        Stock Return Predictability and Global Stock Market Integration

        본 고에서는 재무변수와 경제변수에 의한 한국과 영국, 미국의 전체 주식시장 수익률 예측력을 조사하고 이들 국가들의 자본시장 동조화 현상에 대하여 연구하였다. 단기 금리는 전체 주식시장 수익률을 예측하는 데 중요한 역할을 한다. 배당수익률은 미국과 영국의 주식시장 수익률과 어느 정도 예측력을 가진다. 이익수익률은 세 시장 모두에서 거의 설명력이 없다. 그렇지만 단기 금리만으로는 세 국가 모두에서 주식 수익률을 예측하기 어렵다. 단기 금리와 배당수익률을 동시에 고려할 때 예측력이 가장 높아진다. 그러나 이들 회귀식의 설명력들은 설명력이 매우 낮아서 효율적 시장가설을 기각하는 증거로 받아들이기 어렵다. 한편 미국 관련 변수들은 한국과 영국의 주식수익률예측에 도움이 된다. 영국 관련 변수 역시 미국 시장수익률 예측에 도움이 된다. 이들 시장은 단기적으로 통합되어있지 않으며 특히 한국 시장은 영국과 미국시장과 단기적으로 독립적이다. 그렇지만 전반적으로 이들 3개국 사이에는 오차수정에 의한 장기 균형 관계가 존재하며 기대수익률에 공통된 움직임이 있다는 증거가 있어서 장기적으로 동조화되어 있음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 관계는 표본기간의 후반기인 2000년대에 더욱 두드러지게 나타나서 시장의 균형을 향상 조정속도가 빨라지고 있다

      • XML / JAVA를 이용한 상품 카달로그 시스템 구현

        A catalog system is defined as an electronic commerce entity that provides a common web-based storefront to a group of merchants. Customers access the "catalog system" web site to browse catalogs of merchant companies that deliver goods and services. This enables customers to search for goods, compare prices at a central location instead of visiting multiple dislocated web sites. The catalog system model is attractive to small business for which the benefits of maintaining an individual web site may never justify the overhead. The catalog system maintains a database containing catalog information for each merchant. A existing catalog system don's have a standard catalog system. This paper presents an implementation model, that uses Extensible Markup Language(XML) and JAVA to overcome the standard problem. We propose goods catalog system with XML, and JAVA.

        The New Village (Sae-ma-eul) movement is Korean version of Community Development that has under-gone widespread exploration, experimentation and application in developing countries throughout the world in recent years. In most countries the national governments have undertaken the iniative in Community Development through appropriate ministries or special agencies. The New Village Movement was initiated in 1970 by Korean government. But it became a people's movement for self-development as more and more people participated in the developmental programs. The major objectives of the New Village movement are to redress the economic disparities between the rural and urban areas by improving the economic, social and cultural conditions of rural Communities, to reform the way of life in rural villages by encouraging the attitude of self-help, and to increase the income of the farmers and fisher man. Since 1971, An enormous amount of public and priate money has been invested into the New Village Movement. It seems that the time has arrived when some framework for evaluating the whole program is to be developed. Thus, The objective of this study is to develop an appropriate to evaluate the new village project at the village level.         일개 결핵병원에서 다제내성결핵과 광범위내성결핵의 추이, 2001~2005

        연구배경: 다제내성결핵과 광범위내성결핵은 전세계적으로 결핵 치료에 큰 위협으로 등장하고 있지만 이에 대한 국내의 정확한 실태 및 추이는 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 일개 결핵병원에서 다제내성결핵과 광범위내성결핵의 빈도 및 추이를 살펴봄으로써 국내 실태를 간접적으로 파악하고자 하였다. 방법: 2001년부터 2005년 사이에 국립마산병원에 입원하여 배양양성 결핵으로 진단된 환자를 대상으로 약제 감수성검사 결과와 의무기록을 후향적으로 분석하였다. 결과: 2001년부터 2005년 사이에, 다제내성결핵은 신환자에서 9.2%, 13.8%, 16.9%, 23%, 27.0%로 의미있게 증가하였고(p<0.001 for trend) 재치료환자에서 9.1%, 15.7%, 17.3%, 19.9%, 19.1%로 의미있게 증가하였다 (p=0.002 for trend). 광범위내성결핵은 신환자에서 0%, 2.3%, 3.1%, 2.5%, 6.3%로 의미있게 증가하였고(p=0.005 for trend) 재치료환자에서 9.1%, 15.7%, 17.3%, 19.9%, 19.1%로 의미있게 증가하였다(p<0.001 for trend). 결론: 다제내성결핵과 광범위내성결핵은 신환자와 재치료환자 모두에서 증가하는 추이를 보였다. 국내의 정확한 실태 파악을 위하여 공공 및 민간의료기관을 포괄하는 통합적인 약제내성실태 조사가 필요할 것으로 사료된다. Background: Multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and extensively drug resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) are serious threats to worldwide tuberculosis control, but the national burden and the trends of infectious spread are largely unknown. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the results of drug sensitivity tests and medical records of patients that were diagnosed with culture-confirmed pulmonary tuberculosis and were admitted to the National Masan Tuberculosis Hospital between 2001 and 2005. Results: From 2001 to 2005, the proportion of MDR-TB among new cases was 9.2%, 13.8%, 16.9%, 23% and 27.0% in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, respectively, and the proportion of MDR-TB among previously treated cases was 58.5%, 60.2%, 62.7%, 61.7% and 71.3% in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, respectively. A significant increasing trend could be discerned for MDR-TB among both new and previously treated cases (p<0.001, p=0.002 for trend, respectively). The proportion of XDR-TB among new cases was 0%, 2.3%, 3.1%, 2.5% and 6.3% in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, respectively, and the proportion of XDR-TB among previously treated cases was 9.1%, 15.7%, 17.3%, 19.9% and 19.1% in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, respectively. A significant increasing trend could be discerned for XDR-TB among both new and previously treated cases (p=0.005, p<0.001 for trend, respectively). Conclusion: Both MDR-B and XDR-TB were gradually increased among both new and previously treated cases. Integrated national surveillance, including the public and private sectors, will be needed to estimate the exact status of antituberculous drug resistance. (Tuberc Respir Dis 2008;64:187-193)

