        자이로용 Er-첨가 광섬유 광원에서 편광 스크램블링을 이용한 편광효과의 억제

        자이로스코프용 광대역폭 erbium 첨가 광섬유 광원에서 중심파장의 편광의존성을 억제하기 위하여 펌프광의 편광을 변조함으로써 스크램블링하는 방식을 사용하였다. 원통형 PZT에 광섬유를 감은 형태의 편광변조기에 적정진폭의 변조를 가함으로써 펌프광의 편광도(시간평균치)를 1.4%까지 낮출 수 있었다. 펌프 편광 스크램블러와 출력단 depolarizer를 함께 사용한 경우에 임의의 편광변화에 대한 광원의 중심파장 변화가 측정기의 측정한계(∼5 ppm) 이하로 관찰되었다. In a broadband erbium-doped fiber source for fiber optic gyroscope, a pump-polarization scrambling scheme is used to suppress the polarization dependence of the source mean wavelength. The degree of polarization of the pump is reduced to 1.4% by applying proper modulation depth to the polarization modulator where 10 m-long single-mode fiber is wound on a cylindrical PZT. In the case of using the pump-polarization scrambler as well as the output depolarizer, the mean-wavelength variations due to the random change of polarization are measured to be less than our measurement limit of 5 ppm.

        Positioning Ouida at the Turn of the Century

        This paper attempts to reassess a neglected sensation novelist, Ouida, by reading her life and writings. Ouida is usually remembered as a writer who argued against Sarah Grand on the issue of the New Woman, and as one who strongly stood against the New Woman movements. However, in a certain sense, her life itself is that of an independent, self-assertive woman, and in many of her writings appear those women whose life challenges and even completely destroys the male-oriented traditional values and codes of conduct. In fact, her life even can be seen as the materialization of the characteristics of the New Woman while herself luxuriously enjoying the values endowed only on males. In this sense, I would like to suggest we accept Ouida as a hybrid of the Victorian traditional values and the New Woman instead of discarding her as one who is strongly opposed to the New Woman and whose work is not worth a serious discussion.

        錢穆의 史學과 憂患意識

        From beginning of 20th century in China had been suffered from relentless threat and distress from not only domestic disintegration but also aggressive western attacks. Faced of the crisis upon China, Chinese civilization to be destroyed with loss of confidence were out of line. At this point, Ch'ien Mu(錢穆, 1895~1990) said "it is shame that there is no national pride and sovereignty among Chinese." As working on the subject of Chines history, he pursued Chinese people to restore national pride and preserve their cultural properties as spirits in them. To study Chinese history, Ch'ien Mu emphasized the uniqueness of Chinese history. He thought the process is significantly different between the western history and the Chinese history. He indicated that the ultimate soul intention in Chinese history was embodying in peace. Represents, the most comprehensive concept of peace in Chinese history from ancient time he asserted that the Chinese political system and social structure seeking for reasonable, rational, equal, harmonize, emotion etc. Based on this conviction, he criticized the theory of that China had been feudal, monarchy and the darkness society which claimed by scholars in large numbers since the 19th century. In addition, Ch'ien Mu tried to reconstruct the uniqueness of Chinese history and the Chinese patriotism with a confidence. Futhermore with his spring-blooded enthusiasm, as he accomplished Kuo-shih ta-kang(國史大綱), he led people to bear noble patriotic mind. As a result it brings many patriotic people standings up for saving their own country. To conclude, all of Ch'ien Mu`s life was devoted for restoring national noble pride from collapsed, and devastated country. More to emphasize, Ch'ien Mu himself carried the corroborating Chinese consciousness of anxiety which is a allegiance to endeavor his own duty on preserving the national sovereignty and highly enlightened Chinese culture throughout his relentless study, which subject was Chinese history.

