In this paper we apply a frequency-dominant test of time reversibility, the REVERSE test based on the bispectrum, to explore the high-order spectrum properties of the Mexican exchange rate reversible process. The results show that the series is time irreversible and therefore it does not comply with the property of i.i.d. The result implies that this kind of series cannot be analyzed with GARCH models, since this could have led to wrong economic policies.
Role of lymphadenectomy in intermediate-risk endometrial cancer: a matched-pair study
Pluvio J. Coronado,Agnieszka Rychlik,Maria A. Martínez-Maestre,Laura Baquedano,María Fasero,Aida García-Arreza,Sara Morales,Daniel M. Lubian,Ignacio Zapardiel 대한부인종양학회 2018 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.29 No.1
Objective: To assess the impact of lymph node dissection (LND) on morbidity, survival, and cost for intermediate-risk endometrial cancers (IREC). Methods: A multicenter retrospective cohort of 720 women with IREC (endometrioid histology with myometrial invasion <50% and grade 3; or myometrial invasion ≥50% and grades 1–2; or cervical involvement and grades 1–2) was carried out. All patients underwent hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. A matched pair analysis identified 178 pairs (178 with LND and 178 without it) equal in age, body mass index, co-morbidities, American Society of Anesthesiologist score, myometrial invasion, and surgical approach. Demographic data, pathology results, perioperative morbidity, and survival were abstracted from medical records. Disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) was analyzed using Kaplan-Meier curves and multivariate Cox regression analysis. Cost analysis was carried out between both groups. Results: Both study groups were homogeneous in demographic data and pathologic results. The mean follow-up in patients free of disease was 61.7 months (range, 12.0–275.5). DFS (hazard ratio [HR]=1.34; 95% confidence interval [CI]=0.79–2.28) and OS (HR=0.72; 95% CI=0.42–1.23) were similar in both groups, independently of nodes count. In LND group, positive nodes were found in 10 cases (5.6%). Operating time and late postoperative complications were higher in LND group (p<0.05). Infection rate was significantly higher in no-LND group (p=0.035). There were no statistical differences between both groups regarding operative morbidity and hospital stay. The global cost was similar for both groups. Conclusion: Systematic LND in IREC has no benefit on survival, although it does not show an increase in perioperative morbidity or global cost.
Control of selectivity in the reduction of nitrate by shielding of Pd–Cu/C catalysts with AOT

Catalytic chemical reduction of nitrate without generating harmful nitrite and ammonium is still achallenge limiting the application of this technology to the production of drinking water. In this work anew approach was proposed based on shielding of Pd active sites in PdCu catalysts by sodium bis-2-ethylhexyl sulphosuccinate (AOT). To study this concept and the interactions between PdCu and AOT,carbon-supported PdCu catalysts were prepared by microemulsion using AOT as surfactant, and byincipient wetness impregnation followed by exposure to AOT. All the catalysts based on AOT showedlower activity in nitrate reduction than those prepared by ordinary incipient wetness impregnation, however ammonium generation was prevented thanks to shielding of Pd active sites by AOT. Bimetalliccatalysts prepared by physically mixing Pd and Cu monometallic catalysts and exposure to AOT revealed alower activity in nitrate reduction, which was ascribed to the interference of AOT in the Pd–Cu redoxmechanism and lower hydrogen spillover. However, the catalysts maintained the ability to reduce nitritewith negligible production of ammonium, showing that shielding of Pd active sites can be an interestingapproach to avoid nitrite and ammonium formation in nitrate reduction, but a compromise betweenactivity and selectivity must be achieved.
Las relaciones internacionales
H. Estuardo Meneses Coronado 한국외국어대학교 중남미연구소 2018 중남미연구 Vol.37 No.3
One of the principle debates in international relations circles is the dispute between modernism and post-modernism in an ever-globalizing world. As a Latin American, I set out to reflect on the debate’s impact on Latin American countries, with an emphasis on explaining its current state to this day in the region and the need to create new paradigms. For this purpose, the following essay presents the different visions, theories, and foundations of authors during the Third Great Debate; ranging from the postulates set forth by positivism and constructivism, conflict resolution and constitutive theories, to postmodernist approaches. Reflection over these varying arguments reveals that much of the theoretical debates have fundamentally taken place in academic communities in the United States and Europe; leaving out other regions of the world such as Latin America, with very few exceptions influenced by geopolitics. Therefore, I urge for Latin American scholars and universities to create mechanisms that promote investigation, theory construction, and the models required for their own decision-making in politics and international relations.
A Study on the Electrical Characteristics of Different Wire Materials
Jeong, Chi-Hyeon,Ahn, Billy,Ray, Coronado,Kai, Liu,Hlaing, Ma Phoo Pwint,Park, Susan,Kim, Gwang The Korean Microelectronics and Packaging Society 2013 마이크로전자 및 패키징학회지 Vol.20 No.4
Gold wire has long been used as a proven method of connecting a silicon die to a substrate in wide variety of package types, delivering high yield and productivity. However, with the high price of gold, the semiconductor packaging industry has been implementing an alternate wire material. These materials may include silver (Ag) or copper (Cu) alloys as an alternative to save material cost and maintain electrical performance. This paper will analyze and compare the electrical characteristics of several wire types. For the study, typical 0.6 mil, 0.8 mil and 1.0 mil diameter wires were selected from various alloy types (2N gold, Palladium (Pd) coated/doped copper, 88% and 96% silver) as well as respective pure metallic wires for comparison. Each wire model was validated by comparing it to electromagnetic simulation results and measurement data. Measurements from the implemented test boards were done using a vector network analyzer (VNA) and probe station setup. The test board layout consisted of three parts: 1. Analysis of the diameter, length and material characteristic of each wire; 2. Comparison between a microstrip line and the wire to microstrip line transition; and 3. Analysis of the wire's cross-talk. These areas will be discussed in detail along with all the extracted results from each type the wire.

This paper reports the results of a study on the perception of education returns among the residents of a poor urban neighborhood in Jalisco, Mexico. We found that household heads have a lower expectation of education returns when the household head is a small business owner, controlling for the parents’ education level and gender, income and household socio-demographic characteristics. Parents who own a small business report that they are more likely to let their children drop out school. This fact is important to be considered when microcredit policy is designed and implemented for the creation of small businesses.
