        A statistic method was employed through galvano-static experiments in this study of pitting corrosion of SUS 430 stainless steel. When ethylen-diamine (NH_2-CH_2-CH_2-HN_2) as an inhibitor and ferric chloride(FeCl_3) as an aggressive agent are added to corrosive medium, those additives affect on the size, distribution and total number of pits formed. Which can be explained by means of potential barriers at the moment of pits' nucleation. And the largest pit, appeared as a peak in the pits' distribution curve, occupied the majority part of total pits' volume.

        원예작물의 온실 재배에 있어서 안정적인 작물 생산을 위해서는 온도, 광도, 습도, 또는 토양 조건을 최적의 상태로 조절해 주어야 한다. 특히 온실내의 작물재배에 있어서는, 과거의 노지재배와 달리 다양한 규격의 플러그트레이나 포트와 같은 용기안에 인공배양토를 채워 넣고 작물을 식재하고 있기 때문에 환경 조절에 더 많은 관심을 기울여야 한다. 인공 배양토가 이용되는 중요한 원인은 일반 노지 토양은 입자의 크기가 너무 작기 때문이다. 따라서 식물 재배시 배양토안의 O^2나 CO^2의 확산이 억제되며 결과적으로 불건전한 뿌리발달이나 식물생육을 초래하게 된다. 그러므로 입자가 큰 배양토를 적정 비율로 혼합하므로써 토양공기의 확산을 증가시키게 된다. 이러한 배양토의 물리성을 개선하기 위하여 재배농가에서는 피트모쓰, 버미클라이트, 플라이트 또는 다른 배양토의 구성물질을 적정비율로 혼합한다. 이렇게 하므로써 배양토가 적절한 수분 보유력과 공기의 확산 능력을 갖도록한 후, 적당한 양의 비료성분을 공급하여 안정적인 작물생산을 시도하고 있다. 그러나 인공 배양토는 다음과 같은 측면에서 문제점을 안고 있다. 첫째, 배양토의 양이온 치환용량 (CEC)이 부족하여 완충력 (buffering capacity)이 낮기 때문에 식물체가 pH의 변화 또는 무기원소의 결핍과 과다에 쉽게 영향을 받아 안정적인 작물생산에 장해요인이 된다. 둘째 인공배양토는 노지토양에 비해 낮은 무기비료 성분을 함유하고 있다. 이상과 같이 배양토의 화학적인 특성에 기인하는 낮은 완충력때문에 노지 재배에서와는 달리 쉽게 배양토의 pH가 변하며, 무기원소의 과다나 부족에 기인하는 독성이나 결핍증상이 유발된다. 그러므로 pH 및 모든 비료성분의 양을 정확하게 조절하여야 안정적인 작물생육이 가능해지며, 배양토의 물리 또는 화학성을 바탕으로 한 적절한 시비체계의 확립이 온실산업의 성패를 결정짓는 중요한 요인이 될 수 있다. Fertilization systems include liquid fertilization known as fertigation and preplanting fertilization. The fertigation system has problems in heavy leaching of fertilizer solution, increase of labor and amout of fertilizer used, and ground contamination. Preplanting fertilization overcomes the problems in fertigation system. However, when plant develop nutrient deficiency or toxicity symptoms, correcting fertilization is very defficult in preplant fertilization systems because greenhouse substrate has low buffering capacity. Correct adjustment of substrate pH and incorporation of right amount of fertilizers can prevent those problems. In preplant fertilization system dolomite adjust substrate pH and supply Ca and Mg where superphosphate provides for P, Ca, and S. Micronutrient mixes can supply 6 micronutrients in that system. But selection of the amount of fertilizer incorporated into substrate depend on the characteristics of substrate, fertilizer concentration, and cost.

