        과학 교육에서 STS 수업모형의 적용효과에 대한 메타 분석

        이 연구의 목적은 STS 과학교육에 대한 국내 연구의 동향을 분석하고 메타분석을 통해 STS 수업모형의 적용효과를 평가하는데 있다. 연구대상 논문은 1991년부터 2006년까지 출판된 석사학위 논문 104편과 과학교육 저널에 출판된 논문 78편을 포함한 총 180편이었다. STS 수업 모형의 효과 평가에 총 56편이 선정되었다. STS 수업 모형 적용 효과의 평균효과크기는 0.40이었다. 이 결과는 STS 수업은 학생들의 과학에 대한 태도, 과학 학업 성취도, 탐구능력, 환경에 대한 태도 및 환경에 대한 지식을 향상시키는데 전통적인 수업보다 긍정적인 효과가 있었음을 의미한다. STS 수업은 환경에 대한 태도의 증진에 가장 큰 평균효과 크기를 나타내었다. 그러므로, STS 수업에서 가장 좋은 효과를 얻기 위해서는 이러한 결과들을 반영하는 것이 필요할 것이다. 향후 STS 교육에 대한 전반적인 평가를 하기 위해서는 STS 수업 모형의 효과와 과학-기술-사회의 상호관계에 대한 교사와 학생들의 이해에 대한 연구 결과를 종합하는 것이 필요하다. The purposes of this study were to analyze the domestic research trend of the STS Education and to evaluate the application effects of STS teaching model by using Meta-analysis. The selected research articles were 180 articles including 104 of the master’s theses and 76 of science education journal articles published from 1991 to 2006. For the evaluation of the effects of STS teaching and learning model, 56 articles were selected finally. The mean effect size of the application effects of STS teaching and learning was 0.40. The result indicated that STS teaching had more positive effects than the traditional teaching on enhancing student's attitude for science, academic achievement in science, inquiry ability, attitude for environment and knowledge for environment. Especially, it had shown the most positive effects on improvement in the attitude for environment. Therefore, it might be better to reflect these results for the best effect of STS teaching. To assess STS education on the whole, it is necessary to synthesize the effects of STS teaching and learning model and the results of the study on teachers’ and students’ understanding about the interrelation of science, technology and society.

        위절제술 환자의 표준진료지침 개발 및 적용 효과

        Background : Gastric cancer is the most common malignant tumor in Korea. surgical operation is one of the major treatment modalities for gastric cancer patients. Therefore, gastrectomy is one of the most common procedures in General Surgery. There were variation in length of hospital stay and medical treatment for gastrectomy between three surgeons at Asan Medical Center. Clinical pathways have received considerable attention as a tool for recucing the medical practice variation, increasing the efficiency of care process, and improving the quality of care. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a clinical pathway for gastrectomy in gastric cancer patients. Methods : The clinical pathway for gastrectomy was developed and implemented by a multidisciplinary group in Asan Medical Center. A computerized clinical pathway program was developed and revised after a pilot test. A total of 145 patients underwent gastrectomy by three surgeons at Asan Medical Center. We compared the length of hospital stay, patient satisfaction, and unplanned readmission rate between the pre-pathway group(n=67) and the post-pathway group(n=78). We also investigated the degree of satisfaction among the physicians and nurses who were main end-users of the clinical pathway. Results : The clinical pathway was applied to all target patients. The average length of hospital stay was shortened from 12.7days to 10.6days(p<0.01). The degree of patient satisfaction with the care process changed from 90.3% to 89.2% after the implementation of the clinical pathway, but the difference was of satistically significant(p=0.761). Unplanned readmission rate was 2.9% in the pre-pathway group. More than 90% of physicians and nurses answered that the clinical pathway had been a useful tool in their medical practice. Conclusions : The findings of the study demonstrated that implementation of the clinical pathway for gastrectomy produced substantial reduction in the length of hospital stay while improving the quality of patient outcomes. The computerized clinical pathway program can be used as one of the powerful patient management tools for reducing the practice variations and increasing the efficiency of care process in Korea hospital settings.

        대전시 노은 도매시장 채소류의 농약 잔류 실태 및 식이섭취량 추정

        대전시 노은 도매시장에서 채취한 6종의 채소류 중 농약잔류량을 조사한 후 이에 대한 위해성 평가를 실시하였다. 전체 100건의 분석시료 중 농약이 검출된 시료의 비율은 46.0%이었고, 잔류허용기준 초과비율은 6.0% 이었다. 검출비율이 높은 시료는 상추(85.0%), 깻잎(80.0%), 오이(60.0%) 순이었고, 상추 3건, 깻잎 3건이 허용기준을 초과하였다. 살균제는 dicar-boximide계, 유기염소계, azole계 농약, 살충제는 유기인계, 합성 pyrethroid계 농약이 많이 검출되었다. 검출빈도가 높은 성분은 procymidone, chlorpyrifos, chlorothalonil, cypermethrin, EPN의 순이었다. 위해성을 평가하기 위해서 각 농작물에 대한 농약의 추정 섭취량과 ADI를 비교한 결과, 허용기준을 초과한 깻잎의 bitertanol, triflumizole, iprobenphos가 다른 성분에 비하여 높은 비율을 보였다. 그러나 각 농산물의 식이섭취량이 적어 ADI에 대한 추정섭취량의 비율이 0.46%이하로 나타나 그 영향이 매우 낮은 것으로 판단되었다. Pesticide residues in some vegetables collected at Noeun wholesale market in Daejeon were surveyed and assessed their risk In 100 samples, the detection rate of pesticide was 46.0% and the rate exceed MRL was 6.0%. Commodities showing high detection rate were lettuce(85.0%), perilla leaf(80.0%) and cucumber(60.0%). Dicarboximide, organochlorine, and azole fungicides and organophosphorus and pyrethroid insecticides were detected. Detection frequency of pesticide was in the order of procymidone, chlorpyrifos, chlerothalonil, cypermethrin and EPN. When the estimated intake amount of the pesticides were compared with ADI to assess their risk, bitertanol, triflumizole and iprobenphos in perilla leaf were higher rate than the other vegetables. However the total amounts of intake of pesticides were estimated to less than 0.46% of ADI.

