The purpose of this study was to identify the mediating effect of multicultural attitudes between intercultural sensitivity and multicultural teaching efficacy among early childhood teachers. To investigate intercultural sensitivity, multicultural attitudes, and multicultural teaching efficacy among early childhood teachers, the present study was conducted with a total of 288 teachers who work as lead teachers in various forms of early childhood educational or child-care institutions located in Gyeonggi-do. For the analysis of collected data, the study conducted correlation analysis, simple linear regression and multiple regression analysis. This study found that multicultural attitudes had a statistically significant mediating effect between intercultural sensitivity and multicultural teaching efficacy and multicultural teaching efficacy subtypes among early childhood teachers.

This research studied qualitatively what daily lives of art teachers who teach autistic children influence them in elementary school. Three teachers participated in the study, and ethnographic research was performed through in-depth interviews, observation, the collection of class data, etc. The participants were regarded as angels, but also viewed to have made poor career choices due to widespread prejudice. In the early stages, they undertook their work with fear because they became distressed when they observed there exceptional children being rejected by parents, schools, teachers, and friends. Additionally, they encountered barriers that stem from the conglomeration of the problems of bullying, harassment, negligence, and poor learning, which are often not exposed but remain hidden. This is despite the positive effects demonstrated by the integration of the children into the general education system. However, general teachers and special-education teachers often do not understand each other. The research participants embrace autistic children, confirming their confidence and positive social role. They acknowledge difference and deficiency in autistic children, and they accept the problems that appeared. The research participants have sought to treat children with them as humans that are equivalent to themselves. While going through what was a hard process, the research participants dismissed the concerns regarding exceptional children and art education. They feel they have become more considerate and warm as teachers, and they are happy to listen to the autistic children and take care of them. Furthermore, the research participants have realized that art is valuable and precious in their own lives, as well as being fruitful in helping autistic children, who look forward to art class and are being immersed in artwork.
