        Marketization and Market Capacity

        In the post-reform China, the middle class remains relatively weak despite its expanding size, which is a basic structural feature of the Chinese society. How to develop the Chinese middle class has become one important issue in the middle-class research. It is suggested that three approaches can be relied on to develop Chinese’s middle class: education, expertise, and the market. Based on the three approaches, as well as data from the Survey of Living Conditions of Residents in Megacities, this study analyzes how the middle class is formed in China from the perspective of marketization and market capacity.

        Electrical conduction mechanism and photon-generated carrier recombination process in amorphous InSb films

        Temperature dependence of dark conductivity and photoconductivity has been studied in amorphous InSb thin films in the temperature range of 120―300 K. The experimental data suggest that conduction in the high temperature range occurs in the extended states; conduction in the intermediate temperature range is due to thermally assisted tunneling of charge carriers in localized states near the band edge; while conduction in low temperature range takes place through variable range hopping of charge carriers in the localized states near the Fermi level. The temperature dependence of photoconductivity shows that the temperature region is divided into two regions.Moreover the result of intensity dependence of steady state photoconductivity indicates that bimolecular recombination at high temperatures and monomolecular at low temperatures in amorphous InSb thin films.

        A prediction model of the sum of container based on combined BP neural network and SVM

        The prediction of the sum of container is very important in the field of container transport. Many influencingfactors can affect the prediction results. These factors are usually composed of many variables, whosecomposition is often very complex. In this paper, we use gray relational analysis to set up a proper forecastindex system for the prediction of the sum of containers in foreign trade. To address the issue of the lowaccuracy of the traditional prediction models and the problem of the difficulty of fully considering all the factorsand other issues, this paper puts forward a prediction model which is combined with a back-propagation (BP)neural networks and the support vector machine (SVM). First, it gives the prediction with the data normalizedby the BP neural network and generates a preliminary forecast data. Second, it employs SVM for the residualcorrection calculation for the results based on the preliminary data. The results of practical examples show thatthe overall relative error of the combined prediction model is no more than 1.5%, which is less than the relativeerror of the single prediction models. It is hoped that the research can provide a useful reference for theprediction of the sum of container and related studies.

        Effect of phosphorus deficiency on erythrocytic morphology and function in cows

        The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of phosphorus (P) deficiency on the morphological and functional characteristics of erythrocytes in cows. Forty Holstein-Friesian dairy cows in mid-lactation were randomly divided into two groups of 20 each and were fed either a low-P diet (0.03% P/kg dry matter [DM]) or a control diet (0.36% P/kg DM). Red blood cell (RBC) indices results showed RBC and mean corpuscular hemoglobin decreased while mean corpuscular volume increased significantly (p < 0.05) in P-deficient cows. Erythrocyte morphology showed erythrocyte destruction in P-deficient cows. Erythrocytes’ functional characteristics results showed total bilirubin and indirect bilirubin concentrations and aspartate transaminase and alanine transaminase activity levels in the serum of P-deficient cows were significantly higher than those in control diet-fed cows. Activities of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase in erythrocytes were lower, while the malondialdehyde content was greater, in P-deficient cows than in control diet-fed cows. Na+/K+-ATPase and Mg2+-ATPase activities were lower in P-deficient cows than in control diet-fed cows; however, Ca2+-ATPase activity was not significantly different. The phospholipid composition of the erythrocyte membrane changed and membrane fluidity rigidified in P-deficient cows. The results indicate that P deficiency might impair erythrocyte integrity and functional characteristics in cows.

        ZIF-67 modified MXene/sepiolite composite membrane for oil–water separation and heavy metal removal

        In this study, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) was used as a cross-linking agent leading to ZIF-67 in-situ growon the surface of sepiolite (Sep) to increase the specific surface area and space volume of Sep. Subsequently, a hydrothermal synthesis method was used to form a stable super-hydrophilic compositemembrane from the composite MXene by polydopamine. Compared to the MXene/PDA/Sep (MPS) compositemembrane, the composite membrane with ZIF-67 exhibited improved hydrophilicity and heavymetal separation. In addition, the introduction of negatively charged Sep@ZIF-67–24 (SZ-24) increasedthe number of adsorption active sites and negative potential for the surface of the membrane, and thiswas conducive to the demulsification and adsorption of oil–water emulsions. The MXene/PDA/Sep@ZIF-67–1 (MSZ-1) composite membrane had excellent separation effects on surfactant-stabilizedemulsions (SSEs) and surfactant-free emulsions (SFEs) oil–water emulsions which were above 99.4 %. Furthermore, the separation effect on oil–water, under extreme water conditions, was greater than99 %. The MSZ-1 composite membrane can achieve excellent separation of heavy metal ions, especiallyCu2+ that the rejection was 79.9 %, under high flux and extreme conditions. Therefore, the MSZ-1 compositemembrane has broad application prospects in oil–water treatment and heavy metal separation.
