Improvement of Terrain Referenced Navigation using a Point Mass Filter with Grid Adaptation
유영민,박찬국 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2015 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.13 No.5
We propose a Point Mass Filter (PMF) with a grid adaptation algorithm suitable for Terrain Referenced Navigation (TRN) systems having linear system models and highly nonlinear measurement models. The TRN systems are once again attracting attention, with the development of related hardware and sensors that can replace the Global Positioning System (GPS) in GPS denied environments. However, conventional TRN systems implemented by the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) have some limitations, when operated in a featureless terrain area. A global nonlinear Bayesian estimation method referred to as a PMF has been applied, to overcome these drawbacks. This method, however, also has some limitations and unclear steps. Thus, we propose an adaptive PMF method for TRN systems. This algorithm can overcome the divergence problem, when a vehicle having large initial position error flies over flat or repetitive terrain for a long time. The effectiveness and the performance improvement of the proposed PMF are verified through computer simulation for TRN, compared to the EKF and two conventional PMF methods.

To design the hospital well needs to begin with rational classification and analysis of the spaces in hospital. But the methods for functional organization and space calculation which have been used are different each other, so the comparision of the existing data is difficult and the value of data goes down. To overcome these problems, the standard method for functional organization of departments and space calculation needs to be made. This research aims to establish the basic data for standard method by analysis the characteristics and differences of the existing methods.

Korean society is facing the situation in which it has to dramatically increase the supply of healthcare facilities for the elderly in the near future. Recently many nursing homes and geriatric hospitals have been supplied all over the country. But the data for planning and design of the facilities are very insufficient in Korea. So this paper aims to present the basic data for planning and design of skilled nursing homes. To do this we surveyed and analyzed 10 skilled nursing home facilities, and then present the compiled data from this analyses.
Activation of mTOR for the Loss of Skeletal Muscle in a Hindlimb-Suspended Rat Model

The hindlimb-suspended or unloading rodent model was developed to mimic the microgravity of a spaceflight environment and has been used extensively to study the physiological responses to various aspects of musculoskeletal loading and unloading. This study investigated a compensating response to skeletal muscle loss in a hindlimb-suspended model that involves up-regulation of mTOR phosphorylation at four weeks. Body weight and muscle volume significantly decreased over four weeks in the hindlimb-suspended group compared with the sham control. Expressions of p-mTOR, raptor protein, p-p70S6K, p-Akt, and p-ERK, anti- or pro-apoptotic p53, Bcl-2, Bcl-XL, Bax, and Bak proteins were significantly increased in the hindlimb-suspended group compared to the sham control at four weeks. These results indicate that p-mTOR and p-Akt/p-ERK proteins might be up-regulated to compensate for the loss of skeletal muscle in the hindlimb-suspended model. Expressions of p-AMPK, IRS1, and IRS2 proteins were significantly increased, but that of p-eIF2α was significantly reduced in the hindlimb-suspended group compared to the sham control at four weeks. Our results suggest that the loss of skeletal muscle in a hindlimb-suspended model induces activation of p-mTOR and p-Akt/p-ERK proteins, and that these signaling pathways may preserve protein synthesis and cell growth in skeletal muscles of hindlimb-suspended animals.