        경골 근위부 골절에 대한 Blade Plate 내고정술

        Purpose: This study demonstrates the effectiveness of the blade plate as an implant for the operative management of proximal tibial fractures. Materials and Methods: Twelve proximal tibial fractures (AO classification, 10 type A and 2 type C) were treated by direct or indirect reduction and condylar blade plate fixation. The condylar blade plate was fixed on the anteromedial surface of the proximal tibia and cancellous bone graft was performed in 4 fractures with severe cortical comminution or bone defect in early cases. At the final follow-up assessment, the patients were evaluated as to subjective symptoms, objective findings, and radiographic findings. Results: All fractures were healed in an average of 13.2 weeks (range, 9.0 to 25.0 weeks). There were 3 major complications of a delayed union, a 6-degree varus malunion, and a reduced range of motion of the knee related with associated multiple fractures of the ipsilateral lower limb, but there were no soft tissue problems, loss of fixation, infection, nonunion, and traumatic arthritis. A few patients complained a prominence of the plate on the anteromedial side of the proximal tibia. Conclusion: Blade plate fixation is a reliable method of stable fixation to obtain good results for proximal tibial fractures by early rehabilitation and good fracture healing, particularly in patients with osteoporosis and cortical comminution.

        Development of an Improved Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification Assay for On-Site Diagnosis of Fire Blight in Apple and Pear

        Fast and accurate diagnosis is needed to eradicate and manage economically important and invasive diseases like fire blight. Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) is known as the best on-site diagnostic, because it is fast, highly specific to a target, and less sensitive to inhibitors in samples. In this study, LAMP assay that gives more consistent results for on-site diagnosis of fire blight than the previous developed LAMP assays was developed. Primers for new LAMP assay (named as DS-LAMP) were designed from a histidine-tRNA ligase gene (EAMY_RS32025) of E. amylovora CFBP1430 genome. The DS-LAMP amplified DNA (positive detection) only from genomic DNA of E. amylovora strains, not from either E. pyrifoliae (causing black shoot blight) or from Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae (causing shoot blight on apple trees). The detection limit of DS-LAMP was 10 cells per LAMP reaction, equivalent to $10^4$ cells per ml of the sample extract. DS-LAMP successfully diagnosed the pathogens on four fire-blight infected apple and pear orchards. In addition, it could distinguish black shoot blight from fire blight. The $B{\ddot{u}}hlmann$-LAMP, developed previously for on-site diagnosis of fire blight, did not give consistent results for specificity to E. amylovora and on-site diagnosis; it gave positive reactions to three strains of E. pyrifoliae and two strains of P. syringae pv. syringae. It also, gave positive reactions to some healthy sample extracts. DS-LAMP, developed in this study, would give more accurate on-site diagnosis of fire blight, especially in the Republic of Korea, where fire blight and black shoot blight coexist.

        GTVseq: A Web-based Genotyping Tool for Viral Sequences

        Genotyping Tool for Viral SEQuences (GTVseq) provides scientists with the genotype information on the viral genome sequences including HIV-1, HIV-2, HBV, HCV, HTLV-1, HTLV-2, poliovirus, enterovirus, flavivirus, Hantavirus, and rotavirus. GTVseq produces alternative and additive genotype information for the query viral sequences based on two different, but related, scoring methods. The genotype information produced is reported in a graphical manner for the reference genotype matches and each graphical output is linked to the detailed sequence alignments between the query and the matched reference sequences. GTVseq also reports the potential 'repeats' and/or 'recombination' sequence region in a separated window. GTVseq does not replace completely other well-known genotyping tools such as NCBI's virus sequence genotyping tool (http://www.ncbi. nlm.nih.gov/projects/genotyping/formpage.cgi), but provides additional information useful in the confirmation or for further investigation of the genotype(s) for the newly isolated viral sequences.
