Designing an Evaluation Method for the in-situ Impact Strength of Rollable Devices

In this study, a methodology for evaluating impact strength in rollable devices was developed, focusing on measuring impact strength and evaluating rolling and unrolling durability simultaneously, with findings reported from tests on a real demonstration unit. The study utilized a flexible and rollable polyimide (PI) substrate for the evaluations. The chosen parameters for this methodology were a flat-type impactor, weights of 300 g, 500 g, and 1000 g, a rolling shaft ranging from 30 R to 5 R, and the positioning of the impactor. The results revealed that the difference in defect rates when comparing the 300 g and 500 g weights was minimal. However, the adoption of a 1000 g weight markedly increased the defect count due to damage to the PI film's surface. Furthermore, an uptick in rolling and unrolling cycles led to more pronounced surface scratches on the PI film. These methods and findings are poised to make a substantial contribution towards refining reliability testing for a wide array of rollable device applications, including smartphones, watches, pads, and wearable technology.
Roles of 7-ketocholesterol on the Homeostasis of Intracellular Cholesterol Level

ABSTRACT:: Atherosclerotic plaque contains materials, such as cholesterol, oxysterols, cell debris, modified fatty acids, and infiltrated cells. Among them, cholesterol is the major component in plaque. Cholesterol is known to originate from the influx of extracellular materials, but this explanation is not enough for the cholesterol accumulation observed in atherosclerotic plaque. This study examined the origins of cholesterols in plaques. The main focus was to determine if the intracellular cholesterol levels are affected by oxysterols in human vascular smooth muscle cells. The results showed that the cholesterol levels increased in response to a 7-ketocholesterol (7K)-treatment in a dose-dependent manner. Eight enzymes involved in cholesterol biosynthesis were examined. Among them, squalene epoxidase (SQLE) was increased by 7K but not by 7α-hydroxycholesterol, 27-hydroxycholesterol (27OH-chol), or cholesterol. The 7K-induced SQLE expression was suppressed in the presence of the enzyme inhibitor SB203580 but not by UO126 and SP600125. The SQLE immunoreactivity was detected in the atherosclerotic plaque of the aortic roots from apoE mice. In addition, 7K increased the cholesterol level and SQLE expression in murine bone marrow–derived macrophages. This suggests that 7K increases the intracellular cholesterol level through an elevation of SQLE expression, which might affect the progress of cholesterol accumulation in the atherosclerotic lipid core.

<P>New stable palladium-hydride complexes catalyze the highly regio- and stereoselective isomerization of 1-alkenes at multiple positions. Tuning the ligand and the reaction conditions allowed the position and geometry of the double bonds to be controlled with excellent conversions and selectivities. The catalytic species, a Pd-H complex, was prepared by reacting [LPdCl2] with a silver salt, followed by conversion into Pd-H by using a silyl hydride. The structures of the Pd complexes were determined by using X-ray crystal-lography and NMR spectroscopy.</P>
Epidemiological characteristics of and containment measures for COVID-19 in Busan, Korea

OBJECTIVES: To describe and evaluate epidemiological investigation results and containment measures implemented in Busan, where 108 cases were confirmed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) between February 21, 2020 and March 24, 2020. METHODS: Any individual who tested positive for COVID-19 was classified as a confirmed case. Measures were taken to identify the source of infection and trace and quarantine contacts. Serial intervals were estimated and the effective reproduction number was computed. RESULTS: Of the total 18,303 COVID-19 tests performed between January 16, 2020 and March 24, 2020 in Busan, 108 yielded positive results (positive test rate, 0.6%). All confirmed cases were placed in isolation at hospitals. Of the 108 confirmed cases, 59 (54.6%) were female. The most common age group was 20-29 years with 37 cases (34.3%). Regarding symptoms at the time of diagnosis, cough (n=38, 35.2%) and fever (n=34, 31.5%) were most common; 12 cases (11.1%) were asymptomatic. The source of infection was identified in 99 cases (91.7%). A total of 3,223 contacts were identified and quarantined. Household contacts accounted for 196, and the household secondary attack rate was 8.2% (95% confidence interval [CI], 4.7 to 12.9). The mean serial interval was estimated to be 5.54 days (95% CI, 4.08 to 7.01). After February 26, (Rt) remained below 1 in Busan. CONCLUSIONS: The early containment strategy implemented in Busan shows that control is possible if outbreaks are of limited scope. In preparation for future outbreaks, public health and healthcare systems should be re-examined and put in a ready state.

