Nanocomposites are used as a new class of polymer system and many researchers have been interested in the clay nanocomposite because of its good mechanical properties, heat resistance, flame retardancy, and barrier property. Modified layered silicates as fillers are dispersed at a nanometer -level within a polymer matrix and then new extraordinary properties are observed. In this study, Polypropylene/clay nanocomposites were prepared in a twin screw extruder by the melt compounding method. In order to increase the compatibility of PP with the clay, the MAPP (MA=2.6%, Mw=49,600), was used as a compatibilizer. And organic modified clays were used as a nanometric filler during the melt extrusion. Through the analysis of SAXS, WAXS, the dispersion of clay was investigated. These nanocomposites compared with a neat Polypropylene/talc composite have high modulus, low toughness, and reduced shrinkage at the stable dispersion.

An experimental investigation has been carried out to determine the effect of age hard-ening on the fatigue crack propagation behavior and mechanical properties using Al 7075 alloy hot extruded. Fatigue and mechanical property tests have been performed with the specimens prepared in various age hardening heat treatment conditions. Analysis of the experimental results was made to determine the relationship between Δ K_th, yield strength, % elongation and ageing temperature and time.

2-Alkoxy-4-acetamidobenzthioamide was synthesized by reaction of hydrogen sulfide with 2-alkoxy-4-acetamidobenzonitrile which was dehydrated from 2-alkoxy-4-acetamidobenzamide by thionyl chloride or phosphorus pentoxide. 2-Alkoxy-4-acetamidobenzthioamide was obtained by hydrolysis of 2-Alkoxy-4-acetamidobenzthioamide with 10% hydrochloric acid solution.
구강편평세포암종의 유세포분석적 DNA측정을 위한 이중 매개변수법의 적용

A series of 31 patients with primary oral squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) who were treated at Chonbuk National university Hospital during the years 1991-1995,were evaluated by dual parameter analysis in flow cytometric DNA measurement,Bryne's malignancy grading system,and the TNM classification.The aims of the present study were to discover that previously undetected aneuploid clones could be detected by dual parameter analysis and to determine the prognostic value of the above parameters. 1.Using dual parameter analysis of cytokenratin and DNA on disintegrated paraffin-embedded samples,aneuploid clones which were undetected by regular single parameter DNA analysis could be found among the cytokenratin-selected cells. DNA aneuploidy from parafin-embedded samples were 15 cases compared with 10 cases using conventional DNA analysis. 2.The portion of aneuploid tumors showed slightly higher clinical stage tumor size than the portion of diploid tumors, but the difference was not significant.The portion of DNA aneuploid tumors showed significantly higher mean mitosis and total malignancy scores than the portion of DNA diploid tumors. 3.The majority of the patients presented with clinical stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ lesions showed showed significantly higher mean total malignancy scores as compared to those with clinical stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ. 4.Histopatholgic mean total malignancy score of the 31 cases was 12.7.Among the histologic parameters,mean mitosis score was correlated to the status of DNA ploidy and total malignancy score were correlated to the DNA ploidy and clinical staging.
범량질 복합레진 수복시 접착부의 피로파괴에 관한 실험적 연구

This study was to evaluate the fatigue characteristics of composite bond to enamel surface and the effect of thermocycling on changes of bond strength and hardness of prisma AP.H. and Z100. Fatigue life was measured using the electro-magnetic type fatigue machine and the thermocycling test was conducted on the condition of 15 second dwell time each in 5。c and 55。c bath. The results obtained were summarized as follow: 1. Linear regression analysis between the stress level and the fatigue life was high negative correlation. 2. The fatigue characteristic of composite bond of Z100 was superior to Prisma AP.H. when a cyclic flexure stress was applied. 3. Tensile bond strengths were 174.26±72.98㎏/㎠ at Prisma AP.H.and 175.76±59.07㎏/㎠ at\100, and didn’t show a significant difference. The degradation of bond strength of Z100 was larger than that of Prisma AP.H. after 250 and 500 cycles. 4. Knoop hardness numbers were 52.70±1.73㎏/㎟ at Prisma AP.H. and 94.54±3.21㎏/㎟ at Z100, and showed a significant difference (p<0.01) 5. In the surface layer, cracks and micropores were observed after thermocycling.

This paper deals with the study on the cutting characteristics in ball endmilling process. First of all, the effects of the geometric cutting conditions such as the cutting conditions such as the cutting speed, feedrates and the path interval on the surface integrity were evaluated by the analytical and the experimental approaches. Secondly, the cutting mechanism model was developed to predict the cutting mechanism model was developed to predict the cutting force accurately. Prediction of cutting force make it possible to predict the shape error, estimate system stability and build the reliable adaptive control system. A large amount of experimental set are performed to show the validities of the proposed theories and to investigate the effect of cutting geometry such as rubbing effects, burr effects and etc.

This report studied 31 male patients who were in one hospital in Kwangju or came to a prosthesis clinic and are 15 normal control group to analyze the gait characteristics according to the stump length in the prosthesis users with the unilateral below-knee amputations. The patient group was divided into a short stump subgroup of 13 patients and a long stump subgroup of 18 patients according to the stump length, the control group was randomly sampled from 15 males who have similar age, height and weight to the experimental group. The results of analysis are summarized as follows. 1. There were no significant statistical differences of the general characteristics between patient and control groups and there was no difference of characteristics by patient groups except the mean gait distance a day. 2. Of 33 patients with amputation, 18 patients (57.8%) had phantom pain and 25 cases (80.6%) had neuroma. 3. Gait velocity, stride length of the affected side, step length of the sound side and base support among gait characteristics show a significant difference according to the stump length in the state excluding the effects of other factors (p<05) and the group with long stump showed closer gait characteristics to normal persons than those with short stumps. In conclusion, among the patients of unilateral below-knee amputations, the stump length affects the gait characteristics such as gait velocity, stride length, step and base of support and it is found that as the stump length gets longer, it shows the similar characteristics to gait characteristics of normal persons and long unilateral below-knee amputation can secure better gait characteristics.
