        바이오피드백 훈련이 만성 두통 환자의 임상 증상 및 스트레스 반응에 미치는 효과

        Objectives : This study aimed to examine the effect of biofeedback treatment on the clinical symptoms and stress responses in chronic headache patients. Methods : We recruited 18 chronic headache patients who were treated with 8 sessions of biofeedback treatment and 18 age and sex-matched control headache patients. All subjects consisted of patients with chronic tension headache and migraine hea-dache. Stress responses were measured using Symptoms of stress (SOS) inventory and all subjects performed Beck depression inventory (BDI), Spielberger state anxiety inventory (STAIS), and visual analogue scale (VAS). Biofeedback physiological vaiiables including frontal and forearm EMG, electrodermal response (EDR) and skin temperature at pre-and post-treatment were also measured in all subjects. Results : Compared with control patients, patients on biofeedback treatment showed significant reduction in scores of STAIS(t=3.705,P<.001),andVAS (t=3.392, p=.001) as well as SOS subscales ; peripheral manifestations (t= 1.788, P=.042), habitual pattems (t=2.008, P=.027), depression (t=2.081, P=.023), anxiety (t= 1.990, P=.028), and total score (t=2.045, p=.025). There was a significant increase of skin temperature (t= -1.835, P=.038) only in the biofeedback treatment group. Conclusion : These results suggest that biofeedback treatment may be effective in relieving chronic headache by reducing psychological and physiological stress responses.

      • Latent tuberculosis infection increases in kidney transplant recipients compared with transplant candidates: a neglected perspective in tuberculosis control

        Background: The prevalence and incidence of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) in patients with kidney transplant remains unclear. Methods: In this prospective study, we enrolled kidney transplant candidates (KTCs) and recipients (KTRs) from 2014 to 2018. We defined LTBI as a positive result of QuantiFERON-TB Gold In-tube (QFT). We analyzed the predictors for LTBI acquisition and followed QFT test for 2 years among those initially without LTBI. Results: Of 425 patients enrolled, 305 (71.8%) patients belonged to the KTC group and 120 (28.2%) to the KTR group. The initial QFT showed positive results in 33 (10.8%) and 25 (20.8%) in the KTC and KTR groups, respectively (p=0.007). The QFT response value in LTBI patients was higher in the KTR group than in the KTC group (1.85 vs. 1.06 IU/ml, p=0.046). Multivariate logistic regression showed that old age, absence of Bacillus Calmette-Guerin scar, and KTR group were independent factors for positive LTBI. For participants with initial negative QFT, positive QFT conversion within 2-year follow-up was higher after kidney transplantation (20%) than in KTCs (5.5%) (p=0.032). Conclusion: This study is the first cohort to follow up LTBI status in patients with kidney transplant and shows its higher prevalence and incidence in those belong to KTR. It indicates that surveillance of LTBI after renal transplantation is important.

        Adjusting optical resonance thickness to increase the conversion efficiency of polymer solar cells

        The derivatives of C60, [6,6]-phenyl C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM), and 3-hexylthiophene (P3HT)were dissolved in DCB solvent, then spin coated into an active layer for polymer solar cells. The experimental parameters were studied carefully to obtain the optimum power conversion efficiency (PCE). The primary process for generation of photocurrent in an organic photovoltaic device is the generation of bound electron–hole pairs (excitons) by absorption of energy (photons) from the optical electric field. Modeling was based on the assumption that the photocurrent generation process is the result of the creation and diffusion of photogenerated species (excitons), which are dissociated by charge transfer at the active layer. Improve organic optics absorb by insert organic layer (CuPc or C60) at the active layer/Al interface. This research is divided into two components. First part, we use n-type C60 as transmission layer. When an optimum thickness of C60 is 5 nm, the Jsc of polymer solar cell can be increased from 7.26 mA/㎠ to 7.7 mA/㎠. The Voc decrease is because the energy level of C60 LUMO (lowest unoccupied molecular orbital) at 4.5 eV is higher than the 3.7 eV of PCBM. Second part, we use p-type CuPc as transmission layer. When an optimum thickness of CuPc is 3 nm, the short circuit photo-current density (Jsc) and open circuit voltage (Voc) of polymer solar cell can be increased from 7.26 mA/㎠ to 8.0 mA/㎠ and 0.56–0.58 V, respectively. The reason is the same as C60. The Voc increase is because the energy level of CuPc LUMO (lowest unoccupied molecular orbital) at 3.1 eV is lower than the 3.7 eV of PCBM. The Jsc increase is because the 3 nm of CuPc leads to a constructive interference happened in the active layer and thus optical absorption increases. In this study we used 3 nm of CuPc at the active layer/Al interface to enhance the short circuit current density, and the efficiency was increased to 2.94%.

