This study investigated gender eqalitarianism of university students. The purpose of this study was to offer basic information and desirable direction for the education program of student's sex-role indentity. The data collection was based on Korean Questionnaire of Gender Equality Perception developed by Korean Women Development Center. Its reliabilitv(Cronbach α) was .84. In this study.982 university students were sampled in Kyunggi, Gangwon and Chungchong provinces. T-test and One-way ANOVA was conducted with the SPSS 10.0 version program. The major findings of this study were as follow: First, university student showed the highest gender eqalitarianism in educational life field. But they have the lowest in social and cultural life field. Second, male university students showed lower gender eqalitarianism than female university students. Third. student who is middle or last in brother order showed higher than one who is first or only son. Forth, student who is grown up in urban showed higher gender eqalitarianism than one in country.
여성호르몬 대체요법후 체중변화와 베타3 아드레날린 수용체 유전자형의 연관성에 관한 연구

연구배경: 폐경 전후에서의 체중 증가와 여성호르몬과의 연관성이 지속적으로 논의되어왔다 교감 신경계는 지방대사를 촉진하여 대사적 열생산을 증가시키는 작용을 가지고 있으므로 이와 관련하여 베타3아드레날린 수용체의 유전자형이 폐경여성에서 여성호르몬 대체요법 이후의 체중증가와 연관이 있는지를 밝히고자 본 연구를 시행하였다. 방법: 1995년부터 2002년 5월까지 삼성제일병윈 비만클리닉 및 갱년기 클리닉에 방문하여 여성 호르몬 대체요법을 시행 받았으며, 폐경에 관련한 과거력, 여성 호르몬 투여 전후의 체중, 체질량 지수에 대한 자료를 확보할 수 있곤, 베타3 아드레날린 수용체 유전자의 다형성을 분석한 92명을 최종 연구 대상자로 하였다. 결과: 베타3 아드레날린 수용체 유전자 다형성 분포는 Trp64Trp형 39.1%, Trp64Arg형 25.0%,Arg64Arg형 34.8%,로 나타났다 여성호르몬 투여 전 체중의 평균은 61.07±7.06이었으며, 여성 호르몬대체요법 후 체중 변화의 평균은 1.28±3.20 증가로 나타났으나, 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다 β3 아드레날린 수용체 유전자 아형에 따른 체중의 평균 변화는 Trp64Trp형에서 1.86±2.94 증가, Trp64Arg형 0.74±2.97 증가, Arg64Arg형 1,00±3.61 증가로 나타났으나 이들 모두 통계적 유의성은 없었으며, 세 아형간의 변화량도 유의하지 않았다. 결론: 폐경여성에서 여성호르몬 대체요법 후 체중이 증가하였으나 통계적으로 유의하지 않았으며, β3아드레날린 수용체 유전자 아형에 따른 차이를 관찰할 수 없었다. Background: The study results to determine the relationship between postmenopausal estrogen use and weight gain have not been consistent. Genetic studies have reported the association of BMI with the beta3-adrenergic receptor gene polymorhism. This study as designed to indentify association of beta3-adrenergic receptor gene polymorhism with weight gain related to HRT in postmenopausal women. Methods: 192 postmenopausal women at a general hospital, Bariatric and climacteric clinic have been collected. Subtypes of beta3 adrenergic receptors were measured and physical, anthropomeric data including body fat and BMI was obtained before and after HRT. Results: Arg/Arg group was 34.8%, Trp/Arg group was 25.0%, Trp/Trp group was 39.1%. Mean weight gain in 192 postmenopausal women was 1.28±3.20 kg and the percent changes in weight gain between initial and final point was 2.32±5.66% but these resulst had no statistical significance (p>0.05). Weight gain(%) were 2.24%(95% C.I 0.35~4.13) in Arg/Arg group, 1.08%(-1.17~3.29) in Trp/Arg group and 3.18%(1.49~4.92) in Trp/Trp, but these results did not show statistical significance(F=1.13, p=0.03). Conclusion: Polymorphism of beta3 adrenergic receptor gene was not associated with weight gain after HRT in postmenopausal women. From these results, we may conclude that polymorhism of beta3 adrenergic receptor may not be the predicting factor to understand the weight gain after HRT in postmenopausal women.
Electrical Properties of PZT-PCW Thick Film on Pt/Sic/Si, and Structural Stability of SiC

