        Method for Protection of Single‑Line‑Ground Fault of Distribution System with DG Using Distance Relay and Directional Relay

        When large scales DG are connected to the distribution system of unidirectional power currents, bi-directional power currents are formed, making it impossible to use conventional overcurrent protection methods alone to detect and isolate fault sections for ground and short-circuit faults. To solve these problems, this study proposed the method of protection against single-line-ground fault of common neutral line multi-contact local power distribution system using distance relay and directional relay. The proposed protection method was applied to the common neutral multi-ground distribution system to validate the protection against single-line-ground fault through the PSCAD/EMTDC software package and efectively detect and isolate only the zone of single-line-ground fault without malfunctions.

        Combining Timber Production and Wood Processing for Increasing Forestry Income: A Case Study of 6th Industrialization in Korean Forestry

        This study was aimed to analyze the increased forestry incomes by combining timber production and wood processing, which is one of 6th industrialization types in Korean forestry. The selected household has been engaged in forestry for two generations and they produce timber and associated wood products in their own facility. The wood products include dimension lumber, interior wood material, cutting board, and cube chips, the household also utilize logging and sawmill residues as well as seed and seedlings as by-products. Incomes and expenses that have been incurred on individual processes of the sequential timber production and wood processing were surveyed, and we analyzed the economic outcomes of entire business. The results of this study indicate that the gross income of the household is 122.3 million Korean won and the net income is 93.6 million Korean won. The net income of the household is approximately 2.8 times higher than the average net income of whole households in the forestry of Korea in 2016, which is approximately 4.3 times higher than that of households that have been particularly engaged in timber production over the country. We found that the 6th industrialization by combining the two sequential processes creates approximately 3.2 times as much added value compared to the case relying on timber production only.

        고랭지 농업 용수확보를 위한 소규모 빗물 이용시설 적용방안

        최근 기후변화로 지난 2009년과 2012년에 강원도 태백시에서는 가뭄으로 인하여 엄청난 피해를 경험한 적이 있다. 또한 가뭄과 장마의 예측은 점점 더 어려워져 가는 실정이다. 특히 태백시의 87일간의 가뭄과 제한급수에 따른 피해액은 일상생활 134억원, 산업부문 338억원, 공공부문 47억원, 정신적ㆍ사회적 피해 1, 430억원 등 총 1, 949억원에 달하는 것으로 분석되었다. 태백시에 또 다른 큰 문제점은 가뭄으로 인한 고랭지 농업 피해로 인한 손실이다. 고랭지 배추를 생산하는 태백시는 우리나라 유일의 고산지역의 도시로서, 고랭지 농업이 특히 발달한 지역이다. 특히 태백 고랭지 배추는 태백시 농산품의 95.9%, 총 경지면적의 86.6%를 차지하고 있으므로, 배추의 생산성이 태백시 농산품 생산성을 대변한다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 태백시의 공공기관과 고랭지 농업 지역을 직접 방문하여 소규모 빗물 이용 시설에 대한 현황조사 및 시설의 상태를 점검하고 가뭄발생시 고랭지 농업지역의 피해를 최소화 할 수 있도록 소규모 빗물 이용 시설의 적용 방안 및 효과를 분석하였다. Recently, drought and rainy season are getting more serious. It is getting hard to forecast about drought because drought frequency is getting shorter than before. In 2009(winter) and 2012(summer), Taebaek-si was suffered from enormous damage due to the drought. Particularly, in 2009, cost of damage due to drought and restriction on water supply for 87days were estimated daily life sector 134 billion won, industry sector 338 billion won, the public sector 47 billion won, mental and social damage 1, 430 billion won. The other big issue of Taebaek is decrease in products of Highland Agricultural caused by the drought. Highland chinese cabbage which is the most important agricultural product in Taebaek-si account for 95.9% of all agricultural production of Taebaek-si and account for 86.6% of all gross area. For this reason, chinese cabbage of Taebaek-si is tropical agricultural product and is in charge of supply cabbage definitely. It is considered that if small scale rainwater harvesting system would be installed in highland agriculture area, it could reduce damage of drought at low cost and damage of cabbage would be decrease by system. For this study, We have researched regarding current status of Small Scale Rainwater Harvesting System of Highland Agriculture area in Taebaek-si and have compared with the amount of damage and installation cost in case of drought for the beneficial effects of Small Scale Rainwater Harvesting System, flexible supply of water and damage minimization of agricultural products.

      • Poster Session : PS 1267 ; Pulmonology : A Case of Combined Argon Plasma Coagulation and Cryotherapy in a Patient with Solitary Endobronchial Metastasis from Colorectal Cancer

