      • RAW264.7 세포에서 interferon-r 및 LPS에 의해 유도되는 NO생성에 미치는 TALT-35의 영향

        TALP-35 purified from human term placenta is known to increase microtubule polymerization and stabilize the polymerized microtubule. To examine the effect of TALP-35 on immune system this study was performed. MTT assay was performed to investigate the effect of TALP-35 on the proliferation of RAW264.7 cells. TALP-35 dose dependently suppress the proliferation of RAW264.7 cells at high concentration (above 1 μM) in unstimulated cells, in case of 10 μM TALP-35 treated cells the suppression was 25% but in stimulated cells it was only 15%. Cosedimentation assay was carried out to investigate whether TALP-35 can bind to tubulin of RAW264.7, monocyte/macrophage lineage of mouse, and polymerize it. TALP-35 polymerize the tubulin of RAW264.7 cells and sedimented in dose-dependent manner. To investigate the effect of TALP-35 on the expression of iNOS protein western blotting was performed. The expression level of iNOS was decreased dose dependently in high concentration of TALP-35 treatment. To examine the activity of iNOS, secreted NO was determined by method based on Griess reaction. Interferon-γ and LPS-stimulated production of NO from RAW264.7 cells was decreased dose dependently above 0.1 μM concentration of TALP-35 and 50% is decreased at 10μM of it. This study shows TALP-35 can control cytokine induced-iNOS expression therefore it might control inflammatory diseases.

        높은 칼슘 점수를 가진 환자에서 관상동맥 CT 조영술을 이용한 협착 평가의 한계와 전망

        관상동맥 CT 조영술은 높은 정확도로 유의한 관상동맥 협착을 발견할 수 있어 관상동맥 질환이 의심되는 환자들에서 침습적 관상동맥 조영술의 문지기로서의 역할을 인정받고 있다. 그러나 관상동맥에 과도한 석회화 경화반이 있으면 내강을 시각화하기 어려워 영상의 해석에 오류를 초래할 수 있다. 이는 주로 CT 스캐너의 제한적인 공간 해상도로 인해 석회화 경화반에 의한 번짐허상이 발생하기 때문이다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 높은 칼슘 점수를 보이는 CT 영상에서 관상동맥 협착을 평가해야 하는 상황을 종종 마주한다. 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위한 기술적인 방법으로 고해상도 CT 스캐너의 도입, 새로운 재구성 기법 및 후처리 기술의 개발, 감산기법 등이 있으며, 판독에 도움이 되는 방법으로 적절한 창너비 및 창높이의 설정, 혈관의 단면 영상에서 석회화 경화반의 범위 및 내강의 잔류 가시성 평가 등이 권고된다. Coronary CT angiography (CCTA) is recognized for its role as a gatekeeper for invasive coronary angiography in patients suspected of coronary artery disease because it can detect significant coronary stenosis with high accuracy. However, heavy plaque in the coronary artery makes it difficult to visualize the lumen, which can lead to errors in the interpretation of the CCTA results. This is primarily due to the limited spatial resolution of CT scanners, resulting in blooming artifacts caused by calcium. However, coronary stenosis with high calcium scores often requires evaluation using CCTA. Technological methods to overcome these limitations include the introduction of high-resolution CT scanners, the development of reconstruction techniques, and the subtraction technique. Methods to improve reading ability, such as the setting of appropriate window width and height, and evaluation of the position of calcified plaque and residual visibility of the lumen in cross-sectional images, are also recommended.

      • Clinical Application of Multidetector Row Computed Tomography in Patient With Breast Cancer

        Although multidetector row computed tomography is not the primary method of evaluating breast cancer, it could be performed as an excellent alternative, especially in the presence of magnetic resonance contraindications. Moreover, computed tomography can still have an important role in evaluation of nodal status, thoracic invasion, and distant metastasis because of the large area covered in a single examination. Our experience together with literature indicates that multidetector row computed tomography is a powerful supplementary method for evaluation of patients with breast cancer.

        The Relationship between Physical Activity Intensity and Mental Health Status in Patients with Breast Cancer

        <P>The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between physical activity (PA) level and mental health status in a population-based sample of Korean female patients with breast cancer. Our analysis included 76 patients with breast cancer and 44 healthy controls. The Korean versions of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), Beck Depressive Inventory (BDI), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory-KY (STAI-KY), and Somatosensory Amplification Scale (SSAS), and Quality of Life (QOL) scale were assessed. The frequency of moderate PA level in breast cancer patients was significantly lower than that of healthy control subjects (t = −2.6; <I>P</I> = 0.011). In turn, the incidence of low PA level in breast cancer patients was significantly higher than that observed in healthy controls (t = 2.85; <I>P</I> = 0.005). A moderate PA level was inversely correlated with BDI score (<I>r</I> = −0.35; <I>P</I> = 0.008) and was positively correlated with QOL score (<I>r</I> = 0.38; <I>P</I> = 0.011). A low level of PA was inversely correlated with SSAS score (<I>r</I> = −0.39; <I>P</I> < 0.001). In healthy controls, a high level of PA was positively correlated with QOL score (<I>r</I> = 0.50; <I>P</I> = 0.043). Moderate PA level was inversely correlated with SSAS score (<I>r</I> = −0.59; <I>P</I> < 0.001). A low level of PA was also positively correlated with BDI score (<I>r</I> = 0.35; <I>P</I> = 0.008). A moderate or low intensity of PA was inversely correlated with depression and somatosensory amplification and was positively correlated with QOL in breast cancer patients. Finally, we suggest that progressively low-to-moderate levels of PA can be well adapted to positively impact several measures of mental health.</P>

