Wang, Lian-Jun,Hu, Feng-Feng Korean Chemical Society 2010 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.31 No.5
A new chiral catalyst was synthesized and found that it could catalyzed the asymmetric Michael reaction of ketones with nitroolefins smoothly at room temperature, giving the desired adducts in 71 - 92% yields with excellent diastereoselectivities and high enantioselectivities (up to 95% ee).

Study on Synthesis of PAEKs Containing Triazole Units through Click Reaction and Their Properties
Lian-jun Wang,Jie Li,Le-yong Wang 대한화학회 2011 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.32 No.9
A series of novel linear aromatic ether ketone polymers containing triazole units were synthesized by click chemistry and their structures and properties were characterized by FT-IR, ^1H NMR, GPC, TGA, DSC and WAXD. The results showed that these polymers exhibited relatively small molecular weights distributions, good thermal stability and solvent-repelling which could have potential applications as engineering thermoplastic.
Chemical Modification of Poly(vinylacetylene) and Synthesis of Poly(1,2,3-triazole)s
Lian-jun Wang,Shan Liao,Le-yong Wang 대한화학회 2011 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.32 No.5
A series of new polymers containing 1,2,3-triazoles were synthesized and their structures and properties were characterized by FT-IR, ^1H NMR, TGA, DSC and GPC. The results showed that the polymers modified by alkyl groups had good solubility, thermal stability and reasonable molecular weights. It was also demonstrated that the properties of fluorine-containing polymers were seriously affected by fluorine atoms with hydrophobic and chemical proof properties

Background: To investigate the effects of preemptive analgesia with parecoxib sodium on haemodynamics and plasma stress hormones in surgical patients with thyroid carcinoma. Materials and Methods: Fifty-seven patients with thyroid carcinoma who underwent thyroidectomy selectively in Laiwu Hospital Affiliated to Taishan Medical University and Binzhou People's Hospital were selected and randomly divided into three groups, 19 cases in each group. The control group was intravenously injected 0.9% sodium chloride injection before anesthesia induction; trial group I was intravenously injected with parecoxib sodium 20 min before anesthesia induction; based on trial group I, trial group II was injected with parecoxib sodium again 12 h after surgery. The levels of plasma norepinephrine (NE), cortisol (Cor) and blood glucose before, 12 and 24 h after surgery and changes of haemodynamics before surgery, at the end of surgery and 12, 24 and 48 h after surgery were compared in the three groups. Besides, visual analogue scale (VAS) scores were recorded 4, 8, 12 and 24 h after surgery. Results: 12 and 24 h after surgery, the levels of plasma NE and Cor in three groups rose dramatically (P<0.05 or (P<0.01); The levels of plasma NE and Cor in trial groups I and II were evidently lower than in control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01), and those in trial group II slightly lower than in trial group I. 12 h after surgery, the heart rates (HR) and systolic pressures (SBP) in trial groups I and II increased obviously by comparison to surgery before (P<0.05 or P<0.01), but gradually returned to the preoperative level. HR, SBP and diastolic pressures (DBP) in trial groups I and II at the end of surgery and 12 h after surgery were all lower than in the control group, and significant differences were present (P<0.05 or (P<0.01). At 4, 8, 12 and 24 h after surgery, VAS scores in trial groups I and II were markedly lower than in the control group (P<0.05 or (P<0.01), the scores in trial group II being the lowest. Conclusions: Combined application of parecoxib sodium for preemptive analgesia before anesthesia and after surgery can effectively reduce the levels of plasma stress hormones and improve analgesic effects in surgical patients with thyroid carcinoma, and without conspicuous impact on haemodynamics.

Background and Purpose The aim of this study was to identify the clinical characteristics and potential mechanisms relevant to pathological proteins in Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients who experience fatigue. Methods PD patients (n=102) were evaluated using a fatigue severity scale and scales for motor and nonmotor symptoms. The levels of three pathological proteins—α-synuclein oligomer, β-amyloid (Aβ)1-42, and tau—were measured in 102 cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples from these PD patients. Linear regression analyses were performed between fatigue score and the CSF levels of the above-listed pathological proteins in PD patients. Results The frequency of fatigue in the PD patients was 62.75%. The fatigue group had worse motor symptoms and anxiety, depression, and autonomic dysfunction. The CSF level of α-synuclein oligomer was higher and that of Aβ1-42 was lower in the fatigue group than in the non-fatigue group. In multiple linear regression analyses, fatigue severity was significantly and positively correlated with the α-synuclein oligomer level in the CSF of PD patients, after adjusting for confounders. Conclusions PD patients experience a high frequency of fatigue. PD patients with fatigue have worse motor and part nonmotor symptoms. Fatigue in PD patients is associated with an increased α-synuclein oligomer level in the CSF
Histological Changes of Tissues and Cell Wall of Rice Straw Influenced by Chemical Pretreatments
Wang, Jia-Kun,Chen, Xiao-Lian,Liu, Jian-Xin,Wu, Yue-Ming,Ye, Jun-An Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2008 Animal Bioscience Vol.21 No.6
Sodium hydroxide (SH) or ammonium bicarbonate (AB) were applied to rice straw to investigate the effects on histological change of stem tissue or cell wall before and after in sacco degradation using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and a transmission electron microscope (TEM). The SEM revealed that, the parenchyma and vascular bundles were distorted by treatment with SH at 30 or 45 g/kg straw dry matter. Faultage between phloem of large vascular bundles and parenchyma occurred with further increasing SH to 60 or 75 g/kg. The cell wall in these stem tissues was crimped when observed by TEM. However, only parenchyma and large vascular tissues were slightly distorted in AB-treated stem. For untreated and AB-treated stems, the initiation of observable ruminal degradation of cell wall was prolonged from 12 h for inner parenchyma to 24 h for sclerenchyma and to 48 h for phloem of small vascular bundles, while the outer epidermis was intact even at 72 h. For SH-treated stem, however, the cell wall from all of the investigated tissues, epidermis, small vascular bundles, sclerenchyma, and parenchyma started to be degraded at 12 h incubation. These results indicate that SH treatment contracts rice straw stem leading to an improvement in rumen degradation, and that the degradation of SH-treated stem is bilateral from inner and outer surface simultaneously.
