        This study was performed to provide preliminary data for the development of a useful instrument to measure the effect of sex education. The study was conducted with the voluntary participation of 155 college students enrolled in the course "Sexuality and Relationship" at Y university in Seoul. At the end of that course, they were asked to write freely about the change they had experienced on sexuality. All meaningful statements were elicited and classified into 7 categories; "Change of Knowledge", "Enlightenment", "Change of Attitude on Sexuality", "Buildup of Ability", "Buildup of. Identity", "Change of Emotion", "Change of Behavior:' There were significant changes in the areas of knowledge(28. 6%), enlightenment(27.4%), and attitudes(20.3%) about sexuality among these 7 categories. The Change of Knowledge category consists of 3 areas: "concretion of knowledge", "increase of information", and "correction of misunderstanding." In the category of Enlightenment, total 12 areas are included: "sex role", "erception of lack of knowledge", "importance of family", "life plan", "parent role", "value of life", "equality", "sexual autonomy", "importance of sexuality", "freedom of sexuality", "perception of sexual problem", and "meaning of love." The Attitude Change category consists of 8 areas. These are "being natural", "being progressive", "being sensitive", "being truthful", "being expressive", "being cautious", "being responsible", and "being confident". The category of Buildup of Ability includes 4 areas: "problem solving", "sex education", "relationship", and "communication". The category of Buildup of Identity includes "sexual identity", and "value of sexuality". The Emotional Change category includes 3 areas: "positive feeling", "negative feeling", and "breaking from negative feeling on sexuality". The Behavior Change category includes "sex-related behavioral change". In conclusion, up to now most researches on sex education effect measures only changes of knowledge, attitude, and behavior. But we believe the changes in "Enlightenment", "Buildup of Ability", "Buildup of Identity", "Change of Emotion", should be included in addition to knowledge, attitude, and behavior in the development of an instrument to measure the sex education effects. And the effect of sex education should measure the degree of learning of autonomy, enlightenment, and ability of behavior and so on rather than studying the simple changes in sexuality.enment", "Buildup of Ability", "Buildup of Identity", "Change of Emotion", should be included in addition to knowledge, attitude, and behavior in the development of an instrument to measure the sex education effects.         Causes and Predictive Factors Associated with "Diagnosis Changed" Outcomes in Patients Notified as Tuberculosis Cases in a Private Tertiary Hospital

        Background: The aim of our study was to evaluate the "diagnosis changed" rate in patients notified as tuberculosis (TB) on the Korean TB surveillance system (KTBS). Methods: A total of 1,273 patients notified as TB cases on the KTBS in one private tertiary hospital in 2011 were enrolled in the present study. Patients were classified into three groups: "diagnosis maintained", "diagnosis changed" (initially notified as TB, but ultimately diagnosed as non-TB), and "administrative error" (notified as TB due to administrative errors). Results: Excluding 17 patients in the "administrative error" group, the "diagnosis maintained" and "diagnosis changed" groups included 1,097 (87.3%) and 159 patients (12.7%), respectively. Common causes of "diagnosis changed" were nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) disease (51.7%, 61/118), and pneumonia (17.8%) in cases notified as pulmonary TB, and meningitis (19.5%, 8/41) and Crohn's disease (12.2%) in cases notified as extrapulmonary TB. Being older than 35 years of age (odds ratio [OR], 2.18) and a positive acid-fast bacilli stain (OR, 1.58) were positive predictors and a TB-related radiological finding (OR, 0.42) was a negative predictor for a "diagnosis changed" result via multivariate logistic regression analysis in pulmonary TB cases. Conclusion: Because of a high "diagnosis changed" rate in TB notifications to the KTBS, the TB incidence rate measured by the KTBS may be overestimated. Considering the worldwide trend toward increased NTM disease, the "diagnosis changed" rate may increase over time. Thus, when reporting the annual TB notification rate in Korea, the exclusion of "diagnosis changed" cases is desirable.

