        Hydroxyapatite 안와삽입물의 자기공명영상소견

        Purpose : To assess MR findings of hydroxyapatite orbital implants and their usefulness for the evaluation of fibrovascular ingrowth. Materials and Methods : MR images of 32 hydroxyapatite orbital implants were obtained six months after implantation surgery. We retrospectively analysed MR images for signal intensity and contrast enhancement in both central and peripheral zones of the implants. The degree of contrast enhancement in an implant was compared with that of the temporalis muscle on contrast enhanced fat suppressed T1 weighted images. Results : On T1-weighted images, implants showed a higher signal intensity than that of the vitreous body in the opposite globe. All implants showed peripheral contrast enhancement, densely enhanced in 30 cases and faintly in two. Three implants showed dense central contrast enhancement, and in the remainder, enhancement was similar to that of gray matter. On T2 weighted images, bright signal intensity was noted in 29 implants, focally in 19 and diffusely in ten. In most cases, areas of peripheral iso- to low signal intensity on T2-weighted images corresponded well with the contrast-enhanced area on T1 weighted images. Conclusion: At six months ofter surgery, Gd-enhanced MR imaging was useful for the evaluation of fibrovascular ingrowth in hydroxyapatite orbital implants.

        다양한 신동내 병변의 영상진단

        The renal sinus extends from the perinephric space into the deep recess situated on the medial border of the kidney. Contained within the space are the pelvocalyceal system, fat and lymph nodes. Arteries, veins, lymphatic channels and nerves of the autonomic nervous system traverse the sinus, and various pathological conditions may occur in this area. These various sinusal lesions may present a similar imaging appearance, and diagnostic errors may frequently occur, especially if diagnosis is attempted without first clearly understanding the serveral possibilities. This pictorial essay demonstrates various renal sinus lesions and emphasizes the proper combination of multimodal imaging. For evaluation of the extent of the lesious, CT is the preferred imaging modality, since this best depicts the anatomy of the renal sinus, Using a proper combination of multimodal imaging, specific diagnosis was in most cases possible.

        환자 위치 확인을 위한 비콘 기반 공간 분할 기법

        Tracking the location of patients in medical facilities is important to guarantee the patients’ safety and to improve the service quality. Previous studies related to location tracking systems based on Bluetooth communication need numerous prerequisite information and multiple devices to improve the accuracy. In this paper, we propose a beacon-based space partition scheme that assigns different arrangement patterns of beacons to different spaces and composes groups with the similar value of RSSI to minimize prerequisite information and the number of beacons. The proposed scheme considers a pattern arrangement scheme to minimize intereference between neighbor patterns. We also verified the applicability of our scheme to monitor the patient location by using experimental results. 의료시설 내에서 이동하고 있는 환자의 위치를 확인하는 것은 환자의 안전을 보장하고 의료서비스 질의 향상을 위해서 중요하다. 기존의 블루투스를 활용한 실내위치확인 시스템에서는 정확도 향상을 위해서 많은 사전 정보와다수의 장치를 활용해야하는 문제가 있었다. 본 논문에서는 서로 다른 공간에 다른 패턴으로 비콘을 배치하고 동일한수신신호강도를 갖는 비콘들을 그룹화하여 사전 정보 없이 소규모의 비콘만으로 공간을 인식하는 기법을 제안한다. 제안 기법에서는 인접 패턴간의 간섭을 고려하여 이를 최소화 할 수 있는 패턴 배치 기법을 연구했다. 또한 실험을 통해제안 기법이 환자 위치 확인 시스템에 적용가능하다는 것을 검증하였다.

        인터넷 기반 원격 의료 진단 시스템 개발

        Radiologic images are widely used in hospitals for diagnosing and treating patients' diseases. The radiologist accurately reads radiologic images, and thus helps diagnose patients correctly. The number of radiologists is much smaller than is necessary, however. In some small or rural hospitals, there are no radiologists residing there. In these cases, correct diagnosis and treatment are infeasible. Also, radiologists are not resident at hospitals all day long. Thus, emergency patients would suffer from the absence of radiologists at night. XRay21 Inc. and Data & Knowledge Engineering Lab. at Kangwon National University have been working together since 2000 in order to alleviate the problems above. Currently, the advances of the computer and network technology make it possible to connect a lot of radiologists and hospitals together through the Internet. By fully utilizing the Internet environment, we have developed an Internet-based medical diagnosis system, thus permitting remote diagnosis of radiologic images. This paper presents the technical experiences obtained in developing the system.
