Design and Optimization of a New Half Direct-Driven MW-Scale Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Generator for Wind Turbine

        Zhu Jun,Nan Huaichun,Guo Xiangwei,Liu Penghui,Du Shaotong,Yang Ming 대한전기학회 2023 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.18 No.5

This paper designs a new MW-scale half direct-driven axial flux permanent magnet generator (HDDAFPMG), which incorporates the merits of compact structure and high power density. In order to improve the output voltage quality of the generator,a multi-objective optimization method of parameter hierarchical optimization mechanism and NSGA-II is used to optimize the key design parameters of the generator.By comparing the performance of initial and optimization model using Finite Element Method (FEM), it is found that the output voltage quality of the optimization model is significantly improved. In addition, the Halbach permanent magnet (PM) array is used to decrease the total harmonic distortion (THD) of voltage waveform and decrease the thickness of back iron.It is concluded that the generator with 60° magnetized Halbach PM array can decrease the THD of voltage waveform decreases from 2.27% to 0.46% and decrease the thickness of back iron from 36 mm to 15 mm, which is reduced by 58.33%.

        Zhu Li-na,Li Guo-lu,Wang Hai-dou,Xu Bin-shi,Zhuang Da-ming,Liu Jia-jun 한국물리학회 2009 Current Applied Physics Vol.9 No.3

The W film was prepared on 1045 steel by magnetron sputtering, with the thickness of 2 ㎛, its surface and cross-section morphologies were investigated with SEM, and the phase structure was analyzed with XRD. X-ray stress determinator was utilized to measure its residual stress, and the nano-hardness and elastic modulus of the film were surveyed by nano-indentation tester. The results show that the surface of W film is very compact and smooth; the particles arranged regularly, the granularity of the thin film is about 1 ㎛. The microcracks, cavities and desquamation were not found in the film and interface, and the bonding between the W film and substrate is well. The XRD results showed that the W film had a body-centered cubic structure, the lattice constant: ɑ = 0.316 nm, the growth preferred orientations are (110) and (220). The compressive stress (-169 MPa) was found on the surface. The average nano-hardness and elastic modulus of W film are 15.22 GPa, 176.64 GPa, respectively, and the mechanical properties of W film are well. Research on Flame Retardant Formaldehyde-Free Plywood Glued by Aqueous Polymer Isocyanate Adhesive

        ( Ming-yu Wen ),( Jia-zhi Zhu ),( Meng Zhu ),( Yao-xing Sun ),( Hee-jun Park ),( Junyou Shi ) 한국목재공학회 2020 목재공학 Vol.48 No.5

Due to pronounced mechanical performance and being environmental friendly, aqueous polymer isocyanate adhesive (API) has been widely applied in the production of formaldehyde-free wood products. In this study, flame retardant formaldehyde-free plywood was prepared by incorporation of flame retardants into the API adhesive. Partially phosphorylated poly (vinyl alcohol) (PPVA) which was prepared by reacting poly (vinyl alcohol) with phosphoric acid was used to replace PVA in API formula. In addition, Mg-Al layered double hydroxides (LDH) was chosen as additive flame retardant, replacing traditional filler CaCO3 in API adhesive formula. And then, the flame retardant API adhesive with main agent (PPVA replacing PVA70wt.%, SBR emulsion 30wt.%), curing agent 10wt.% (accounts for of the main agent), and 20wt.% LDHs (accounts of the main agent) was used to prepare flame retardant plywood. The effect of application of PPVA and Mg-Al LDH on bonding strength of plywood was investigated. The flammability characteristics of the plywood were determined by cone calorimeter test (CCT). The results revealed that compared with the plywood prepared with API adhesive, the use of PPVA and LDH enhanced the flame retardancy of plywood without negatively affecting bonding strength. The CCT tests indicated that the heat release and smoke production flame retardant API plywood were lower than those of the ordinary API glued plywood. Promising developments for flame retardant API adhesive were expected in future applications of flame retardant formaldehyde-free plywood.

