        식용색소에 의한 CEROMER 수복물의 색안정성

        Statement of problem : Ceramic and composite resin have been used to fulfill the demand for esthetic prosthesis. However, ceramic is easy to break and wears off the opposite natural teeth. Conventional composite resin also has low abrasive resistance and color stability. Ceramic Optimized Polymer (ceromer) was developed in mid-1990s to overcome the shortfalls of ceramic and composite resin. Ceromer has similar abrasiveness with the natural tooth and has relatively high strength. Color stability affects esthetics and long-term prognosis of the prosthesis. Purpose The purpose of this study was to compare color stability of ceromers(2 types : $Artglass^{(R)}$. $Targis^{(R)}$) with ceramics ($Vintage^{(R)}$-polishing, $Vintage^{(R)}$-glazing). Material and Method : The color difference(${\Delta}E^*$) was measured by spectrophotometer with different immersion time. Twenty disks, 3mm in thickness and 10mm in diameter, were fabricated for each specimen in shade A2(Vita Lumin shade guide), Specimens (5 samples in each group) were immersed in the food colorants (Red no.3. Yellow no.4, Blue no.1, Distilled water) for 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours respectively. $L^*,\;a^*$ and $b^*$ value were measured with spectrophotometer (CM 503i : Minolta Co., Japan) and mean ${\Delta}E^*$ value was calculated for statistical analysis Results : The results of this study were obtained as follows. 1. The ${\Delta}E^*$ values of all test samples increased with the time of immersion. 2. The ${\Delta}E^*$ values of all materials increased in order of Distilled Water, Yellow no.4, Blue no.1 and fed no.3. There was significant difference between Red no.3 and the other food colorants(p<0.05). 3. The ${\Delta}E^*$ values increased in order of $Vintage^{(R)}$-glazing, $Vintage^{(R)}$-polishing. $Artglass^{(R)}$ and $Targis^{(R)}$. There was significant difference between $Vintage^{(R)}$-glazing and the other materials (p<0.05). Conclusion : By means of the above results, immersion time was found to be a critical factor for color stability of ceromer. For the long-term color stability of prosthesis it is recommended patients having ceromer prosthesis ($Artglass^{(R)},\;Targis^{(R)}$) to reduce the habitual intake of Red no.3 colorants con taming foods.

        통합 의학 치료로 5년 생존 및 완전 관해에 도달한 췌장암 증례 보고 1례

        Objectives: This is a five-year survival and complete response (CR) report on pancreatic cancer treated with western medicine and Korean traditional medicine. Method: A 59-year-old woman diagnosed with pancreatic cancer visited ○○ Korean traditional medicine hospital after neoadjuvant chemotherapy and pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy. She was treated with Korean traditional medicine, including acupuncture, abdominal moxibustion, wild ginseng pharmacopuncture, and herbal medicine, which was based on integrated medicine therapy (IMT), from March 2018 to September 2022. The tumor size was measured by scanning with computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging, and positron-emission tomography/CT. Adverse events were evaluated using laboratory conclusion and National Cancer Institute Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events version 5.0. Result: During four years and three months of treatment, IMT maintained safety. The patient finally reached five-year survival without any recurrence or complication (CR) on October 26, 2022. Conclusion: We suggest that an integrative approach including Korean traditional medicine can be a meaningful treatment option for pancreatic cancer. Further studies should be performed to establish the proper treatment protocol of integrative medicine for pancreatic cancer.