      • 평행봉 몸 굽혀 2회전 뒤 공중 돌아 내리기 동작의 국면별 운동학적 분석

        This thesis has an aim to examine the influence on landing of successful salto by the difference of athletic factors of salto backward tucked dismount on the parallel bars. This thesis analyzed six national representative players dividing them into the skill group (G1) who got more than 9.5 point and the unskilled group (G2) who got less than 9.5 point based on the average point by four international referees utilizing three dimensional image analyses photographed with video camera, and it got the conclusion of the athletic factors dividing into each aspect as followings. 1. As for the time spent by the groups when the thesis divided them into each aspect, G1 spent more time than G2. It's because G1 acted in stability at the moment of staying in the space and landing as it spent much time in the space with fast down swing and release, but G2 on the contrary, acted fast at the moment of space of four aspects with slow down swing and release. And its landing was unstable at the movement of low height. 2. As for the positional change in each aspect, the parallel position of G2 increased than that of G1, and the increased parallel position made the unstable salto and landing . As for the change of vertical position, at the time of down swing in the first aspect, what G1 acted at the low position of the second aspect at the high position seemed to be an act to release fast falling the high joint down, and it made salto high and made landing stable. 3. As for speed change of high joint in each aspect, G1 acted with fast horizontal speed generally at the time of release, aspect of space, and aspect of landing because of right horizontal speed at the time of down swing, and it seemed to be an act to get rotary power of double salto. As for the vertical speed, G1 acted with a much more vertical speed than G2 in four aspects with a big up-down movement by the fast vertical speed at the time of down swing and release. It means that G1 acted fast with a fast vertical speed of the high joint to get the height to stay in the air. 4. As for the change of the angle of the high joint in each aspect, G1 acted a bigger down swing and release than G2 utilizing the stretched body of the high joint at the time of down swing and release. As for change of angle of shoulder, G1 acted down swing with the shoulder joint accessed nearer than G2 to the body. At the time of down swing, it acted with a big angle of shoulder joint to stretch high shoulder at the time of swing. In addition to it, at the time of release, G2 escaped from the hand more slowly than G1 because of big angle. It made the movement of space and landing movement unstable. 5. As for change of angular speed in each aspect, G1 acted with a fast high joint down swing from the start to the first aspect. It acted with a slow speed of the angle stretching the high joint in the second and the third aspect so that it could get fast angular speed in the forth and the fifth aspect. As for the change of shoulder joint, G1 acted with a fast angular speed in the aspect of space and that of landing movement by the fast speed of shoulder joint at the time of release. In addition to it, fast angular speed of the shoulder joint in the release aspect of space made the rotary power of double salto.

      • 사이클링 선수의 슬관절각에 따른 하지동작의 운동학적 분석

        This study set out to evaluate the appropriateness of the height of a cycle saddle which was usually set based on a cyclist's experience and simple judgment. For this purpose, there was aroused a need to study what a cyclist's leg movements were according to the knee joint angle, that is, to study how a cyclist's leg joint angles and angular velocity would change at each pedaling. Seven male college cyclists were selected, and their pedaling movements were divided into four phases. The images were taped at 60fields/sec, using two video cameras. The KWON 3D 2.1 program was adopted to calculate and synchronize the 3D coordinates values which were calculated with DLT(Direct Liner Transformation), in order to analyze kinematical factors. The results were as follows: 1) There was found no difference between foot joint angles according to changes of knee joint angles in each phase. But it became clear that Phase 1 and 2 where the foot angle got bigger were the area where the foot joint was expanded and that Phase 3 and 4 where the foot angle got smaller were the area where the foot joint was bent. Accordingly, the area which gives a great indirect impact to the changes of foot joint angles is considered to be the first part of Phase 3 at which point the cycle of pedaling starts. 2) In terms of the difference of foot joint angular velocity according to knee joint angles, there was found a relatively stable deceleration in the decelerating area(Phase 3 and 4) while you could detect faster changes in the acceleration area(Phase 1 and 2) than in the decelerating area. 3) The changes in the angle difference of knee joints according to each knee joint angle showed almost similar patterns for every knee joint. But the patterns had the graph model of the opposite shape to that of the angle difference of foot joints. 4) The research went on to see what kind of difference the knee joint angle made as knee joint angular velocity changed. The changes were unlike the foot joint angular velocity and thus showed relatively slow deceleration and acceleration. And the higher the saddle was set, the bigger the difference of the angular velocity was. 5) The difference of hip joint angles according to knee joint angles made a graph pattern which showed no big correlation with the height of a saddle. 6) In considering how hip joint angular velocity would change according to knee joint angles, the higher a saddle was set, the bigger angular velocity was found in Phase 1 and 2, the area of joint expansion and the smaller angular velocity in Phase 3 and 4, the area of joint bending. Comparisons and analysis were made based on the results above mentioned. The conclusion was that the lower a saddle which was one of the three experiment conditions was set, the smoother the pedaling turned and the bigger the angular velocity was resulted. In other words, when you take a long road cycling with your saddle fixed at a little lower height than the average one, you will consume less physical strength and expect better performance.

