A 10-year-old intact female Miniature Schnauzer dog was referred with the primary complaint of persistentanorexia, remittent fever, vomiting and abdominal pain. Hemogram suggested a chronic inflammatory disease. Serumbiochemistry showed moderate hepatobiliary cellular damage with severe cholestasis. Abdominal radiography andultrasonography revealed hepatomegaly, choleliths and sludges in gall bladder and small stones in urinary bladder. Basedcholecystectomy and cystectomy, choleliths and uroliths were removed from gall bladder and urinary bladder,respectively. The clinical condition was dramatically improved after surgery.

Direction Fourier transform has been used to measure small in-plane displacement of a specimen in speckle interferometry. A rectangular steel plate with a circular hole at the center has been used as the specimen.Thirty-two interference fringe images of the specimen each of which has different phase of π/16 radians have been obtained by phase shifting method of speckle interferometry in optical experiment and they have been used for direction Fourier transform. The results of in-plane displacement of the specimen by the phase shifting method and direction Fourier transform have agreed well with those by finite element method.

Objectives : Since the publication of Korean Medication Algorithm Project for Major DepressiveDisorder (KMAP-MD) in 2002, there has been a substantial need for a revision due to rapid progress in the pharmacological management of depressive disorder. We revised KMAP-MD 2002 and developed the Korean Medication Algorithm Project for Depressive Disorder (KMAP-DD) 2006. Methods : We developed a questionniare for surveying the opinion of experts on pharmacotherapy of depressive disorder. The questionnaire consisted of 4 parts ; 1) treatment of non-psychotic depressive disorder, 2) treatment of psychotic de-pressive disorder, 3) treatment according to clinical subtypes and drugs choice considering adverse effects, and 4) treatment of depressive disorder in women. The questionnaire was completed by the review committee consisting of 101 experienced Korean psychiatrists. It is composed of 22 questions, and each question includes 54 sub-items. We classified the expert opinionto 3 categories (the first-line, the second-line, or the third-line) by χ²-test. Results : For depressive disorder with psychotic features, most reviewers prefer the combination of antidepressant and atypical antipsychotics. Electroconvulsive therapy and the combination of antidepressant and typical antipsychotics were the second-line treatment. Among antidepressants, venlafaxine was the most preferred, and SSRI and mirtazapine followed. Among atypical antipsychotics, quetiapine, risperidone and olanzapine were the most preferred, in this order. In patients who have no response to the first-line treatment, many reviewers recommended switching to another antidepressant or adding another atypical antipsychotics Conclusion : For severe depressive disorder with psychotic features, the combination of antidepressant and atypical antipsy-chotics was preferred for the first-line treatment. These results suggest that the medication strategies of depressive disorder are rapidly changing and reflects the recent studies and clinical experiences.
미꾸리과 어류 남방종개 Iksookimia hugowolfeldi (Cobitidae)의 핵형

영산강의 상류인 전라남도 장성군 북하면 신계리에서 2003년 2월 3월에 채집된 남방종개 Iksookimia hugowolfeldi 암컷 14마리와 수컷 9마리의 신장 조직에서 염색체를 조사하였다. 2n 염색체수는 50개이었는데 핵형은 meta-submetacentrics이 24개이고, subtelo-telocentrics가 26개였으며 FN은 74개이었다. 염색체에서 배수체나 암수간의 성적이형은 보이지 않았다. Chromosome analysis of the southern spined loach, Iksookimia hugowolfeldi was investigated in 23 individuals collected at Bukha-myon, Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do Provice, Korea an upper stream of the Yongsan River, in February, 2003. The diploid modal number of the specimens examined was 50, and the karyotype was composed of 24 metacentrics-submetacentrics and 26 subtelocentrics-telocentrics. Polyploidy and sex dimorphism were not observed in the present species.

