Gallium Oxide (Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>) is preferred as a material for next generation power semiconductors. The Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> should solve the disadvantages of low thermal resistance characteristics and difficulty in forming an inversion layer through p-type ion implantation. However, Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> is difficult to inject p-type ions, so it is being studied in a heterojunction structure using p-type oxides, such as NiO, SnO, and Cu<sub>2</sub>O. Research the lateral-type FET structure of NiO/Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> heterojunction under the Gate contact using the Sentaurus TCAD simulation. At this time, the VG-ID and VD-ID curves were identified by the thickness of the Epi-region (channel) and the doping concentration of NiO of 1 × 10<sup>17</sup> to 1 × 10<sup>19</sup> cm<sup>-3</sup>. The increase in Epi region thickness has a lower threshold voltage from -4.4 V to -9.3 V at I<sub>D</sub> = 1 × 10<sup>-8</sup> mA/mm, as current does not flow only when the depletion of the PN junction extends to the Epi/Sub interface. As an increase of NiO doping concentration, increases the depletion area in Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> region and a high electric field distribution on PN junction, and thus the breakdown voltage increases from 512 V to 636 V at I<sub>D</sub> =1 × 10<sup>-3</sup> A/mm.

<P>1-{3,4-Di-(2-hydroxyethoxy)phenyl}-2-(2-thiophenyl)ethene (5) was prepared and condensed with terephthaloyl chloride to yield polyester (6). Polymer 6 was reacted with tetracyanoethylene to give a new Y-type polyester (7) containing 1-(3,4-dioxyethoxy)phenyl-2-{5-(2,2,3-tricyanovinyl)-2-thiophenyl)}ethenyl groups as NLO-chromophores, which are components of the polymer backbones. Polyester 7 is soluble in common organic solvents such as N,N-dimethylformamide and acetone. Polymer 7 showed a thermal stability up to 300 °C in thermogravimetric analysis with glass transition temperature (T<SUB>g</SUB>) obtained from differential scanning calorimetry near 126 °C. The second harmonic generation (SHG) coefficient (d<SUB>33</SUB>) of poled polymer film at the 1560 nm fundamental wavelength was around 6.57 × 10<SUP>−9</SUP> esu. The dipole alignment exhibited high thermal stability up to the T<SUB>g</SUB>, and there was no SHG decay below 125 °C due to the partial main-chain character of polymer structure, which is acceptable for NLO device applications. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Background Spread through air spaces (STAS) is a recently determined pathologic phenomenon of lung cancers with significant impact on prognosis. However, the possible influence of mechanical forces caused by diagnostic interventions on the occurrence of STAS has not yet been explored. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association of diagnostic lung biopsy on the risk of STAS, and its prognostic impact in resected stage I NSCLC. Methods We performed a retrospective review of 2,238 patients who underwent surgery for stage I NSCLC, from January 2011 to December 2019 in Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. The risk factors for STAS was assessed by logistic regression. In addition, the association between previous diagnostic lung biopsy and incidence of recurrence, lung cancer-related mortality were assessed stratified by STAS positivity with Multivariate Cox’s regression analyses and the Kaplan-Meier method. Results Of the 2,238 patients analyzed, 677(30.2%) patients had positive STAS. Lung cancer with STAS tended to be solid tumors with greater tumor size and T stage. In the univariate logistic regression analysis for the risk of STAS, previous percutaneous needle biopsy (OR=1.81, P<0.001), bronchoscopic biopsy (OR=1.42, P<0.030), bronchoscopic washing and BAL(OR=1.41, P<0.005) were all significantly associated with the risk for STAS. However, in the multivariate analysis, only solid type(OR=2.54,P<0.001) and tumor size (OR=1.76, P<0.001) remained significant for STAS positivity. Multivariate Cox proportional hazards models showed that after adjustments for previous diagnostic procedures, STAS was a significant risk factor for cancer recurrence(OR=1.62, P=0.005). In addition, for STAS positive patients, sublobar resection remained a significant risk factor for recurrence(OR=2.93, P<0.001) and lung cancer related mortality(OR= 9.58, P<0.001) after adjustments for previous diagnostic procedures. Conclusions Previous lung biopsy and intervention in stage I NSCLC are not associated with the development of STAS, and do not affect the prognosis of NSCLC related to STAS.
Study on the Assessment of PAHs Content and Risk Exposure of Convergence Herbal Pills

본 연구는 서울에서 유통되는 식품용 융합 환제에 대하여 위해물질인 벤조피렌 등의 PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) 오염실태를 조사하고 위해도를 평가하였다. 2010~2013년 서울약령시 한약재 판매업소 등에서 31종 93건의 환제를 수집한 후 시료를 추출, 여과, 농축하여 SPE (Sep-pak florisil)로 유출시킨 후 다시 농축하여 액체크로마토그래프로 분석하였다. 분석한 결과 총 8종 PAHs 평균 함량은 10 ㎍/㎏ 이하이었고, PAHs 위해성 평가 결과 초과발암위해도는 일상 생활에서의 노출에 의한 것보다 낮았고, 노출안전역(MOEs)은 대부분의 시료가 위해를 무시할 만한 수준으로 안전한 것으 로 평가되었다. 향후 의약용 환제와 식품용 환제의 위해물질에 대한 비교 융합연구가 필요하다. This study investigated the pollution status of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) such as benzopyran, which is a harmful substance, in convergence herbal pills distributed in Seoul. During 2010 ~ 2013, 31 items and 93 samples were collected from the herbal medicines vendors in Seoul, and the samples were extracted, filtered, concentrated, and then spun out with SPE (Sep-pak florisil) and concentrated again and analyzed by liquid chromatography. The results of the analysis showed that the average contents of PAHs were below 10 ㎍ / ㎏, and the PAHs were lower than those of daily life exposure, and MOEs was evaluated as safe to a negligible level. In the future, comparative fusion studies on the harmful substances of medicinal pills and food pills are needed.

<P> A novel polyester (4) containing dioxybenzylidenecyanoacetate group as a NLO-chromophore was prepared and characterized. Polyester 4 was soluble in common organic solvents such as acetone and DMSO. Polymer 4 showed thermal stability up to 280°C in TGA thermogram with Tg value measured from DSC thermogram near 108°C. The SHG coefficient (d33) of poled polymer film at the 1064 nm fundamental wavelength was around 3.54 × 10-9 esu. The dipole alignment exhibited a thermal stability up to near Tg and no significant SHG decay was observed below 95°C due to the partial main-chain character of polymer structure, which was acceptable for NLO device applications.</P>