      • 퇴행성 슬관절염 환자의 증상 중증도 지표와 DITI의 상관성 연구

        Objectives : To investigate the applicability of thermography as severity measurement in the patients with osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee. Methods : Data were obtained from 80 patiens with OA of the knee. They were asked to answer two disease-specific questionnaire (Western Ontario and McMaster Universities (WOMAC) OA index, Lequesne's Functional Index (LFI)), one generic instrument (Korean Health Assessment Questionnaire (KHAQ)), VAS in order to assess the severity of disease, quality of life, degree of pain and taken thermography in standardized environment. Results : The thermal difference between ipsilateral side and contralaterla side of lateral aspect of knee was correlated with that of medial aspect of knee, and the thermal difference of anterior thigh was correlated with that of lateral, medial aspect of knee and patella region. Age, duration of disease, duration of morning stiffness, sex, crepitus, and painful side of knee were not correlated with the thermal differences of each region. LFI, WOMAC, WOMAC pain subscale, WOMAC stiffness subscale, WOMAC physical function, KHAQ,, VAS were not correlated with the thermal differences of each region. Conclusion : Further study on the thermography on OA of the knee in population with appropriate severity grade and the standardization of analysis of thermographic data were recommended.

      • 제통단이 퇴행성 슬관절염 환자의 삶의 질에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : to evaluate the effects of Jetongdan, the newly developed herbal medicine, on the quality of life in patients with osteoarthritis of knee Methods : Placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trial on the 80 patients with osteoarthritis of the knee was fulfilled. After enrollment, they took medication as they enrolled. And they were asked to answer the questionnaires (Korean Health Assessment Questionnaire (KHAQ), Lequesne's functional index (LF1), visual analogue scale (VAS)) and analysed with the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) at baseline, after 4 weeks and 8 weeks of medication. Results : Total KHAQ score, some categories of KHAQ like hygiene, activities were significantly improved after 8 weeks of medication. And the change of the KHAQ score was significantly correlated with the change of VAS. But LFI, VAS, ESR level was not significantly improved, and it was considered because of the short medication period and small size of study population. Conclusion : In conclusion, Jetongdan could improve the health-related quality of life in patients with osteoarthritis of knee. Further study in the large population, in long period were recommended.

      • 退行性關節炎 韓方治療에 對한 最近 硏究 動向 : 臨床硏究 方法論을 中心으로 Herbal Medicines in the Treatment of Osteoarthritis in Pubmed and Chinese Medical Journals

        Objective : The aim of this study was to review systemically clinical trials on the effectiveness and safety of herbal medicines in the treatment of osteoarthritis. Methods : Computerized literature searches were carried out on seven electronic databases, and hand-searching on some chinese medical journals in library of Kyung Hee Medical Center. Trial data were extracted in a standardized, predefined manner and assessed independently. Results : 1. Thirty reports of clinical trials and two reports of meta-analyses concerning herbal medicine were collected and reviewed Among these reports three medical herbs were applied as topical medicine and others as internal medicine. 2. The western studies established NSAIDs or placebo as their control group. Five chinese reports established formulated herb pill(Ruanshnagshenjin pill) as their control group and Six did not establish a control group at all. 3. ACR was the most highly used diagnostic criteria in the western studies while the Chinese used their official criteria established by their government or the criteria of their text books. 4. 20 reports chose the Lequesne functional index, SHAQ, WOMAC OA index, AIMS, and their own unique scoring system as the criteria of analysing the effect. Others chose clinical symptoms, articular functions, and lab finding as their criteria. 5. 7 single herbs and 19 formulated herbs were studied. Among the formulated herbs, Achyranthes japonica was studied in 10 of the studies and Angelica gigantis Radix in 8, making them the most often studied herbs among the studies.

      • 퇴행성 슬관절염 환자 평가 설문도구의 내적 신뢰도, 상관성에 관한 연구

        Objective : The aim of this study is to evaluate internal reliability and correlation among assessment instruments of knee OA. Methods : Data were obtained from 85 patients with knee OA. They were asked to answer VAS pain scale, two disease-specific questionnaires (WOMAC and LFI) and one instrument about health-related quality(KHAQ). Reliability was assessed using cronbach's alpha. Correlation was assessed by examining the pearson's correlation coefficients. Results : Cronbach's alpha of all Index except WOMAC stiffness subscale(.6679) exceeded the value of 0.70. A good correlation was obtained between WOMAC Subscale (especially Pain Subscale) and LFI (.726<cronbach's alpha<.791). Also, Correlation between KHAQ and two disease-specific questionnaires (WOMAC and LFI) was good(.612<cronbach's alpha<.662). Conclusions : All used instruments have good internal reliability. also, There are good correlation among them. The treatment of knee OA must be focused on health related quality. For this, we should use proper assessment instruments.

The objective of this paper is to design each components and to construct boom, arm, bucket circuit. These models modeled with AMESim show us change of variables and behavior of excavator. Simulation model will be used for simulator of excavator.

