        國民保健制度 開發에 關한 硏究 : 제2부 학교보건교육의 발전과정과 향후 과제 Part II: Developmental Process and Foremost Tasks of School Health Education

        This study is designed to shed light on the current status of school health education in Korea and identify its problems. The findings of this study among other things pointed out that health education should be awarded the status on an independent subject in a bid to activate school health eudcation and cope with its problems. Thus far efforts focused on the needs for establishing health education as an independent course as well as for enhancing the awareness of its importance. At this stage further efforts are needed to develop in-depth discussions and add greater variety to the curriculum. Firstly efforts should be made to recognize the health status of students at all levels, i.d., from kindergarten through university. Particulary at this stage when the entire society is going through changes in the types of health problems and disease pattern, the outcome of analyses on the types in the types of health problems and health-related behavior can be used as basic data for framing the contents of school health education. Secondly more active efforts are required to single out the contents of health education and develop health curricula assessment based on the findings of surveys on that of health education needs. Thirdly the development of school health education curriculum should be accompanied by that of more effective educational methods and materials. In particular, further efforts should be made to develop educational methods designed to make wider use of audio-visual equipments or apply behavior modification techniques so that school health education will be adapted to changed education environment and the characteristics of health education. Fourthly and most importantly the training and production competent health education teachers is needed. This should be preceeded by the amendment of relevant laws and administrative systems.

      • 발전기 안정화 운전을 위한 PSS 파라미터 선정

        This paper describes the proper selection method of the power system stabilizer(PSS) parameter for stabilizing operation of a synchronous machine which connected to infinite bus by using pole assignment method. The purpose of PSS is to enhance the damping capability at small frequency oscillation (0.5∼2㎐). It can be achieved by moving the real part of critical eigenvalue (pole) on left side of s-plane. The PSS parameter was selected by using the proposed method to match with a pre-assigned pole associated with poorly damped swing mode. This method has been studied to synthesize the PSS on Yong-Gwang N/P. And the simulation results show that the selected parameter by using proposed method is effective for dynamic and transient stability of power system.

        Biologic functions of lysozyme, lactoferrin, alpha l-antitrypsin, and alpha l-antichymotrypsin are concerned with antibacterial defense and inhibition of protease activity. Lysozyme is an enzyme which hydrolyses bacterial cell walls, It is secreted from saliva, tears, and sweat and is contained in glandular secretions. Lactoferrin is an iron-binding protein present in saliva, milk, sweat, urine, and secretions of the respiratory and digestive systems. Alpha 1-AT and alpha 1-ACT, inhibitors of proteinase, are contained in saliva, tears, milk, semen, and bile and in many glandular tissues, including salivary glands, It is suggested that these 4 substances might be involved in local and general defense mechanisms against bacterial and proteolytic enzymes. The present immunohistochemical study identifies lysozyme, lactofemn, alpha 1-AT and alpha-ACT staining in salivary pleomorphic adenoma and compares findings with normal salivary glands and inflammatory salivary glands. The results were as follows : 1) The immunohistochemical localization of lysozyme, lactoferhn, alpha 1-AT and alpha 1-ACT was usually confined to intercalated duct and striated duct in human salivary glands. 2) Positive staining for lactoferrin and lysozyme was confined to acinar cells in inflammatory salivary glands. 3) Immunohistochemical staining for lysozyme, lactoferrin alpha 1-AT and alpha 1-ACT in pleomorphic adenoma was usually present in luminal tumor cells of tubulo-ductal structures, which are of intercalated ductal origin, and was lacking in outer spindle cells of myoepithelial origin. In conclusion, Co-expression or simultaneous expression for lysozyme, lactoferrin, alpha 1-AT, and alpha 1-ACT in pleomorphic adenoma suggest that tumor cells are protected from proteolysis or degradation.

        學校保健制度 開發에 關한 硏究 : 제1부 학생건강관리제도 Part 1: Health Management System of School Children

        To develop new health management system for the school children in korea, we have made a descriptive study in two phases. The first phase was to find out the situation and the problems of current school management system. The second phase was to propose a new system based on the findings through literature review. We found that the health screening examination was carried out inefficiently in many aspects, i.e. procedure, items and methods of screening. We proposed a new health management system which was more efficient, less expensive, and more reliable.

        There is growing evidence that the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is associated with increased risks of psychiatric sequelae. Depression, anxiety, cognitive impairments, sleep disturbance, and fatigue during and after the acute phase of COVID-19 are prevalent, long-lasting, and exerting negative consequences on well-being and imposing a huge burden on healthcare systems and society. This current review presented timely updates of clinical research findings, particularly focusing on the pathogenetic mechanisms underlying the neuropsychiatric sequelae, and identified potential key targets for developing effective treatment strategies for long COVID. In addition, we introduced the Formosa Long COVID Multicenter Study (FOCuS), which aims to apply the inflammation theory to the pathogenesis and the psychosocial and nutrition treatments of post-COVID depression and anxiety.

