        Global axisymmetric solutions to the 3D Navier--Stokes--Poisson--Nernst--Planck system in the exterior of a cylinder

        In this paper we prove global existence and uniqueness of axisymmetric strong solutions for the three dimensional electro-hydrodyna\-mic model based on the coupled Navier--Stokes--Poisson--Nernst--Planck system in the exterior of a cylinder. The key ingredient is that we use the axisymmetry of functions to derive the $L^{p}$ interpolation inequalities, which allows us to establish all kinds of a priori estimates for the velocity field and charged particles via several cancellation laws.

        “춘향”과 “이몽룡”의 인물변용에 대한 고찰 -중국 여류작가 김인순의 『춘향』을 중심으로-

        본고는 중국 현대 조선족 여류작가 김인순의 대표작 장편소설 『춘향』에 관한 작품론적인 입장에서 진행한 연구이다. 한국 고전소설 『춘향전』과 병치하여 비교분석하는 방법으로 춘향과 이몽룡의 인물변용에 대한 분석을 통하여 중국현대여성의 사랑과 혼인에 대한 작자의 냉철한 사고가 담긴 소설 『춘향』의 주제의식에 접근한다. 1970년대에 출생한 김인순은 중국현대문단에서 큰 영향력을 가진 조선족 여류작가이다. 그녀는 70년대에 출생한 현대작가로 1996년에 중국문단에 데뷔하여 2008년에 한국 고전소설 『춘향전』을 재창작한 장편소설 『춘향』을 발표하면서 재차 각광을 받게 된 동시에 조선족 신분도 주목 받게 되었다. 그녀의 첫 장편소설인『춘향』은 2011년 중국 제10기 전국 소수민족 문학창작 “준마상”을 수상하게 되었다. 한국 고전소설 『춘향전』의 인물들을 파격적으로 변형시킨 소설 『춘향』은 단조로운 중국 현대 문단에 타국의 정서적 느낌을 가져다주었다는 높은 평가를 받는다. 뿐만 아니라 소설적 장르에 의한 현대적 변용에서의 징표로 꼽히기에 손색이 없을 만큼 중국적 『춘향전』수용의 새 지평을 열어놓았다는 높은 평도 받고 있다. 『춘향』은 또한 다원문화인 중국대륙에서 조선족을 제외한 기타 민족에게 한국문화의 메시지를 전달하는 역할을 담당한 작품으로서 『춘향전』에 대한 수용차원에서나, 한국문화에 대한 전달 역할의 차원에서나 모두 자체의 독보적인 문학적 가치를 이룩하였다. Kim InSoon is an influential writer of Korean minority in the contemporary Chinese literature. She was born in 1970, called “the 1970s writer” who grew up during the Chinese reform in 1980s and experienced the great change in 1990s. There is a saying about the 1970s writers: they were born under the red flag and grew up in the desire. In the late part of 1990s, this group of people became the main social force. During this period, Kim InSoon stepped into literature. In 2003, she gained the attention through the film GREENTEA adapted from her short story “Adilia at the water’s edge”. In 2008, she drew attention again because the publication of the long novel CHUNHYANG in Harvest, as a writer of Korean minority. The novel CHUNHYANG is the 180 degree reversal of the South Korean Classic “the story of Chunhyang”, bringing about the exotic culture to Chinese literature. In 2011, this work was granted the Stallion Award of the Tenth Session of Literary Creation of Chinese Minorities. CHUNHYANG by Kim InSoon is recreation of South Korean classic “the story of Chunhyang”, starting its era of Chinese acceptance, at the same time plays a positive role in introducing South Korean culture to Chinese besides Korean minority. Not only in the degree of acceptance, but also in transmission of South Korean culture, CHUNHYANG has its own literal values. Its other values are not given equal attention, especially the study of characters. To remedy this, the paper focuses on the character transformation of Chunhyang and Menlong to dig into the significance of rewriting such classical work and to grasp the theme accurately. This paper includes the following parts: the first part briefly introduces the writer and her work; the second part makes a contrastive study between CHUNHYANG and “the story of Chunhyang” through analyzing the change of two main characters Chunhyang and Menlong; the last part summarizes the significance of such transformation and the theme of this novel.