      • Efficacy and Safety of Bevacizumab in Chinese Patients with Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

        Zhu, Li-Ming,Zhao, Ya-Zhen,Ju, Hai-Xing,Liu, Lu-Ying,Chen, Lei,Liu, Bi-Xia,Xu, Qi,Luo, Cong,Ying, Jie-Er,Yang, Yun-Shan,Zhong, Hai-Jun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.16

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of bevacizumab in the treatment of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Methods: In a single-center, observational study of 91 Chinese patients with mCRC who received bevacizumab in combination with chemotherapy was conducted. Objective response rates (ORRs), progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS) and adverse events were recorded, and the relationships between various clinical factors and PFS or OS were evaluated by Cox proportional hazards models. Results: Treatment with bevacizumab and chemotherapy was effective and tolerable. Univariate analysis showed that PFS and OS were significantly associated with the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (ECOG-PS) score, duration of bevacizumab exposure, and whether chemotherapy was continued after discontinuation of bevacizumab treatment. A multivariate analysis showed that the duration of bevacizumab exposure and whether chemotherapy was continued after discontinuation of bevacizumab were independent prognostic factors for PFS and OS. Conclusion: In Chinese mCRC population, the shorter the duration of exposure to bevacizumab and chemotherapy, the worse the prognosis is.

Preparation of Flame Retardant and Antibacterial Wood with Composite Membrane Coating

        ( Jun-xian Xu ),( Yang Liu ),( Ming-yu Wen ),( Hee-jun Park ),( Jia-zhi Zhu ),( Yu-nan Liu ) 한국목재공학회 2021 목재공학 Vol.49 No.6

A novel flame retardant and antibacterial composite membrane coating for wood surfaces was prepared by adding POSS-based phosphorous nitrogen flame retardant (later referred to as NH2-POSS) and silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) to chitosan (CS). The effects of NH2-POSS content (mass fractions of CS 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7%) on the structure and properties of the composite membrane coating on wood were investigated. The composite film was prepared by the method of blending and ducting. Contact angle, tensile property and antibacterial effects of the composite film were measured, and infrared spectroscopy was used. The results show that the addition of NH2-POSS can not only improve the toughness of the membrane, but also the flame retardancy of the membrane, which improves the application of the membrane in wood products. However, with the addition of NH2-POSS, the transparency of the composite membrane was weakened. The inhibitory effect of the composite membrane on the growth of Escherichia coli was enhanced with the increase in Ag NPs. This research provides a foundation for the application of functional wood.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal diversity, root colonization, and soil alkaline phosphatase activity in response to maize-wheat rotation and no-tillage in North China

        Junli Hu,Anna Yang,Anning Zhu,Junhua Wang,Jue Dai,Ming Hung Wong,Xiangui Lin 한국미생물학회 2015 The journal of microbiology Vol.53 No.7

Monitoring the effects of no-tillage (NT) in comparison with conventional tillage (CT) on soil microbes could improve our understanding of soil biochemical processes and thus help us to develop sound management strategies. The objective of this study was to compare the species composition and ecological function of soil arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi during the growth and rotation of crops under NT and CT. From late June 2009 to early June 2010, 32 topsoil (0–15 cm) samples from four individual plots per treatment (CT and NT) were collected at both the jointing and maturation stages of maize (Zea mays L.) and wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) from a long-term experimental field that was established in an Aquic Inceptisol in North China in June 2006. The AM fungal spores were isolated and identified and then used to calculate species diversity indices, including the Shannon- Wiener index (H ), Evenness (E), and Simpson’s index (D). The root mycorrhizal colonization and soil alkaline phosphatase activity were also determined. A total of 34 species of AM fungi within nine genera were recorded. Compared with NT, CT negatively affected the soil AM fungal community at the maize sowing stage, leading to decreases in the average diversity indices (from 2.12, 0.79, and 0.82 to 1.79, 0.72, and 0.74 for H , E, and D, respectively), root mycorrhizal colonization (from 28% to 20%), soil alkaline phosphatase activity (from 0.24 to 0.19 mg/g/24 h) and available phosphorus concentration (from 17.4 to 10.5 mg/kg) at the maize jointing stage. However, reductions in diversity indices of H , E, and D were restored to 2.20, 0.81, and 0.84, respectively, at the maize maturation stage. CT should affect the community again at the wheat sowing stage; however, a similar restoration in the species diversity of AM fungi was completed before the wheat jointing stage, and the highest Jaccard index (0.800) for similarity in the species composition of soil AM fungi between CT and NT was recorded at the wheat maturation stage. Our results also demonstrated that NT resulted in the positive protection of the community structure of AM fungi and played an important role in maintaining their functionality especially for maize seedlings.

