      • Expression and Prognostic Implications of FOXO3a and Ki67 in Lung Adenocarcinomas

        To investigate the significance of FOXO3a and Ki67 in human lung adenocarcinomas. Envision immunohistochemical staining and Western blotting were used to examine the protein expression of FOXO3a in 127 cases of human lung adenocarcinoma specimens. The positive rate in lung adenocarcinoma (55.9%) was lower than that in normal tissues (80%). We found that the expression of FOXO3a was closely related with the degree of differentiation, TNM staging, lymph node metastasis and survival. In addition, significant differences in the different pathological types of lung adenocarcinoma cases (P<0.01). The FOXO3a positive rate of the acini as the main type (APA) (86.7%) and the lepidic as the main type (LPA) (82.4%) was higher than the solid as the main type (SPA) (50.0%), the papilla as the main type (PPA) (42.9%) and the micropapilla as the main type (MPA) (9.4%). Moreover, the expression of FOXO3a was negatively related with Ki67 expression. Our results suggested that the expression of FOXO3a is closely correlated with the aggressiveness of lung adenocarcinoma. It was indicated that disregulation of FOXO3a might play key roles in the occurrence and development of lung a denocarcinoma and joint detection of the two markers might play an important role in diagnosing tumors.

        Effects of dietary protein level on growth performance and nitrogen excretion of dairy heifers

        Objective: Protein supplementation is costly and can result in excess nitrogen (N) excretion. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of feeding different levels of dietary protein on average daily gain, body size, rumen fermentation, and nitrogen excretion of 8 to 10 month-old Holstein heifers. Methods: Thirty-six Holstein heifers were divided into 12 blocks according to age (273±6.2 d) and were randomly assigned to diets containing a low (10.2% dry matter [DM]), medium (11.9% DM), or high (13.5% DM) level of dietary crude protein (CP). All diets contained approximately 70% roughage and 30% concentrate with similar dietary metabolizable energy (ME) content (2.47 Mcal/kg). Results: Dry matter intake did not differ among the treatments, and average daily gain increased with the increasing dietary protein, 0.79, 0.95, 0.97 kg/d for low, medium, and high group, respectively. Body height increased linearly with increasing dietary CP but no other significant differences in body dimensions were found among the treatments. The increased ratios of dietary CP improved the rate of rear teat length growth remarkably (p<0.05). There was no difference in rumen pH or ruminal major volatile fatty acid (acetate, propionate, and butyrate) concentration among the 3 diets, but rumen ammonia-N concentration increased with the higher dietary CP (p<0.05). Increasing N intake led to increased total N excretion; urinary N excretion was significantly increased (p<0.05) but fecal N excretion was similar among the treatments. Conclusion: These data suggest that the diet containing 11.9% CP (ME 2.47 Mcal/kg) could meet the maintenance and growth requirements of 9 to 11 month-old Holstein heifers gaining approximately 0.9 kg/d.

        Single nucleotide polymorphism-based analysis of the genetic structure of Liangshan pig population

        Objective: To conserve and utilize the genetic resources of a traditional Chinese indigenous pig breed, Liangshan pig, we assessed the genetic diversity, genetic structure, and genetic distance in this study. Methods: We used 50K single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) chip for SNP detection of 139 individuals in the Liangshan Pig Conservation Farm. Results: The genetically closed conserved population consisted of five overlapping generations, and the total effective content of the population (Ne) was 15. The whole population was divided into five boar families and one non-boar family. Among them, the effective size of each generation subpopulation continuously decreased. However, the proportion of polymorphic markers (P<sub>N</sub>) first decreased and then increased. The average genetic distance of these 139 Liangshan pigs was 0.2823±0.0259, and the average genetic distance of the 14 boars was 0.2723±0.0384. Thus, it can be deduced that the genetic distance changed from generation to generation. In the conserved population, 983 runs of homozygosity (ROH) were detected, and the majority of ROH (80%) were within 100 Mb. The inbreeding coefficient calculated based on ROH showed an average value of 0.026 for the whole population. In addition, the inbreeding coefficient of each generation subpopulation initially increased and then decreased. In the pedigree of the whole conserved population, the error rate of paternal information was more than 11.35% while the maternal information was more than 2.13%. Conclusion: This molecular study of the population genetic structure of Liangshan pig showed loss of genetic diversity during the closed cross-generation reproduction process. It is necessary to improve the mating plan or introduce new outside blood to ensure long-term preservation of Liangshan pig.

        The Cauchy problem for an integrable generalized Camassa-Holm equation with cubic nonlinearity

        This paper studies the Cauchy problem and blow-up phenomena for a new generalized Camassa-Holm equation with cubic nonlinearity in the nonhomogeneous Besov spaces. First, by means of the Littlewood-Paley decomposition theory, we investigate the local well-posedness of the equation in $B_{p,r}^s$ with $s>\max\{\frac{1}{p},\frac{1}{2},1-\frac{1}{p}\}$, $p,r\in [0,\infty]$. Second, we prove that the equation is locally well-posed in $B_{2,r}^s$ with the critical index $s=\frac{1}{2}$ by virtue of the logarithmic interpolation inequality and the Osgood's Lemma, and it is shown that the data-to-solution mapping is H\"{o}lder continuous. Finally, we derive two kinds of blow-up criteria for the strong solution by using induction and the conservative property of $m$ along the characteristics.