      • 김인순 소설《춘향》에서의 변학도와 소단(향단) 인물변용에 대한 고찰

        JinRenshun recreates the Korean classical novel "The Tale of Chunxiang", deconstructs the characters and reshapes them. "Chunxiang" by JinRenshun, as the first Chinese acceptance of Korean classics, leaves great effect on literary communication between China and South Korea. It starts a unique literary mode of narrating the Chinese contemporary thinking in the tongue of Korean classics and brings the foreign sentiments to Chinese readers.This paper compares the Korean classic "The Tale of Chunxiang" with "Chunxiang" by JinRenshun, examining the character transfiguration of minor characters BianXuedao and hyangdan. In doing so, the paper aims to elaborate the modern meaning the writer wants to convey by reshaping the characters BianXuedao and hyangdan.She reveals the solemn thinking of contemporary Chinese about the female growth and marriage.

        A Form-Finding Method of Beam String Structures - Offload by Steps Method

        The problem of form-finding of beam string structures was studied, and the method named offload by steps was put forward in accordance with the properties of the mechanical status of the structures. This method was used to find the form of the unstrained state on the basis of the pre-stressed state without the need to assume the unstrained form first. Numerical simulations and experimental research on the form-finding of beam string structures were carried out to verify the offload by steps method and, more importantly, to study the application of the method in engineering practice. The scale of the experimental model was 1/20, and the stretching pattern was the same as that in practical engineering. Comparisons of internal forces and deformations corresponding to unstrained and pre-stressed states of the model were made between experimental and calculation results. The following conclusions were drawn. First, the offload by steps method can be applied to the engineering practice without assuming the form of the unstrained state, and the form of the unstrained state corresponding to that of the pre-stressed state can be obtained directly. Second, the internal forces of the beam string structures in their pre-stressed states can be obtained easily by using the statically-determinate calculation model in the offload by steps method, which can guide design effectively. Third, the method for estimating the cable tension by balancing the deadweight of the beam string truss can be applied to engineering practice.

        Appearance-based Robot Visual Servo via a Wavelet Neural Network

        This paper proposes a robot visual servo approach based on image appearance and a wavelet function neural network. The inputs of the wavelet neural network are changes of image features or the elements of image appearance vector, and the outputs are changes of robot joint angles. Image appearance vector is calculated by using eigen subspace transform algorithm. The proposed approach does not need a priori knowledge of the robot kinematics, hand-eye geometry and camera models. The experiment results on a real robot system show that the proposed method is practical and simple.

        Joint Mode Selection and Resource Allocation for Mobile Relay-Aided Device-to-Device Communication

        Device-to-Device (D2D) communication underlaying cellular networks is a promising add-on component for future radio communication systems. It provides more access opportunities for local device pairs and enhances system throughput (ST), especially when mobile relays (MR) are further enabled to facilitate D2D links when the channel condition of their desired links is unfavorable. However, mutual interference is inevitable due to spectral reuse, and moreover, selecting a suitable transmission mode to benefit the correlated resource allocation (RA) is another difficult problem. We aim to optimize ST of the hybrid system via joint consideration of mode selection (MS) and RA, which includes admission control (AC), power control (PC), channel assignment (CA) and relay selection (RS). However, the original problem is generally NP-hard; therefore, we decompose it into two parts where a hierarchical structure exists: (i) PC is mode-dependent, but its optimality can be perfectly addressed for any given mode with additional AC design to achieve individual quality-of-service requirements. (ii) Based on that optimality, the joint design of MS, CA and RS can be viewed from the graph perspective and transferred into the maximum weighted independent set problem, which is then approximated by our greedy algorithm in polynomial-time. Thanks to the numerical results, we elucidate the efficacy of our mechanism and observe a resulting gain in MR-aided D2D communication.

