      • Design and Implementation of Campus Information System with Android and Web Dual-mode Based on MVC Pattern

        Mobile application for campus is an integral part of the construction of wisdom campus. CampusService - a campus information service system is designed, and is comprised of three parts, Android client, Web client and server, which are all designed according to MVC pattern. C/S architecture is adopted between the Android client and the server, B/S architecture is adopted between the Web client and the server, and JSON is used as a unified data interface for accomplishing the interactions. The architectures of three parts are described, and key technologies are represented, including database access optimization, Android display, transaction management and authentication, among which database access optimization technology has two respects: using C3P0 to maintain connection pool and prefetching data based on their popularity. According to testing, the system implements functions of user management, intramural announcements, interaction with friends, activity participation, and campus maps, and it has good performance. The system provides an efficient platform for real-time communication among teachers, students and school authority.

        Alloy and Core-Shell Nanoclusters Formed by Sequential Ion Implantation and Thermal Annealing

        Ag-Cu alloy nanoclusters have been formed by sequential ion implantation. As the as-implanted sample is annealed in a reducing atmosphere, the optical absorption spectrum displays a new shoul- der peak. Transmission electron microscopy bright-¯eld image, selected area electron diraction pattern and high-angle annular dark ¯eld scanning transmission electron microscopy image analy-ses show that core-shell nanoclusters have been fabricated. The evolution of core-shell nanoclusters at elevated temperature was also studied.

        Genetic Diversity and Geographical Differentiation of Desmodium triflorum (L.) DC. in South China Revealed by AFLP Markers

        High levels of genetic variation enable species to adapt to changing environments and provide plant breeders with the raw materials necessary for artificial selection. In the present study, six AFLP primer pairs were used to assess the genetic diversity of Desmodium triflorum (L.)DC. from 12 populations in South China. A high percentage of polymorphic loci (P=76.16%) and high total gene diversity (HT=0.310) were found, indicating that the genetic diversity of D. triflorum is high at the species level. Genetic diversity was also relatively high at the population level (P=55.85%, He=0.230). The coefficient of gene differentiation among populations (GST) was 0.255, indicating that while most genetic diversity resided within populations, there was also considerable differentiation among populations. AMOVA also indicated 24.29% of the total variation to be partitioned among populations (ΦST=0.243). UPGMA clustering analysis based on genetic distances showed that the 12 populations could be separated into three subgroups: an eastern, a western, and a central-southern subgroup. However, a Mantel test revealed no significant correlation (r=0.286, p=0.983)between the geographical distances and genetic distances separating these populations; mountain barriers to gene flow and human disturbance may have confounded these correlations. The present study has provided some fundamental genetic data that will be of use in the exploitation of D. triflorum.

        중국 언론의 객관보도 사상: 형성과 변천

        중국 언론의 객관보도 사상의 발생원인과 배경을 역사적인 시각으로 초기 형성과정부터 문헌고찰을 통해 탐구하였다. 중국은 1840년 아편전쟁의 실패로 강대국과의 불평등조약으로 문호를 열게 되었는데 그 당시 중국에서 발행되던 외국 간행물에서 객관보도 사상이 태동하게 되었다. 그 이후 중국 공산당 집권 이전(1949)까지 개량학파(改良學派), 입헌유신학파(立憲維新學派), 혁명파(革命派), 자산계급학파(資産階級學派), 초기 무산계급학파(無産階級學派) 등 여러 학파들이 중국의 객관보도 사상에 관해 논의했고 자신들의 견해나 주장을 제기하였다. 이들은 중국 객관보도 사상의 발전에 기여하였고 특히 1978년 개혁개방 이후 중국에서 객관보도 사상이 부활하는데 초석이 되었다. 1949년 중국 공산당 집권 이후 50년대 대약진운동기간과 60~70년대 문화대혁명 기간 동안 중국 언론의 객관보도 사상은 암흑기를 겪다가 1978년 개혁개방 시기를 통해 부활기에 접어들어 현재까지 꾸준히 발전해 오고 있다. This historical research examines the causes and background of the advent of journalistic objectivity in China through the literature review. China reluctantly opened its gate to the outside world after the country was defeated in Opium Wars by the powers of the world in 1840. There were lots of periodicals published in China by foreigners, and the idea of journalistic objectivity was germinated from those foreign publications in China. Since then, the scholars and thinkers from different schools brought forward their ideas about journalistic objectivity until the Chinese Communist Party ruled the entire nation in 1949. Those schools were the Social Reform School, the Constitutional Restoration School, the Revolution School, the Propertied Class School, and the Early Unpropertied Class School. They made great contributions to the development of the idea of journalistic objectivity in China, and especially laid the foundation for the restoration of the idea when the country began to adopt the Reform and Open-door Policy in 1978. Since the Communist Party reigned over the country in 1949, journalistic objectivity in China has been in the dark age during the Great Leap Forward Movement in 1950s, and the Cultural Revolution in 1960s and 1970s. But the idea of journalistic objectivity in China was revived as the country implemented the Reform and Open-door Policy in 1978, and the idea is still under development.

