Low power consuming butane gas sensors were fabricated using mica substrate which is a thin and elastic insulator. To increase the sensitivity and the stability, various catalyst layers were formed on SnO_(2) thin layer. Among them, SnO_(2) /Pt(17Å)/Pd(30Å) and SnO_(2) /Pt(8Å )/Pd(30Å) thin layer showed good characteristics in stability and dependance of temperature and humidity. The size of fabricated sensors was 1 x 3 mm^(2) and the consumed power was lower than 100 mW at operating temperature(250℃). For 2000 ppm butane concentration, the response time and the recovery time were about 5 seconds and 15 seconds respectively. The sensitivity of the sensors was about 80 % for 5000 ppm butane concentration.

In this paper. we implement ITU-T Recommendation H.323 that is multimedia communication system. Video conferencing system is implemented software using RTP. MPEG and G.721 by Visual C++ 6.0 language in Windows-98. Also Video post-office box is implemented. We should prove the result of H.323 through experiment.

A flow sensor for detecting the flow rate of a air, composing a substrate, a heating element, and one or two fluid temperature sensing elements disposed symmetrically around the heating element. Wherein resistence changes by a fluid temperature change and heating element is maintained at fixed level by the control of voltage that is applied to the heating element. The function of the heating element(microheater) is based on the self-heating effect of the resistor when current is applied to it. A airflow sensor is capable of accuritely measuring a air flow irrespective of changes in ambient temperature. Pt thin films were deposited by a DC magnetron sputtering with Ar/O_(2) gas mixtures. Due to the oxygen incorporation into the Pt films, deposition rate and resistivity of as-deposited Pt thin films increased with oxygen fraction in the sputtering gas.

A thin film Pt-RTD(resistance temperature device) was fabricated by using DC magnetron sputtering and laser patterning. A study was fulfilled to adjust the TCR(temperature coefficient of resistance) to 3850 ppm/℃ which is IEC751 standard and the influence of oxygen addition(0 ~ 20 %) on TCR was measured. The resistance of Pt-RTD was set to 1000 Q at 0 ℃ using laser patterning and trimming. The analyses of XRD and AES were used to characterise the platinum thin film. The TCR of Pt-RTD was measured by a high precision oil bath. When the addition of oxygen flow rate was 1 %, TCR was 3850 ppm/℃.

Protaetia brevitarsis has been used as a traditional medicine for the treatment of patients with chronic hepatic diseases, although its toxicity in vivo was not proven pharmacologically or clinically. To investigate the subchronic toxicity of Protaetia brevitarsis extract (PBE) in Sprague-Dawley rats, male rats were given diet containing 0.04, 0.2, or 1.0% PBE for 4 and 12 weeks, respectively. Compared with age-matched control group, PBE treated groups have no abnormal signs(in external morphology) and significant changes in body weight and organs weight. Any abnormal signs including urinalysis and serum biochemistry parameters were also not observed after treatment with PBE for 12 weeks. Levels of total proteins and albumin in serum were significantly increased only in the group administered with 0.2% and 0.04% PBE for 4 weeks, but those were returned to the levels of control rats when rats were treated with same amount of PBE for 12 weeks. On the contrary, the activities of serum AST and ALT were decreased in the groups administered with 1.0% PBE for 4 weeks, and 1.0% and 0.04% PBE for 12 weeks. However, the alterations were located within the normal range in these parameters. Therefore, the results suggest that PBE does not induce any toxicity in SD rats administered with diet containing up to 1.0% of PBE for 12 weeks.
