        This study was done for the purpose of making an improved provision for sabbatical year program of the Soonchunhyang university. We made a comparison, between the provision for sabbatical year of Soonchunhyang university and those of other 16 universities in Korea, and proposed a new rule for sabbatical year program. The main features of the reformed plan are as follows. 1) Diversification of sabbatical year program based on a period of time and contents into two categories : research fellowship and reduction of the lecture time for duty per semester. 2) More detailed description of the purpose for sabbatical year program. 3) Relief of the qualification for application. 4) More strict prescription to the number of faculties for sabbatical year. 5) More definite prescription to the faculty's obligations. To be more progressive and competitive in 21st century for Soonchunhyang university, new approaches to program for faculty retraining including the sabbatical year rule are needed.

      • 이차성 간질의 발작후 기간중에 발생한 정신증적 장애

        The authors reported a 35-year-old man who had never experienced a seizure but had psychotic disorder with symptoms such as persecutary delusion, hallucinatory behavior, aggressive act with excitement, mutism and loosening of association during postictal period following repetitive tonic-clonic seizures of first onset. The cause of seizure was not identified, but it might be due to a certain general medical condition such as metabolic disturbances. There are many hypotheses to explain the relationship between psychopathology and seizure, however it is not clear. Clinicians also must consider various aspects to evaluate, diagnose and treat the patient with comorbid seizure and psychotic condition. This case illustrates many clinical implications like these.

        다양한 광원에 의한 광중합형 수복물질의 미세경도에 관한 연구

        이번 연구의 목적은 청색광을 방출하는 다이오드(LED) 광중합기(FreeLight2, L.E.Demetron Ⅰ, Ultra-Lume 5)가 3가지의 레진재료들 (Z250, Point 4, Dyract AP)의 미세경도에 미치는 영향을 평가하고 그들의 최적 중합시간을 찾는 것이다. 표본들은 각각의 복합체에 대하여 아크릴릭 몰드(2.0mm×3mm)를 사용하여 만들었다. 모든 표본들은 평평한 유리판위에 Mylar strip을 위치시킨 후 제작되었다. 몰드에 복합체가 위치된 후 또다른 Mylar strip으로 덮고 유리판으로 가볍게 압력을 가하였다. 광조사 시간은 Elipar TriLight은 40초, Elipar FreeLight 2, L.E.Demetron I, Ultra-Lume 5는 각각 5,10,20,40초씩으로 하였으며 평균 경도값은 각각의 그룹에서 상층과 하층을 사용하여 계산했다. 결과의 통계적 유의성을 위해 ANOVA와 Sheffe's test를 사용하였다. FreeLight 2. Ultra-Lume 5, and L.E.Dementron Ⅰ는 대조군인 할로rps 광중합 40초에 비교하여 Point 4를 20초에 중합시킬수 있었다. FreeLight 2dhk L.E.DemetronⅠ는 대조군인 40초의 할로겐 광중합에 비교하여 Dyract AP를 10초에 중합시킬수 있었다. 이번 연구에서 사용된 LED 광중합기는 통상적으로 이용되는 할로겐 광중합기와 비교시 절반이하의 조사시간으로도 적절한 미세 경도를 얻을 수 있었다. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of blue light emitting diode (LED) Light Curing Units(FreeLight 2, L.E.Demetron Ⅰ,Ultra-Lume 5) on the microhardness of three resin composites (Z250, Point 4, Dyract AP) and to determine their optimal curing time. Samples were made using acrylic molds (2.0mm x 3mm) of each composite. All samples were prepared over a Mylar strip placed on a flat glass surface. After composite placement on the molds. the top surface was covered with another Mylar strip and a glass slab was gently pressed over it. The times of irradiation were as follows: Elipar TriLight, 40s; Elipar FreeLight 2, L.E.Dementron I, and Ultra-Lume 5, 10s, 20s, 40s, respectively. Mean hardness values were calculated at the top and bottom for each group. ANOVA and Sheffe's test were used to evaluate the statistical significance of the results. Results showed that FreeLight 2. Ultra-Lume 5, and L.E.Demetron I were able to polymerize point 4 in 20 seconds to a degree equal to that of the halogen control at 40 seconds. FreeLight 2 and L.E.Demetron I were able to polymerize Z250 in 10 seconds to a degree equal to that of the haogen control at 20 seconds. FreeLight 2 and L.E.Demetron I were able to polymerize Dyract AP in 10 seconds to a degree equal to that of the halogen control at 40seconds. The commercially available LED curing lights used in this study showed an adequate microhardness with less than half of the exposure time of a halogen curing unit.