Microbiome-metabolomics analysis of the effects of decreasing dietary crude protein content on goat rumen mictobiota and metabolites

        Zhu Wen,Liu Tianwei,Deng Jian,Wei Cong Cong,Zhang Zi Jun,Wang Di Ming,Chen Xing Yong 아세아·태평양축산학회 2022 Animal Bioscience Vol.35 No.10

Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of decreasing dietary crude protein content on rumen fermentation, mictobiota, and metabolites in goats. Methods: In an 84-day feeding trial, a total of twelve male Anhui white goat kids with initial body weight 15.9±1.13 kg were selected and randomly classified into two groups, feeding a normal crude protein diet (14.8% CP, NCP) or a low crude protein diet (12.0% CP, LCP). At the end of the experimental trial (on day 84), six animals were randomly selected from each group and were slaughtered to collect rumen fluid samples for the analysis of rumen fermentation parameters, microbiome, and metabolome. Results: The concentrations of ammonia-nitrogen, total volatile fatty acid, acetate, and propionate were decreased (p<0.05) in the LCP group in comparison with those in the NCP group. The abundances of genera Prevotella, Campylobacter, Synergistetes, and TG5, which were associated with nitrogen metabolism, were lower (p<0.05) in the LCP group compared with those in the NCP group. The levels of 78 metabolites (74 decreased, 4 increased) in the rumen fluid were altered (p<0.05) by the treatment. Most of the ruminal metabolites that showed decreased levels in the LCP group were substrates for microbial protein synthesis. Metabolic pathway analysis showed that vitamin B6 metabolism was significantly different (p<0.05) in rumen fluid between the two treatments. Conclusion: Decreased dietary protein level inhibited rumen fermentation through microbiome and metabolome shifts in goat kids. These results enhance our understanding of ruminal bacteria and metabolites of goat fed a low protein diet. Effects of Lactobacillus salivarius Ren on cancer prevention and intestinal microbiota in 1, 2-dimethylhydrazine-induced rat model

        Ming Zhang,Xing Fan,Bing Fang,Chengzhen Zhu,Jun Zhu,Fazheng Ren 한국미생물학회 2015 The journal of microbiology Vol.53 No.6

Probiotics have been suggested as a prophylactic measure in colon cancer. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of Lactobacillus salivarius Ren (Ren) in modulating colonic microbiota structure and colon cancer incidence in a rat model after injection with 1,2-dimethyl hydrazine (DMH). The results indicated that oral administration of Ren could effectively suppress DMH-induced colonic carcinogenesis. A significant decrease in cancer incidence (87.5% to 25%) was detected in rats fed with a dose of 5 × 1010 CFU/kg bodyweight per day. Using denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis and Real-time PCR combined with multivariate statistical methods, we demonstrated that injection with DMH significantly altered the rat gut microbiota, while Ren counteracted these DMH-induced adverse effects and promoted reversion of the gut microbiota close to the healthy state. Tvalue biplots followed by band sequencing identified 21 bacterial strains as critical variables affected by DMH and Ren. Injection of DMH significantly increased the amount of Ruminococcus species (sp.) and Clostridiales bacteria, as well as decreasing the Prevotella sp. Administration of Ren reduced the amount of Ruminococcus sp., Clostridiales bacteria, and Bacteroides dorei, and increased the amount of Prevotella. Real-time PCR results were consistent with the results derived by t-value biplots. These findings suggested that Ren is a potential agent for colon cancer prevention. In conclusion, the results in the present study suggest a potential therapeutic approach based on the modulation of intestinal microflora by probiotics may be beneficial in the prevention of colorectal carcinogenesis.
