        미국과 일본 대학의 입학사정관제 운영 사례와 시사점

        이 연구의 목적은 미국과 일본 대학의 입학사정관제를 분석하여 ‘한국형 입학사정관제’의 정착을 위한 시사점을 얻는데 있다. 우리 사회에서 입학사정관제는 정부 주도로 이루어진 최근의 붐에도 불구하고 여전히 낯선 제도이며, 이 제도가 만들어지고 시행되고 있는 미국, 그리고 일본과 우리나라는 대학 입학의 환경이 다를 뿐만 아니라 이 제도에 대한 사회적 기대 지평이 다르기 때문에 제도의 도입 단계에서 우리의 현실에 적합한 ‘한국형 입학사정관제’의 설계라는 과제를 던져주고 있다. 미국 대학과 일본 대학의 사례를 통해 우리가 이 제도를 어떻게 수용할지를 고찰해 보는 이 연구는 고교-대학의 연계, 입학처의 조직과 업무, 입학사정관제에 대한 교육, 사교육 문제, 종합적 평가체계, 학생 유치 등에 대하여 다루고 있다. ‘한국형 입학사정관제’의 설계를 위해 미국과 일본 사례에서 얻을 수 있는 시사점의 핵심은 고교-대학의 연계 방식에 있으며, 우리 사회에서는 단순한 인적 연계와 정보 소통을 넘어서 교육의 연계가 필요하다는 점이 중요하다. 특히 입학사정관제와 유사한 제도가 우리보다 조금 먼저 도입된 일본의 사례는 ‘한국형 입학사정관제’를 설계할 때 유의해야 할 부작용을 보여주고 있다. 미국 유수 대학들은 종합적 평가체계를 사용하고 있는 선례에 해당한다. 이 두 나라의 사례는 ‘한국형 입학사정관제’의 정착이 대학 혼자서 감당할 수 없는 과제라는 점을 보여준다. 결국 미래는 어떻게 만들어 가는가에 달려있다. The purpose of this comparative study is to analyze the systemic differences inherent in the American and Japanese admissions systems and examine their possible implications on the new admissions system to be unveiled in Korea under the local-specific rubric of “Admissions Officer System.” Despite the substantial role of Korean government in spearheading this educational initiative, its concept is nonetheless considered novel and unfamiliar in most academic quarters in Korea. Due to the pronounced disparities among the American and Japanese counterparts in terms of the localized specificity pertaining to their unique academic environment as well as societal expectations regarding admissions processes, the architecture of the aforementioned admissions system will invariably be a singularly Korean enterprise upon our own undertaking. By examining the exemplary cases as demonstrated by the U.S. and Japan, this study contemplates on Korea’s full-fledged implementation of its own new admissions system and its implications on the following features (but not limited to): the future liaison between the institutions of secondary and higher education, organizational scheme and its scope of roles and responsibility of the admissions office, duty to educate the public regarding the new system, problems of private education, procedural clarification apropos evaluation system and student recruitment. The main lesson from the examples of the American and Japanese counterparts is in the emphasis of the well-established rapport between secondary institutions vis-à-vis universities. Such prior examples of cooperative rapport envisage an overriding educational connection beyond personal relationship-building and informational exchange as the common ground for our own new admissions system to take hold. In the case of Japan, whose admissions system exhibits most resemblances with and has been implemented much in advance of our own system, reveals a number of undesirable side effects to be mindful of during our future implementation stage. The American undergraduate institutions, on the other hand, serve as a prominent precedent of comprehensive evaluation system. The aforementioned two case studies illustrate that instituting a monumental change at national level as such can not be achieved by the solitary efforts by the higher education institutions alone. The future of Korean educational landscape will be duly shaped by the all-embracing efforts by all stakeholders across the board.

        문학과 시장 3: 아마디스 데 가울라의 서사구조-영웅담의 수직적 상승구조와 수평적 대립구조-

        La ambicion de fama y el cuidado de mantenerla y dilatarla son afan constante de los caballeros del Amadis, protagonista del mercado de literatura en el siglo XVI europeo. Este estudio pretende demostrar las estrucruras narrativas de la refundicion de Garci Rodriguez de Montalvo. Su esqueleto basico es la estructura ascendiente en la cual la honra y la dignidad del heroe, nacido como un nino abandonado, llegan a ser flor de la caballeria mediante muchas aventuras peligrosas. Y como una iniciacion de la serie de los Amadises, resultan indispensables la repeticion, la variacion de esta estructura ascendiente para evitar el aburrimiento del publico-lector y para atraerlo mas con sabor de novedad y riqueza. En los cuatro libros se repite esta estructura ascendiente. Y las secuencias incesantes de crisis→desenlace→nueva crisis forman el proceso de variacion. A traves de ellas, la honra del protagonista se mueve verticalmente hasta la cumbre del caballero errante. La repeticion y la variacion de la estructura ascendiente son necesarias para mantener las atenciones del publico-lector. Ademas, la historia de un heroe se convierte en el conflicto entre el bando de heroe y el de antiheroe. La expansion horizontal de la oposicion refresca la curiosidad de los lectores. Las estructuras vertical y horizontal constituyen la unidad y la variedad de la historia de Amadis, con las cuales sobrevive hasta nuestros dias.