      • Development of Soil Moisture Controlling System for Sesame Based on Smart Irrigation System

        The smart irrigation system using ICT technology is crucial for stable production of upland crops. The objective of this study was to develop a smart irrigation system that can control soil water, depending on irrigation methods, in order to improve sesame production. In surface irrigation, three irrigation methods (sprinkler irrigation (SI), surface drip irrigation (SDI), and fountain irrigation (FI)) were installed on 68m x 13.5m fields. The distance between the sprinklers in SI was 10m. In SDI and FI, the lateral pipes were laid down 1.2m and 3m interval, respectively. The soil water contents were measured at 10, 20, 30, and 40cm depth, and an automatic irrigation system controls a valve to maintain the soil water content at 10 cm to be 30%. In subsurface drip irrigation, the drip lines were installed in a 30m x 9m plot at a depth of 20cm, with integrated dippers every 70cm or 140cm under ridge or furrow. In controlled drainage system, the culverts were installed with the spacing of 3m and 6m, and it was managed with two ground water level (30cm and 60cm). These two irrigation systems utilized sensor-based monitoring to provide real time soil water status. The seasonal irrigation amounts were 96.4 ton/10a (SDI), 119.5 ton/10a (FI), and 113 ton/10a (SI), respectively. Since SDI system supplies water near the root zone of the plants, the water was saved by 23.9% and 17.3%, compared with FI and SI, respectively. In subsurface drip irrigation, the average soil water content was 38.8%, which was 10.8% higher than the value at the control treatment (28%), implying that it provides water effectively. In controlled drainage system, the soil water contents were greatly influenced on the ground water level; the water contents at the surface zone (0-10cm, 10-20cm) with 60cm ground water level was 25.3% and 31.6%, which were 9.4% and 8.4% lower than the values with 30cm ground water level. In addition, the high water contents were measured in the narrow culvert spacing. In conclusion, this smart irrigation system can reduce production costs of upland crops, thereby improving food self-sufficiency in Korea.

        Design criteria of wind barriers for traffic -Part 1: wind barrier performance

        This study investigates the design criteria required for wind barriers to protect vehicles running on an expressway under a high side wind. At the first stage of this study, the lateral deviations of vehicles in crosswinds were computed from the commercial software, CarSim and TruckSim, and the critical wind speeds for a car accident were then evaluated from a predefined car accident index. The critical wind speeds for driving stability were found to be 35 m/s for a small passenger car, yet 30 m/s for a truck and a bus. From the wind tunnel tests, the minimum height of a wind barrier required to reduce the wind speed by 50% was found to be 12.5% of the road width. In the case of parallel bridges, the placement of two edge wind barriers plus one wind barrier at center was recommended for a separation distance larger than 20 m (four lanes) and 10 m (six lanes) respectively, otherwise two wind barriers were recommended.

        현수교 세장 내풍 단면의 개발

        본 연구에서는 변장비 70에 가까운 도전적인 현수교 단면을 개발하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위하여 먼저 강박스 현수교의 제원을 수집 분석하였다. 그 결과를 보면 강박스 현수교에서 경간장과 형상변수(교폭, 형고, 변장비, 고폭비)는 상관관계가 낮았고 고유진동수와 형상변수의 상관관계도 낮은 것으로 나타났으며, 상관관계가 높은 경간장과 고유진동수 관계는 신뢰구간별 추정식을 제시하였다. 그리고 교폭, 진동수비, 질량, 질량관성모멘트, 수직 및 비틈 고유진동수 변화에 따른 플러터 풍속의 민감도 분석을 실시하였는데, 타 변수보다 비틈 고유진동수가 플러터 풍속에 미치는 영향이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 주경간장 1111 m인 현수교의 내풍 단면을 개발하기 위하여 최소 단면폭과 형고를 제약조건으로 하여 총 30개의 단면에 대한 풍동실험을 실시하고, 이로부터 한계풍속 기준을 충분히 만족하는 단면을 찾았다. 그리고 다중모드 플러터 해석으로 개발한 단면의 내풍안정성을 검증하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 세장 단면은 향후 장대 현수교 설계시 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. This study intends to develop an aerodynamic girder for suspension bridge with width corresponding to 1/70 of the main span length. In the first step of present study, parametric study for the effects of major structural properties on aerodynamic stability of bridges was performed. The span length and natural frequency of bridges were found to be free from girder width, girder height, and aspect ratio of width to height. The empirical equation according to confidence interval was proposed to estimate the natural frequencies of bridges from span length. From the sensitivity analysis, it was revealed that the torsional frequency was dominant parameter among various structural properties that affected flutter velocity mostly. The final aerodynamic bridge section which satisfied the flutter criteria was found from section wind tunnel tests for 30 cross sectional models. The aerodynamic stability of the developed cross section was verified by multimode flutter analysis. The present economical cross section can be used for long span suspension bridge.