      • Biomechanical analysis of lumbar decompression surgery in relation to degenerative changes in the lumbar spine – Validated finite element analysis

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Background</B></P> <P>There are no studies about the biomechanical analysis of lumbar decompression surgery in relation to degenerative changes of the lumbar spine. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to compare, by using finite element (FE) analysis, the biomechanical changes of the lumbar spine in terms of annulus stress and nucleus pressure after two different kinds of lumbar decompression surgery in relation to disc degenerative changes.</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>The validated intact and degenerated FE models (L2-5) were used in this study. In these two models, two different decompression surgical scenarios at L3-4, including conventional laminectomy (ConLa) and the spinous process osteotomy (SpinO), were simulated. Therefore, a total of six models were simulated. Under preloading, 7.5 Nm moments of flexion, extension, lateral bending, and torsion were imposed. In each model, the maximal von Mises stress on the annulus fibrosus and nucleus pressure at the index segment (L3-4) and adjacent segments (L2-3 and L4-5) were analyzed.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>The ConLa model and disc degeneration model demonstrated a larger annulus stress at the decompression level (L3-4) under all four moments than were seen in the SpinO model and healthy disc model, respectively. Therefore, the ConLa model with moderate disc degeneration showed the highest annulus stress at the decompression level (L3-4). However, the percent change of annulus stress at L3-4 from the intact model to the matched decompression model was less in the moderate disc degeneration model than in the healthy disc model.</P> <P><B>Conclusions</B></P> <P>Although the ConLa model with moderate disc degeneration showed the highest annulus stress, the degenerative models would be less influenced by the decompression technique.</P>

      • 韓國産 미꾸리에 關한 育種·繁殖學的 硏究 : Ⅵ. Histological Changes of Pituitary Gland and Oocytes from March to May Ⅵ. 계절에 따른 암컷의 腦下垂體와 卵母細胞의 組織學的 變化