        소아 종양 환아의 중추 신경계 합병증

        목 적 : 소아의 악성 종양에 대한 새로운 치료법의 개발로 환아의 생존 기간이 증가하는 추세에 있으나 이로 인한 신경계 합병증의 발생도 증가하고 있다. 저자들은 항암 치료를 시행한 소아 종양 환아에서 나타난 중추 신경계 합병증에 대한 임상 양상을 알아보고자 하였다. 방 법 : 1995년 1월부터 2002년 11월까지 동산병원 소아과에서 항암치료를 시행한 환아 중 신경계 합병증이 동반되었던 15례의 환아를 대상으로 그 임상상을 후향적으로 검토하였다. 결 과 : 전체 15례 중에서 방사선학적 검사로 원인 질환을 밝힌 경우는 모두 13례로 백질뇌병증이 7례, 무기질화 미세혈관병증이 4례, 뇌경색이 3례, 뇌출혈이 1례, 저산소성 허혈성 뇌증이 1례, 2가지 이상의 합병증을 함께 나타낸 경우는 2례였으며, 혈액학적 방사선학적 검사상에서 이상 소견이 없이 MTX의 부작용으로 생각되는 경련성 질환이 2례였다. 뇌출혈과 뇌경색이 나타낸 경우는 예후가 나빴으며 전해질 불균형으로 인한 저산소성 허혈성 뇌증에서는 원인 교정 후 후유증 없이 회복되었다. 결 론 : 소아 종양 환아에서 치료 중 발생한 신경계 합병증은 질환의 예후에 큰 영향을 미치고 신경인지 발달에 장애를 남기므로 이들 합병증에 대한 예방, 진단 및 즉각적인 치료와 추적관찰이 필요할 것이다. Purpose : Recent advances in the methods of treating cancer in young patients have led to both an increased frequency of CNS complications as well as prolonged life expectancy. We intend to analyze the clinical aspects and laboratory findings of patients with CNS complications during and after treatment. Methods : We reviewed the medical records of 174 childhood cancer patients treated with chemotherapy admitted to the Dept. of Pediatrics, Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital, from January 1995 to November 2002. Among them, 15 cases with CNS complications were investigated in this study. Results : CNS abnormalities were found in 13 patients by CT or MRI during treatment such as leukoencephalopathy(n=7), mineralizing microangiopathy(n=4), brain infarction(n=3), intracranial hemorrhage(n=1), and hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(n=1). It was found that two patients had two or more CNS abnormalities. Two patients who had no imaging abnormalities had convulsions, possibly after the addition of intrathecal methotrexate. The patients with intracranial hemorrhage and brain infarction had rapid and fatal clinical courses. The hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy following electrolyte imbalance completely recovered after correction of electrolyte. Conclusion : The CNS complications that occur during and after chemotherapy influence prognoses significantly, and remain neurologic sequelae. Therefore early diagnosis and prophylaxis for CNS complications and regular physical examination of patients who have recieved cancer therapy are strongly recommended.

      • Nitrogen Catabolite Repression of Asparaginase II in Saccharomyces cerevisiae: I. Secretion and Purification of Asparaginase II from Yeast Spheroplasts

        효모의 질소대사에 관여하는 asparaginase II의 분비와 Nitrogen Catabolite Repression(NCR)의 조절작용을 효모 스페로플라스트를 이용하여 조사하였다. 즉 효모 스페로플라스트에서도 배지에 질소원이 부족하면 asparaginase II 생성의 억제가 제거되고, 그 억제의 제거에 필요한 시간과 효소의 생성량도 정상 효모 세포와 유사한 양상을 나타내었다. 또한 스페로플라스트에 의한 효모의 생성이 정상 세포와 동일하게 NCR의 조절기작에 의해 이루어짐이 밝혀졌다. 아울러 이 시스템을 이용하여 asparaginase II를 용이하게 정제할 수 있었으며, SDS-PAGE에서 정상세포와 동일한 두 개의 단백질 밴드를 얻었다. We have studied the synthesis and secretion of the exoenzyme asparaginase II by yeast spheroplasts. When spheroplasts are starved for nitrogen they derepress the synthesis of asparaginase II. The time course of the derepression and the level of enzyme synthesis were comparable for spheroplast and whole cell cultures. Furthermore, spheroplast enzyme synthesis was as sensitive to nitrogen catabolite repression as was synthesis by whole cells. We have used the purification procedure in the spheroplast to show that two protein components resolved by SDS gel electrophoresis are associated with asparaginase II.

        수중 환경에서 효율적인 무선 통신을 위한 매체접근제어 메커니즘

        수중과 같은 에러의 변동이 크고 무선 통신에 제약이 따르는 환경에서 데이터 전송을 실행하게 되는 경우에는 상당히 심각한 지연율과 에러 발생률을 고려하지 않을 수 없다. 따라서 이러한 환경에서 사용되는 메커니즘은 가능한 한 효율적이면서 간단해야만 한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 Pervasive Block ACK(PBA) 기법은 각 프레임마다 전송되던 ACK를 Set 단위로 묶어서 한꺼번에 보내주는 방법으로, 수중 등 열악한 환경에서 ACK 전송으로 인해 발생하는 트래픽 발생빈도 감소를 위해 제안되었다. Pervasive Block ACK 기법은 전송 횟수를 최소로 줄임으로써 오버헤드를 감소시켜 네트워크의 효율성을 높여 지연율은 줄일 뿐만 아니라 그에 부가적으로 전력 소비 절감의 효과까지도 기대할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 Numerical Result를 통하여 제안에 관한 효율성 및 연구 가치를 증명하였다. Data transmission in poor environment like underwater has considerably serious delay rate and ewer rate. Like this environment usually has heavy fluctuation of error rate and limited wireless communication state. Therefore, mechanism using in such environment has to be efficient and simple. This paper suggests a new block ack mechanism, called the Pervasive Block ACK (PBA), which transmits aggregated ACKs. This mechanism takes effect on reducing number of traffic, decreasing overhead and delay rate in poor environment networks like underwater. Additionally, we can expect energy consumption. We verify propriety and efficiency of PBA through describing numerical result based analytical formula in this paper.