      • 진해 일대 조류의 종 다양성

        본 연구은 진해항 일대의 조류상을 조사ㆍ분석한 것이다. 조사는 2001년 12월부터 2002년 4월까지 28회를 조사하였다. 센서스 기간 중 총 61종의 조류를 조사 지역내에서 관찰할 수 있었으며, 연 55,115개체가 관찰되었다. 종수의 합계와 총 개체수 그리고 종별ㆍ개체별 출현 빈도에서 유도된 종 중요도는 불은부리갈매기[0.58], 괭이갈매기[0.14], 흰죽지[0.12], 고방오리[0.07], 민물도요[0.07], 참새[0.06], 재갈매기[0.06]가 중요한 종으로 나타났다. 월별 최대 관찰 개체수는 2001년 12월에 46종 5,993개체를 관찰하였으며, 2002년 1월에 37종 7,105개체, 2월에 37종 8,837개체, 3월에 38종 4,106개체, 그리고 4월에 32종 2,819개체를 관찰하였다. 종 풍부도는 4월에 가장 높게 나타났으며, 종 다양성과 균등도는 1월이 가장 높게 나타났다. 월별 종의 유ㆍ무와 개체수를 비교하여 양방향 유사도를 분석한 결과 2월과 3월의 조류 군집이 유사한(0.69: Pearson Correlation Index) 것으로 나타났고, 다음으로 1월(0.617), 12월(0.522)로 12, 1, 2, 3월이 하나의 cluster를 형성하고 있었으며, 4월이 틀린 cluster를 형성하고 있다. 수금류, 섭금류, 갈매기류, 참새류 등 4가지 중요 군집으로 구분하여 개체수를 비교한 결과 66%가 붉은부리갈매기 외 3종의 갈매기류였고, 21%가 혹부리오리 외 13종의 수금류, 7%가 붉은머리오목눈이 외 21종의 참새목, 5%가 흰물떼새 외 5종의 섭금류, 1%미만의 맹금류, 논병아리류, 가마우지류의 조류로 나타났다. We investigated the abundance and local distribution of birds, in four areas of the jinhae. Data were collected from four areas in the jinhae from 2001 to 2002. In this study, 55115 individual birds of 80 species were censused. We evaluated important species with abundance of birds were as follows: Black-headed Gull[0.58], Black-tailed Gull[0.14], Pochard[0.12], Pintail[0.07], Dunlin[0.07], Tree Sparrow[0.06], and Herring Gull[0.06]. The number of species and individuals in each month were recorded as follows: 5993 individual birds of 46 species in December(2001), 7105 individual birds of 37 species in January(2002), 8837 individual birds of 37 species in February, 4106 individual birds of 38 species in March, 2819 individual birds of 32 species in April. In study period, the april was the highset richness(R' =0.60) and the January was the highest diversity(H'=2.08) and evenness(E5=0.52) with an expected species number of E[S_(818)]=29. Pairwise similarity declined with increasing distance between recording month and recording month from two different clustered separately in a UPGMA cluster tree. Comparison of population variable at 4 sites of 4 classes was compared as follows: 1.Gull(66%), 2. Waterfowl(21%), 3. Passerine(7%), and 4. Wader(5%).

        Chemical Modification of Bovine Brain Succinic Semialdehyde Reductase by Diethylpyrocarbonate

        The NADPH-dependent succinic semialdehyde reductase is one of the key enzymes in the brain GABA shunt, and it catalyzes the formation of the neuromodulator γ-hydroxybutyrate from succinic semialdehyde. This enzyme was inactivated by diethylpyrocarbonate (DEP) with the second-order rate constant of 1.1×10³ M-¹min-¹ at pH 7.0, 25℃, showing a concomitant increase in absorbance at 242 nm due to the formation of N-carbethoxyhistidyl derivatives. Complete inactivation of succinic semialdehyde reductase required the modification of five histidyl residues per molecule of enzyme. However, only one residue was calculated to be essential for enzyme activity by a statistical analysis of the residual enzyme activity. The inactivation of the enzyme by DEP was prevented by preincubation of the enzyme with the coenzyme NADPH but not with the substrate succinic semialdehyde. These results suggest that an essential histidyl residue involved in the catalytic activity is located at or near the coenzyme binding site of the brain succinic semialdehyde reductase.
