Spontaneous anterior cerebral artery (ACA) dissection, although extremelyrare, is often associated with severe morbidity and mortality. It could leadto cerebral hemorrhage, ischemic stroke, or, rarely, combination of hemorrhageand ischemia due to hemodynamic changes. Prompt and accuratediagnosis is essential for determining the appropriate management. However, the optimal treatment for ACA dissection remains controversial. Herein, we report on two rare cases of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH)caused by ACA dissection; a case presenting with simultaneous SAH andinfarction without aneurysmal formation and another case presentingwith SAH with fusiform aneurysmal formation. A review of the related literatureis provided, and optimal treatments for each type of dissectionare suggested.

This study critically evaluated the languages used by six major Korean newspapers. Broadcasting languages have been constantly criticized, often by newspapers. On the contrary, newspaper languages have long been considered exemplars without proper evaluations. This study claimed that newspapers use no less problematic languages than network televisions, and that, because of the high credibility of newspapers, their languages have more potentials to mislead the public. This study examined 22 categories of problematic languages including: words of Western origin, words written in English alphabets, Japanese Chinese words, syntax and expressions of foreign origin, authoritarian languages, discriminatory languages, extreme exaggerations, formulaic expressions, pedantic Chinese words, complex nominalization, and jargons and cants. Six major dailies, i.e., Chosun, Donga, Jungang, Hankook, Kyunghyang, and Hankyoreh, were compared. In general, words of foreign origin, led by those of Western origin, appeared most frequently, averaging 6 cases per article. Extreme exaggerations along with formulaic expressions were used second most, followed by authoritarian languages. Syntax and expressions of foreign origin were also used frequently. Of the six newspapers, Hankyoreh and Chosun revealed least problems, while Kyunghyang the most. Of different sections, the economy section used words of foreign origin, extreme exaggerations, and jargons and cants most frequently, whereas the politics section used pedantic Chinese words, authoritarian languages, and discriminatory languages most frequently. However, the worst of all sections were the editorials that showed frequent uses of pedantic words, complex nominalization, Japanese Chinese words, foreign syntax, conjecture, formulaic expressions, and inappropriate lexical choices.

CeO<sub>2</sub> nanoparticles, employed in a lot of fields due to their excellent oxidation and reduction properties, are synthesized through a solvothermal process, and a high specific surface area is shown by controlling, among various process parameters in the solvothermal process, the type of solvent. The synthesized CeO<sub>2</sub> nanoparticles are about 11~13 nm in the crystallite size and their specific surface area is about 65.38~84.65 ㎡/g, depending on the amount of ethanol contained in the solvent for the solvothermal process; all synthesized CeO<sub>2</sub> nanoparticles shows a fluorite structure. The dispersibility and microstructure of the synthesized CeO<sub>2</sub> nanoparticles are investigated according to the species of dispersant and the pH value of the solution; an improvement in dispersibility is shown with the addition of dispersants and control of the pH. Various dispersing properties appear according to the dispersant species and pH in the solution with the synthesized CeO<sub>2</sub> nanoparticles, indicating that improved dispersing properties in the synthesized CeO<sub>2</sub> nanoparticles can be secured by applying dispersant and pH control simultaneously.