        유산소 운동이 소아 및 청소년의 인지기능에 미치는 영향 : 문헌고찰

        The purpose of this review was to investigate the relationship between aerobic exercise and cognitive function as well as synthesize the effect of aerobic exercise intervention studies centered on psychiatric symptoms associated with general cognitive deficit. Prospective studies on aerobic exercise and improvement of cognitive function were reviewed and synthesized. In addition, this literature review provides significant positive results on the relationship between aerobic exercise and general cognitive deficit associated with psychiatric symptoms. Review of this literature suggests that there is a positive relationship between participation in aerobic exercise and cognitive function. In this text, there are at least three general pathways by which aerobic exercise may facilitate executive function in children : 1) cognitive demands inherent in engaging in physical activity, 2) cognitive demands inherent in cooperation of complex motor tasks, and 3) physiological changes resulting from aerobic exercise. Another main finding of this review is that physical activity has a stronger influence on cognitive deficit, including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, and anxiety. Development of cognitive function is the most important factor for children and youth. Therefore, future research should prove relationship between physical activity and cognitive function using a more scientific and quantitative approach design.

      • Conjugated macro-microporous polymer films bearing tetraphenylethylenes for the enhanced sensing of nitrotoluenes

        <P>Conjugated microporous polymer films (CMP-Fs) bearing tetraphenylethylene moieties showed aggregation-induced emission behavior, which can be utilized for the emission quenching-based sensing of nitrotoluenes. In this work, macroporous CMP-Fs (MA-CMP-Fs) were engineered using assembled silica spheres as templates. The MA-CMP-Fs showed much better sensing performance toward nitrotoluenes with Stern-Volmer constants (<I>K</I>SV) of up to 1.39 × 10<SUP>5</SUP> M<SUP>−1</SUP>, compared with CMP-Fs (<I>K</I>SV up to 5.57 × 10<SUP>4</SUP> M<SUP>−1</SUP>). The sensing performance of the MA-CMP-F is superior to those of recent emissive CMP materials (<I>K</I>SV in the range of 2.08 × 10<SUP>3</SUP> to 6.78 × 10<SUP>4</SUP> M<SUP>−1</SUP> for nitroarenes) in the literature, which is attributable to the additional macroporosity of the CMP-F. Also, we demonstrated that various functional CMP films with macroporous inner structures can be developed using tailored building blocks.</P>

        <B>Graphic Abstract</B> <P>A new germanium precursor, ethylmethylaminogermane (H<SUB>3</SUB>Ge-N(CH<SUB>3</SUB>)(C<SUB>2</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>), was synthesized and characterized. The new Ge precursor has high vapor pressure and stability, which were measured by a home-made apparatus and thermogravimetric analysis, respectively. The Ge NWs, islands, films, or mixed structures on Si and Au substrates were obtained by CVD in the temperature range 300-400 °C and pressure range 67–267 Pa.</P>

        Therapeutic Approach of Wrist Ganglion Using Electroacupuncture: Two Case Reports

        A ganglion cyst is a relatively common benign tumor on the wrist. Conservative and surgical approaches have been used for its treatment. Various conservative treatment methods have been suggested such as reassurance, aspiration, sclerosant injection, and direct compression. But, there is no acceptable treatment of choice yet because each suggested method has a relatively high recurrence rate. We want to report two cases in which the size of the wrist ganglion was decreased by using electroacupuncture. One patient presented with a chronic ganglion for six years and the other patient presented with a recently occurred acute ganglion. We applied electroacupuncture for 20 minutes once a week for eight weeks to both of them. Afterwards, the size of the wrist ganglion diminished in the follow-up sonography and the accompanying pain was also relieved. Herein we report both cases along with a review of the relevant literature.

