This paper presents the design of a switched reluctance motor (SRM) for electric air conditioning compressors which are applied to hybrid electric vehicles (EVs). The motor for driving air conditioning compressor which is recently used on EV(electric vehicle) / HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) is PMSM(permanent magnet synchronous motor) or BLDCM(brushless DC motor). However disadvantage of motors that uses permanent magnets are vulnerable to high temperatures because of the demagnetization by the high temperature and the permanent magnet is expensive because of the high price of rare earth materials from China"s monopoly. Therefore, in the automotive insustry is interested in the non-rare-earth motors. SRM has many advantages. it"s resistant to high temperatures, price is cheaper, because there are no permanent magnets and winding in the rotor. Also it"s high relability and efficiency, suitable for high-speed operation because of structure is simple. In this paper, the SRM, non-rare-earth motor, are designed, analyzed and experimented drive to replace an existing electric compressor drive motor.

최근 모바일 장치의 성능이 가속화됨으로써, 고성능 연산처리 기능을 요구하는 기술들을 이용한 다양한 컨텐츠들이 생산되고 있다. 이동하는 사용자가 자신의 위치를 기반으로 여러 정보를 검색하는 이동정보 서비스들이 증강현실 서비스와 결합하여 많은 서비스들이 생산되고 있다. 이동정보 서비스는 사용자가 새로운 위치로 이동했을 때 정보를 새로이 알아야하는 특성이 있다. 이러한 이동정보 서비스의 특성은 사용자가 위치를 변경하고 새로운 검색을 하였을 때 많은 통신횟수를 요구한다. 이 단점을 보완하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 속도 및 시야각 기반 프리패칭 기법을 제안한다. 기존의 프리패칭 기법은 사용자의 이동 속도와 이동 방향을 고려를 하여 다음 위치에 대한 검색을 하였다. AR에서 화면에 보이는 데이터는 모바일 장치의 시야각에 제한을 받는다는 특징이 있다. 이러한 특징 때문에 기존의 프리패칭 기법은 실제 필요한 데이터보다 훨씬 더 많은 데이터를 검색한다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 장치의 시야각을 이용하는 AR에서 더 효율적인 검색 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 사용자의 속도, 방향, 시야각을 이용하여 필요 없는 공간에 대한 검색을 줄여준다. 줄어든 검색 범위만큼 검색되는 데이터가 더 작아지기 때문에 검색의 효율 또한 기존의 방법들 보다 우수하다. Recently various contents have been produced using the techniques that require high-performance computing process. A lot of services have been being producted as AR(Augmented Reality) service being combined with mobile information service that a moving user search various information based on one's location with. Mobile information service has a characteristic that it needs to get new information according to the location an user moves to. The characteristic requires a lot of communications when user search information moving to a different location. In order to make up for this drawback, we propose a prefetching technique based on speed and viewing angle in this paper. Existing prefetching techniques retrieve the following location of users considering moving speed and direction of the users. The data showed on the screen in AR is limited by the viewing angle of the mobile device. Due to the problems we discussed above, existing prefetching techniques have a demerit that they retrieve a lot more data than needed actually. We propose more efficient way of retrieving data with AR using the viewing angle of the mobile device. The method we propose reduces retrieval of unnecessary location using the users' speed, direction and viewing angle. This method is more efficient than the existing ways of retrieval because we don't need as many data.

Background/Aims: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) are important angiogenic factors. The aim of this study was to measure the plasma level of VEGF and bFGF in patients with gastric cancer and to compare them with those of normal controls. Additionally, we examined the relationship between cancer progression and the levels of VEGF, bFGF, serum CEA and CA19-9. Methods: A total of 108 subjects including 62 normal controls and 46 patients with gastric cancer were recruited. Then, the patients were classified into 3 groups: early cancer group (stage I), advanced gastric cancer group (stage II & III) metastatic gastric cancer group (stage IV). Plasma VEGF and bFGF were measured by ELISA. Serum CEA was measured by radioimmunoassay, and serum CA19-9 was measured by microparticle enzyme immunoassay. Results: Plasma levels of VEGF and bFGF were higher in patients with gastric cancer than in normal controls (p<0.001). Furthermore, patients with metastatic gastric cancer have much higher plasma VEGF and bFGF levels than patients with early and advanced gastric cancer. Serum CA19-9 level was higher in metastatic gastric cancer compared with those of other two groups (p<0.001). The cut-off value of VEGF was 50.5 pg/mL and the cut-off value of bFGF was 19 pg/mL to discriminate the patients with gastric cancer from controls. Conclusions: Plasma VEGF and bFGF as well as serum CA19-9 could be useful markers for gastric cancer progression, especially in metastatic gastric cancer. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2003;41:351-357)

Background/Aims: Several recent epidemiologic studies in familial inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) reported preliminary evidences for genetic anticipation in IBD. However, presence of genetic anticipation in IBD has been questioned. We studied pairs of two-generation first-degree relatives with IBD to identify evidence for genetic anticipation in Korean patients with familial IBD and to know the influence of gender of transmitting parent on anticipation in IBD. Methods: Through retrospective review of the records of 11 parent-child pairs with IBD, we compared age at diagnosis (AAD) and severity of disease between generations and investigate difference in the degree of anticipation with respect to gender of transmitting parent. Results: At the time of study enrollment, the mean age of parents was 56.2 years and 29.1 years in children. Diagnostic intervals (time from first symptoms to diagnosis) between generations were similar (p=0.307). The mean AAD was 21.7 years younger in children than in parents (p<0.001). But, the degree of anticipation was not different according to gender of transmitting parents (p=0.369). Also, severities of disease were not significantly different between generations. Conclusions: Genetic anticipation may exist in Korean patients with familial IBD but, further studies with larger cohorts and sufficient observation time is warranted to rule out the effect of short follow-up time bias. Background/Aims: Natural resistance-associated macrophage protein 1 (NRAMP1) gene controls the immune response to intracellular microbial pathogens in human. To identify the association between the NRAMP1 gene and susceptibility of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Korean population, we examined three predominant alleles (allele 2, 3, and 7) that have been known to influence the transcriptional activity of the NRAMP1 gene. Methods: Genomic DNA was extracted from blood lymphocytes by standard method in 70 patients with Crohn`s disease (CD), 72 patients with ulcerative colitis (UC), and 52 healthy controls. To detect sequence polymorphisms in the NRAMP1 gene promoter, we performed nonisotopic genomic PCR-SSCP analysis. PCR products with different SSCP patterns were subjected to DNA sequencing analysis to verify sequence polymorphisms. Results: The allele and carrier frequencies of allele 2 and 3 were similar in both patient and healthy control group. Although the statistical significance did not exist, the allele and carrier frequencies of allele 7 had higher tendency in patients with CD (10.7%, 21.4%) and UC (11.1%, 22.2%) than in the healthy control group (4.8%, 9.6%). Conclusions: Our findings suggest that the specific promoter polymorphism of the NRAMP1 gene may influence susceptibility to IBD in the Korean population. Further studies with a group of subjects are required to clarify our observations. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2003;41:465-472)