        秋瑾의 思想과 그 活動 변천

        秋瑾(1875∼1907)是二十世紀初中國的著名女性啓蒙運動家, 革命家, 詩人. 本文按照秋瑾的思想和活動變遷檢討了她的女權運動和救國活動, 幷且考察了她指向的女權運動和救國活動的內涵. 本文除了<序言>, <結語>以外, 共分三個部分討論秋瑾的思想和活動變遷. 第一部分<男女平等思想>, 是探討秋瑾形成男女平等思想的內外在因素和其背景. 第二部分<女權伸張啓蒙運動>, 主要考察有關秋瑾的女權伸張啓蒙運動過程和主要活動內容. 第三部分<救國革命活動>, 乃在觀察時代的變動與所面臨的現實社會和國家問題在秋瑾的救國革命活動中如何影響和呈現. 秋瑾從小就自覺到男女平等是天賦的權利, 從而她就開始尋找寶貴的人間尊嚴性和權利, 而展開男女平等和女權伸張啓蒙運動. 後來她發現要達到男女平等和女權伸張的目標, 至前首先要達到社會改革和革命. 所以她追求的核心活動是漸次轉換到以革命活動來建設新的國家, 最後她把自己的生命獻給了救國革命活動. 秋瑾把自己的生命獻給救國革命活動有兩個內涵. 一是她以爲它就是一擧達成救國和女權伸張一起, 二是她以爲它就是不但達成救國和女權伸張, 而且覺醒中國女性也對社會和國家有責任. 總的來說, 秋瑾的女權運動和救國活動, 是無論當時或後世對要具現和通察男女平等主義者和人權主義者都給很大的啓示和影響. 由她的人權思想, 他們都會認識到在社會上天賦人權具有崇高的價値. 同時由她做的實踐行爲, 他們都會知道面對人間本然的權利時, 不應當回避自身的重大責任, 而如何獲得它的方法.

        An American Myth Emerged from Death Comes for the Archbishop

        Willa Cather’s Death Comes for the Archbishop traces the process of finding a new culture emerged by mingling the European and the Native American cultures. Cather shows it in Father Latour’s life in New Mexico. By continuing contacts with the native Indians and his attachment to gardening, Father Latour achieves a comprehension of the new place, a complete understanding that leads in the end to produce a new culture that is not simply European nor American Indian. However, Cather shows that America has lost or forgotten the new culture that was once made and felt by Father Latour. This paper aims to reveal how Father Latour achieves the understanding of the place and how an American myth emerges from it.

        『明史』 「列女傳」의 사실과장과 사실미화 -身體毁損과 神異現像 서술을 중심으로-

        The Mingshi Yeolnyeojeon described about a lot of the physical abuse. Mingshi Yeolnyeojeon also mentioned about a lot of the strange phenomenon. Such historical writing, it is hard to find in the highly authorized historical books. In China the physical abuse thought impiety and also the physical abuse oneself was the object of the bad sign. Usually the highly authorized historical books generally evaded a description about the physical abuse. And the history book considers seriously an objectivity and a reliability. And the highly authorized historical books usually does not describe about the strange phenomenon. By the way, what is the reason which Mingshi Yeolnyeojeon describes about the strange phenomenon and the physical abuse? Like investigating from the present paper about the answer is simple. It is in order to exaggerate a faithful act from the strange phenomenon. And It is in order to beautify a faithful act from the physical abuse. For this purpose Mingshi Yeolnyeojeon attitude depicted about the physical abuse and the strange phenomenon intentionally. Description because like this, the faithful act of the Ming dynasty woman was very exaggerated and was very beautified. In order to attain the ideology which specifies is the Mingshi Yeolnyeojeon description method which is suitable. But Mingshi Yeolnyeojeon was lost objectivity and reliability in from the history book. In addition Mingshi Yeolnyeojeon was not rational intelligence and scientific intelligence anymore. So the Ming dynasty woman in Mingshi Yeolnyeojeon became the woman as a matter of the features which was inhuman with angry, violence, the blood, dead, suspicion.