<P>We have fabricated the PZT-PCW thick films on Pt/(Ti, Pt, and TiO 2 )/SiN x /SiC/Si substrates. SiC thick films were deposited on the Si substrate by thermal CVD method. SiN x films with different film thickness as a diffusion barrier layer were deposited on SiC/Si substrates using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition. The bottom electrode used was double layers of Pt/(Ti, Ta, and TiO 2 ). We used TiO 2 , Ti, and Ta as a buffer layer to improve the adhesion property of Pt film. PZT-PCW thick films were prepared on the SiC thick films by screen printing. All samples were quickly introduced into the furnace, kept at a temperature between 750 and 950° for 10 min, and then cooled in air. For application of cantilever based device, SiC thick film was used as a supporting material in order to improve sensing sensitivity of cantilever based sensor. However, in order to use SiC thick films, we needed to investigate interfacial properties between PZT and SiC thick films. We investigated the structural stability of the adhesion layer (Ti, TiO 2 , and Ta) and the diffusion barrier layer (SiN x ) using the PZT-PCW thick films with different layers. The PZT-PCW thick film with TiO 2 as adhesion layer showed more stable interface than that with Ti and Ta below 900°C. In the case of the PZT-PCW thick film with SiN x layer, SiN x films showed more stable interface at the thickness of 3000 to 6000 Å. In the case of PZT-PCW thick film with the SiN x thickness of 6000 Å, the electrical properties were improved with the increase of sintering temperature. In case of the PZT-PCW thick film with sintered at 950°C, the remanent polarization (P r ) was about 13.0 µ C/cm 2 at the applied field of 150 kV/cm, and the dielectric permittivity (e r ) was 551 at the frequency of 100 kHz.</P>

Primary lymphoma of the kidney is rare, and in most cases is attributable to lymphomatous renal infilitration of systemic non-Hodgkin's lymphoma or an extension from an adjacent site of the disease. Since the renal parenchyma is not a lymphoid organ, the mechanism by which renal lymphoma occur remains poorly understood. We report here a case of primary bilateral B-cell renal lymphoma in 26-year- old man who was treated successfully with combination chemotherapy.
EFFECT OF SILICON CARBIDE PASSIVATION FILM ON THE RESONANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF CANTILEVER

<P> We have used silicon carbide (SiC) thin films as an insulating material of the PZT micro cantilevers for electrical and biological passivation. The use of SiC thin films as a passivation layer of the PZT microcantilevers is also seemingly viable to insure the high mass sensitivity as well as the stable passivation. In this study, we report the effect of SiC passivation layer on the performance of the PZT microcantilevers. The micromachined PZT microcantilevers having a structure of SiNx/Ta/Pt/PZT/Pt were fabricated through MEMS processes. In order to improve the mass sensitivity and the passivation, SiC thin films of the high elasticity material were deposited on the cantilever using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) at the temperature of 400°C. Plane-strain modulus of SiC thin film was measured by nanoindentation. We observed that SiC thin films showed higher Young's modulus than Si and SiO2. Before and after the deposition of SiC thin films, the end-tip deflection and the resonant frequency change of microcantilevers were measured by a confocal microscope and an impedance analyzer. It was confirmed that end-tip deflection of microcantilever was reduced by 13∼18% through the deposition of SiC thin films, indicating the stress relaxation of the microcantilevers.</P>

Current transformers(CTs) whose rating is selected per a full load current of a feeder in high voltage system can be easily saturated due to high fault current that may be several hundred times of the full load current of the feeder. However, the protective relay shall operate properly at the fault without mis-operation under the CT saturation. So, in selecting the CT rating, it is necessary to consider the behaviour of CT and a performance of protection scheme in condition where CT can be saturated. In this paper, a performance of CT and a degree of saturation are studied and verified whether its ratings are proper for the operation of the protective relay.
