THE BRUCK CONJECTURE AND ENTIRE FUNCTIONS SHARING POLYNOMIALS WITH THEIR k-TH DERIVATIVES
Feng Lu,Hongxun Yi 대한수학회 2011 대한수학회지 Vol.48 No.3
The purpose of this paper is twofold. The rst is to establish a uniqueness theorem for entire function sharing two polynomials with its k-th derivative, by using the theory of normal families. Meanwhile, the theorem generalizes some related results of Rubel and Yang and of Li and Yi. Several examples are provided to show the conditions are necessary. The second is to generalize the Bruck conjecture with the idea of sharing polynomial.

The purpose of this paper is twofold. The first is to establish a uniqueness theorem for entire function sharing two polynomials with its ${\kappa}$-th derivative, by using the theory of normal families. Meanwhile, the theorem generalizes some related results of Rubel and Yang and of Li and Yi. Several examples are provided to show the conditions are necessary. The second is to generalize the Br$\"{u}$-ck conjecture with the idea of sharing polynomial.
Wind-induced vibration fragility of outer-attached tower crane to super-tall buildings: A case study
Yi Lu,Luo Zhang,Zheng He,Fan Feng,Feng Pan 한국풍공학회 2021 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.32 No.5
To gain insight into the wind-induced safety concerns associated with attached tower cranes during the construction of super-tall buildings, a 606 m level frame-core tube super-tall building is selected to investigate the wind-induced vibration response and fragility of an outer-attached tower crane at all stages of construction. The wind velocity time history samples are artificially generated and used to perform dynamic response analyses of the crane to observe the effects of wind velocity and wind direction under its working and non-working resting state. The adverse effects of the relative displacement response at different connection supports are also identified. The wind-resistant fragility curves of the crane are obtained by introducing the concept of incremental dynamic analysis. The results from the investigation indicate that a large relative displacement between the supports can substantially amplify the response of the crane at high levels. Such an effect becomes more serious when the lifting arm is perpendicular to the plane of the connection supports. The flexibility of super-tall buildings should be considered in the design of outer-attached tower cranes, especially for anchorage systems. Fragility analysis can be used to specify the maximum appropriate height of the tower crane for each performance level.
Synthesis of mesoporous SiO2 xerogel/chitosan mixed-matrix membranes for butanol dehydration
Yi-Feng Lin,Chang-Yu Wu,Ting-Yu Liu,Kun-Yi Andrew Lin,Kuo-Lun Tung,Tsair-Wang Chung 한국공업화학회 2018 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.57 No.-
Novel mesoporous SiO2 xerogel/chitosan (CS) mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs) were successfully prepared by incorporating sol–gel synthesized SiO2 xerogels into glutaraldehyde (GA) cross-linked CS membranes. The effects of the SiO2 doping amount and the feed temperature on the performance of the separation of butanol and water was also investigated in this study. The 0.25 wt% SiO2 xerogel/CS MMMs possessed the best pervaporation performance and the largest PSI value of 1102 kg/m2h with a permeate flux of 736 g/m2h (Permeability of 3.25 × 10−5 g m m−2 h −1 Pa−1) and a separation factor of 1498 at a feed temperature of 50 °C. This PSI value is not only comparable but also exceeds that of other membranes reported in the literature. The separation factor and the flux of the SiO2 xerogel/CS MMMs in this study clearly exceed the upper limit of the previously reported MMMs. As a result, the as-prepared novel SiO2 xerogel/CS MMMs showed an improved performance during the butanol and water separation process, which raises the possibility of future pervaporation applications using this novel SiO2 xerogel/CS MMMs.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the sixth most diagnosed cancer worldwide. Healthcare resource constraints may predispose treatment delays. We aim to review existing literature on whether delayed treatment results in worse outcomes in HCC. PubMed, Embase, The Cochrane Library, and Scopus were systematically searched from inception till December 2022. Primary outcomes were overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS). Secondary outcomes included post-treatment mortality, readmission rates, and complications. Fourteen studies with a total of 135,389 patients (delayed n = 25,516, no delay n = 109,873) were included. Age, incidence of male patients, Child–Pugh B cirrhosis, and Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer Stage 0/A HCC were comparable between delayed and no delay groups. Tumor size was significantly smaller in delayed versus no delay group (mean difference, –0.70 cm; 95% confidence interval [CI]: –1.14, 0.26; p = 0.002). More patients received radiofrequency ablation in delayed versus no delay group (OR, 1.22; 95% CI: 1.16, 1.27; p < 0.0001). OS was comparable between delayed and no delay in HCC treatment (hazard ratio [HR], 1.13; 95% CI: 0.99, 1.29; p = 0.07). Comparable DFS between delayed and no delay groups (HR, 0.99; 95% CI: 0.75, 1.30; p = 0.95) was observed. Subgroup analysis of studies that defined treatment delay as > 90 days showed comparable OS in the delayed group (HR, 1.04; 95% CI: 0.93, 1.16; p = 0.51). OS and DFS for delayed treatment were non-inferior compared to no delay, but might be due to better tumor biology/smaller tumor size in the delayed group.
An integrated dendrite-free zinc metal electrode for corrosion inhibition in aqueous system
Yi-Fan Hu,Li-Feng Zhou,He Gong,He Jia,Peng Chen,Yi-Song Wang,Li-Ying Liu,Tao Du 한국화학공학회 2022 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.39 No.9
Zinc ion batteries have gotten increasing attention as a potential candidate for lithium-ion batteries, due totheir high specific capacity (820 mAh·g1), energy density, and safety. Inevitably, dendrite and corrosion create sometrouble for this system. Herein, an integrated Zn electrode coated by Zn-Al metal oxides prepared by a simple spincoatingmethod was utilized to increase the rechargeability for aqueous zinc ion batteries. By coating the Zn anodewith an artificial electrolyte interface, the wettability of Zn anodes was improved and impedance was reduced. Thecoating suppressed not only the appearance of dendrite but also the formation of corrosion products. The symmetricalcells with coating have a low overpotential (43mV) and an excellent life span. Meanwhile, the applied full batteriesexhibit an improved capacity retention rate (86.67% after 120 cycles), great rate performance and low apparent activationenergy (24.6 KJ·mol1). The simple production methods and superior corrosion suppression effects provide newideas for the anode protection of aqueous system batteries.