        Effect of Dehydration Methods on Antioxidant Activities, Phenolic Contents, Cyclic Nucleotides, and Volatiles of Jujube Fruits

        Changes in antioxidant activities, phenolic contents, cyclic nucleotides, and volatiles of jujube after dehydration using freeze-drying (FD), air drying (AD), sun drying (SD), and microwave drying (MD) were investigated. All dehydration methods caused a decrease in antioxidant activities, aldehyde, acid, and alkane contents. Esters were increased by the dehydration. FD was superior to other dehydration methods for retention of total phenolics, total flavonoids, and antioxidant activities. MD caused an increase of catechin and epichtechin levels. Although AD, MD, and SD caused declines in cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) contents, AD at 50oC was a good choice to obtain jujubes with high levels of cAMP and cGMP. Theoretical fundamentals for selection of suitable drying techniques to minimize the negative effects caused by dehydration and for meeting production requirements are provided.

      • <i>OsASR5</i> enhances drought tolerance through a stomatal closure pathway associated with ABA and H <sub>2</sub> O <sub>2</sub> signalling in rice

        <P><B>Summary</B></P><P>Drought is one of the major abiotic stresses that directly implicate plant growth and crop productivity. Although many genes in response to drought stress have been identified, genetic improvement to drought resistance especially in food crops is showing relatively slow progress worldwide. Here, we reported the isolation of <I>abscisic acid</I>,<I> stress</I> and <I>ripening</I> (<I>ASR</I>) genes from upland rice variety, IRAT109 (<I>Oryza sativa</I> L. ssp. <I>japonica</I>), and demonstrated that overexpression of <I>OsASR5</I> enhanced osmotic tolerance in <I>Escherichia coli</I> and drought tolerance in <I>Arabidopsis</I> and rice by regulating leaf water status under drought stress conditions. Moreover, overexpression of <I>OsASR5</I> in rice increased endogenous ABA level and showed hypersensitive to exogenous ABA treatment at both germination and postgermination stages. The production of H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>, a second messenger for the induction of stomatal closure in response to ABA, was activated in overexpression plants under drought stress conditions, consequently, increased stomatal closure and decreased stomatal conductance. In contrast, the loss‐of‐function mutant, <I>osasr5</I>, showed sensitivity to drought stress with lower relative water content under drought stress conditions. Further studies demonstrated that OsASR5 functioned as chaperone‐like protein and interacted with stress‐related HSP40 and 2OG‐Fe (II) oxygenase domain containing proteins in yeast and plants. Taken together, we suggest that <I>OsASR5</I> plays multiple roles in response to drought stress by regulating ABA biosynthesis, promoting stomatal closure, as well as acting as chaperone‐like protein that possibly prevents drought stress‐related proteins from inactivation.</P>

        First Principles Study of Structural and Electronic Properties of Pentagonal and Hexagonal Noble Metal Nanowires

        The equilibrium structure and electronic properties of four ultrathin free-standing pentagonal and hexagonal noble metal nanowires, that is, copper nanowires (CuNWs), silver nanowires (AgNWs), gold nanowires (AuNWs) and platinum nanowires (PtNWs), have been studied comprehensively by adopting a first-principles simulation based on the density-functional theory. The staggered topologies are more stable than the eclipsed ones by analyzing the bonding energy. The staggered ones with a linear atom chain in the center of the pentagonal or hexagons topologies are the preferred structures for CuNWs and AgNWs, but the staggered ones without a linear atom chain in the center of the pentagon or hexagon are the preferred structures for AuNWs and PtNWs due to the increasing core–core repulsions. The calculated electronic band structures and density of states present that all the noble metal nanowires are metallic. The projected densities of states (PDOS) of dominant d-states and the charge density show that the narrower d-state moved to the Fermi energy and metallic bonding character for all the noble metal nanowires.