        Application of Robotic Welding Technology to the Continuity Plate Weld Within a Steel Built-up Box Column in Buildings

        This paper presents a study to investigate the feasibility of using robotic welding technologies to weld the continuity plate and the column flange plate during manufacturing steel built-up box columns in buildings. Specimens designed to emulate the key components in the steel beam-to-column moment connections for Special moment frame were fabricated and welded using a proposed automated procedure that performs multi-layer, multi-pass welding for thick steel plates. Effects of controlling parameters on robotic welding results that includes the manner of bead stacking, wire feed speed, travel speed, working angle, arc voltage, the path of the welding pass, and the methods to start and finish welding passes were investigated. The quality of the welded products was assessed by visual inspection and ultrasonic testing (UT). Further mechanical tests including tensile tests, bending tests, and cyclic loading tests were carried out on selected welded products that passed the UT examination. The test results indicated that the robotic welds showed no visible damage or cracks, met requirements specified in the AWS specification, and exhibited satisfactory strength and ductility.

        식이섬유 D/B 구축과 2001 국민건강 영양조사 식이섬유 섭취량 재평가 : 20세 이상 성인을 대상으로

        본 연구에서는 3,149가지의 식이섬유 DB를 새로이 구축하고, 이 자료와 2001년 국민건강 · 영양조사 자료 중 24시간 회상법에 의한 식품섭취조사 결과를 활용하여 20세 이상 한국인의 식이섬유 섭취량을 성별, 연령별, 지역별로 구분하여 섭취열량 1,000 ㎉당 식이섬유섭취량과 일 일 총 식이섬유 섭취량을 AI와 비교평가 하였다. 또한 새로 구축한 식이섬유 D/B에서 구분한 식품군을 이용하여 식이섬유 섭취 기여식품군을 조사하였으며, 연구결과를 요약 하면 다음과 같다. 1) 전체 대상자의 1,000 ㎉당 평균 식이섬유 섭취량은 12.24 g/1,000 ㎉이고, 남성은 11.47 g/1,000 ㎉, 여성은 12.88 g/1,000 ㎉로, 남성은 AI에 마달되었고, 여성은 AI보다 많았다. 일일 식이섬유 총 섭취량은 전체 23.58g 남성 25.04g 여성 22.36g으로 유의적으로 남성이 여성보다 많았다. 2) 연령별로 영양섭취 기준을 판정한 결과 섭취열량 1,000 ㎉당 식이섬유 섭취량은 남성은 50~64세 (12.45 g/1,000 ㎉), 65~74세 (13.27 g/l,000 ㎉)에서만 AI보다 많이 섭취하고 있었고, 여성은 20~29세 (11.20 g/1,000 ㎉)에서만 AI보다 적게 섭취하였다. 1인 1일 식이섬유 총 섭취량은 여성 30~49세 (23.18 g/day). 50~64세 (24.27 g/day)를 제외하고는 모든 그룹에서 AI보다 적은 양을 섭취하고 있었다. 3) 지역을 대도시, 중소도시, 읍면지역으로 나누어 식이섬유 섭취를 평가한 결과 읍면지역>중소도시>대도시 순으로 섭취하고 있었으며, 1,000 ㎉당 식이섬유 섭취량은 대도시에서 AI보다 적게 섭취하고 있으면서 각 지역 간에 유의적인 차이를 보였으나, 1일 총 식이섬유 섭취량으로 비교 사에는 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 4) 20세 이상 전체 대상자의 식이섬유 기여식품군은 채 소류 (40.98%)>곡류 (19.86%)>과열류 (14.98%) 순으로 이 세 가지 군이 전체의 75% 이상을 차지하고 있었다. 성별, 연령별, 지역별 평균 섭취량으로 비교 시 50~64세, 65~74세 여성만 채소류>과열류>곡류 순으로 섭취하고 있었으며, 그 외 모든 군에서는 채소류>곡류>과일류 순으로 산출되었다. 식이섬유 섭취에 기여하는 상위 10대 단일 식품은 배추김치, 백미, 단감, 고춧가루, 무청, 귤, 두부, 배, 사과, 대두였으며 계절적 요인을 받는 과일과 무청을 제외한 나머지 식품에서 전체 식이섬유의 30% 이상을 섭취하고 있었다. The present study estimates intake levels of dietary fiber (DF) in Korean adults aged 20 and over, using a newly established dietary fiber database for 3,149 food items, as well as 24-hour recall method data from the 2001 Korean National Health and Nutrition Survey Dietary fiber intake and food group; are analyzed by gender, age, and region. The average dietary fiber intake, per capita of Korea was estimated to be 12.24 g/1,000 ㎉ or 23.58 g/day. Calorie-based dietary fiber intake for 20-49 year-old-Korean males, 20-29 year-old females, and the adults who resided in metropolitan areas was under the Adequate Intake for DF, 12 g/1,000 ㎉ Further, the dietary fiber intake after adjusting energy intake in people over 75 year-old was estimated to be 75% of AI. Vegetables, cereals and fruits were three major sources of DF for Korean, making up approximately 75% of DF. Regarding the subjects of this study, major sources of dietary fiber were Kimchi and well-polished rice, which supplied 13.98% and 9.16% of total dietary fiber intake, respectively. The result of this study could contribute to the establishment of DRIs for dietary fiber, after adjust-ing energy intake for Korean aged 75 years and over. The beneficial health effects of DF and the necessity of nutritional education in this area should be continuously emphasized concerning 20-29 year-old people and metropolitan adults.         Dexamethasone Downregulates Expressions of 14-3-3β and γ-Isoforms in Mice with Eosinophilic Meningitis Caused by Angiostrongylus cantonensis Infection

