        Preparation and characterization of flaky FeSiAl composite magnetic powder core coated with MnZn ferrite

        The flattening of FeSiAl soft magnetic powder was achieved by ball milling process, and MnZn/FeSiAl composite magnetic powder core was prepared by press molding. The effect of different coating amount of MnZn ferrite on the soft magnetic properties of FeSiAl was studied. At the same time, the optimal stress-relieving annealing temperature of the composite magnetic powder core is revealed. The results showed that the addition of MnZn ferrite affected the magnetic properties such as saturation magnetization (Ms), initial permeability (μi) and power loss (Pcm) of FeSiAl soft magnetic. With the increase of MnZn ferrite addition content, the saturation magnetization of composites decreased gradually, and the magnetic permeability increased first and then decreased, and the loss decreased first and then increased. When the addition content of MnZn ferrite was 5%, the permeability reached the maximum, which was 28.1% higher than that of the pure FeSiAl magnetic powder core under the same conditions. At the same time, the loss was the lowest, which was 13.3% lower than the pure FeSiAl powder core under the same conditions. When the annealing temperature is around 650 °C, the magnetic powder core has the largest magnetic permeability and the lowest loss.

      • 재한 중국인 고급 취업인력의 여가활동 경험이 한국 문화적응에 미치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 한국 대학을 졸업하고 현재 한국 기업 또는 학교에서 근무하고 있는 중국인 고급 취업인력이 한국에 정착하면서 문화적응 단계는 어떻게 진행되고, 한국 문화적응 과정 속에서 그들이 참여하는 여가활동이 어떠한 역할을 담당하는지를 이해하는 데 있다. 본 연구는 2013년 7월 22일부터 2013년 11월 24일까지 총 5개월에 걸쳐 진행되었다. 심층면담과 참여관찰 자료를 분석한 결과 총 515개의 개념어가 도출되었으며, 이 개념어에 근거하여 다시 2개의 상위범주 및 11개의 하위범주로 나뉘어졌다. 상위범주는 중국인 고급 취업인력의 문화적응 단계와 한국 문화적응에서 여가활동의 역할을 살펴보았고, 하위범주는 밀월기, 문화충격기, 적응기, 숙달기, 건강 유지, 가족 유대 증진, 사회적 관계 증진, 자기개발, 심리적 안정, 정보 공유 및 수집, 부정적인 역할 등을 살펴보았다. The purpose of this study is to understand Chinese high-quality human resources, who graduate from university in South Korea and is currently working company or school in South Korea, process of settlement in South Korea and cultural adjustment process of South Korea and how leisure experiences participation impact on their adjustment. This study took 5 months, starting from July 22nd, 2013 to November 24th, 2013. During the interviews and participants observation, total of 515 key concepts was draw, and based on these key concepts 2 upper categories and 11 subcategories are divided. Upper category includes steps of cultural adapting and role of participating in the leisure activity experiences by Chinese high-quality human resources in Korea. Subcategory includes stage of; honeymoon, cultural shock, adjustment, mastery, maintain health, enhancement of family relationship, enhancement of social relationship, self-development, mental stability, sharing information, collecting data, and negative role.

        Antiglycation and Antioxidant Properties of Soy Sauces

        Diabetes-induced hyperglycemia increases formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and metalcatalyzed production of free radicals. This study compared the antioxidant capacities of dark and light soy sauces of different brands and investigated their abilities to inhibit AGEs and whether their mechanism of action was pre- or post-Amadori or involved chelation of transition metals. The antioxidant capacities of soy sauces were compared using the 2,2'-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate) method and by measuring their total phenolic contents. Model proteins (lysozyme, albumin)were glycated using fructose with or without soy sauces with subsequent analysis of cross-linked AGEs by sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The effect of soy sauces on pre- and post-Amadori inhibition of AGEs was investigated by measuring fructosamine and AGEs following reincubation of ribose-glycated (ribated) lysozyme, respectively. Dark soy sauces had higher antioxidant capacities and phenolic content and were more effective inhibitors of post-Amadori–derived cross-linked AGEs. However, light soy sauces were more effective at inhibiting fructosamine and had more potent metal chelation properties. This study reports the antiglycation properties of soy sauces, but further studies are required to determine the constituents responsible for this effect and whether soy sauce consumption can reduce oxidative stress and AGEs in diabetic subjects.