        1992년 3월부터 1992년 5월까지 자연적인 채광상태에서 溫度를 유지시킨 후 채취된 미꾸리 암컷의 腦下垂體, 肝 및 卵巢 組織의 번식주기에 일어나는 미세구조의 변화를 광학 및 투과형 전자현미경을 이용하여 살펴보고, 이것들의 相互 聯關性을 알기 위하여 본 연구를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 성숙된 개체의 뇌하수체는 수많은 작은 분비과립과 커다란 분비구 및 불규칙한 형태의 과립들이 관찰되었다. 핵소체가 핵막 주변에 위치헤 있는 후기 단계(LMO)의 난모세포가 난황이 축적되는 성숙초기 단계(EMO)의 난모세포로 변형되는 시기를 난황의 형성이 개시되는 시기로 본다. 난모세포가 성장함에 따라 핵소체의 크기와 난황과립의 수가 증가하게 된다. 난황과립은 결정상의 과립으로 난세포질에 치밀하지 않은 상태로 축적된다. 성숙초기(EMO) 및 말기단계(LMO)에 난소는 커지고 투명하며 과립형태로서 색깔이 연노란색을 나타낸다. 따라서 난 내부를 쉽게 관찰할 수 있다. 방사대(ZR)는 성숙초기단계(EMO)에 단층으로부터 입방형태로 변화된다. 과립막 세포와 난모세포로 부터 유래된 미세융모는 난황형성이 진행되는 동안에 성장하게 되며, 방사대의 pore canals의 구멍을 통해서 서로 연결되어 있다. 따라서 외부로부터 물질의 이동이 있게 된다. 난모세포가 완전하게 성숙되어 방사대가 단단해 지면 미세융모는 그 기능이 상실된다. This study was undertaken to understand the development stages of pituitary gland, liver and ovary of Korean loach(Misgurnus anguillicaudatus) under natural circumstances from March to May 1922. Expecially, the light microscopic and ultrastructural changes of ooplasm and follicular membranes of oocytes, were observed by light and transmission electron microscope during the reproductive cycle. In pituitary gland of mature individuals, there were observed a number of secretory granules,large globules, and irregular masses.The vitellogenic phase began as these late perinucleolus oocytes became transformed into early maturing oocytes through the accumulation of yolk. The size of the nucleoli and number of the yolk granules increased as the oocyte growed. Yolk granules were loosely deposited in the oocyte as crystalline granules. Due to the presence of early and late maturing oocytes, their ovaries were enlarged transparent, granular and yellowish in color. Zona radiata change a squamous into cuboid shape in EMO stage. Microvilli from the granulosa cells and from the oocyte grow and make contact with each other in the pore canals of the zona radiata during vitellogenesis, but are withdrawn as the zona radiata becomes more compact during oocyte maturation.

        Characterization of changes in global gene expression in the brain of neuron-specific enolase/human Tau23 transgenic mice in response to overexpression of Tau protein.

        <P>Tau is a neuronal phosphoprotein responsible for the formation of the neurofibrillary tangles in Alzheimer's disease. To characterize the changes in global gene expression in the brain of transgenic mice that overexpress human Tau23 protein in response to the increase of Tau23 phosphorylation, total RNA extracted from the hippocampus of 12-month-old transgenic and wild-type mice was converted to cDNA, labeled with biotin and hybridized to oligonucleotide microarrays. The microarray results were confirmed by real-time RT-PCR and Western blotting method. It was determined that 43 genes were up-regulated and 8 genes were down-regulated by Tau23 in transgenic mice compared to controls, based on the arbitrary difference in the 2-fold change. Among the up-regulated transcripts, those encoding for transporter and oxidoreductase were dramatically over-represented, followed by those related to regulatory molecule, cytoskeletal protein, signaling molecule, and extracellular matrix protein. Genes encoding for transcription factor, regulatory molecule, miscellaneous function, and chaperone were significantly reduced in the down-regulated group. The major genes in the up-regulated categories included Ecrg4, Folr1, Defb11, Aqp1 and Soctdc1. The major genes in the down-regulated categories were Ncor1, Gpm6a, and Hspd1. These results indicate that the microarray analysis identifies several gene functional groups and individual genes that respond to a sustained increase in Tau23 phosphorylation levels in the brain of transgenic mice. In addition, the results suggest the microarray test is a useful tool for increased understanding of the role of Tau23 protein in regulating neurodegenerative disorders.</P>

