        남성들의 난임체험에 대한 현상학적 사례연구

        최근 난임 여성들이 증가하고 있지만 난임 여성들과 가장 밀접하게 상호작용하고 있는 남성들에 대한 연구는 부족하다. 난임은 시각에 따라 여성만의 문제로 보이기도 하지만 그 본질은 부부의 문제로 인식되어야만 할 것이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 부부 중 한쪽인 여성에 대한 연구가 주로 진행되고 있는 현실에서 남성의 난임 경험을 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 난임을 경험한 남성들을 대상으로 현상학적 사례연구를 통해 그들의 난임 경험의 본질을 살펴보고자 했다. 이를 위해 6명의 남성을 상대로 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 난임 여성을 배우자로 둔 남성들의 난임 경험의 본질은 “정상성의 박탈과 사회적 소외”, “부부 관계 질의 고갈”, “대안 모색 과정에서 넓어진 부부 사이의 틈”, “인식과 관심 대상의 확장”으로 드러났다. 연구 결과를 통해서 남성들도 난임 가족에 속한 사회적 개입 대상자라는 인식을 하게 되었으며, 이들로 하여금 난임의 심리적인 고통에서 벗어나 새로운 삶을 적극적으로 확장해 갈 수 있도록 지원할 필요가 있음을 확인하였다. Despite recent increase in the numbers of research studies on women experiencing infertility, there is a dearth of research studies on male partners who are in close relationship with his spouse experiencing the same infertility. Social problem of infertility, which might be regarded as women`s problem, should be recognized in essence as the problem of couples. Nevertheless until now research studies have been focused on one part of couples, that is women. In this situation it will be meaningful to search for the meaning of infertility experienced by male partners. This study aimed to search for the essential nature of infertility experienced by male partners. For this, researchers had in-depth interviews with six male partners experiencing infertility. Phenomenological case study method has been employed to analyze the collected qualitative data. The result showed that major themes could be summarized as: 1) deprival of normality, and social isolation; 2) depletion of couple relationship quality; 3) widened gap between spouse in the process of searching for alternatives; and 4) extension in the objects of both perception and regard. Implications have been provided along with suggestions for further studies as well as social services for the male partners experiencing infertility.

        안면신경 마비 환자에 있어서의 측두근 및 근막피판을 이용한 안면근 기능 회복 증례보고

        Generally, the totally paralyzed face can never be made normal by any of the current methods of reconstruction. Careful selection of patients based on sound judgment of what can and cannot be achieved by the proposed surgical technique is paramount to a successful operation and a satisfied patient. The results are related to time of delayed between injury and repair : the shorter the delay the better are the results. The objectives in correcting facial paralysis are to achieve normal appearance at rest ; symmetry with voluntary motion ; control of the ocular, oral, and nasal sphincter; symmetry with involuntary emotion and controlled balance when expressing when expressing emotion ; and no significant functional deficit secondary to the reconstructive surgery. It must be employed a number of concepts, for treatment of the paralyzed face by surgeon, depending on the cause, time interval, and wound characteristics, as well as the availability of and necessity for neuromuscular substitution. Nerve grafts, crossovers, muscle transfers, free muscle and nerve-muscle grafts, micronuerovascular muscle transfers, and regional muscle transpostion are the principal methods being developed. We applied the tmporal musle transposition for reanimation of unilatrally paralyzed faces for long times on two patients. The results of muscle transposition can be enhanced by the patient's learning to activate the transposed muscle by voluntary effort, and are best in patients who are motivated to learn the necessary motor-sensory coordination techniques.