        Impact of Stress Engineering on the Electron Mobility and the Balistic Current for Strained Si NMOSFETs

        The physical mechanisms of electron mobility and balistic drain curent enhancement by stress are investigated. From modified higher-order k·p band calculations, the stress-induced split of the conduction band edge and the effective mass change are quantitatively evaluated. It was experimentaly and theoreticaly demonstrated that the energy surface of 2-fold valeys in Si NMOSFETs on a (001) wafers is especially warped due to a uniaxial [110] stress, resulting in a lighter transverse effective mass of the 2-fold valleys parallel to the stress. The physical reasons for the warped subband structure and the abnormal mobility enhancement caused by the uniaxial stres are investigated. The rates of variation of the experimental electron mobility in NMOSFETs on wafers with (01) orientations undera <110> uniaxial stress as a function of the channel direction is theoretically studied. The limits of electron mobility enhancement and the effectiveness of stress enginering in enhancing the balistic drain current of NMOSFETs are also discussed.

      • 홍삼 추출물이 감마선에 조사된 생쥐 혈청에서의 효소 활성에 미치는 영향

        홍삼 추출물이 감마선 조사로 인하여 방사선 장해를 받은 생쥐의 효소 활성도 변화에 미치는 회복효과를 관찰하기 위하여 생리적 식염수만을 투여한 생쥐를 대조군으로 하여 홍삼 추출물 투여군, 방사선처리후 생리적 식염수 투여군과 방사선처리 후 홍삼 추출물 투여군으로 분류하여 5Gy의 감마선을 전신조사한 후 즉시 마리당 5.5mg의 홍삼 추출물을 투여하고 1일, 4일, 9일, 17일 및 30일에 혈청에서의 LDH, GOT, GOP, ALP및 ACP의 활성도 변화를 측정 비교하였다. 그 결과 홍삼 추출물만을 투여한 군에서는 GOT, ALP 및 ACP활성은 대조군과 거의 비슷한 경향을 보였으나, LDH의 활성도 변화는 매우 불안정하였으며, 방사선조사 후 생리적 식염수 투여군은 모든 효소에서의 활성이 대조군에 비하여 심한 변동을 보였으나 방사선조사 후 홍삼 추출물 투여군에서는 LDH를 제외한 모든 효소의 활성이 방사선 조사후 생리적 식염수 투여군보다 빠르게 회복됨을 관찰하였다. 이와 같이 방사선 조사 후 홍삼 추출물의 투여는 방사선 피폭으로 야기되는 GOT, GPT, ALP및 ACP의 활성도 변화에 대하여 회복효과가 있음을 나타내었다. The study was undertaken to investigate effects of a single dose of red ginseng extracts on enzymes activities in the serum. The experiments were carried out on wholebody irradiated (5Gy ??) and non-irradiated male ICR mice. In non-irradiated mice, glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase(GOT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and acid phosphatase(ACP) activity were not changed by administration of red ginseng extract, but the activity of lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) activity was changed significantly. In irradiated mice, GOT, glutamate pyruvate transaminase(GPT), LDH, ALP and ACP activities were changed significantly by administration of the saline. But the recovery of GOT, GPT, ALP and ACP activities stimulated by the red ginseng extract was observed earlier than by the treatment of saline. Experimental results suggested that red ginseng extracts have the recovery effect on the changed enzyme activity after radiation injury.

        Antifungal effect and chitinase activities of the froth of spittlebug Poophilus costalis (Walker) (Hemiptera: Cercopoidea: Aphrophoridae)

        Nymphs of xylophagous spittlebug Poophilus costalis (Walker, 1851) produce froth that covers their entire body surface. However, no mold has ever been found on this froth under natural conditions. This study has shown that the froth of P. costalis can repress the growth of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. pisi. Three chitinases, i.e., β-N-acetylglucosaminidase, chitobiosidase, and endochitinase, with specific activities of 1.759, 0.365, and 1.172 U/mg protein, respectively, and a protease with minimal activity have been detected in this froth. β-N-actylglucosaminidase activity was also detected in the source of the froth, the nymphal Malpighian tubules and the host plant Commelina diffusa Burm. f. These findings suggest that the antifungal effect of the froth from P. costalis may be attributed to the chitinase produced by its Malpighian tubules and/or its host plant.

      • Reconfigurable Computing Approach for Tate Pairing Cryptosystems over Binary Fields

        <P>Tate-pairing-based cryptosystems, because of their ability to be used in multiparty identity-based key management schemes, have recently emerged as an alternative to traditional public key cryptosystems. Due to the inherent parallelism of the existing pairing algorithms, high performance can be achieved via hardware realizations. Three schemes for Tate pairing computations have been proposed in the literature: cubic elliptic, binary elliptic, and binary hyperelliptic. In this paper, we propose a new FPGA-based architecture of the Tate-pairing-based computation over binary fields. Even though our field sizes are larger than in the architectures based on cubic elliptic curves or binary hyperelliptic curves with the same security strength, nevertheless fewer multiplications in the underlying field need to be performed. As a result, the computational latency for a pairing computation has been reduced, and our implementation runs 2-20 times faster than the equivalent implementations of other pairing-based schemes at the same level of security strength. Furthermore, we ported our pairing designs for eight field sizes ranging from 239 to 557 bits to the reconfigurable computer, SGI Altix 4700 supported by Silicon Graphics, Inc., and performance and cost are demonstrated.</P>
