      • 구조적 손상을 입은 철근콘크리트 보의 보강 효과에 관한 연구

        This study conducted bending experiment to examine reinforcing effects after preloading of reinforced concrete by reinforcing materials and obtained the following conclusions. To sum up experimental results, it was found that CFS reinforced specimens were excellent in improving bending force and ductility capacity and CB reinforced specimen showed higher reinforcing effects. GFS reinforced specimen had lower reinforcing effects due to lower attachment than fiber reinforced material CFS. GSP reinforced specimen had larger internal force than other reinforced specimens, but it showed the lowest reinforce effects due to its low attachment to concrete and GSP reinforcing specimen showed the same or higher reinforcing effects than other reinforcing materials if its attachment to concrete is improved.

      • Diazepam과 Lidocaine이 노인환자의 기관내삽관시 심전도 및 심맥관계에 미치는 영향

        We selected at random 30 geriatric patients who had received operation under the general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation. The patients were divided into 3 groups. Group 1 (control) had received endotracheal intubation without diazepam and lidocaine. Group 2 had received endotracheal intubation with diazepam. Group 3 had received endotracheal intubation with lidocaine. The changes of arterial blood pressure and pulse rate, and the appearance of arrhythmia were compared in each group. The results were as follows : 1. The increase of blood pressure and heart rate were less in group 2, 3 than the control group which showed significant increase of blood pressure and heart rate with endotracheal intubation. 2. The incidence of arrhythmias with endotracheal intubation was less in group 2(20%), group 3(50%) than the control group(80%). 3. The electrocardiographic change in the group 2 and 3 were not significant compared to group 1(control).

      • Immunocytochemical staining of p16<sup>ink4a</sup> protein as an adjunct test in equivocal liquid-based cytology

        <P>For cervical cancer screening, HPV-DNA test is expensive and is not easily available in all clinical situations. Thus, we investigated the role of p16<SUP>ink4a</SUP> immunostaining as another adjunct test to diagnose cervical neoplasia in equivocal liquid based cytology. Eighty-seven patients were randomly selected for this study (3 patients with normal, 84 patients with abnormal including 24 ASCUS, 30 LSIL, and 30 HSIL). We performed p16<SUP>ink4a</SUP> immunostaining on ThinPrep® slide and on each case from the corresponding cervical biopsy tissues. High-risk HPV-DNA testing was also performed on all the subjects. We found that the immunoreactivity of p16<SUP>ink4a</SUP> is strongly correlated with the grade of cytologic and histologic diagnoses as well as with Hybrid Capture 2. In comparing the p16<SUP>ink4a</SUP> immunostaining with the Hybrid Capture 2 for accuracy of the diagnosis of CIN II/III or a higher-grade disease in the case of ASCUS/LSIL on ThinPrep®, no significant differences were observed. Our data implies that p16<SUP>ink4a</SUP> immunocytochemical staining in liquid-based cytology specimens might be used as a good adjunct test to predict cervical histology in equivocal ThinPrep® tests.         The axon guidance defect of the telencephalic commissures of the JSAP1-deficient brain was partially rescued by the transgenic expression of JIP1

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>The JNK interacting protein, JSAP1, has been identified as a scaffold protein for mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathways and as a linker protein for the cargo transport along the axons. To investigate the physiological function of JSAP1 in vivo, we generated mice lacking JSAP1. The JSAP1 null mutation produced various developmental deficits in the brain, including an axon guidance defect of the corpus callosum, in which phospho-FAK and phospho-JNK were distributed at reduced levels. The axon guidance defect of the corpus callosum in the <I>jsap1</I><SUP><I>−/−</I></SUP> brain was correlated with the misplacement of glial sling cells, which reverted to their normal position after the transgenic expression of JNK interacting protein 1(JIP1). The transgenic JIP1 partially rescued the axon guidance defect of the corpus callosum and the anterior commissure of the <I>jsap1</I><SUP><I>−/−</I></SUP> brain. The JSAP1 null mutation impaired the normal distribution of the Ca<SUP>+2</SUP> regulating protein, calretinin, but not the synaptic vesicle marker, SNAP-25, along the axons of the thalamocortical tract. These results suggest that JSAP1 is required for the axon guidance of the telencephalic commissures and the distribution of cellular protein(s) along axons in vivo, and that the signaling network organized commonly by JIP1 and JSAP1 regulates the axon guidance in the developing brain.</P>

        하시모토 갑상선염을 동반한 유두상 갑상선암의 임상병리학적 특징

        Purpose: Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) is an important cause of hypothyroidism caused by autoimmune chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis. In order to attain a better understanding for use in treatment of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) coexisting with HT, we conducted an analysis of the clinicopathologic features, as well as the importance of HT as a prognostic factor. Methods: In this retrospective study, we analyzed 341 patients who were histopathologically diagnosed with PTC following surgery. Results: PTC coexisting with HT was observed in 19.6% (67 patients) of all PTC patients. A statistically significant gender difference was observed in the group with HT (two male vs. 65 female), with a higher positive rate of anti-thyroglobulin antibody and smaller tumor size, compared to the PTC group without HT. When tumor size increased, a lower coexistence rate of HT was observed. No significant differences were observed in multifocality, cervical lymph node (LN) metastasis, coexistence of benign nodule, and extent of LN dissection. However, frequency of extrathyroidal extension was significantly lower and total thyroidectomy rate was higher in the group with HT. TNM stage and AMES stage were similar in both groups; frequency of high MACIS score showed a significant decrease in the group with HT. The recurrence rate and disease-free survival in patients with PTC were not significantly affected by coexistence of HT. Conclusion: We found a significant relationship with gender, extrathyroidal extension, and tumor size in PTC coexisting with HT. However, no significant differences in recurrence rate and disease-free survival were observed between groups. Therefore, coexistence in PTC could not be applicable as a prognostic factor of PTC.