        비장동맥류의 임상적 경험

        Purpose: Splenic artery aneurysm is uncommon, but the increased frequency in use of arteriography, computed tomography, and ultrasonography has resulted in increasing clinical recognition of these lesions. This paper relates our experience in the outcome and management of aneurysms of the splenic artery. Methods: From January 1992 to October 1999, 12 patients were diagnosed with splenic artery aneurysms. They were retrospectively anslyzed. Results: The male to female ratio was 1: 4 and the mean age was 46.3 years. The mean of pregnancy history of all women was 3.0 and there were no pregnant women during operation. The associated diseases that might have caused the aneurysms were pancreatitis in 5 patients, portal hypertension in 1, operative trauma in 1, and ill defined pathogenesis in 5 patients. The size of the aneurysms was larger than 2 cm in all patients. The splenic artery aneurysms was located at distal in 9 patients, mid in 1, and proximal in 2 patients. 7 patients were treated surgically (aneurysmectomy without splenectomy in 1 patient, aneurysmectomy with splenectomy in 6 patients). Transcatheter embolization was used in 4 patients. One of them was treated with distal pancreatectomy after two months because of pancreatic pseudocyst. One patient without treatment died 2 years after diagnosis. Conclusion: Althougb surgery remains necessary in splenic artery aneurysms larger than 2 cm, transcatheter embolization is effective in initial treatment of the high risk group in splenic artery aneurysms.

        The Effect of Treadmill Exercise on Tau Hyperphosphorylayion in an Aged Transgenic Mouse Model of Taupathies

        Alzheimer`s disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia in adults. Microtubule associated protein tau is abnormally phosphorylated in AD and aggregates as paired helical filaments (PHFs) in neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs). NFTs are the most common intraneuronal inclusion in the brains of patients with AD and have been implicated in mediating neuronal cell death and cognitive deficit. Aberrant phosphorylation of tau is an early pathological event in AD, but the underlying mechanisms are unclear. MAP kinases are a family of Serine/Threonine (Ser/Thr) kinases that involved hyper - phosphorylation of tau in AD. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of treadmill exercise on phosphorylation of tau level and activation of MAPKs including JNK, ERK, p38-MAPK, To address this, Tg mouse model of AD, Tg-NSE/hTau 23, which expresses human tau 23 in the brain, was chosen. Animals were subjected to treadmill exercise for 12 weeks from 24 months of age, Treadmill exercise in Tg group improved cognitive function compared with Tg-SED group in watermaze test. In addition, treadmill exercised Tg mice significantly reduced the activation of JNK54/46, p38-MAPK and tau (Ser404, Ser202, Thr231), and increased activation of ERK44/42 in cerebral cortex. These results suggest that treadmill exercise may provide a therapeutic potential to alleviate the tau pathology like AD.

        Anti-inflammatory effects of Cheongilppong on DSS-induced ulcerative colitis in mice

        Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is characterized by detrimental immune reactivity in the gut, and the imbalance between proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory reactivity. The incidence and prevalence rates of IBD in Korea have been increasing rapidly during the past decades. In this study, we tried to find the new effect of fruits and branches of mulberry tree called Cheongilppong in Korea (belongs to $Morus$ $alba$, Moraceae). The previous studies revealed mulberry fruits and branches had anti-oxidative effect and anti-inflammatory effect. In the present study, the fruits and branch of Cheongilppong inhibited the inflammatory responses on dextran sulfate sodium induced ulcerative colitis in mice and the production of nitrite oxide from lipopolysaccharide and interferon-gamma stimulated mouse peritoneal macrophages. These results may be relevant for future pharmacological or dietary interventions in patients with ulcerative colitis.

        Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is characterized by detrimental immune reactivity in the gut, and the imbalance between proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory reactivity. The incidence and prevalence rates of IBD in Korea have been increasing rapidly during the past decades. In this study, we investigated regulatory effect of leaf of a mulberry tree (Moraceae) called Gwasang-No.2 in Korea. Leaf of Gwasang-No.2 (Gwa.L) inhibited the inflammatory responses on dextran sulfate sodium induced ulcerative colitis in mice and the production of nitrite oxide from lipopolysaccharide and interferon-gamma stimulated mouse peritoneal macrophages. Gwa.L inhibited IL-6 and IL-8 production from HMC-1 cells without cytotoxic effects on cell viability. These results may be relevant for future pharmacological or dietary interventions in patients with ulcerative colitis.