        Acute gastrointestinal dilation in laboratory rhesus monkeys in the Korea National Primate Research Center

        Acute gastrointestinal dilation is a medical condition in which the stomach and intestine become overstretched by excessive gas content. In laboratory monkeys, cases of bloating involving gastrointestinal dilation are rarely seen, and the cause thereof is not clearly defined. Two rhesus monkeys in the Korea National Primate Research Center were found to suffer from acute gastrointestinal dilation. One of the monkeys showed severe gastric bloating after recovering from general anesthesia with isoflurane, where after it died suddenly. During necropsy, severe congestion of the lung was observed. The other monkey showed gastrointestinal dilation and died after treatment. During necropsy, severe dilation of the large intestine was observed. Severe congestion was detected in small and large intestines. Histopathologically, erythrocytes were found to fill the alveoli and alveolar capillaries of the lung. In stomach, epithelial cells were found to be sloughed from the mucosal layer, and erythrocytes were found to fill the blood vessels of the submucosal and mucosal layers. In small and large intestines, epithelial cells were also found to be sloughed from the mucosal layer, and inflammatory cells were found to have infiltrated in the submucosa (only large intestine) and mucosa. Microbiologically, Enterococcus faecalis and the pathogenic Staphylococcus haemolyticus, which do not form gas in the gastrointestinal tract, were detected in the gastrointestinal contents of both monkeys. These results suggest that the cause of the acute gastrointestinal dilation in these monkeys was not infection by gas-forming bacteria, but rather multiple factors such as diet, anesthesia, and excessive water consumption.

        추상적 미술 작품의 감상에 따른 뇌파 변화 연구: 몬드리안과 칸딘스키의 작품을 중심으로

        미술 작품의 감상과 뇌파의 변화와 관련된 선행 연구에서 시각 자극으로 주로 사용된 것은 단순한 기본 색상이거나 구상 형태의 작품이며, 추상 미술 작품을 시각 자극으로 활용한 경우는 거의 없었다. 이 연구에서는 추상 미술 작품을 시각 자극으로 사용하고, 나아가 기하학적 추상 미술 작품과 서정적 추상 미술 작품으로 세분하여 뇌파나 정서에서 어떤 변화가 있는지를 분석하였다. 그리고 작품의 감상자를 미술 디자인 전공자와 비전공자로 구분하여 전문적 지식의 소유 여부에 따라 뇌파 변화에서 어떤 차이가 있는지도 분석하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, Kandinsky의 서정적 추상 그림을 감상했을 때보다는 Mondrian의 기하학적 추상 그림을 감상했을 때 O1, O2에서 RFA 평균값이 더 높게 발생하였다. 규칙적 패턴이 없는 무질서한 서정적 추상 그림을 감상할 때보다 일정한 규칙성을 발견하기 쉬운 기하학적 추상 그림을 감상할 때 자극의 수용자는 더 안정적이고 편안한 마음의 상태가 된다. 둘째, 기하학적 추상과 서정적 추상 자극이 주어질 경우에 자극의 종류와 관계없이 디자인 전공자 집단이 비전공자 집단에 비해 Fp1, F3에서 RHB 평균값이 모두 높게 나타났다. 이것은 비전공자 집단이 추상적 시각 자극을 단순하게 감각적 형태로만 인지한다면, 디자인 전공자 집단은 그것을 학습 내용이나 배경 지식 등을 동원하여 종합적으로 사고하면서 지적 형태로 인지하기 때문이다. 이러한 연구 결과는 효과 적인 교육이나 정서적 안정을 위한 환경을 조성하는 데 활용될 수 있다. 학생들의 불안한 정서를 안정 시키고 학습에 대한 관심이나 정신적 각성을 유도하기 위해서는 불규칙적인 복잡한 형태의 추상적 그림 보다는 규칙적이고 단순한 추상적 그림을 보여주는 것이 효과적일 것이다. 그리고 추상 그림과 같은 시각 자극을 활용하여 학생들을 지적인 긴장 상태로 만들어 학습에 집중할 수 있는 정서적 환경을 조성하기 위해서는 미술 작품 등에 대한 이론적 학습이나 감상 활동 등을 통해 예술적 지식을 습득하거나 예술적 소양을 쌓을 수 있는 예술 교육이 지속적으로 이루어져야 할 것이다. In the precedent studies about the relation between the appreciation of art and the change of EEG visual stimuli were the basic colors and the figurative art. We can not find the abstract art as visual stimuli in those. We studied the change of EEG by the appreciation of abstract art in this paper. We analysed the change of EEG when the examinees appreciated different abstract arts. We analysed the different changes of EEG between design majors and non-design majors when they appreciated abstract arts. The results of this study are as follows. First, the mean value of RFA in O1 and O2 was higher when the examinees appreciated the geometric abstract art of W. Kandinsky than the lyrical abstract art of P. Mondrian. The mind of examinees became more tranquil and comfortable when they appreciated the geometric abstract art composed regularly than the lyrical abstract art composed irregularly. Second, the mean value of RHB of design majors in Fp1 and F3 was higher than that of non-design majors when the examinees appreciated both the geometric abstract art and the lyrical abstract art. The non-design majors cognized abstract visual stimulus in the form of sensibility and the design majors cognized it in the form of intelligence using their background knowledge and thinking comprehensively. We may use the results of this study to make proper circumstances for efficient education or comfortable mind. If we want to make the unstable mind of students comfortable and make them pay attention to learning and awakening, it may be effective to show students the simple and regular art such as geometric abstract art than the complex and irregular art such as lyrical abstract art. If we want to lead students to intelligent tension and make emotional circumstance of paying attention to learning by making use of visual stimuli such as abstract art, the art education may be necessary to learn the knowledge of art and to build the culture of art by theoretical study and appreciation of art.
