Abstracts-A effective and new approach to development of impressive methodology for the synthesis of carbocyclic ring system was investigated. It is sequential cationic cycliazationpinacol rearrangement of acetal-allenic derivatives. In order to investigate the acid-catalyzed rearrangement, aldehyde and ketone derivatives with acetal as electrophile were first prepared. And the allenes were synthesized by Yamamoto procedure. Carvocyclic rings were formed by cyclization-pinacol rearrangement from allenes under Lewis acid in pressence of excess trimethylsily trifluoromethane sulfonate.
수종척추동물의 LDH isozyme에 대한 비교생화학적 연구

Lactate dehydrogenase isozymes in heart, kidney, liver and skeletal muscle of 15 species of vertebrate animals belonging to 5 classes were separated by cellulose acetate electrophoresis and the levels of them were measured and compared with each other. Lactate dehydrogenase isozyme patterns were different from each other among animal species and among tissues. The activity of LDH$_{5}$ was superior in anaerobic tissues such as liver and skeletal muscle, and the activity of LDH$_{1}$ was superior in aerobic tissues such as heart and kidney. The level of LDH of vertebrate animals of the 5 classes has found approximatry increasing in the following order: Pisces>Amphibia>Reptelia<Aves<Mammalia.

Abstracts-Prostaglandins exhibit diverse pharmacological properties and are now recognized as local hormones that control a multitude of important physiological process. (R)-4-hydroxy-2-cyclope-ntenone is a very useful intermediate to synthesize the prostaglandin derivatives. The optically active cyclopentenone building blocks were synthesized in various ways ; by resoultion of the racemic hydroxy ketone ; by preparation from chiral natural products via resolved synthetic intermediates, by asymmetric synthesis, by microbial or enzymatic techniques, etc. The hydroxy ketone can be produced by preparation from chiral building block via microbial organisms. The key chiral building block is dimethyl-5-hydroxy-4R-hydroxy-2-oxopentane phosphate which can be synthesized the optically active cyclpentenone via Horner Emmon reaction. This paper describes the preparation of the chiral diol compound 2 in detail.

Abstract-Ulcers are believed to result from an imbalance between the aggressive (acid, pepsin) and defensive forces (bicarbonate, mucous) in the stomach and duodenum. This imbalance can be restored by reducing the secretion of acid from gastric parietal cells. These mechanisms include inhibition of acid secretion by histamine H_2-receptor antagonists, H^+/K^+-ATPase (proton pump) inhibitors, anticholinergics, gastrin antagonists and prostaglandins. However, anticholinergics and prostaglandins were not selective in the action and side effects limited their clinical application. Therefore, most effective therapies are generally histamine H_2-antagonists and H^+/K^+-ATPase inhibitors. Here, these two groups are medicinal chemically reviewed.
Insulin이 흰쥐의 LDH Isozyme에 미치는 영향

A series of experimental groups has been studied in the state of hypolycemia caused by a single intraperitoneal injection of insulin after 24 hrs of fasting albino rats and then the variation of LDH activities and LDH isozyme patterns in the liver, muscle and serum had been reported. The total LDH activity has been elevated in the liver and the muscle above the average level for control group, but increased continusly during 20 min and decreased in the 20-45 min intervals and increased again 45 min in the serum. The change of LDH isozyme patterns had been shown that in the liver LDH$_{5}$ was increased, LDH$_{4}$ was decreased and in the muscle LDH$_{1}$ was diminished by 30 min ws restored again after 45 min and LDH$_{2}$ decreased about 94 percentage at 30 min, decreased by 45 min and increased greater again after 45 min and in the muscle LDH$_{3}$, LDH$_{4}$, and LDH$_{5}$ were increased to the greatest by 20 min, decreased in 20-45 min intervals and increased again after 45 min.

Melandrin, as a possible phytoalexin, which is expected to have the various pharmacological activities; antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral activity, was isolated in 1987 by Woo from Melandrin firmum (Caryophyllaceae). The synthesis of melandrin derivatives has been accomplished by the reaction of 5-hydroxy anthranilic acid ethyl ester with acid chlorides and then by hydrolysis of ethyl ester.

The synthetic detergent residuals in Han River were determined at seven areas near Seoul, in the drought season, Juley, in the rainy season, August and winter, November 1972. At the survey in July, 2 areas, Chung Gae River area and An Yang River area, were found to contain above 0.5ppm of synthetic detergents residuals. The other 4 areas, Duck So, Dukk Do, Bo Guang Dong, Ma Pho and Nan Ji Islet area, were less than 0.5ppm. In August, all seven areas were found to contain below 0.5ppm. In November, 4 areas, Chung Gae River, An Yang River, Ma Pho and Nan Ji Islet area were found to contain above 0.5ppm of synthetic detergent residuals, and 2 areas, Duck So and Dukk Do area were below 0.5ppm.
