        Virtual Environment Modeling for Battery Management System

        The offline verification of state of charge estimation, power estimation, fault diagnosis and emergency control of battery management system (BMS) is one of the key technologies in the field of electric vehicle battery system. It is difficult to test and verify the battery management system software in the early stage, especially for algorithms such as system state estimation, emergency control and so on. This article carried out the virtual environment modeling for verification of battery management system. According to the input/output parameters of battery management system, virtual environment is determined to run the battery management system. With the integration of the developed BMS model and the external model, the virtual environment model has been established for battery management system in the vehicle’s working environment. Through the virtual environment model, the effectiveness of software algorithm of BMS was verified, such as battery state parameters estimation, power estimation, fault diagnosis, charge and discharge management, etc.

        Experiment Study and Finite Element Analysis of Spring Constant of Welded Metal Bellows

        <P>This study tries to obtain the spring constant of welded metal bellows through experimental and numerical method respectively. The prediction of spring constant plays a great role in the design and application of the welded metal bellows. To derive the spring constant of the bellows, we employ commercial package to build up 2 axi-symmetric FEM models by using plane 42 and shell 51 elements. In the experiment, we use UTM to measure the spring constant of the bellows. And, the predicted spring constant resulting from the analysis is compared with the experimental one to discuss the rationality of spring constant analysis. The analytical results correspond well with experimental data and hence explaining the validity of FEM model.</P>

        A Novel Battery State of Health Estimation Method Based on Outlier Detection Algorithm

        A novel battery SOH estimation algorithm based on outlier detection has been presented. The Battery state of health (SOH) is one of the most important parameters that describes the usability state of the power battery system. Firstly, a battery system model with lifetime fading characteristic was established, and the battery characteristic parameters were acquired from the lifetime fading process. Then, the outlier detection method based on angular distribution was used to identify the outliers among the battery behaviors. Lastly, the functional relationship between battery SOH and the outlier distribution was obtained by polynomial fitting method. The experimental results show that the algorithm can identify the outliers accurately, and the absolute error between the SOH estimation value and true value is less than 3%.

        Modeling and Implementation of Fixed Switching Frequency Sliding Mode Control to Two-Stage DC-DC Converter

        A fixed switching frequency sliding mode (FSFSM) controller for two-stage DC-DC converter is proposed. Owing to the time-varying switched mode operation, the dynamic performance of two-stage converter becomes high order and non-linear. For designing the FSFSM controller, the state-space average model is made, and then the three conditions of sliding mode (SM) control, namely, hitting, existence and stability condition are analyzed. A conventional linear controller (Lag) for two-stage converter is designed as a comparison to validate the good robustness and dynamic response of the FSFSM controller. At last, a series of simulation and experimental results are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the designed FSFSM controller.

        Implementation of Image Transmission Based on Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication

        Weak over-the-horizon perception and blind spot are the main problems in intelligent connected vehicles(ICVs). In this paper, a V2V image transmission-based road condition warning method is proposed to solvethem. The encoded road emergency images which are collected by the ICV are transmitted to the on-board unit(OBU) through Ethernet. The OBU broadcasts the fragmented image information including location and clockof the vehicle to other OBUs. To satisfy the channel quality of the V2X communication in different times, theoptimal fragment length is selected by the OBU to process the image information. Then, according to theposition and clock information of the remote vehicles, OBU of the receiver selects valid messages to decodethe image information which will help the receiver to extend the perceptual field. The experimental resultsshow that our method has an average packet loss rate of 0.5%. The transmission delay is about 51.59 ms inlow-speed driving scenarios, which can provide drivers with timely and reliable warnings of the roadconditions.

        This study tries to analyze the spring constant of welded metal bellows by using FEM. For the purpose of application and newly design of welded metal bellows, the prediction of spring constant is very important. We employ a commercial package of ANSYS 8.0 to analysis the spring constant and use UTM to test the spring constant. Plane 42 and shell 51 element are used for spring constant analysis. The predicted spring constants are compared with the experimental one to discuss the rationality of spring constant analysis process. The analytical result agrees well with experimental data hence explaining the validity of FEM model.

      • S-228 : Early Intervention in Octogenarians with Non-ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction

        Background and Objectives: Octogenarians with coronary artery disease constitute a high risk group. Most studies documented that octogenarians with non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) may derive a greater benefit from an invasive strategy than younger patients, but the optimal timing of such intervention is not well established. We hypothesized that octogenarians with NSTEMI who underwent earlier intervention in the invasive arm would have improved outcomes. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 567 octogenarians who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and who were enrolled in the Korean Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry. They were divided into 2 groups, an early intervention (PCI done within 24 hours after onset of symptoms; n=228) and deferred intervention (24 to 72 hours; n=339). The primary outcome was the incidence of in hospital death and major bleeding. Secondary clinical endpoints were the 12-month all-cause death and 12-month major adverse cardiac events (MACE), where MACE included all-cause death, recurrent myocardial infarction, target lesion revascularization (TLR), and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Results: There were no significant differences in the incidence of in hospital death (6.4 vs. 5.9%: p=0.808) and major bleeding (0.0 vs. 3.0%: p=0.110) between groups. The secondary clinical endpoints were similar between two groups during 12-month follow-up: all-cause death (8.0 vs. 11.5%: p=0.936), MACE (11.3 vs. 16.9%: p=0.897), recurrent myocardial infarction (0.9 vs. 0.5%: p=0.484), TLR (1.8 vs. 1.6%: p=0.693) and CABG (0.0 vs. 0.5%: p=0.678). Conclusions: In octogenarians with NSTEMI, an early intervention approach does not offer an advantage over a deferred intervention.

        최근 신재생에너지를 이용한 발전시스템에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 본 논문은 도서지역의 풍력 발전기, 태양광 발전기 그리고 배터리로 구성된 독립형 복합전원 시스템의 모니터링 방법에 관한 것이며, 원격지에서의 모니터링을 위해 랩뷰를 이용한 인터넷 모니터링 방법도 연구하였다. 제작된 측정 하드웨어와 PC에서 실행되는 모니터링 프로그램이 측정 데이터를 수집 및 표시하고 저장장치에 파일로 저장하며, 인터넷을 통해 데이터를 실시간으로 원격지에 전송하는 것을 확인하였다. Recently, renewable energy has been rising as a main concern in the field of hybrid power generation system. This study is about on a method of monitoring system for stand alone hybrid power generation system which is contextured with wind turbine, photovoltaic and batteries in the area of island, and on a method of internet monitoring using LabVIEW. We designed a hardware for monitoring system and programmed software running on the PC. The program collects and displays data, and saves data to a text file. We verified that the program sent data via internet in real time to remote place.