      • 6.4天安門사건의 始末과 실패배경

        In the consequence of distresses had been accumulated since Chinese economy open policy adopted in 1976, the protest for democracy arose in June 4th of 1989. It is called as Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 as taking a opportunity of Hu Yaobang death, who had defined as a pro-liberal political leader during period of 1980's. It ended with a tragedy. The tragedy had been predicted from core- demonstrators in the knowledge, which the government was not plausible taking a flexible response upon the protest which the government has a very rigid policy against agitations. They pre-knowledged Chinese government has a strong infrastructure based on the peculiar cultural and political tradition since Han dynasty. Chinese supreme authority couldn't find a decent way to release the controversial: the sheer protest demanding open and democratic policy not for the rebellious one. However, there are several causes that democratic movement couldn't avoid the disastrous end. First, leading-demonstrators didn't cognize government structure- monolithic political system and the bureaucratical tradition in that moment. Secondly, it was a provocation against the supreme authority had been represented under one party autocratic policy. Add to above, anarchical characteristics of the movement was seemed to inflict the unification of China regarding as a prior concept of the government and majority of the people of China. If protester request for reforming the policy rather than cling into the personal impeachment considered as the constitutional threat, they might had obtain the path of government reform for democracy. In bringing up the personal impeachment against supreme authority assumed as one of their strategy the core might acknowledged to receive fatal consequence. Even admitting Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 revealed as a most tragedy contained other distracting causes, there are many optimistic factors about open- policy in the processing that no one could devaluate the patriotic motivation of the movement. With Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 as a momentum for protesters, they apparently realized their society more accurate in the point of time and gained more extensive foresight of China as being a substance with long duration of it's own historical bearing from various disturbances. Furthermore, they recognised their capacity for the future and defects of their own strategy. In these sense, Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 gave them vivid lessons allow to keep their noble and firm belief for future process and operations. Since the tragic moment, vast majority of Chinese has provoked into deliberating the subjects of Democracy, Freedom, and human rights with mature thought and contemplation, the same subjects had been buried in Chinese from 5.4 movement. Meanwhile, Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 brought a considerable turning point for the political leaders, so they enable making true efforts to recognize what people want the most, to find defects upon political structure and eventually willing to reform their policy as people of China should be respected and protected in their freedom and human rights as much as taking responsibility for the country. In addition, Chinese supreme policy against 6.4 demonstration and the following execution displayed strong prohibition further inflicting and mal policy to Chinese authority among Chinese co-related states which is Hong kong, Taiwan, so on.

        광섬유격자를 이용하는 진행파형 단일모드 광섬유레이저의 제작과 특성 측성

        광섬유격자와 단방향성 광섬유 loop mirror를 이용하여 단일모드로 발진하는 erbium첨가 광섬유레이저를 구성하였다. 이득매질인 erbium첨가 광섬유를 단방향성 loop내에 둠으로써 레이저광이 이득매질내에서 진행파를 이루도록 하고 loop 밖에서 반사 선폭이 0.2nm인 광섬유격자로 파장선택적 귀환시켜 주는 방식으로 공진기를 구성하였다. 수동형 광섬유 링공진기 형태의 광스펙트럼 분석기를 별도로 구성하여 광섬유레이저의 모드 스펙트럼을 관찰한 결과, 외부 온도변화로 인한 분 단위의 모드 튐을 제외하고는 대부분의 시간에 안정적인 단일모드 및 단일편광 상태의 특성을 나타냄을 확인할 수 있었다. A single-mode erbium-doped fiber laser is constructed by using a intracore fiber Bragg grating and a unidirectional fiber loop mirror. The laser cavity is designed in such a way that the laser beam forms a travelling wave in the gain medium by placing the erbium-doped fiber inside the unidirectional loop and that the wavelength-selective feedback is made from the outside of the loop by a fiber grating with 0.2 nm reflection linewidth. An additional fiber ring resonator is constructed and used as an optical spectrum analyzer to observe the variation of the laser mode spectra. As the result, relatively stable single mode, single polarization output is observed for the most of the time except some mode hoppings in minute scale due to enviommental temperature variations. tions.