        제2종 위상정합용 KTiOPO₄와 고리형 공동을 이용한 제2고조파 발진

        진동수 안정화된 Nd:YAG 레이저, KTP 단결정, 그리고 외부 공병 공동을 사용하여 제2고조파 발생 장치를 제작하였다. 제2종 위상정합을 이용하는 경우 문제가 되는 정상광선과 이상광선 사이의 벗어남 각과, 두 광선이 모두 공동에 공명하게 하는 이중 공명의 조건을 결정의 온도와 광 입사각의 조절을 통해 최적화 하였다. 그 결과로써 318㎽의 근원파에 대해 26㎽의 제2고조파 출력을 얻을 수 있었다. We constructed a frequency doubler with a frequency-stabilized Nd:YAG Laser, a nonlinear crystal KTP, and an external resonant cavity. Using type Ⅱ phase-matching method and a resonant cavity, one usually have a serious problem that the second harmonic conversion efficiency is decreased greatly, for under usual circumstances ordinary ray and extraominary ray cannot be resonated in a cavity simultaneously. With the change of temperature and incident angle of KTP, we found an optimized condition for the phase-matching and double-resonance. As a result we produced 26㎽ of green light with 318㎽ of fundamental laser power from a cw Nd:YAG laser.

        Relationship between Structure and Optical Properties in the CdO-B2O3-SiO2 Glass System

        To study the compositional dependence of the optical properties and atomic structure of glasses, the CdOB2O3-SiO2 ternary glasses, which are known as highly photoconductive glasses, have been investigated. The photoconductivity of glasses containing CdO was investigated in a previous study, because of their potential applications in photoelectronic devices. The thermo-mechanical analysis and the Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra of the glass samples were measured to determine the structural variation of these glasses. Using transmittance measurements, we calculated the optical energy band gap. This paper presents results for control of the optical energy band gap 3.8 ~ 3.2 eV in cadmium-borosilicate glass system while the structural properties undergo monotonic changes.

        Current Concepts in the Management of Osteoporotic Vertebral Fractures: A Narrative Review

        Vertebral fractures are the most common type of osteoporotic fracture and can increase morbidity and mortality. To date, the guidelines for managing osteoporotic vertebral fractures (OVFs) are limited in quantity and quality, and there is no gold standard treatment for these fractures. Conservative treatment is considered the primary treatment option for OVFs and includes pain relief through shortterm bed rest, analgesics, antiosteoporotic drugs, exercise, and braces. Studies on vertebral augmentation (VA) including vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty have been widely reported, but there is still debate and controversy regarding the effectiveness of VA when compared with conservative treatment, and the routine use of VA for OVF is not supported by current evidence. Although most OVFs heal well, approximately 15%–35% of patients with unstable fractures, chronic intractable back pain, severely collapsed vertebra (leading to neurological deficits and kyphosis), or chronic pseudarthrosis frequently require surgery. Given that there is no single technique for optimizing surgical outcomes in OVFs, tailored surgical techniques are needed. Surgeons need to pay attention to advances in osteoporotic spinal surgery and should be open to novel thoughts and techniques. Prevention and management of osteoporosis is the key element in reducing the risk of subsequent OVFs. Bisphosphonates and teriparatide are mainstay drugs for improving fracture healing in OVF. The effects of bisphosphonates on fracture healing have not been clinically evaluated. The intermittent administration of teriparatide significantly enhanced spinal fusion and fracture healing and reduced mortality risk. Based on the current literature, there is still a lack of standard management strategies for OVF. There is a need for greater efforts through multimodal approaches including conservative treatment, surgery, osteoporosis treatment, and drugs that promote fracture healing to improve the quality of the guidelines.

        A Study of the Relationship between Structure and Properties of Cadmium Phosphate Glasses

        It analysed the structure and chemical durability which it follows in CdO content in Cadmium phosphate glasses. We prepared glasses with the composition, xCdO-(100-x)P2O5 (x = 10 mol. % to 50 mol. %), and analyzed their density (ρ), molar volume (VM), glass transition/softening temperature (Tg/Td), thermal expansion coefficient (α), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and dissolution rate. All of these of the values were found to vary with the CdO content of the glasses. It is observed that the dissolution rate increase with with CdO contents. This suggests that Cadmium ion breaks the p-o-p bonds.

        Effects of Substituting B2O3 for P2O5 on the Structures and Properties of V2O5-P2O5 Glass Systems

        V2O5-B2O3-P2O5 glasses with various compositions were prepared using a normal melt quenching technique,and their characteristics and structural properties were investigated using different techniques. Replacement of P2O5 by B2O3 was found to improve the thermal properties, chemical durability, and room-temperature conductivity. The observed variations in the properties may be correlated with changes in the internal glass network as a result of changes in the chemical composition. Vanadium ions are believed to be present in three possible valence states, namely V3+, V4+, and V5+, and the ratios of these states depend on the glass composition. The observed increases in chemical durability and room-temperature conductivity are assumed to be related to increases in the mean crosslinking density, increases in the number of bridging oxygens,and electron hopping between vanadate ions in different valence states.
