요한 바오로 2세의 관점에서 바라본 ‘가정’의 의미

현대 사회에서 많은 가정은 위기를 경험한다. 여러 가지 복합적인 원인이 그 위기를 촉발하고 악화시키는 것이며, 그에 따른 해결책도 다양할 것이다. 요한 바오로 2세는 현대 가정에서 맞이하는 위기는 혼인의 목적으로서 사랑의 가치를 상실하면서 비롯한 것이라는 고찰과 함께 그 문제를 접근한다. 왜냐하면 가정의 시작은 바로 혼인에서 출발하기 때문이다. 이러한 차원에서 그는 혼인에 담긴 부부 사랑의 가치에 대한 성찰을 통해 가정의 의미를 고찰한다. 본 논문은 요한 바오로 2세의 가정의 의미를 살펴본다. 먼저 본 논문은 가정과 혼인의 실질적인 기반이 되는 부부사랑과 생명 전달의 의미를 살펴본다. 또한 인격체들의 공동체로서 친교를 기반으로 하는 가정의 의미를 살펴본다. 더불어 그 의미들과 생명윤리와의 관련성을 “부부사랑과 출산”이라는 부분을 통해 살펴본다. 한편 본 연구는 가정교회로서의 가정의 의미는 고찰하지 못한다. 따라서 본 연구는 요한 바오로 2세의 가정 이해에 근본적인 한계를 가진다. 왜냐하면 그의 가정 이해는 인간학적 그리고 신학적 차원을 종합하는 이 세 가지 측면을 고찰될 때 비로소 파악될 수 있기 때문이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 본 논문은 현대 사회에서 직면하는 가정의 위기(부부 사이에서, 부모와 자녀 사이에서 등)는 부부 사랑에 대한 깊은 통찰을 시도한다. 이를 통해 그 해결책을 모색할 수 있는 단초를 제공한다. 부부 사랑에는 부부의 일치의 의의와 출산의 의의가 불가분의 연관성으로 내재한다. 따라서 부부 사랑은 새로운 생명을 인격으로서 받아들이는 이 불가분의 연관성을 통해서 그리고 그 안에서 온전히 실존하며 보존될 수 있다. 요한 바오로 2세에 따르면, 가정은 각 인격이 그의 혹은 그녀의 대체 불가능한 유일한 존재를 드러내는 장소이다. 가정은 그 인격의 가치 위에서 구성되고, 그 가치에 온전히 집중된 인격들의 공동체이다. 그 공동체는 상호 인격적 친교의 사랑을 기반으로 한다. 사랑이 바로 가정의 본질이며, 생명은 그 사랑의 열매이자 징표이며, 가정 공동체는 이러한 사랑이 실현되는 장소이다. In modern society, many families experience crisis. Various complex causes to trigger and aggravate the crisis, and the solutions might be diverse. John Paul II approached the problem with the consideration that the crisis with which we have confronted has been caused by the loss of the value of love as the purpose of marriage. Because the beginning of the family starts from the marriage. In this sense, he considers the meaning of the family through reflection on the value of conjugal love in marriage. This paper examines the meaning of the family from the perspective of John Paul II. First, it looks at the meaning of conjugal love and transmitting life as a substantial basis of the family and the marriage. It also finds out the meaning of the family based communion as a community of persons. In addition, we will see that the meaning of the family has relevance to bioethics, in particular through "the conjugal love and procreation". On the other hand, this study does not consider the meaning of the family as a family church. Thus, this study has fundamental limitations in the understanding of the family of John Paul II. For his understanding of the family can only be grasped when considering these three aspects of the anthropological and theological dimension. Nevertheless, this paper attempts to deepen insight into the love of the couple in the face of the family crisis (between husband and wife, between parents and children, etc.). This will provide a starting point for the solution. In the conjugal love, the significance of the unity and that of procreation are inherent in an inseparable connection. The marital love, therefore, can be preserved entirely in and through this inseparable connection to accepting a new life as a person. According to John Paul II, the family is the place in which each person appears in his or her own uniqueness and irreplaceability. It is a profoundly human system, constructed upon the value of the person and concentrated entirely around this value. The community is based on the love of mutual personal communion. Love is the essence of the family, a new life is the fruit and the sign of love, and the family community is the place where this love is realized.

Hydrogen-Affected Tensile and Fatigue Properties of Ti-6Al-4V Sheets by Superplastic Forming

Abstract: Mill-annealed Ti-6Al-4V (Ti64) sheets were formed into rectangular shaped pans with two square recesses by the superplastic forming (SPF) technique under high pressure using commercial grade argon gas. The SPF process induced a significant decrease in the tensile ductility and high cycle fatigue (HCF) resistance of the Ti64 alloy. The fractographic analysis of as-fabricated Ti64 sheets showed a hydrogen-affected layer on the surface, possibly incurred by a small amount of water vapor in the commercial grade argon gas. This hydrogen-affected layer with a depth of approximately 60 μm tended to decrease tensile ductility and the resistance to HCF, by encouraging easy crack initiation on the surface. The effect of hydrogen on the mechanical properties of the SPF processed Ti64 sheets was discussed based on fractographic and micrographic observations. (Received May 8, 2017; Accepted May 19, 2017)

Welfare of Incomplete Markets Economy with Permanent as well as Transitory Shocks

Under the assumption that shocks are transitory, the welfare properties of the incomplete markets economy with only bonds are well known. As agents become more patient, its behavior get closer to that of the complete markets economy. As shocks become more persistent, the incomplete markets economy behave much differently from the complete markets economy. This paper shows that, when shocks have permanent as well as transitory components, neither of these two properties is true. More patience does not always move the incomplete markets economy closer to the complete markets economy, and more persistence in growth rate shocks induces similarity between the incomplete markets economy and the complete markets economy.

