We report here on a case of genetically confirmed type Ia glycogen storage disease (GSD) that was diagnosed in the military hospital. A twenty-year old soldier was admitted to the hospital with abdominal fullness. He had a past medical history of hepatomegaly that was firstly recognized at six months after birth, and he had been followed-up at an outpatient clinic with the presumptive diagnosis of type III GSD. He also had a history of growth hormone therapy because of growth retardation. However, he arbitrarily refused medical observation from 14 years of age. On the physical examination, the height of the patient was 163.1 cm and significant hepatomegaly was observed. Significantly abnormal liver-associated paramters were observed on the laboratory findings and multiple hepatic adenomas were observed on the CT exam and MRI scan. To determine the proper treatment, we tried to confirm the exact type of GSD in the patient. By mutational analysis, we found the c.648G>T homozygote splicing mutation in the G6PC gene and the patient was confirmed as having the type Ia GSD.

During radiation therapy, the irradiated position and the energy deposited in a patient must bemonitored. In general, calculations before photon exposure or 2D measurements of the transmittedphotons have been widely used for making dose estimates. In this paper, we propose a real-time 3Ddose measurement using Compton imaging technology. On the basis of the Monte-Carlo method,we designed a multiple-scattering Compton camera system (MSCC) with semiconductor and scintillationdetectors. The MSCC was constructed with two semiconductor detectors as scatteringdetectors and a cadmium-tungstate (CWO) scintillator detector as an absorber detector. The twoplanar semiconductor arrays, and the CWO array consisted of 40 × 40 pixels, each with a size of 1× 1 × " mm3, where " is the variable thickness of the detectors. The design parameters, such asthe types of semiconductors, detector thicknesses and distances between detectors, were optimizedon the basis of the detection efficiency and angular resolution of reconstructed images for a pointsource. Under the optimized conditions, uncertainty factors in geometry and energy were estimatedfor various inter-detector distances. We used a source corresponding to photons scattered from awater phantom exposed to 6-MeV peak X-rays. According to our simulation results, the figure ofmerit, reached its maximum value when the inter-detector distance was 3 cm. In order to achievea high FOM, we chose 1 cm as the optimum thickness for the scattering and absorbed detectors. A cadmium-zinc-telluride (CZT) detector showed the best performance among the simulated semiconductors. The position uncertainty caused by the pixelization effect was the major factor indegrading the angular resolution of the reconstructed images, and the degradation caused by energybroadening was less than expected. The angular uncertainties caused by Doppler broadeningand incorrect sequencing were minimal compared with that of pixelization. Our simulation showedthe feasibility of using the semiconductor-based Compton camera to monitor the exposed dose in3D radiation therapy.

We developed a compact gamma camera based on a modified uniformly redundant array coded apertureto investigate the position of a UO2 pellet emitting characteristic X-rays (98.4 keV) and g-rays(185.7 keV). Experiments using an only-mask method and an antimask subtractive method were conducted,and the maximum-likelihood expectation maximization algorithm was used for image reconstruction. The images obtained via the antimask subtractive method were compared with those obtainedusing the only-mask method with regard to the signal-to-noise ratio. The reconstructed images of theantimask subtractive method were superior. The reconstructed images of the characteristic X-rays andthe g-rays were combined with the obtained image using the optical camera. The combined imagesshowed the precise position of the UO2 pellet. According to the self-absorption ratios of the nuclearmaterial and the minimum number of effective events for image reconstruction, we estimated theminimum detection time depending on the amount of nuclear material.

Home network system makes it available for controlling inside home and for controlling from outside as well with personal computer, cellular phone or smart phone, by connecting diverse information equipments within home such as lighting, gas, and heating equipments with network. Integrated server and wall-pad, which form home network system, have demerits as saying of being high-priced and of needing to implement network infrastructure. This study suggested the intelligent home network system, which uses smart phone of supplementing these merits of home network system. It substituted high-specification input & output equipment in the currently and widely supplied smart phone for display and touch screen, which are user interface part of the existing wall-pad, and implemented the common wall-pad with low cost by concentrating management and control function of home network on smart phone. 홈 네트워크 시스템은 조명, 가스, 난방 기기 등 가정 내의 다양한 정보기기들을 네트워크로 연결하여 집안내부에서 제어하고 휴대폰 또는 스마트 폰 그리고 개인용 컴퓨터로 외부에서 제어할 수 있다. 홈 네트워크 시스템을 구성하는 통합 서버와 월 패드는 고가이고 네트워크 인프라를 구축하여야 하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 홈 네트워크의 단점을 보완하는 스마트 폰을 이용한 지능형 홈 네트워크 시스템을 제안하였다. 현재 널리 보급된 스마트 폰은 고 사양 입출력 장치로 기존 월 패드의 사용자 인터페이스 부분인 디스플레이와 터치스크린을 대체하고, 홈 네트워크의 관리 및 제어 기능을 스마트 폰에 집중함으로써 저비용으로 보급형 월패드를 구현하였다.

최근 스마트폰 어플리케이션 개발이 많아지고 있고, 많은 어플리케이션들은 인터넷 사이트의 정보를 재가공하여 제공하고 있다. 어플리케이션이 재가공하는 데이터의 성격에 따른 적절한 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 요구 사항을 해결하기 위하여 스마트폰에서 어플리케이션 개발시 무선 네트워크가 가지고 있는 제약사항, 하드웨어의 성능이 낮고 지원되는 장치에 한계, 기존의 웹을 스마트폰에서 접근할때 발생되는 문제점을 도출하고 이와 같은 문제점을 고려하여 스마트폰 어플리케이션을 개발하기 위해 실시간 방식, 캐시 방식, 정적 방식의 3가지 개발 방법을 제안한다. Recently, development of app for smartphone is much and many apps provide information by reproduced with achieved information from internet site. There is a need of method dependent on reproduced data by app. For solving these requirements, this paper first identifies problems such as lower hardware performance and limited bandwidth when legacy web pages are accessed by smart phones. This paper suggests three methods, "real time," "cache," and "static" to develop application programs for smart phones by considering identified problems.

Gil-Joon Yu(1856-1914)was born at kiey-dong, Seoul as the second son to Jin-Soo Yu. As a boy he was given the conventional education by his father, who sent him to Hyu-Soo Park for further study at his age of seventeen. Later, he went over to japan and United States of America to completer his study. he was taken into custody for seven years for no other reason than he was a member of the Kaiwha party, which might be called a sort of the Liberal Party. During the term he made complete his "Seu Yu Kyun Moon" (Things Occidental). In 1896 the removal to the Russian Embassy compelled the clllapse of the Liberal Cabinet, which exiled him in Japan for eleven years. After the exile, he dedicated himself to the social reformation until he ended his life full of vicissitudes as the age of fifty nine in 1914. To sum up his major ideas of physical education: 1. he advised the hygienic way of life, such as satisfactory food, clothing and housing and fresh water to drink. 2. He emphasized the regular life. 3. He established the view of games and recreation to the effect that all work and no play makes a man dull and unhealthy, and that games are instinctive activities. 4. he put a high value on the necessity of reforming living and on the importance of sanitary facilities. 5. A strong emphasis was laid on the importance of exercise without which one would have weak bodies leading to various deseases. He classified exercises and explained their effects. Thus, Gil-Joon Yu contribute not only to the improvement of exercises, games and recreation with the firsthand knowledge about the progressive and scientific way of wastern life, but also to the illumination of the Korean people in those years in the way a redical change would be made for the reformation of their unscientific idea of hygienics and for the betterment of their way of life, sanitation and environments.