본 연구는 노인의 가족건강성이 치매태도에 미치는 영향요인을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 조사대상은 경기도 내 노인복지관을 이용하는 60세 이상 노인 550명이었으며 설문지를 활용하여 대면조사를 실시하였고 자료 분석을 위해 요인분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 활용하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노인의 가족건강성은 가족유대감, 가족 간 의사소통, 건강가치 공유, 가족문제 해결 능력 등 4가지 요인으로 나타났으며 치매에 대한 태도는 정서적 태도와 행동적 태도로 분류되었다. 둘째, 치매에 대한 행동적 태도에는 가족유대감(β = .250)과 학력(β = -.120)이 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 치매에 대한 정서적 태도에는 가족건강성 요인은 통계적으로 유의미한 영향력을 나타내지 않았고 학력(β = .164), 연령대(β = -.116), 치매 관심정도(β = .105), 삶의 만족도(β = .099)인 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 치매환자에 있어 가장 중요한 치매태도에 대한 영향요인을 탐색함에 있어 가장 중요한 지지체계인 가족의 건강성 영향력을 확인하였다는 데에 그 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study is to examine effect factors of family strengths of the elderly on attitude toward dementia. For this study it is surveyed 550 elderly people aged over 60 years who visited Senior Community Centers in Gyeonggi Province. The subjects completed a questionnaire and the data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0. The major findings were as follows; First, family strengths of the elderly consists of four factors; family ties, communication between family members. health worth sharing, problem solving ability and attitude to dementia was classified as emotional attitudes and behavioral attitudes. Second, family ties(β = .250) and education(β = -.120) showed significant impacts to behavioral attitudes to dementia. Third, family strengths had not significant impact to the emotional attitudes to dementia. But education level(β = .164), age(β = -.116), interest about dementia(β = .105), life satisfaction (β = .099) showed statistically significant influence to the emotional attitudes to dementia.

2010년 12월 21일 경춘선 복선전철의 완전개통으로 인하여 당초 상봉~춘천간 100분에 운행되던 열차가 ITX 좌석형 급행열차 운행으로 용산~춘천간은 73분, 청량리~춘천간은 57분에 주파하는 등 춘천과 강원권의 관광산업에 획기적인 영향을 주고 있다. 하지만 경춘선 노선이 수도권 북부 및 경기 동북부에 편중되어 있는 관계로 최대의 수요유발 지역이라고 할 수 있는 강남권 및 수도권 동남부 지역에 대한 철도 이용객을 끌어 들이지 못하는 것도 또한, 사실이다. 이에 강남권 및 수도권 동남부 지역의 철도 이용객 NEEDS를 객관적인 정량화를 위하여 설문조사를 실시하고, NEED를 충족시킬 수 있는 경춘선 접근성 향상을 위해 현재 추진 중인 광역철도의 조기개통 및 수도권 순환철도 연결 등을 제시하여 강남권 등 수도권 지역의 철도 이용객이 만족할 수 있는 경춘선 이용 증대방안을 마련코자 한다. Gyeongchun double track line was completely open in Dec.21,2010. The time which originally cost 100 minutes for Sangbong-Chuncheon became 73 minutes for Yongsan-Chuncheon and 57 minutes for Cheongnyangni-ChunCheon with the start of ITX seat express train service, and it brought epoch-making influences to the tourism of Chuncheon and Gangwon area. However, since Gyeongchun line is located too much toward the north capital area and northeast of Gyeonggi, so it could not attract railway users of Gangnam and southeast capital area which could be considered the area with the most needs for railway service. Thus, for the objective quantification of Gangnam area and southeast capital area railway user’s needs, surveys are to be carried out, and in order to increase the accessibility of Gyeongchun line and meeting the& & user’s needs, early opening of currently promoting sustainable railway and connection to the capital area circular railway are to be suggested, so to draw up the Gyeongchun line use increase plan which could satisfy the railway users of all capital area including Gangnam etc.