      • Comparison of <i>in vivo</i> targeting ability between cRGD and collagen-targeting peptide conjugated nano-carriers for atherosclerosis

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Atherosclerosis plaque is a major cause of cardiovascular diseases across the globe and a silent killer. There are no physical symptoms of the disease in its early stage and current diagnostic techniques cannot detect the small plaques effectively or safely. Plaques formed in blood vessels can cause serious clinical problems such as impaired blood flow or sudden death, regardless of their size. Thus, detecting early stage of plaques is especially more important to effectively reduce the risk of atherosclerosis. Nanoparticle based delivery systems are recognized as a promising option to fight against this disease, and various targeting ligands are typically used to improve their efficiency. So, the choice of appropriate targeting ligand is a crucial factor for optimal targeting efficiency. cRGD peptide and collagen IV targeting peptide, which binds with the α<SUB>v</SUB>β<SUB>3</SUB> integrin overexpressed in the neovasculature of the plaque and collagen type IV present in the plaque, respectively, are frequently used for the targeting of nanoparticles. However, at present no study has directly compared these two peptides. Therefore, in this study, we have prepared cRGD or collagen IV targeting (Col IV-tg-) peptide conjugated and iron oxide nanoparticle (IONP) loaded Pluronic based nano-carriers for systemic comparison of their targeting ability towards <I>in vivo</I> atherosclerotic plaque in Apolipoprotein E deficient (<I>Apo E</I> <SUP>−/−</SUP>) mouse model. Nano-carriers with similar size, surface charge, and IONP loading content but with different targeting ligands were analyzed through <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I> experiments. Near infrared fluorescence imaging and magnetic resonance imaging techniques as well as Prussian blue staining were used to compare the accumulation of different ligand conjugated nano-caariers in the aorta of atherosclerotic mice. Our results indicate that cRGD based targeting is more efficient than Col IV-tg-peptide in the early stage of atherosclerosis.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        가토 대퇴골골에 중첩이식된 단순냉동 및 냉동 건조 동종골의 치유과정에 관한 실험적 연구

        The use of autologous bone grafts for ridge augmentation is widely accepted. However, the development of other bone graft substitutes reduced the importance of the site from which grafting material is taken. Allogeneic bone grafts are a potential alternative. The variables that may influence the results of allogeneic bone grafts, are whether the grafts are cortical or cancellous, chips or blocks, undecalcified or fully decalcified, deep freeting or freeze-dried, etc.. In an experimental study of the femurs of rabbits on which the onlay undecalcified cortical bone grafts were performed, we observed the histologic differences between deep forzen and freeze-dried cortical allogeneic bone grafts on the healing and repair processes. These results can be compared to those from autologous bone grafts. The from autologous bone were: 1. The inflammatory reaction with macrophages and lymphocytes were observed in the first week, but disappeared before 4 weeks. The inflammatory reaction was more severe in the deep frozen group. 2. In the freeze-dried group, the bony union was earlier than the deep frozen group. 3. The osteoblastic activity of grafts increased for the first 6 weeks then decreased slightly by 8 weeks. Osteoblasts were more active in the autologous and freeze-dried groups. 4. New bone formation was slower in the deep frozen group in the first two weeks, but after two weeks there were no distinguishable differences between the groups. 5. The bone resorptions around the grafts continued far 6 weeks after the operation. The bone resorptions were greater in the deep frozen group. 6. More capillary proliferations in the intersurfaces and grafts were observed in the autologous and freeze-dried group. In the results as written above, the freeze-dried group was superior to deep frozen group in the healing process, but in fact, there were considered that the undecalcified, freeze-dried or deep frozen allogeneic bones could be used in the onlay graft for augmentation of jaws.

