        In this study, the frequencies and types of questions about LIFE areas of the Science Curriculum of elementary school students were investigated through in-depth interviews with twelve 4th and 5th graders. The results of the research can be summarized as follows: (1) In conjectural question, the proportions of 'object exploration question' and 'object verification question' were high in all of the 4th graders and the students of low achievement level. (2) The numbers of causal questions generated by the 4th graders were much higher than those of the 5th graders. (3) The frequencies of the predictive, methodological, applicative questions were very low both in 4th and 5th grade students. (4) The numbers of conjectural questions were more in all students except the low achievement level of 4th graders at not-yet-taken contents than at already-taken ones. (5) The numbers of causal questions were more in all students except the low and middle achievement levels of 4th graders at not-yet-taken contents than at already-taken ones. (6) The numbers of the predictive, methodological, applicative questions of the 4th graders were more at not-yet-taken contents than at already-taken ones, whereas opposite trend in the 5th graders. (7) The numbers of students' curriculum-related questions were more in all students except the low and middle achievement levels of 4th graders at not-yet-taken contents than at already-taken ones. (8) As ways for solving or seeking answers about questions, the 4th graders suggested methods of consulting experts or teachers (23.9%), internet searching (21.6%), and books or science-related encyclopedia (20.3%), while the 5th graders suggested the internet searching (36.5%), consulting experts or teachers (24.8%), and books or science-related encyclopedia (17.7%). Based an these results, we suggest several ways for improving the question-posing abilities of the students and adequate use of students' questions in the process of science teaching learning.

        Vibrio cholerae is mainly known to cause gastrointestinal infection after seawater exposure or raw seafood intake. It is rarely reported to cause cellulitis or sepsis, but threre has been no known case after acupuncture. Herein, We report a 56-year-old cirrhotic patient of non-O1, non-O139 Vibrio cholerae septicemia caused by cellulitis of both lower extremities after acupuncture.

        This study aims to deduce the effective collaborative process of architectural design process based on the specific pavilion design case. The study schematizes the collaborative procedure which is generated at the early stage of design process, analyzes the decision support system and suggests the method for reaching a compromise.Finally, this study suggested collaborative process method of architectural design and provided the basic concept that can be used for the similar projects.         열공성 뇌경색과 뇌내출혈의 위험인자 비교

        Cerebral small vessel disease is the most important cause of lacunar infarction (LI) and intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). It is generally postulated that, in its early stages, the vascular lesion engenders vessel wall fragility and ICH. But if rupture dose not occur, segmental vessel occlusion evolves, producing LI. It may be a common aging phenomenon that is exacerbated by hypertension and diabetes mellitus. This study was performed to evaluate risk factors of LI and ICH. We reviewed retrospectively the medical records of 690 patients (254 LI, 436 ICH) with stroke who were admitted to Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center from January 1995 to December 1998. The major risk factors including age, sex, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and several minor risk factors were analyzed in these patients. Older age (p<0.01), male sex(p<0.01), hypertension with treatment(p<0.01), hypertension with long duration(p<0.01) and hypertriglyceridemia(p<0.01), cigarette smoking(p<0.01) were significantly more frequent in LI. Younger age(p<0.01), female sex(p<0.01) and hypertension without treatment(p<0.01), hypertension with short duration(p<0.01) were more frequent in ICH. The prevalence, duration and treatment of diabetes mellitus were not different between these two groups. This study show that the age, sex, treatment of hypertension, duration of hypertension and cigarette smoking seem to be significant risk factors between LI and ICH.

      • Inkjet‐Printed Single‐Droplet Organic Transistors Based on Semiconductor Nanowires Embedded in Insulating Polymers

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Fabrication of organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs) using a high‐throughput printing process has garnered tremendous interest for realizing low‐cost and large‐area flexible electronic devices. Printing of organic semiconductors for active layer of transistor is one of the most critical steps for achieving this goal. The charge carrier transport behavior in this layer, dictated by the crystalline microstructure and molecular orientations of the organic semiconductor, determines the transistor performance. Here, it is demonstrated that an inkjet‐printed single‐droplet of a semiconducting/insulating polymer blend holds substantial promise as a means for implementing direct‐write fabrication of organic transistors. Control of the solubility of the semiconducting component in a blend solution can yield an inkjet‐printed single‐droplet blend film characterized by a semiconductor nanowire network embedded in an insulating polymer matrix. The inkjet‐printed blend films having this unique structure provide effective pathways for charge carrier transport through semiconductor nanowires, as well as significantly improve the on‐off current ratio and the environmental stability of the printed transistors.</P>

      • Control of the Morphology and Structural Development of Solution-Processed Functionalized Acenes for High-Performance Organic Transistors

        <P>Solution-processable functionalized acenes have received special attention as promising organic semiconductors in recent years because of their superior intermolecular interactions and solution-processability, and provide useful benchmarks for organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). Charge-carrier transport in organic semiconductor thin films is governed by their morphologies and molecular orientation, so self-assembly of these functionalized acenes during solution processing is an important challenge. This article discusses the charge-carrier transport characteristics of solution-processed functionalized acene transistors and, in particular, focuses on the fine control of the films' morphologies and structural evolution during film-deposition processes such as inkjet printing and post-deposition annealing. We discuss strategies for controlling morphologies and crystalline microstructure of soluble acenes with a view to fabricating high-performance OFETs.</P> <B>Graphic Abstract</B> <P>Solution-processed functionalized acenes have received special attention as promising organic semiconductors and provide useful benchmarks for organic electronics.         It is known that the analytic operator-valued Feynman integral exists for some "potentials" which we so singular that they must be given by measures rather than by functions. Corresponding stability results involving monotonicity assumptions have been established by the author and others. Here in our main theorem we prove further stability theorem without monotonicity requirements.

        A DnaJ-like Homolog from Cryphonectria parasitica Is Not Responsive to Hypoviral Infection but Is Important for Fungal Growth in Both Wild-Type and Hypovirulent Strains

        A DnaJ-like gene, Cpdj1, a molecular chaperone and regulator of Hsp70 in Cryphonectria parasitica, was characterized. The protein product of Cpdj1 gene consists of 379 amino acids with a predicted molecular mass of 40.6 kDa and a pI of 7.79. The deduced protein sequence revealed preservation of the conserved hall-mark J-region and exhibited high homology to all known DnaJ-like proteins. Disruption of the Cpdj1 gene resulted in slow growth and produced colonies characterized by retarded growth and a deep orange color. Accordingly, reduced virulence of the Cpdj1- mutant was observed. This reduced growth rate was magnified when the Cpdj1- mutant was cultured under heat-stress conditions. Reduced conidiation was also observed in the Cpdj1- mutant, indicating that Cpdj1 gene, although not essential for cell viability, is required for appropriate cellular processes including growth and sporulation. Northern analysis showed that Cpdj1 was constitutively expressed, and when the culture was subject to high temperature, a strong induction of the transcript was observed. No significant difference in the expression and induction pattern of Cpdj1 was observed between virus-free EP155/2 and virus-infected hypovirulent UEP1 strains. However, further severe defects in mycelia growth and conidiation were observed in the hypovirus-infected Cpdj1- mutant suggesting that the presence of Cpdj1 is required for mycelia growth and sporulation of the hypovirus-infected strain.