        Introduction: Colorectal cancer is common and the liver and lung are frequent metastatic sites. But single metastasis from colorectal cancer to the central airway is rare. In a fatal central airway obstruction, surgical procedures under general anesthesia were the preferred management. However in patients who are not candidates for surgical procedures, bronchoscopic approaches offered a safe and effective alternative in the palliative management of respiratory symptoms. Argon plasma coagulation (APC) is a valuable tool in treating bleeding and debulking granulation tissue and tumors. In addition cryotherapy relies on repeated cycles for tissue destruction, and spares cartilaginous structures. Case report: A 78-years-old woman was consulted to our department because of solitary endobronchial metastasis of previous colon cancer through rigid bronchoscopic biopsy. 6 years ago, she was underwent laparoscopic anterior resection due to sigmoid colon cancer. After that, she was diagnosed solitary liver and lung metastasis, so she was followed by segmentectomy and adjuvant chemotherapy. She presented severe dyspnea and Physical examination revealed severe wheezing sounds on both lung fields. Chest computed tomography (CT) scan showed about 1.5cm sized protruding mass on carina level of distal trachea. Similarly fiexible bronchoscopy revealed a polypoid mass on peri-carina region. She underwent mechanical debulking procedures using biopsy forcep after Cryotherapy and marginal APC under deep sedation with profopol, fentanyl, & bolus midazolam. After procedures, carina mass was nearly removed and both main bronchi patency were saved After that, sympoms and brochoscopic findings was improved gradually and specific complication was not observed Conclusion: We report an interesting case of the successful debukling management with combined APC and cryotherapy guided by fiexible bronchoscopy under the simple sedation in a patient with near total airway obstruction from colorectal cancer.

        Introduction: Hemobilia is a bleeding from the biliary tract and is relatively rare cause of bleeding in the digestive tract. Hemobilia is often developed due to trauma, surgery in biliary tract, gallstone, cholangitis and rarely by the tumors of the biliary tract. Biological behavior and clinical course of gallbladder adenosquamous carcinoma are not clear. Few cases of hemobilia caused by gallbladder adenosquamous carcinoma have been reported. Here, we describe a rare case of gallbladder carcinoma containing squamous component manifested by hemobilia. Case report: A 66-year-old female patient referred to our clinic due to acute cholecystitis. Patient`s symptoms are chill, fever, right upper quadrant abdominal pain for 7days. Computed tomography(CT) showed gallbladder distension, CBD dilatation and 39x25mm sized soft tissue mass with enhancement in the gallbladder. We performed ERCP for evaluation of biliary obstruction. Fresh blood was gushing out from major papilla on duodenoscopy. Cholangiography revealed amorphous fi lling defect in common bile duct with duct dilatation. We observed amorphous isoechoic lesion from proximal bile duct to distal duct in intraductal ultrasound (IDUS). We performed endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST) and removed blood coagula by basket and balloon sweeping. Biliary tract obstruction was not resolved due to persistent gallbladder bleeding. Repeated clot removal and cleansing of CBD releaved biliary obstruction and decreased liver function test. Seven days later, she underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Pathologic fi nding of gallbladder was adenosquamous carcinoma. Conclusion: Hemobilia can occur with trauma, cholelithiasis, acalculous infi ammatory disease, medical intervention, neoplastic disease and surgury. Clinical feature and course of gallbladder cancer containing squamous component is not well known. We experienced a persistent hemobilia by bleeding from adenosquamous gallbladder cancer, and resolved the CBD obstruction by EST and washing the CBD following cholecystectomy.

      • CASE REPORT : The Pterional-Transsylvian Approach for Tumor in the Temporal Horn: A Case Report

        A variety of surgical approaches to temporal horn tumors of the lateral ventricle have been described. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and angiography are the preferred modalities for preoperative evaluation and provide important information for the choice of surgical approach. A 59-year-old man was referred to our hospital due to confusion and gait disturbance. On enhanced MRI, a homogeneous enhanced solitary mass was observed within the temporal horn of the left lateral ventricle with transependymal extension. The lesion was accompanied by increased hypervascular tumor blush on preoperative cerebral angiography. Subtotal removal of the temporal horn tumor was performed because the lesion was identified as lymphoma during surgery. The postoperative course was un-eventful. The patient was referred to the oncology department for conventional chemotherapy. Adjuvant chemotherapy improved the clinical outcome. The pterional-transsylvian approach was beneficial for partial removal of the tumor and tissue diagnosis in this case.

      • Antifungal miconazole induces cardiotoxicity via inhibition of APE/Ref-1-related pathway in rat neonatal cardiomyocytes.

        <P>Effects of miconazole, an azole antifungal, have not been fully determined in cardiomyocytes. We therefore identified the transcriptome in neonatal rat cardiomyocytes responding to miconazole using DNA microarray analysis and selected a gene and investigated its role in cardiomyocytes. Miconazole dose-dependently increased the levels of superoxide (O(2)(-)) and apoptosis in cardiomyocytes; these increases were inhibited by treatment with antioxidants. The DNA microarray revealed that 4163 genes were upregulated and 4829 genes downregulated by more than threefold in miconazole-treated cardiomyocytes compared with the vehicle-treated control. Moreover, redox homeostasis-, oxidative stress-, and reactive oxygen species (ROS)-related categories of genes were strongly affected by miconazole treatment. Among genes overlapped in all these categories, apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease-1/redox factor-1 (APE/Ref-1), a redox-related gene, was prominent and was diminished in the miconazole-treated group. Changes in the O(2)(-) production and apoptosis induction in response to miconazole were inhibited in cardiomyocytes transfected with adenoviral APE/Ref-1. Overexpression of APE/Ref-1 reversed the reduction in beating frequency induced by miconazole. Our results demonstrate that miconazole may induce rat cardiotoxicity via a ROS-mediated pathway, which is initiated by the inhibition of APE/Ref-1 expression. This possible new adverse event in cardiomyocyte function caused by miconazole may provide a basis for the development of novel antifungal agents.</P>