      • 한국산 독말풀에 대한연구(Ⅰ) : HPLC에 의한 Hyoscyamine 과 Scopolamine의 정량

        A new method for quantitative determination of Hyoscyamine and Scopolamine in Datura stramonium L. by High Performance Liquid Chromatography(HPLC) was established. A reversed-phase system with a μ Bondapak C18 column using methanol in 0.2% aqueous phosphoric acid(40:60) with PIC A as a mobile phase was developed. Hyoscyamine and Scopolamine were detected at 254nm and the analysis was successfully carried out within 20min.

        한국 정신장애의 역학 조사 연구[I] : 각 정신장애의 유병률

        Objectives : This study aims to estimate the prevalence of the DSM-IV psychiatric disorders in Korean population using the Korean version of Composite International Diagnostic Interview (K-CIDI). Methods : Subjects were selected by taking multi-stage, cluster samples of 7,867 adult household residents, 18 to 64 years of age, in ten catchment areas. Total 78 trained interviewers administered the K-CIDI to the selected respondents, from June 1 to November30,2001. Results : Total 6,275 respondents completed the interview. Some 33.5% of respondents reported at least one lifetime disorder, 20.6% reported at least one-year disorder, and 16.7% reported at least one-month disorder. The most common lifetime disorders were alcohol abuse/dependence (17.24%), nicotine dependence/withdrawal (11.19%), specific phobia (5.16%), and major de-pressive disorder (4.25%). The lifetime prevalence of substance abuse/dependence (0.25%) and schizophrenia (0.16%) was very low. Nicotine and alcohol use disorder showed very high male/female ratio. Mood disorder and anxiety disorder were more prevalent among female than male. Conclusion : The prevalence of psychiatric disorders was high. In comparison with other studies, remarkable differences in distributions of psychiatric disorders across the areas and times were observed.

        Antiproliferative Effects of Curcumin Analogues

        Curcumin and its analogues(tetrahydrocurcumin THC, demethoxycurcumin;BDMC and dimethoxy- curcumin DiMC) were compared for their ability to inhibit the growth of human leukemia HL-60 cells. The growth of HL-60 cells was inhibited by curcumin, DeMC and DiMC, but not by THC lacking α,β- unsaturated carbonyl groups thus suggesting that α,β-unsaturated carbonyl groups are crucial for antiproliferative activity. The order of antiproliferative activity was DiMC, curcumin and BDMC indicating that the number of methoxy groups on the aromatic rings of the active compounds plays an important role in enhancing anti-proliferating activity. In comparison with cellular uptake of the active compounds, uptake capacity was found to be highest with DiMC, followed by curcumin and BDMC. Therefore, it is most likely that the differential antiproliferative activities of DiMC, curcumin and BDMC are associated with their capacities of cellular uptake resulting in building up of enough concentration inside the cells.

        Lightweight Named Entity Extraction for Korean Short Message Service Text

        In this paper, we propose a hybrid method of Machine Learning (ML) algorithm and a rule-based algorithm to implement a lightweight Named Entity (NE) extraction system for Korean SMS text. NE extraction from Korean SMS text is a challenging theme due to the resource limitation on a mobile phone, corruptions in input text, need for extension to include personal information stored in a mobile phone, and sparsity of training data. The proposed hybrid method retaining the advantages of statistical ML and rule-based algorithms provides fully-automated procedures for the combination of ML approaches and their correction rules using a threshold-based soft decision function. The proposed method is applied to Korean SMS texts to extract person`s names as well as location names which are key information in personal appointment management system. Our proposed system achieved 80.53% in F-measure in this domain, superior to those of the conventional ML approaches.

      • Optimized Quantization for Convolutional Deep Neural Networks in Federated Learning

        Federated learning is a distributed learning method that trains a deep network on user devices without collecting data from central server. It is useful when the central server can’t collect data. However, the absence of data on central server means that deep network compression using data is not possible. Deep network compression is very important because it enables inference even on device with low capacity. In this paper, we proposed a new quantization method that significantly reduces FPROPS(floating-point operations per second) in deep networks without leaking user data in federated learning. Quantization parameters are trained by general learning loss, and updated simultaneously with weight. We call this method as OQFL(Optimized Quantization in Federated Learning). OQFL is a method of learning deep networks and quantization while maintaining security in a distributed network environment including edge computing. We introduce the OQFL method and simulate it in various Convolutional deep neural networks. We shows that OQFL is possible in most representative convolutional deep neural network. Surprisingly, OQFL(4bits) can preserve the accuracy of conventional federated learning(32bits) in test dataset.
