The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of aqua-acupuncture of Laennec N HO (Hominis placenta Cervi pontotrichum cornu Carthami semen). on trabecular area and physiological change in ovariectomized osteoporotic rats. This experiment was performed to .investigate an antiosteoporosis. effects of Laennec N HO(Hominis placenta Cervi pontotrichum cornu Carthmi semen) aqua-acupuncture on the osteoporosis induced by both ovariectomy in Rats. So rats were divided into Sham group and OVX group. OVX groups were divided into control group, Exp. I group, Exp II group and Exp III group). The Ratios of trabecular area seen in ephiphysis and diaphysis of tibia and lumbar vertebral body and physiological change were as follows. 1. In the proximal ephiphysis of tibia, Exp I II III groups were significantly increased compared to that in control group (p<0.05). 2. In the diaphysis of tibia, Exp III group were significantly increased compared to that in control group (p<0.05). 3. In the first lumbar vertebral body, Exp II group were significantly increased compared to that in control group. 4. In the cortical thickness index of tibia, Exp III III groups were significantly increased compared to that in control group. 5. Osteoca1cin was increased in the Exp II group than those of other Experiment groups and control group, and Phosphorus was decreased in the Exp I II group than that in control group, But a significant difference was not seen. GOT, GPT and Alkaline phosphatase were decreased in all Experiment groups than that in control group. But a significant difference was not seen. From the above results, it might be suggested that aqua-acupuncture Laennec N HO(Hominis placenta Cervi pontotrichum cornu Carthami semen) prevented the increase in bone turnover and the decrese in bone mass induced by OVX in rats.
광합성 색소의 HPLC 분석을 위한 여과지 분쇄 효과 평가

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) 분석방법은 식물플랑크톤의 생물량 및 일차생산력을 추정하기 위한 지시자로서 chlorophyll a 농도를 측정하고 carotenoids의 종류를 파악해 종조성을 확인하기 위해 널리 이용되고 있다. 그러나 대량시료의 분석에 요구되는 시료 전처리 과정 중 여과지 분쇄는 상당한 시간과 숙련이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 엽록소 및 carotenoids의 정량분석에 대한 여과지 분쇄의 영향을 파악하고자 동해 남서부 해역의 시료를 이용해 여과지 분쇄 전후의 광합성 색소 농도를 비교 평가했다. HPLC 분석에서 여과지 분쇄 생략 시 Chl a의 경우 평균 45% 과소평가되었다. 또한 pico, nano 크기 식물플랑크톤의 지표색소인 Zeaxanthin, 19'-butanoyloxyfucoxanthin, 19'-hexanoyloxyfucoxanthin는 최대 77~85% 과소평가되었다. 크기가 작은 식물플랑크톤의 경우 여과지 분쇄가 생략될 경우 불완전한 추출로 지표색소의 농도가 실제보다 저평가될 가능성이 크다는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 HPLC 분석에서 여과지 분쇄 생략 시 Chl a 뿐 아니라 carotenoids 또한 과소평가 되므로 모든 경우에서 여과지 분쇄 과정이 반드시 필요하다고 판단된다. High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is a widely used method for measuring the concentration of chlorophyll a as an indicator for estimating phytoplankton biomass and primary production and also for identifying carotenoids to determine phytoplankton composition. However, tissue grinding procedure requires a lot of time and experience in the analysis of multiple sample. Accordingly, we measured the concentrations of photosynthetic pigments before and after the grinding, in order to understand the grinding effects on the quantitative analysis of chlorophylls and carotenoids using samples from southwestern East Sea. When tissue grinding procedure was omitted, we found that Chl a concentrations were underestimated up to 45% in average. Also, concentrations of Zeaxanthin, 19'-butanoyloxyfucoxanthin, 19'-hexanoyloxyfucoxanthin, biomarkers of pico and nano-size phytoplankton, were underestimated up to maximum 77~85% without grinding. We found that the smaller the phytoplankton, the bigger underestimation of their biomarker pigments concentration is likely to happen due to the incomplete extraction. Thus, tissue grinding procedure should be included for HPLC analysis in all cases, to prevent the underestimation of not only Chl a but also carotenoids pigments.
집왕거미(거미목; 왕거미과)의 인공적인 불빛선호도에 대한 행동학적 연구

본 논문에서는 집왕거미(Neoscona nautica L. Koch, 1847)가 인공적인 불빛에 대한 선호도를 알아보았다. 실험결과, 집왕거미는 인공적인 불빛을 선호하는 경향을 보였다. 인공적인 불빛을 전혀 경험하지 못한 어린 유체를 대상으로 실험 한 결과, 성체보다 불빛에 대한 선호도가 강하게 나타나는 경향을 보였다. 이러한 사실을 토대로 인공적인 불빛을 선호하는 집왕거미의 특성은 후천적인 학습에 의한 결과라기보다 선천적인 내재되어있는 특성으로 보인다. Neosconae nautica, the nocturnal orb-web spider, inhabits nearby a house, around the artificial light. This study is to seek the answer to the question, does N. nautica have light preference either innate or acquired. A laboratory experiment showed that adult female of N. nautica moved actively to lit site. Also immature spiders that have never experienced artificial light showed very strong preference to the light. A census of the potential prey availability and actual prey captured in the web proved that individual lived near around the light have advantage offoraging. And the lights give a temporal advantage for survival. This behavior of N. nautica appears to be genetically predetermined rather than learned caused by evolutionary adaptation.
2019년 삼척지역 산사태 특성 및 산림의 방재기능에 대한 연구

Close on the heels of the East Coast Forest Fires (ECFF) in April 2000, Samcheok in the region witnessed landslides in October 2019. Therefore, it is imperative to understand the association between forest fire and slope stability. Accordingly, survey plots were set up around the site of the landslide to investigate micro-topography, forest structure, and growth environment. The results revealed that B plots scored high on appearance and the density of trees, while A plots had high values on the H/D ratio. Further, it is important to control tree density in the restored forests because the H/D ratio, which induces slope stability, exceeds suitable values at both A and B plots, resulting in intense competition among the trees growing in the affected sites. The findings are useful for proposing a mountain management project to prevent sediment-related disasters. Moreover, they would aid in evaluating the root cohesion of trees contributing to slope stability on the east coast region of Gangwon-do, which is prone to disasters such as large-scale forest fires, heavy rains, and landslides. 2000년 동해안 산불피해 이후, 삼척지역에서는 2019년에 산사태가 발생하면서 산불이 사면안정에 미치는 영향에 대하여 파악하는 것이 중요하게 되었다. 이를 위해 토사 발생원에 조사구를 설정하여 산지미지형 특성, 산림구조 및 생육환경과의 관계를 조사하였다. 그 결과, 목본식생의 출현 종수와 개체밀도는 B plots가, 형상비는 A plots가 높게 나타났다. 특히, 붕괴가 발생한 A, B plots에서는 수목 간 경쟁으로 인해 산림의 방재기능이 효과적으로 발휘되는 형상비를 초과하였으므로, 산불 후 회복된 산림에서는 밀도관리가 중요할 것으로 판단되었다. 즉, 이 연구결과는 대형산불, 집중호우, 산사태 등의 재해에 직면해 있는 강원 동해안 지역의 사면안정에 기여하는 수목의 뿌리점착력을 평가함으로써 토사재해방지를 위한 산지관리 사업을 제안하는 데 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