Indeterminacy under Social Constant Returns and Costs of Adjusting Capital

It has been shown that, in a small open economy with traded and nontraded goods, indeterminacy occurs under constant returns to scale for the social technology with an arbitrarily small degree of externalities. This paper claims that costs of adjusting capital increase the required degree of externalities for indeterminacy to arise. Under empirically plausible levels of adjustment costs and externalities, indeterminacy does not arise in a model with social constant returns.

Aseptic Humeral Nonunion: What Went Wrong? What to Do? A Retrospective Analysis of 20 Cases

Purpose: Due to recent advances in internal fixation techniques, instrumentation and orthopedic implants there is an increasing number of humeral shaft fracture treated operatively. As a consequence, an increased number nonunion after operative fixation are being referred to our center. The aim of this study is to report the common error during osteosynthesis that may have led to nonunion and present a systematic analytical approach for the management of aseptic humeral shaft nonunion. Methods: In between January 2007 to December 2013, 20 patients with humeral shaft nonunion after operative procedure were treated according to our treatment algorithm. We could analysis x-rays of 12 patients from initial treatment to nonunion. In a subgroup of 12 patients the initial operative procedure were analyzed to determine the error that may have caused nonunion. The following questions were used to examine the cases: 1) Was the fracture biology preserved during the procedure? 2) Does the implant construct have enough stability to allow fracture healing? Results: In 19 out of 20 patients have showed radiographic evidence of union on follow up. One patient has to undergo reoperation because of the technical error with bone graft placement but eventually healed. There were 2 cases wherein the treatment algorithm was not followed. All patients had problems with mechanical stability, and in 13 patients had biologic problems. In the analysis of the initial operative fixation, only one of 12 patients had biologic problems. Conclusion: In our analysis, the common preventable error made during operative fixation of humeral shaft fracture is failure to provide adequate stability for bony union to occur. And with these cases we have demonstrated a systematic analytic management approach that may be used to prevent surgeons from reproducing the same fault and reduce the need for bone grafting. Exploiting Serial Access and Asymmetric Read/Write of Domain Wall Memory for Area and Energy-Efficient Digital Signal Processor Design

<P>In many digital signal processing (DSP) applications, static random access memory (SRAM) based embedded memory and flip-flop based shift registers consume a significant portion of area and power. These DSP units are dominated by sequential memory access where SRAM-based memory or flip-flop based shift registers are inefficient in terms of area and power. We propose spintronic domain wall memory (DWM) based embedded memories for DSP building blocks such as survivor-path memories and last-in first-out (LIFO) in Viterbi decoder, first-in-first-out (FIFO) register files in FFT processor and bitonic sorter, and input register of distributed arithmetic (DA) based FIR filter that exploit the unique serial access mechanism, non-volatility and small footprint of the memory for area and power saving. Simulations using 65 nm technology show that the DWM based design achieves significant area and power savings over the conventional SRAM and spin-transfer-torque RAM (STTRAM) based design approach. For 8 k-point FFT processor and Viterbi decoder, the DWM-based design shows 60.6% (8.4%) and 66.4% (-1.7%) area and 60.3% (44.3%) and 60.0% (37.8%) power savings over the conventional SRAM (STTRAM) based design, respectively. For DA-based FIR filter, it achieves 15.7% area and 15.5% power savings over shift register based design.</P>

Self-Portraits and Portraits of Hungarians in Hungarian Oral Literature

This study attempted to look into the identity of the Hungarian people using Hungarian oral literature. Unlike documentary literature, oral literature was created not by a single individual, but collectively by many Hungarians throughout a long period of time. So, it contains the spirits, thoughts and self-portraits of a nation. Many Hungarian oral tales from Asia continued to be passed down without great change for a time in Europe as well. According to the oral tales, the Hungarians introduced Christianity after settlement in Europe, but maintained their own faith from Asia and sought their identity in Asia. Accordingly, they also depict themselves as Asians. However, they wanted to be described as European Christians by others, since they accepted Christianity with a view to their survival rather than voluntarily. In particular, myths and legends reveal such great change between self-portrait and portrait. However, it is not easy to grasp the self-portrait and portrait of the Hungarian people in the folktales led by trifling fun. On the contrary, oral poetry demonstrates many Christian factors, as the Hungarians were influenced by Christian culture after their settlement in Europe. However, there are few indigenous folklore elements that originate in Asia. This indicates the possibility that the Hungarians regarded themselves Christian Europeans Therefore, the self-portraits and portraits of the Hungarian people are similar to each other in oral poetry, unlike oral tales.