        Morphology and Rheology on the Blends of PLA/CMPS

        The rheological behaviors and morphologies of polylactide (PLA) and chemically modified plasticized starch (CMPS) blends were investigated. For this study, oscillatory shear flow measurements of the PLA, CMPS and their blends were performed. A scanning electron microscope (SEM) study was also conducted on the extracted extrudates of the blends. The morphology of the blend changed in relation to the composition: sphere-shaped CMPS disperse/continuous PLA, rod-like deformed CMPS phase/continuous PLA, a co-continuous structure with bridged CMPS long rods and PLA dispersed/continuous CMPS. The composition of the phase inversion could be estimated and closely coincided from the observed morphology experimental results. The rheological behavior of the blends, from oscillatory measurements, was found to vary in relation to the composition, and reflected the morphologies of the blends. PLA showed Newtonian flow behavior, while CMPS showed strong shear thinning behavior. The relationships between the morphology and rheological properties were observed in detail.

        This study investigates the possibility and the propriety of a span divided construction method to the continuous reinforced concrete slab bridges which span a small river. This method will be used to maintain a water course when a heavy rain visited the area. And also it makes a term of construction works to reduce about 2 weeks than the general existing methods. There are some bending moment which exceed the design values and some residual bending moment in the 1st construction span. The calculated additional expanses of steel bar is below 5%, and this is less than the purchasing cost of the reducing overflow pipes.

        Effect of Surface Plasma Treatment on Physicochemical Characteristics of Rigid Gas Permeable Contact Lens

        목적: 플라즈마 표면처리가 불화규소 아크릴레이트 재질의 RGP 콘택트렌즈의 물리화학적 특성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 방법: RGP 렌즈 표면의 플라즈마 처리는 공기 중 상온에서 200 W로 수행하였으며, 처리시간은 0∼250초로 다르게 하였다. 습윤성을 평가하기 위해 접촉각을 측정하였다. 표면 성분은 X-선광전자분광분석기(XPS)로 관찰하고, 플라즈마 처리에 의한 실리케이트의 형성을 분석하였다. 표면의 형상과 거칠기는 원자현미경(AFM)으로 관찰하였다. 산소침투성의 변화는 전기분해 분석법으로 얻은 렌즈의 투과 전류값과 중심두께를 측정하여 비교하였다. 결과: 플라즈마로 표면 처리되면 초기에 접촉각이 급격히 감소하였으며, 처리되지 않은 표면에 비해 30%까지 감소하였다. 표면 성분의 탄소와 불소는 70% 이하로 감소했으나, 산소와 실리콘은 150% 이상 증가하였다. 표면에서 탄소가 감소하는 형태는 접촉각의 변화와 직접적으로 관계가 있었다. 플라즈마 표면처리에 의해 표면의 탄소와 불소는 휘발하고, 유리된 실리콘이 산소와 결합하여 표면에 친수성 실리케이트(SiOx, x=1.5∼2.0)가 형성되며, 실리케이트는 50% 이상 크게 증가하였다. 플라즈마 처리된 표면에서 원형이나 직각형의 돌출부가 관찰되고, 거칠기(RMS)는 40% 이상 증가하였다. 결론: RGP 콘택트렌즈를 공기 중에서 플라즈마 처리하면 표면에 친수성인 실리케이트가 형성되어 습윤성은 개선되지만 산소침투성에는 영향을 주지 않았다. 습윤성의 증가는 표면형상의 변화보다는 실리케이트의 형성이 더 큰 영향을 준 것으로 판단되었다. 또한 플라즈마 처리에 의해 표면에 국한되어 형성된 실리케이트가 열린 구조를 갖고 있어 산소침투성에 유의한 변화가 없었던 것으로 생각된다. Purpose: To analyze the effect of plasma surface treatment on the physicochemical properties of various fluorosilicone acrylate-based rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lenses. Methods: Plasma treatment of the RGP lens surfaces was performed at room temperature using a power of 200W. Lenses were treated for varying durations from 0∼250 seconds. In order to determine wettability of the lens surface, the contact angle was measured. Surface composition was observed using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), and the formation of hydrophilic silica-like structures were measured. Surface morphology and roughness were observed using atomic force microscopy(AFM). Change in oxygen permeability (Dk) was compared using polarography and center thickness measurements. Results: Following plasma surface treatment, the wetting angle decreased sharply in the initial stage and decreased up to 30% compared to untreated surfaces. The carbon and fluorine contents to below 70 at. % (atomic percent); however, oxygen and silicone contents increased to above 150 at. % on the surface. The decrease in surface carbon correlates directly with the decrease in the contact angle. Plasma surface treatments caused carbon and fluorine on the surface to become volatile. Subsequently, extricated silicon and oxygen combined at the surface to form hydrophilic silicate (SiOx, x=1.5∼2.0)-increasing the overall amount of silicate bonds by over 50 at. %. Circular or rectangular projections were observed on plasma-treated surface, and roughness (RMS) increased by over 40%. Conclusions: When RGP contact lenses were treated with plasma in the air, hydrophilic silicate was formed on the surface-improving wettability but without affecting oxygen permeability. It is considered that the increase in wettability was influenced more by the formation of silicate than by a change in surface morphology. Also, it is considered that the changes in oxygen permeability is not significant because silicate, which formed limitedly on the surface by plasma treatment, has an open structure.