        인터넷 날씨정보표현 보조조명 개발

        인간의 불의 발견 이후 인간의 생활에 있어서 조명은 없어서는 안 되는 도구가 되었다. 최초 불로 시작했다고 보는 인공조명의 역사는 발열이 많이 되는 연소방식의 조명에서 전기방식의 조명으로의 전환과 전자방식의 조명으로의 발전에 따라 인간의 조명의 사용방식을 혁신적으로 바꾸기 시작했다. 조명의 이런 역사적, 기술적 발전으로 인해 현대의 조명의 역할은 단순히 특정 공간이나 위치를 광원을 통해 밝게 해주는 기능에서 멈추지 않고 확장되어 다양한 목적으로 확장되기 시작했으며, 실내용 조명에 있어서는 특정 장소를 밝히는 목적을 넘어서 조명의 효과가 주는 매력감, 압박감 등의 감성적 특성을 통해 공간에 대한 개성을 부여하고 감정을 유발하는 용도로 사용되기 시작했다. 이런 조명에 대한 개념적 확장은 조명의 용도와 역할을 넘어서 그 자체로 미적인 부분 등의 추가적 목적을 충족시켜야 한다는 것에 초점이 맞춰지고 있으며 특히 미학적인 관점에서는 조명이 유휴상태일 경우 조명 자체의 미적인 감성을 충족시키는 부분에 대한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 조명의 개념적 확장의 부분에서 조명 자체의 기능을 넘어서 조명이 유휴상태일 때에도 다른 기능, 즉 정보전달을 해주는 매체로서의 기능도 수행하는 가능성에 대해 고민하였다. 정보의 출처로는 전 세계적으로 가장 많은 정보가 유통되는 플랫폼인 웹으로부터 얻는 방법을 구상하였으며, 대표정보로는 날씨정보를 선택하였다. 특히 정보제공업체에서 제공해 주는 API1)를 활용하였는데, 날씨 정보 API를 활용한 방법은 최근 유행하는 SNS나 여타 인터넷 프로그램들이 제공하는 서비스의 활용방법과 큰 차이가 없기 때문에 SNS등의 다양한 방법으로의 확장이 가능하며, 이것은 날씨표시 보조조명의 가능성을 무한대로 확장할 수 있는 방식이다. 이런 가능성을 현재의 조명이 광원, 배광형태, 설치위치에 따라 어떤 특성을 갖는지 조사 후, 조건에 맞는 조명의 형태와 특징을 유추해 내었으며, 이 결과를 이용해 실제 프로토타입 제작을 하여, 인터넷 정보표시 보조조명의 가능성에 대해 확인을 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 간단하지만 다양한 방식의 정보표현이 가능한 조명에 대한 가능성에 대한 접근을 해보았으며, 앞서 언급한 것과 같이 이와 같은 정보표현의 내용은 그 제공 데이터에 따라 무한한 확장이 가능하다. 본 연구는 다양한 정보표현 방식과 다양한 정보의 융합을 통해 새로운 방식의 조명제작에 기여할 것이다. Lighting has been essential to human life since the discovery of fire. Since the history of artificial lighting was initially derived from fire, it has been switched from combustion lighting systems generating high heat to electric lighting systems. Furthermore, the development of electronic lighting has changed human light usage radically. The historical and technological development of lighting has kept expanding the role of modern lighting. That is, the functionality of simply lighting up a particular area or location has been expanded for a wide variety of purposes. Therefore, indoor lighting fixtures have begun to express individuality and to induce feelings for space through lighting effects beyond the purpose of illuminating a particular place because lighting effects can bring about emotional characteristics such as attractiveness and pressure. The extended concept of lighting focuses on meeting additional purposes such as aesthetic aspects beyond its basic purpose and role. In particular, there have been numerous studies to meet the aesthetic sensibility of the lighting itself in the idle state. In this paper, we have tried to extend the concept of lighting to support other lighting functions such as information delivery even in its idle state beyond its own capabilities. In particular, we have implemented the prototype by using weather API on the Web platform which distributes most information all over the world. There are no significant differences between using weather information API to create a series of prototypes and using the services provided by the recently popular SNS and other internet programs. Therefore, the approach using weather information is also expected to be extended in other various ways. In addition, it is possible to consider the structural implementation in many different ways. In particular, we have tried to keep the emotional aspects through the dynamic representation of the information with the surface light source rather than the efficiency aspects through the detailed representation of the information with the point light source matrix. However, the proposed view and approach can be reconfigured in other various ways. In this study, the potential lighting system is expected to be actualized in order to support the simple but multiple representation of the information.