We studied the relationship between a civil affair occurrence of bad smell and meteorological conditions around Seongseo district for recent 2 years. The results were as follows; (1) The civil affair occurrence days of bad smell were concentrated from May to August. (2) Daily mean temperatures were mostly 20~28℃ and daily mean relative humidities were 60~80%. (3) Wind speeds were mostly less than 2m/s(75%). and wind directions were southerly winds(50%). It was hardly occurred for relatively well-ventilated conditions in cases of wind speeds 2m/s over. And the Lagrangian particle dispersion model were used to figure out the transport route in a civil affairoccurrence days of bad smell. It was found that the south-western winds transported the bad smelling materials from Jungni-dong(the place of source) to the housing complex located along a piedmont district.
MOCVD법에 의해 제조된 Fe₂O₃-TiO₂계 박막의 내식성과 광전류 응답 특성에 관한 연구

Fe₂O₃-TiO₂ films were formed by MOCVD technique, and their corrosion resistance and photoelectrochemical property were examined in acidic, neutral and alkaline solutions. The corrosion resistance was examined by an anodic polarization test, and the photocurrent response by a photoelectrochemical polarization test. The photocurrent and quantum yield maximum of the films depend on the titanium cationic fraction(Xη) in the films. They decreased in the range of Xη=0.0-0.70, then increased in the range of Xη=0.70-0.95, and finally decreased in the range of Xη=0.91-1.0 with increasing Xηvalue. The increase in the photocurrent and quuantum yield maximum in the range of Xη=0.70-0.95 was attributed to the amorphous structure. Such a change in the photocurrent and quantum yield maximum was independent to the solution pH. The corrosion resistance of the films increased with increasing Xηvalue of the film in acidic, neutral and alkaline solutions. Therefore, the films with Xη=0370-0.95 can be concluded to have high photocurrent response and high corrosion resistance.

콘크리트 비파괴검사법인 충격공진법의 유용성과 적용 한계를 살펴보기 위하여 실험 및 이론적 연구를 수행하였다. 실험적 연구를 위하여, 다양한 개재물이 포함된 콘크리트 슬래브 공시체를 제작한 후 충격공진법을 적용하여 개재물의 존재 및 매설 위치를 찾아보았다. 공시체들 중 몇 경우에는 개재물의 위치를 정확하게 검출할 수 있었으나, 나머지의 경우에는 검출하지 못하였다. 후자의 경우에 있어서 그 실패 원인을 규명하고, 나아가 본 기법의 유용성을 결정하는 주요 인자들을 알아보기 위하여 유한요소 해석을 수행하였다. 본 연구는 충격공진법의 물리적 이해 증진과 향후 발전에 기여할 것이다. The usefulness and limitations of the impact-resonance method, which is a nondestructive evaluation (NDE) method for concrete, are studied by both experimental and theoretical methods. For the experimental study, several concrete slab specimens with various inclusions embedded were fabricated, and tested by the impact-resonance method. Some of the inclusions have been detected and accurately located, but some have not. The reasons for the failure in the latter cases have been investigated theoretically by using finite element analyses, from which the primary factors determining the success of the method have also been identified. This study will serve to enhance the understanding of the underlying physics and to improve the usefulness of the impact-resonance method as applied to concrete NDE.

The DMA(Dimethylamine) gas sensors were fabricated with the ZnO-based thin films grown by a RF magnetron sputtering method. We investigated the sensitivity and response time according to temperature variation and DMA gas concentration. The ZnO-based thin film sensors sputtered in oxygen atmosphere showed higher sensitivity than those sputtered in argon atmosphere. The ZnO-based thin film sensors doped with Al_(2)O_(3), In_(2)O_(3) and V_(2)O_(5) and sputtered in oxygen atmosphere showed the maximum sensitivity of 218(working temperature, 250 ℃, DMA gas, 160 ppm) and speedy response time. The ZnO-based thin film sensors doped with Al_(2)O_(3), In_(2)O_(3), TiO_(2) and V_(2)O_(5), sputtered in oxygen atmosphere and aged at 330 ℃ showed the maximum sensitivity of 156(working temperature, 250 ℃, DMA gas, 160 ppm).
