In this paper, an implantable middle ear hearing aids using an electromagnetic transducer which consists of a tiny coil and a magnet is designed, and objective design method to implement a vibrator of the electromagnetic type transducer is proposed. Sound characteristic of the electromagnetic type vibrator is excellent but power transfer rate is lower than that of a ceramic type. To improve power transfer efficiency of system, external and inner part of a middle ear system is designed using FI\T transmission method. We implemented an experimental set of the designed transducer, inner part, and outer part. Then, we measured vibration characteristics of a metal strip and a temporal bone of a dead body. As the results, we confirmed the advantage of FM method and showed that designed transducer could effectively transmit vibration of amplified input sound pressure to ossicle.

N/A The prevention of noise induced hearing loss is very important. because there is no treatment for it. There are some kinds of devices for hearing protection. and those are effective in preventing a noise induced hearing loss. However, people often resist the use of hearing protection devices hecause it is difficult to have a conversation. Therefore, a hearing protection device is must effective not only in hearing protection but also in preserving communication ability. In this paper. we proposed a small acoustic filter for ITE type noise protector to solving the problem about the difficulties of conversation. That is applied a principle of acoustic filters that have been used for a muffler of automobiles, guns, and etc. To find out the sound transmission characteristic at the eardrum. we regarded an acoustic filter and external ear canal as a coupled system. So, we simulated the coupled system with OrCad, and experimented with a designed acoustic filter and a 2 cc coupler which has the same transmission characteristic as the external ear canal has. We confirmed that it is possible to adjustment acoustic transmission characteristics through simulation of electrical model for acoustic filter and external ear and experiments using designed small acoustic filters.

청각보조용 이식 중이를 위한 코일-영구자석형의 장치들을 체외기와 체내기로 나누어 설계 및 제작하고 실험하였다. 이식 중이용의 코일과 자석으로 된 진동부의 설계를 정량화시키기 위하여 중이와 진동체를 포함하는 일련의 시스템을 모델화시켜 해석하였다. 제작된 시스템의 체내기는 수신용 코일, 검파회로, 진동부 및 지지 샤프트 등으로 이루어지며 체외기는 음성 증폭부, 발진 및 변조부로 구성된다. 제작된 체내기를 고막과 청소골 및 내이가 보존된 사체의 측두골에다 이식한 다음 주파수 변화에 따른 청소골의 미소 진동을 진동 측정기로써 측정한 결과 각각 400㎐ 및 2.7㎑에서 피크를 갖는 곡선을 얻음으로써 이식형 중이의 실현 가능성을 확인하였다. 또한 전력 소아 및 다이나믹 레인지들을 고려하여 체외부인 송신부를 설계 제작하였으며 이들을 케이스를 포함하여 도합 18.5g의 귀걸이형으로 만들었다. We designed, developed and experimented coil-permanent magnet type device for implantable middle ear. We made a model of whole system including middle ear and vibrator and analyzed in order to quantificate design of vibration part, consisted of coil for middle ear and magnet. Internal unit consists of receiver coil, demodulation circuit, vibrator and supporting shaft and external unit consists of voice amplifier, oscillation and modulation circuit are developed respectively. After system developed, internal unit was implanted at temporal bone of carcass, minute vibration according frequency variation was measured by a vibration meter. Then, we confirmed the possibility of realizing middle ear implant by obtaining the curve whose peak values appear at 400㎐ and 2.7㎑, respectively. In addition, external unit was designed and developed considering power dissipation and dynamic range and it is an earring type device of 18.5g including case.

In this paper, the electrical characteristics of microelectrode-3mol KCl electrolyte interface was investigated upon increasing current density at 3 different frequencies(100, 1000 and 10,000 Hz). Metaltip microelectrode and micropipet electrode of thin stainless steel wire or Ag-AgCl wire were prepared and experiment circuit was set up to acquire their series-equivalent capacitance and rectification properties. Consequently, it was found that the resistance of microelectrode was decreased with increasing current density but capacitance was increased. At higher frequency, resistance and capacitance have tendency to decrease, resistance and impedance of micropipet electrode were remarkably larger than those of metal-tip microlectrode but capacitance was smaller. Stainless steel microelectrode had higher threshold current density as frequency was increased showing obvious rectification property. Ag-AgCl microelectrode was found to have good characteristics showing no rectification property.

The evoked otoacoustic emission signals are measured and processed by computer for analysis. Small microphone and earspeaker are inserted into outer ear for the acquistion of E-OAE signals. After stimulations and detections are repeated 1000 times, the signals are averaged for noise cancellation and analyzed on frequency domain and time domain. Automatic latency calculation algorithm is proposed and mathmatical functions are extracted from analysis of latency. These assure that latency is directly related to the impedance of cochlear.