        Steroids are commonly used in patients with eosinophilic meningitis caused by A. cantonensis infections. The mechanism steroids act on eosinophilic meningitis remains unclear. In this mouse experiments, expressions of 14-3-3 isoform β and γ proteins significantly increased in the CSF 2-3 weeks after the infection, but not increasedin the dexa- methasone-treated group. Expression of 14-3-3 β, γ, ε, and θ isoforms increased in brain meninges over the 3-week pe- riod after infection and decreased due to dexamethasone treatment. In conclusion, administration of dexamethasone in mice with eosinophilic meningitis decreased expressions of 14-3-3 isoform proteins in the CSF and in brain meninges.

      • 수종어류의 환경조건에 따른 모기 유충 포식성에 관한 조사연구

        Predation potentials of mosquito larvae, Culex pipiens sp., by three kinds of indigenous fish in korea : Aplocheilus latipes (Al), Aphyocypris chinensis (Ac) and Carassius carassius(Cc) were tested in relation to water pollution, in terms of levels of BOD, COD and DO. The length of survival of the fish was correlated with the pollution grade in general, but Ac showed less resistance than other fish. In BOD 70ppm, Ai survived 3 days, Ac 1 day and Cc 4 days. When the BOD density reduced to 40ppm, Al survived 71 days, Ac 11 days and Cc 76 days. In DO 0.3ppm, Al and Cc survived 1 day, but Ac were killed within 30 minutes. In COD, the survival period of each fish was almost similar to BOD conditions above. Larvivorous activity was prominently greater in Cc than Al and Ac. The number of the ingested larvae per day in BOD 0.5-1.0ppm were : 3-3.1 per day by Al and Ac, but 195 by Cc. The predation ratios were : Al : Ac : Cc = 1.0 : 1.5 : 195 in clean water (BOD O ppm), and 1.0 : 0.8 : 91.7 in BOD 4ppm. The fish ate mosquito larvae as much as commercial bait and the larvivorous potentials were correlated with the size of the fish, in terms of age. The first instar was more favored by the fish than the pupal stage. In conclusion, Carassius sp. was the most promising predator among the fish tested under either clean or polluted conditions in laboratory.
