This study has been carried out to investigate Pyu-Juk ( 肺積 ), Pyu-Ong ( 肺癰 ), Pyu-Ju ( 肺疽 ), Pyu-Am ( 肺癌 ) by referring to 56 literatures. The results were obtained as follows; 1. Pulmonary epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (PEH) is a rare, low-to-intermediate malignant tumor of endothelial origin. Computed tomography (CT) findings of PEH demonstrate multiple small bilateral nodules; however, to the best of our knowledge, there were no reports on PEH coexisting with other malignancies. Here, we reported on a case involving PEH in a patient with colon cancer and breast cancer which was misconceived as pulmonary meta- stasis. A 63-year-old woman who suffered from constipation for 2 weeks visited our hospital. Colonoscopy showed a large mass with obstruction on hepatic flexure. The histological diagnosis was adenocarcinoma of the ascending colon. Multiple nodules in both lungs and breast were observed on a chest CT scan. A core biopsy of a breast nodule was performed and a diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma of the left breast was made. Pulmonary nodules observed on the chest CT scan was considered as pulmonary metastasis from colon or breast cancer. Laparoscopic right hemicolectomy was performed. At the same time, wedge resection of the lung was performed and pathological diagnosis was PEH. Radiologic features of PEH were difficult to distinguish from lung metastasis. Therefore the author reported a rare case involving PEH in a patient with primary malignancy of colon and breast.
S-9 Long-term efficacy of tenofovir for nucleos(t)ide-naive patients with chronic hepatitis B

Backgrounds:?Tenofovir (TDF) is nucleoside analogue with high potency for profound and durable viral suppression and genetic barriers against resistance; TDF is recommended for the first-line treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) in current guidelines, but data in Korean patients from community studies are lacking. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of TDF, and to determine patient-dependent or laboratory variables that predict virological response. Methods:?We retrospectively investigated the efficacy of TDF treatment for more than 6 months in 456 nucleos(t)ide-naive CHB patients. The primary endpoint was a virological response (VR), defined as an HBV DNA level of <12 IU/mL. Secondary endpoints were rates of ALT normalization (ALT <upper limit of normal), HBeAg seroconversion, partial virologic response (PVR), virologic breakthrough (VBT), and safety.?Results:?The median duration of TDF therapy was 22.0 (range, 6-40) months. Two hundreds sixty-five (58.1%) patients were HBeAg positive. The mean pre-treatment HBV DNA level was 6.34±1.41 log10 IU/mL. Among the 380 patients with elevated ALT levels at baseline, 343 patients (90.3%) had ALT normalization. VR was achieved in 379 patients (83.1%) during treatment. The cumulative rates of VR at 6, 12, 24 and 36 months were 53.4%, 73.2%, 90.6%, and 95.5%, respectively. PVR was evident in 208 (45.6%) patients. VBT was observed in 25 patients (5.5%). Multivariate logistic regression analysis using selected baseline factors identified absolute HBV-DNA levels at baseline (p<0.001; OR, 0.512; 95% CI, 0.397-0.661) and HBeAg positivity (p<0.001; OR, 0.781; 95% CI, 0.717-0.852) as factors showing significant association with VR. Among 265 HBeAg-positive patients, 43 (9.4%) achieved HBeAg seroconversion. Most adverse events were mild in severity.?Conclusions:?TDF is effective and well tolerated in Korean CHB patients in real life practice, consistent with larger registration trials. The lower HBV DNA levels at baseline and HBeAg-negative CHB patients were significantly associated with VR.

The objective of the present experiment was to investigate the effects of dietary vitamin C (VC), vitamin E (VE), and betaine (BT) supplementations on productive performance, egg quality, relative organ weights, liver visual characteristics, antioxidant status, immune response, and stress indicator in laying hens raised under heat stress conditions. A total of 280 47-wk-old Hy-Line Brown laying hens were allotted to 1 of 4 dietary treatments with 7 replicates in a completely randomized design. Each replicate had 10 birds per cage. The basal diet was formulated to meet or exceed the requirement estimates for Hy-Line Brown laying hens. Three additional diets were prepared by adding 250 mg/kg VC, 250 mg/kg VE, or 3,000 mg/kg BT to the basal diet. The experimental diets and water were provided to hens on an ad libitum basis for 8 wk. Average daily room temperature and relative humidity were 30.7±1.41℃ and 72.5±11.61%, respectively. Results indicated that hens fed diets containing 250 mg/kg VE had a less (p<0.05) egg production rate than other dietary treatments. For egg quality, hens fed diets containing 3,000 mg/kg BT had a less (p<0.05) eggshell thickness than those fed the diets containing 250 mg/kg VC or 250 mg/kg VE. For antioxidant status, there was a tendency (p=0.09) for the least malondialdehyde (MDA) concentrations in the liver for BT treatment. A tendency (p=0.05) was observed for less blood heterophil:lymphocyte ratio in BT treatment as compared to other treatments. In conclusion, dietary supplementation of 250 mg/kg VC, 250 mg/kg VE, and 3,000 mg/kg BT has no beneficial effects on productive performance, egg quality, relative organ weights, liver visual characteristics, and immune responses of laying hens raised under the current heat stress conditions. However, dietary supplementation of 3,000 mg/kg BT alleviates antioxidant status and stress response of laying hens exposed to heat stress.
Design of a Novel Polishing Tool Mechanism with 3-axis Compliance

In this paper, a novel polishing tool mechanism with 3-axis compliance is presented, which consists of 2-axis rotational and 1-axis linear compliances in series. The 2-axis rotational compliance mechanism is made up of four cantilever beams for adjusting rotational stiffness and one flexure universal joint at the center for constraining the z-axis deflection. The 2-axis rotational compliance can mechanically adjust the polishing tool to machined surfaces. The polishing press force can be simply controlled by using a linear spring along the z-axis. The 2-axis rotational and 1-axis linear compliance design is decoupled. The stiffness analysis of the 2-axis compliance mechanism was performed based on link compliance matrix and rigid body transformation. A 3-axis polishing tool was designed by configuring the 2-axis compliance mechanism and one linear spring.
Normally-Off MOS-HFET on AlGaN/GaN-on-Si(110) Grown by NH<sub>3</sub> MBE

<P>Due to the difficulty of GaN epitaxy growth on Si(001) substrate, GaN-on-Si wafers are generally grown on Si(111) substrates. Because of the poor electrical characteristics of Si(111) orientation, monolithic integration between CMOS ICs and GaN devices cannot be implemented on GaN-on-Si(111) wafers. At this point of view, Si(110) substrate will be an alternative choice for GaN-on-Si epitaxy growth, because it has good atomic arrangement with AlN seed layer and an advantage of excellent hole mobility characteristics over Si(001). We have developed high quality GaN epitaxy growth technique on Si(110) substrate using NH3 MBE and demonstrated normally-off AlGaN/GaN-on-Si(110) metal-oxide-semiconductor-heterojunction field-effect transistors with an OFF-state breakdown voltage of 610 V. The fabricated device exhibited promising characteristics comparable with those achieved on conventional GaN-on-Si(111) wafers.</P>
