allergic vasculitis can also produce an acute intestinal ischemia. We recently experienced a case of mesenteric venous thrombosis associated with allergic vasculitis, successfully treated with segmental bowel resection and anticoagulant therapy, we report this case with a brief review of the literatures. A 30-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of severe abdominal pain and hematochezia. Abdominal CT scan showed superior mesenteric venous thrombosis extending into main portal vein. There were large amounts of ascites and the wall of the jejunum was markedly thickened. On the 5th hospital day, his abdomen was tense and diffusely tender: bowel sounds were absent. Exploratory laparotomy was performed under the impression of intestinal infarction. At laparotomy thrombosis of the mesenteric vein and gangrene of the jejunum were found. A small bowel resection with an end-to-end anastomosis was done. Histopathological examination confirmed venous bowel gangrene and showed leukocytoclastic vasculitis, the hallmark of allergic vasculitis. The patient recovered fully and was discharged on anticoagulant therapy. At follow-up after 6 months, the patient was well with no gastrointestinal symptoms.

Henoch-$Sch\ddot{o}nlein$ purpura (HSP) is an immunologically mediated systemic vasculitis of small blood vessels that primarily involves the skin, gastrointestinal tract, joints and kidneys. HSP is a common vasculitic syndrome in children who, in most cases, achieve complete recovery. Pulmonary hemorrhage is a very rare manifestation of HSP. The authors present a case of a 46-year-old male presenting with pulmonary hemorrhage and renal involvement and the diagnosis of HSP. The patient responded to prednisolone therapy.
