할로겐계 액정화합물과 광경화성 수지 화합물을 사용하여 액정/고분자 복합막 재료의 구동 전압, 응답 속도, 콘트라스트 비등의 구동 특성을 향상시켰다. 액정/고분자 복합막의 전기광학적 성질은 사용한 재료의 조성, 제조 온도 등의 제조 환경에 따라 상당한 영향을 받으며, 제조 조건의 최적화에 따라 전기 광학적 성질 및 신뢰성을 크게 향상시킬 수 있었다. 액정/고분자 복합막 재료의 전기 광학적 특성이 크게 개선됨에 따라 TFT 소자 등의 액티브 매트릭스 구동에 의한 고휘도, 대화면의 표시가 가능한 액정 프로젝터의 실용화에 보다 접근할 수 있게 되었다. Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal(PDLC) materials of low saturation voltage and high contrast ratio have been developed by using halogenated liquid crystals and photo-reactive acryl resin system. The other reliabilities such as hysteresis, temperature dependence and UV-stability of its electro-optical properties have been improved by optimising LCPC structure and synthetic conditions. Active-matrix addressed LCPC device having such a good electro-optical properties promises higher brightness and larger screen size for projection display.
정맥마취제 Propofol(Diprivan)의 임상적 연구

Twenty one patients undergoing elective orthopedic or gynecologic operations were randomly assigned to receive anesthesia with propofol 2.0 mg-propofol infusion 6~10 mg/kg/hr-nitrous oxide 50%(propofol group) or thiopental 4~5 mg/kg-isoflurane-nitrous oxide 50%(Thiopental group). The cardiovascular effects were initial decreases of systolic, diastolic, mean arterial pressure, cardiac output and stroke volume and increase in heart rates. There was no difference between groups. After tracheal intubation systolic, diastolic and mean arterial pressure increased in propofol group but not in isoflurane group. During maintenance there was no difference in hemodynamic parameters between groups. Hematologic, renal and hepatic functions revealed no difference between pre-and post-anesthesia in both groups. The cortisol levels were not changed after anesthesia in both groups. The recovery time was significantly shorter in porpofol group than in isoflurane group.

The phase separated structure and the electro-optical properties of the (polymer/liquid) crystal : LC) composite film strongly depended on the weight fraction of LC in it. The continuous LC phase was formed in a three-dimensional polymer network when the LC weight fraction was above 40wt%. The aggregation structure of the composite film could be controlled by controlling the solvent evaporation velocity during the film preparation process. The smaller LC domains or channels were formed in the case of the faster solvent evaporation velocity. The composite film exhibited reversible light scattering-light transmission switching upon electric field -OFF and -ON states, respectiverly. The light scattering properties of the composite film strongly depended on the spatial distortion of the nematic directors as well as the mismatch in refractive indices between matrix polymer and LC.