      • On the forced vibration of high-order functionally graded nanotubes under the rotation via intelligent modeling

        The present research investigates the dynamic behavior of a rotating functionally graded (FG) nonlocal cylindrical beam. The cylindrical beam is mathematically modeled via third-order beam theory linked with nonlocal strain gradient theory. The tube structure is made of functionally graded materials composed of Aluminum oxide coated on the Nickel, which the mechanical properties vary in the tube radius direction according to the power law. The bending harmonic force is applied in the tube length middle. The nonlocal spinning equations of the tube are derived via the energy method of the Hamilton principle, and they are solved via a robust numerical procedure for different boundary conditions. The main application of the rotating nanostructures is for the production of small-scale motors and devices and the drug-delivery application, the presented results can help the researcher have a better view regarding the different conditions.

        A GPC-based Multi-variable PID Control Algorithm and Its Application in Anti-swing Control and Accurate Positioning Control for Bridge Cranes

        It is one of the key tasks for the bridge crane to achieve anti-swing control of the hook and the accurate positioning of the body to work efficiently, safely and automatically. Based on the Lagrange equation, this paper is to propose a dynamic model of the crane motion system for designing controller. In the controller design, ProportionalIntegral-Derivative (PID), the most widely used controller in engineering, is adopted and a new parameter tuning algorithm for a multi-variable PID controller based on generalized predictive control (GPC) is given. It is foundthat the multi-variable PID controller shares the same structural mathematical expressions with the GPC law, which makes for the transfer and calculation of the three parameters P, I and D, and that the new algorithm enables the traditional PID controller to perform as brilliantly as the GPC. The results of both the simulation and real-time control experiments show that the newly-proposed PID controller can effectively eliminate the swing of the hook and control the bridge cranes moving position accurately.

        Fabrication of carbon nanotube-loaded TiO2@AgI and its excellent performance in visible-light photocatalysis

        Novel, visible light driven CNTs-TiO2@AgI hybrid materials were synthesized by a simple solvothermaldissolution- precipitation method, during which the acid vapor treated carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as template, AgI as sensitizer and TiO2 as the bridge unified them to form a ternary composite. The morphology and chemical components of as-prepared samples were characterized by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). XRD and XPS characterizations indicated that anatase TiO2 and crystal AgI co-existed in the composite. HRTEM demonstrated CNTs were decorated with well-dispersed AgI and TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs), and TiO2 had an intimate connection with both AgI and CNTs. Diffusive reflectance UV-vis spectroscopy of CNTs-TiO2@AgI nanocomposite was extended to the whole UV-visible region due to adding of CNTs and AgI NPs. Degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) polluted water using CNTs-TiO2@AgI NPs was carried out under visible light irradiation, and it showed higher degradation efficiency than CNTs-TiO2, TiO2@AgI, and CNTs@AgI NPs. The primary reason for the enhanced photocatalytic property was attributed to the synergic effect in CNTs-TiO2@AgI, which included the good adsorption ability and electrical conductivity of CNTs as well as the intimate connection and hetero-junctions among AgI, TiO2, and CNTs. Meanwhile, the as-prepared hybrid materials can be easily separated and reclaimed from the liquid phase, and the recycling tests indicated CNTs-TiO2@AgI had renewable performance.

        Fault diagnosis of rolling bearing under limited samples using joint learning network based on local-global feature perception

        Deep learning is widely used in the field of rolling bearing fault diagnosis because of its excellent advantages in data analysis. However, in practical industrial scenarios, the capability of intelligent fault diagnosis (IFD) method is still affected by two problems: (1) The signal samples provided for network learning are limited; (2) Fully extracting feature information from the original data is difficult. To address the above issues, a novel fault diagnosis method using joint learning network (JLNet) based on local-global feature perception is proposed. The method enhances the learning mechanism of fault signal through the local information dynamic perception subnetwork, which dynamically distinguishes between local impulse segment and normal signal segment. Then, a global channel attention mechanism (CAM) is used to guide the assignment of weights, which helps bidirectional gated recurrent unit (BiGRU) to learn advanced discriminative features. The feature information of the original signal is thoroughly mined through local-global comprehensive perception, thus realizing efficient diagnosis. In addition, the variation of the characteristics of each layer is analyzed by visualization, which improves the interpretability of the network. Finally, experiments are conducted using two different datasets, and the results show that JLNet has a better diagnostic effects and robustness.

      • Saturated Throughput Analysis of Enhanced Distributed Channel Access Mechanism for Supporting Multimedia Services

        Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) mechanism is used in WLAN to support QoS for various multimedia service flows. IEEE 802.11e EDCA introduces some new QoS parameters based on DCF. How to adjust these parameters is a significant problem. In the paper, we present a novel saturated throughput analysis of the IEEE 802.11e EDCA. This approach involves a novel analytical model that is an extension to previous works, which provide Markov chain analysis to IEEE 802.11e EDCA. Throughput analysis of our model is evaluated by comparison with NS2 simulations. We found the model is correct and suitable for both basic access and request-to-send/clear-to-send (RTS/CTS) access mechanisms.