      • 배지의 무기염류와 sucrose 농도가 감자의 기내 shoot 증식과 기내경 삽목묘의 생존율에 미치는 영향

        감자의 virus-free 기내경 삽목묘의 효율적인 대량 생산 체계의 확립을 위하여 생장점 배양으로 얻어진 감자의 기내경의 증식과 기내경의 순화삽목을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 초대배양에서는 염류농도와 sucrose 농도가 높을수록 양호하였다. 즉, MS나 2MS에 sucrose를 6% 첨가한 배지에서 튼튼한 기내경이 생산되었다. 계대배양에서는 sucrose 농도가 높을수록 줄기의 길이는 단축되고 굵기는 커졌으며 생체중은 염류농도와 관계없이 3%의 sucrose가 첨가된 배지에서 무거웠다. 이들 유식물체의 경절을 삽목한 결과 계대배양 배지의 sucrose농도가 6%인 배지에서 생존율이 높은 경향이었다. In order to establish a mass propagation system of potato planting material, in vitro multiplication of virus-free shoot originated from meristem culture and sucrose concentrations on survival of cutting of the in vitro stem tried with various media containing different levels of MS salts(0.5x, 1x and 2x) and sucrose(1.0, 3.0, 6.0%), and the effects of MS salts elements were evaluated. Higher level of sucrose in the initial culture media favored the shoot growth, that is, both of 1MS and 2MS media containing 6.0% sugar produced stouter shoots. Higher level of sucrose in the subculture media also favored the development of compact stout shoots, but biomass production in terms of fresh weight was high on the media containing 3.0%sucrose, regardless of MS salts concentration. The survival rate of cuttings made of the in vitro stem segments tended to be higher in those obtained from subculture media containg 6.0%sucrose.

        원저 : 집단치료를 통한 비만환자의 체중감량이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향

        연구배경: 집단치료를 받고 있는 비만환자에서 체중 감량을 하였을 때 나타나는 삶의 질 변화를 수량화된 척도로 알아보고자 이 연구를 시행하였다. 방법: 2003년부터 2004년까지 한양대학교 구리병원 내분비내과에서 체중감량 치료 방법에 동의한 9명의 환자를 대상으로 조사하였다. 체중감량의 목표는 첫 내원시 체중의 10%로 정하였다. 건강관련 삶의 질 측정도구(Health-related quality of life instrument)를 치료 시작 전과 후에 측정하였다. 일반적 건강 프로필로서 건강 관련 삶의 질을 측정하는 KSF-36 (Korean Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short Form)을 사용하였다. 결과: 1. 대상환자의 임상적 특성과 비만 치료 전후의 변화 연구대상 환자 9명은 모두 목표 체중감량에 성공하였다. 개별적 특성은, 전원 여성이었고 전체 환자의 평균값은 연령 59.3±2.0세, 신장 160.0±9.1㎝, 체중 70.9±2.0㎏, BMI 28.8±0.9㎏/㎡이었다 (Table 1). 20주간의 식사요법, 운동요법, 약물요법, 행동그룹치료 후 체중 63.6±2.9㎏ (P<0.05), BMI 25.9±1.1 ㎏/㎡ (P<0.05)로 감소하였다. 2. 건강관련 삶의 질 측정 비만환자의 평균 KSF-36 전반적 건강값 (Global)은 49.43±5.25 (38.8~56.4)에서 57.62±8.10 (50.3~65.8)로 수치상의 증가만을 보이나 체부 통증 (bodily pain)이 36.25±21.34 (30~70)에서 33.75±13.03 (20~50)로 (P<0.05), 정신적 건강 (mental health)이 47.50±20.33 (16~84)에서 62.00±10.69 (48~80)으로 (P<0.05)으로 향상되었다. 결론: 집단치료를 받고 있는 비만환자에서 체중 감량을 하였을 때 삶의 질 향상을 가져올 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 앞으로 더 많은 숫자의 환자를 대상으로 한 대규모 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각된다. Background: This study was to exam the effect of weigh reduction after group therapy on the quality of life of patients with obesity. Methods: The participants of this study were 9 women with obesity who visitied the Hanyang University Hospital Obesity Clinic. Data were collected for 2 years from 2003 to 2004. Weight, height, abdominal circumference, and BMI were measured before and after group therapy which consisted of medical and behavior therapy. And also KSF-36 (Korean Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short Form) was used as a Health-related quality of Life instrument. Results: In use of KSF-36, Global score before and after treatment showed no significant change (49.43±5.25 (38.8~56.4) vs 57.62±8.10 (50.3~65.8)) but bodily pain (36.25±21.34 (30~70) vs 33.75±13.03 (20~50), P<0.05) and mental health (47.50±20.33 (16~84) vs 62.00±10.69 (48~80), P<0.05) showed significant changes. Conclusion: According to the result of this study, in group therapy of patients with obesity, weigh reduction improved the quality of Life.