        Polymerized Ionic Liquid for the Regulation of Phase Structure of PLA/PCL Blends

        Polymerized ionic liquid containing block structure (PIL) has been used as regulator for the phase structure of poly(lactide) (PLA)/poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) blends. The phase structure, crystallization, rheology behavior and mechanical properties of PLA/PCL and PLA/PCL/PIL blends were systematically investigated. PIL could be located in PCL phase or at the PLA/PCL interface, enhancing the interaction between polymer components. The crystallization ability of PLA and PCL was simultaneously enhanced with the addition of PIL, since the plasticization effect of ionic moiety and PEO segments in PIL as well as the nucleation effect of PIL-formed ionic cluster. When PIL content was 0.5 wt%, the PLA/PCL/0.5PIL blend system exhibited much better mechanical properties than additivefree PLA/PCL blend. But as PIL contents increased, the significantly change in viscosity ratio between PLA and PCL would lead to obviously change in phase structure of PLA/PCL blend, thus the mechanical properties of the blends would be degraded.

        Contrast of sludge toxicity variation during treatment of wastewater containing mixed chlorophenols and single chlorophenol

        To address problems associated with the potential toxicity of sludge when it is applied in land utilization, this study investigated the variations by which activated sludge becomes toxic when fed with wastewater containing mixed chlorophenols, and compared variations in sludge toxicity due to inputs of mixed chlorophenols and single chlorophenol groups. In this study, 4-chlorophenol (4-CP), 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (2,4,6-TCP) and mixed chlorophenols which consist of both 4-CP and 2,4,6-TCP were studied in sequencing batch reactors (SBR). The results indicate that in 0-30 d, the toxicity of sludge fed with mixed chlorophenols is higher than that of sludge fed with single chlorophenol groups. During 50-100 d, the toxicity of sludge fed with mixed chlorophenols ranged between two single chlorophenol groups. EPS and protein in EPS had a significant relationship with sludge toxicity, but there was no significant relationship between polysaccharide in EPS and sludge toxicity.

        MondoA Is Required for Normal Myogenesis and Regulation of the Skeletal Muscle Glycogen Content in Mice

        Background: Skeletal muscle is the largest tissue in the human body, and it plays a major role in exerting force and maintaining metabolism homeostasis. The role of muscle transcription factors in the regulation of metabolism is not fully understood. MondoA is a glucose-sensing transcription factor that is highly expressed in skeletal muscle. Previous studies suggest that MondoA can influence systemic metabolism homeostasis. However, the function of MondoA in the skeletal muscle remains unclear. Methods: We generated muscle-specific MondoA knockout (MAKO) mice and analyzed the skeletal muscle morphology and glycogen content. Along with skeletal muscle from MAKO mice, C2C12 myocytes transfected with small interfering RNA against MondoA were also used to investigate the role and potential mechanism of MondoA in the development and glycogen metabolism of skeletal muscle. Results: MAKO caused muscle fiber atrophy, reduced the proportion of type II fibers compared to type I fibers, and increased the muscle glycogen level. MondoA knockdown inhibited myoblast proliferation, migration, and differentiation by inhibiting the phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN)/phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt pathway. Further mechanistic experiments revealed that the increased muscle glycogen in MAKO mice was caused by thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP) downregulation, which led to upregulation of glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4), potentially increasing glucose uptake. Conclusion: MondoA appears to mediate mouse myofiber development, and MondoA decreases the muscle glycogen level. The findings indicate the potential function of MondoA in skeletal muscle, linking the glucose-related transcription factor to myogenesis and skeletal myofiber glycogen metabolism.