        신경모세포종 환아에서 레티노익산 치료 중 발생한 급성 췌장염 1례

        신경모세포종 환아에서 레티노익산 치료 중 급성 췌장염이 합병되어 사망한 1례를 경험하여 보고하는 바이다. 레티노익산을 사용하는 환아에서 췌장염을 예방하기 위해서는 지속적인 혈중 지방 수치 추적이 필요할 것으로 생각되고 치료 중 호전을 보이더라도 지속적인 감시와 관찰이 필요할 것으로 생각된다. Retinoic acid has been used successfully as a differentiating agent in acute promyelocytic leukemia and neuroblastoma. However, some adverse effects have been recognized, such as headaches, dry skin and retinoic acid syndrome, a life threatening acute cardiorespiratory disorder. Acute pancreatitis with hyperlipidemia has rarely been reported. We experienced a case of acute pancreatitis with hyperlipidemia in a neuroblastoma patient after retinoic acid therapy for 21 months. Although the patient was ordered nothing by mouth and total parenteral nutrition was administrated, she died of disseminated intravascular coagulopathy and pulmonary hemorrhage, possibly because of oral intake during her recovery period.

        병원균 및 생물독소 탐지시스템을 위한 원자외선 LED 기술동향

        The humans are under attack involving the hazardous environment and pathogen/biotoxin aerosol that is realistic concerned. A portable, fast, reliable, and cheap Pathogen and Biotoxin Aerosol threat Detection(PBAD) trigger is an important technology for detect-to-protect and detect-to-treat system because the man-made biological terror is a fast and lethal infection. The ultraviolet C(UVC) wavelengths light source is key issue for PBAD that is sensitive because of strong fluorescence cross section from fluorescent amino acids in proteins such as tryptophan and tyrosine. The UVC-light emitting diode(LED) is emerging light source technology as alternative to laser or lamps as they offer several advantages. This paper discussed about the design consideration of UVC-LED for the PBAD system. The UVC-LED and PBAD technology, currently available or in development, are also discussed.

        강우 지속성과 산사태 발생 빈도의 연관성에 관한 연구

        본 연구에서는 2011년부터 2020년까지의 연구지역에서 발생한 산사태와 강우 요인들을 통해 강우 지속성과 산사태 발생 빈도의 연관성을 분석하였다. 연구지역은 강원도, 경기도, 경상남도, 경상북도, 전라남도, 전라북도, 충청남도의 총 7개 지역이며 분석에 활용한 강우 요인은 6월, 7월, 8월의 월 강우량과 여름기간(6~8월) 강우량, 장마기간 강우량, 여름기간 강수일수, 장마기간 강수일수이다. 연구지역별로 산사태 발생이 많았던 해의 강우 요인을 비교 · 분석하여 강우 지속성이 산사태 발생에 미치는 영향을 파악하였다. 연구결과 강우량뿐만 아니라 장마기간 강수일수도 산사태 발생에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었으며, 2020년의 산사태 발생 급증은 2020년의 장마기간 강수일수가 많은 것에서 기인한 것으로 추정되었다. 이러한 결과는 추후 강우 지속성의 영향을 고려한 산사태 경보 기준의 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. Increasing incidences of landslides in Korea are endangering life and damaging property. To ascertain the cause of the rapid increase in landslides in 2020, this study analyzed the correlation between frequency of their occurrence and persistence of rainfall. The study area comprised seven areas in Gangwon-do, Gyeonggi-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Jeollanam-do, Jeollabuk-do, and Chungcheongnam-do. The used rainfall factors were monthly rainfall in June, July, and August, rainfall during the summer (June-August), rainfall during the monsoon season, and number of precipitation days during the summer and during the monsoon season. The effect of these factors on landslides was identified by comparing them with the occurrence of landslides in the year of increased landslide occurrence in each area. The results confirmed that not only rainfall but also the number of precipitation days during the monsoon season affect the occurrence of landslides. The rapid increase in landslide occurrence in 2020 was attributed to increases in both the number of precipitation days during the monsoon season and rainfall during the monsoon season in 2020. These results are expected to be used as basic data for future landslide warning standards that consider the effect of the persistence of rainfall.