        CK2 phosphorylates AP-2α and increases its transcriptional activity

        Transcription factor AP-2α involves in the process of mammalian embryonic development and tumorigenesis. Many studies have shown that AP-2α functions in association with other interacting proteins. In a two-hybrid screening, the regulatory subunit β of protein casein kinase 2 (CK2β) was identified as an interacting protein of AP-2α; we confirmed this interaction using in-vitro GST pull-down and in-vivo co-immunoprecipitation assays; in an endogenous co-immunoprecipitation experiment, we further found the catalytic subunit α of protein casein kinase 2 (CK2α) also exists in the complex. Phosphorylation analysis revealed that AP-2α was phosphorylated by CK2 kinase majorly at the site of Ser429, and such phosphorylation could be blocked by CK2 specific inhibitor 4,5,6,7-tetrabromobenzotriazole (TBB) in a dose-dependent manner. Luciferase assays demonstrated that both CK2α and CK2β enhanced the transcription activity of AP-2α; moreover, CK2β increased the stability of AP-2α. Our data suggest a novel cellular function of CK-2 as a transcriptional co-activator of AP-2α.

        Decoding Tropospheric Ozone in Hangzhou, China: from Precursors to Sources

        For the purpose of providing a tropospheric O3 control strategy for Hangzhou, China, we investigate the influential factors of it using observed data and the WRF-CMAQ model. The result indicates that temperature and relative humidity are the dominant factors and Hangzhou belongs to VOC-limited regime. Long-range/regional transport accounts for 15.4% and 17.4% of O3 in autumn and winter, respectively, showing a north-to-south transport pattern while 14.5% and 19.7% of O3 in spring and summer, respectively, showing a southwest-to-northeast transport pattern. Annual contribution of local industry to local O3 was 59.2%, followed by residence, traffic and agriculture. Ethylene, m/p-xylene, toluene and propylene are the main O3 producers. Therefore, controlling VOCs species that possess the highest ozone formation potentials, afforestation, implementing artificial precipitation and shutdown local industry are the most effective ways to mitigate ozone pollution in Hangzhou.

      • Mechanical behavior of crumb rubber concrete under axial compression

        This paper aims at investigating the effect of crumb rubber size and content on compressive behaviors of concrete under axial compression. Concrete specimens are designed and produced by replacing natural aggregate with crumb rubber content of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and three different sized crumb rubbers (No. 20, No. 40, No. 80 crumb rubber). And the failure mode, compressive strength, elastic modulus, stress-strain curves, peak strain and ultimate strain are experimentally studied. Based on the test results, formulas have been presented to determine the compressive strength, elastic modulus, the relationship between prism compressive strength and cube compressive strength, stress-strain curves and peak strain of crumb rubber concrete (CRC). It is found that the proposed formulas agree well with the test result on the whole, which may be used to practical applications.
